Guest Reviews
- Helen (2/5): Awful - The two members of staff were brilliant trying to sort the problem Hotel.was seriously understaffed.
Actual bed wasn't a bed ???? Base disguised with a fitted.sheet ???
The hot water in the shower was scalding hot with no control.over the temperature. Very dangerous ! The staff.tried.sorting it. Tried to upgrade me which the manager was support sort but he basically ran off ! Tried.to get a refund...no money in the account. Complete.nightmare. Left.and.slept on a friends couch. Completely hideous experience. Felt so sorry for the.staff trying to sort things
- Michael (7/5): Lovely staff , ok place to stay for a night or two - Very friendly staff and helpful The bathroom facilities were in need of a renovation
- Dianne (8/5): Very convenient to the wedding venue. - We were able to meet up with family for a wedding closeby which worked out well.
- Jayne (6/5): Family break - Great location as a stop off fir Cardiff I called (after trying 5 times at various times during the day) a few days before to confirm the sleeping arrangements for my 3year old grandson, I was told it was all sorted and it was on the system, when we arrived they didn't seem to know anything about it. It was quickly sorted but the communication needs reviewing and im sure they must lose business by not answering the phone.
The hotel is cosy but needs a bit of attention/updating.
- Joanne (7/5): Good breakfast & lovely staff - Clean & tidy Rooms need bit of TLC & new mattresses
- Keith (10/5): - Staff were brilliant, very friendly. Great guy behind the bar "Harry" kept us laughing.
Had a great evening with the owner and friends with a quiz.
Totally recommend this great hotel.
- CAROL (10/5): -
- Rikki (8/5): An unexpected pleasure of a pitstop. The (very young) team was a credit to the management. - Superb staff, no exceptions: smart, friendly, helpful, couldn't have asked for better.
Dinner was much better than we could possibly have expected for an out of the way country pub, the range was excellent and the food was consistently good. Breakfast was spot on. The property was of course a little tired but spotlessly clean and comfortable, and the main lounge and restaurant were very nice. The corridors in the upper parts of the main building smelt of stale tobacco. Need to deal with that pronto!
- Bealenet (8/5): - Great location easy to find.
Lovely comfortable room.
Dinner and breakfast was good. No hot water in the morning for a shower.
- Phil (10/5): - Great food. Can’t wait to return
- Sandy (8/5): Lovely old hotel - Nice old pub with indoor and outdoor areas. Friendly staff. Food and drinks a bit more expensive than other hotels.
- Michelle FACEY (8/5): -
- Gidion (8/5): -
- Gemma (8/5): Lovely short break - The location of the property was perfect for us and the staff were fantastic The carpet in our room was very worn and could do with updating
- Olivia (9/5): We'll be back! Lovely staff, lovely place. - A lovely atmosphere. We drank pimms outside in the evening and it felt like a real holiday. The room was old fashioned with a view of the church, and we found it charming, but the shower could probably do with some attention.
- Katie (7/5): Clean rooms, nice staff. Shower let the room down and hard beds. Price was ok for what we received. - The staff were very welcoming and the Beaufort is a lovely old style coaching in. Rooms were clean. Great coffee machine in reception for guests to use. Lovely breakfast but no vegetarian alternative for the cooked breakfast. There was a missing floor board under the carpet right outside the bathroom- not ideal when using the facilities in the middle of the night. Needs fixing.
Shower was great but then attachment holding the head wasn’t strong enough to keep the head up! We had to keep adjusting it!
Bed was very hard. If you like firm mattress you will be ok.

- Delia (10/5): Highly recommend. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the food excellent. - The Beaufort was midway on our journey from Anglesey to South Devon. The staff were ultra friendly and the evening meal we had was excellent. Would definitely stay again. Couldn’t fault the hotel.

