The breakfast was good and the staff there was friendly. The hotel is conveniently located to the downtown Athens area. If you are coming to party this is a good location, for any other reason you may want to consider staying elsewhere.

- Heather (6/5): - The room was clean and spacious, the hotel itself was clean. But the pool area is being used as some sort of storage and so the pool is not functioning. None of the vending machines worked, and the free breakfast was less than desirable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Also the towels in our room were stained, but they had been washed so they were clean. It seems like they dont have the financial support they need to keep up with everything.

We were moved to a 2nd floor room( stairs) and then the key did not work. Tried ro move us to a room 3 doors down- it wasnt clwan ( it was 10:"pm. Moved us to 109 ( back down stairs)- no cable- no tv. Sink had water standing and a fly on it. Breakfast had no butter or jelly or cr cheese for bread and bagels. I would like a 50% refund on the orice of the room.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Not as advertised and inaccessible - When arriving, the hotel was completely inaccessible from the street and appeared closed. When calling to cancel, I was told to go thru the next door gas station parking lot. They were able to email in advance about a $10 parking fee, but not able to email about the closed roads and parking not, nor was there any signage to help. The hotel was also significantly more run down than shown in the photos.
- Terry (6/5): - Front desk person was excellent. He was professional and customer-oriented. The first room he assigned me to had a very noisy AC unit. The 2nd had plumbing problems. He graciously changed the room each time and made sure the 3rd was ok and in a suitable location. The property/facility is well used and it shows. Maybe it’s due for a renovation? Bed was comfortable and clean as was tub and toilet. Bathroom floor was mopped, but not well and there was dirt built up in the corners. Instead of leaving early, I stayed because of the customer service of the front desk person and the comfortable bed and clean tub/toilet. There is major construction 24 hrs around the facility making it noisy and hard to access, but this is temporary. Location is convenient to the University and major avenues in and out of town.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not Expected - The photos look really nice, but when you get to your room, there is a newer part of the hotel and an older part of the hotel. The photos are definitely from the newer part. The first room was in the older rooms in a corner that had two maintenance closets, was loud and smelled like trash. The room was outdated and stuffy, it didn't feel clean. Went to ask to upgrade and the desk agent was really nice, he upgraded me for free. I feel it's a sort of bait and switch with how the rooms are presented in the photos. The second room was in the newer tower, it was larger, more comfortable, felt cleaner, brighter, indoor access, and on an upper floor which I prefer, and it didn't smell like trash. I recommend just paying the extra $12 to get the room in the tower. It's worth it.

- Cassidy (4/5): It’s a motel. - I pulled up to the hotel not realizing it is actually a motel, which would have been fine had I not been traveling alone. My room was actually inside the hotel portion - so I was not too worried. But the ice maker on my floor was literally right outside the door to my room. Loud and annoying. Walked into my room and though it was clean, it was old and nasty. Stains in the shower, cheap pillows. I ended up leaving - didn’t even unpack my bag.

No pool even though in he ad , it said there was a pool-there were towels on the rack near the pool even though we were told pool had not been open since Covid. There were no cups or chair in the room. Had to pull night stand out to plug in phone and it was filthy underneath. The shower was designed so that water flowed in the dressing