- Keith (9/5): A very pleasant stay. The breakfast was particularly good - Dinner and breafpkast and helpfulness of staff
- Ian (9/5): Really pleasant - we'll try to go there again. - The staff were excellent, and made everything easy.
- Richard (5/5): Disappointing stay - Last time. - This is the 3rd time I have stayed ay the Beaufort Arms, the staff were all very helpful and very pleasant as usual. The breakfast was lovely, exactly what I requested cooked nicely. My bed was comfortable. On arrival I checked in and asked if needed to book a table for dinner in the restaurant only to be told that they now do NOT serve food on a Monday and Tuesday evening. This is the opposite of their website which I checked prior to booking. It is still the same today 23rd April. I then had to make alternative arrangements.
On my return from dining elsewhere I walked into the bar only to smell and see the owner and a small group dining on what appeared to be a seafood dish. I saw the chef sitting in the breakfast room. This felt like taking the '......' to me.
My room was somewhat disappointing, looked tired, damp in places and the bathroom had mold on the ceiling.
I will not be staying here again.
- Timothy (9/5): Lovely stay great location great staff and a lovely breakfast - Good location
- Mathieu (9/5): Très bon séjour - Très bon établissement, chambre propre et confortable. Personnel très sympathique. Bon petit-déjeuner. Un nettoyage des joints de la douche serait le bienvenue.
- Yoki666 (8/5): - Nice and helpfull staff A little bit outdated hotel for example old showers door to shower were not posdible to close fully you could not lock the room doors from in
- Nathan (10/5): -
- Wendy (10/5): - Everything was perfect. Very dog friendly. The owner Magel and the manager Charlotte are lovely people. This is a beautiful pub. No loud Music or football matches blaring from the TV. Our room was very pretty with a lovely view to the church. Now we've found this little gem we will definitely be staying again. Absolutely nothing.
- Lynne (9/5): - We had evening meal and breakfast which was
excellent and good value.
Staff where very friendly and helpful.
Good location in town with a carpark.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. In the room we had tea and coffee, tv, hair dryer.
The hotel is an old established with character like creaky floors etc.
Would definitely stay again
- Jevaughn (7/5): I will definitely be booking there again soon. - Unfortunately didn't stay for breakfast as I had somehwere to be but overall my stay was pleasent, the staff were exceptional, very welcoming and accommodating.

- Robert (9/5): A cozy place from which to explore the area - Cozy, comfortable, quiet. Friendly staff. Excellent food. Nothing
- Kay (8/5): -
- John (6/5): The location suited our needs and the food was very good, but the room did fall short. - The evening meal was very good and the bed was comfortable. There was no hot water in the morning, for the shower and the hand basin, the bathroom could have been cleaner.
- Natalie (8/5): -
- kerry (8/5): - The location and breakfast They were unable to find a remote for the tv
- Kate (9/5): Friendly welcoming hotel - Quiet, clean and comfortable with friendly welcoming staff. And a generous breakfast that set me up for the day. Very good value The breakfast mushrooms weren't entirely successful... everything else was delicious.
- Neil (8/5): -
- Alan (10/5): -
- Aston (9/5): Amazing food and excellent value for money - The food is absolutely incredible from breakfast to dinner 10/10, The staff was super friendly with great customer service, The value for money is great. Shower could have been cleaner, the mattress could potentially do with upgrading/renewing.
- Ceris (6/5): - Lovely restaurant and welcoming staff. We booked a superior room and it was not. The bed was advertised as king size but it was 2 single mattresses put together with a ridge between so not comfortable at all. The room we had was not what was pictured on line for a superior room!
- mark (5/5): - Staff had an attitude
- Robert (8/5): Great stay interesting surroundings! - Warm welcome pleasant and efficient staff comfortable room ,everything worked. Great meal service was attentive but not pushy in an interestingly decorated and furnished dining area. Some great pieces , lamps, ornaments . Good nights sleep in quiet surroundings despite being in the centre of the village .Recommended ! N/a
- David (10/5): - Staff very friendly
- Geoffrey (8/5): -
- simon (10/5): Wonderful stay in a lovely location, good food and comfy beds! Will stay again! - Hotel was excellent and was much better than we thought it would be. Staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Our room at the front had an excellent view and was very quiet.
The restaurant on site was very good, in both quality and value and service.
Breakfast was good quality and excellent value. Absolutely nothing!

- MARY (8/5): A welcoming place in a good location. - A welcoming inn, in an excellent location. Friendly staff, quiet clean room and a good breakfast.
- Gregory (8/5): Stayed at The Beaufort in Raglan and it was an absolute delight – wonderful staff, a cosy fireplace - We had the most wonderful time at The Beaufort – what a gem! The location is perfect, right in the charming village of Raglan and just a short stroll from the stunning Raglan Castle. We spent a fantastic afternoon exploring the castle's impressive ruins, and coming back to the inn felt like the ideal way to unwind.
The pub area is wonderfully cosy, with a roaring fireplace that made chilly evenings feel so welcoming and atmospheric. We spent hours relaxing there with a drink, soaking up the warm, friendly vibe – it's exactly what you want from a traditional coaching inn.
The staff were outstanding: genuinely warm, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. They made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. And the dinner in the restaurant? Truly excellent.
If you're visiting Raglan or exploring Monmouthshire, The Beaufort is a must. Historic charm, cosy comforts, amazing hospitality, and delicious food – we can't recommend it highly enough.
We'll definitely be back!
Highly recommended!
- Kevin (5/5): Rooms and facilities needs some attention and updating, but the food is nice and the staff are lovely… - The staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was also very nice. Issues with the room facilities and the hot water.
- Williams (9/5): 2 Day Stay. - Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, clean room, good location. The bed and pillows were not comfortable, the mattress definitely needs upgrading.

Very accommodating for our large group. NA
- Deborah (10/5): -
- Darren (10/5): We will definitely come back, everything was great, but the staff were excellent. - We had an evening meal and breakfast, both were excellent. As well as being tasty and good value, the staff went above and beyond taking care of us, they were so attentive, and friendly. We only stayed one night, but felt like we were part of the family. The hotel was truly dog friendly and gave a warm special welcome to our two dogs. Nothing
- Robert (8/5): - Very comfortable room The fact that there was no food on Sunday evenin
- Ponniah (10/5): Fantastic - Beautiful place Nothing not to like
- paul (7/5): -
- Victoria (9/5): Lovely spot - Very friendly and comfortable
- Gavin (8/5): Friendly, cosy perfect to relax in after a day in the mountains. - The staff are really friendly, make you feel very welcome. We were running late, as my wife got lost in the mountains and they check up on us a couple of times to make sure we don’t miss check in. They also do a good vegetarian breakfast. It’s a little run down, but has lots of character.
- Trish (8/5): -
- Paul (8/5): Good stopover place while we visited family locally. - Friendly and helpful staff. Nice comfortable room with a nice view of the village. Didn’t have any meals this time, but did have coffees in the bar which were excellent. Shower temperature was a bit inconsistent. Lots of walking to and fro above us from 5:40am first day, 7:30am second day which, it being an old building, was quite noisy in our room.
- Ann Janet (10/5): excellent all round! -
- MATTHEW (9/5): - Superb vibes and decor for a coaching inn style stayover. Great dinner, good choice of beers and a breakfast that sets you up for the day. The bathroom is a little tired but otherwise clean and functional and the room is plenty big enough for 2.
- Andrea (7/5): -
- Arlyn (9/5): All good - We attended a wedding and needed to stay overnight. The Beaufort Raglan didn’t disappoint us. Hotel rooms are clean and spacious, breakfast is delicious, easy to find the location and the staff are all helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our short stay and we'll definitely be back.

- carter (3/5): Very dissapointed - We liked the location and christmas decorations .ie baby in the manger I didnt expect to be kept waiting to book in at reception nearly 15 minutes both me and my hubby were stood there ..our room was freezing cold radiator wasn't working .elec heaters in wardrobe??room very outdated and not the best at all ..no toilet roll it was quite dusty in bathroom shower tray needs replacing ..we booked for a meal ..both things my husband wanted garlic mushrooms for starters and curry for main meal wasn't available even though restaurant was empty not acceptable at all .he ordered seabass it wasn't worth having he was still hungry after his meal . Cheese cake was ok ..my steak was like a beef burger in size most certainly not value for money good job I ordered extras ..not very welcoming at all and the bed should have been on the antique road show it was as old as the hills... all in all they really need to get it sorted would I stay again ...no I dont think I would ...
- Suzanne (7/5): Not all rooms are dog friendly & booking.com doesn’t tell you that. - The location was great and the food lovely. I entered dog friendly into the booking.com search and it let me book a room that wasn’t dog friendly. I paid extra for a superior but had to be downgraded to a standard in another part of the hotel (with no reimbursement). Luckily I called a few days before to double check as they didn’t answer any of my online messages but we could have been turned away as they were fully booked.
- Nigel (8/5): - Great location, nice large room, great food and drink available...a proper coaching inn. Nothing worth mentioning
- David Eiddon (9/5): -
- Anne (10/5): - Everything, especially the staff Nothing
- Sarah (10/5): Beautiful Raglan - Beautiful hotel & location N/A
- Alison (9/5): Excellent staff. lovely food and comfortable bed. - The room was clean and comfortable. Im normally not great at sleeping away from home but had a good nights sleep. The towels were a little small but otherwise everything was comfortable and clean. I had a good nights sleep.
- Darren (10/5): My group never use any other hotel in the area. - Excellent staff, can never do enough for you. Really friendly and welcoming.
- Christopher (10/5): -
- Joshua (1/5): Wouldn’t stay again - Location Wrong keys 3 times (twice to get into our room) then when arrived back late couldn’t get into the building and no one was answering emergency line for 15 minutes.
Staff very rude in the morning
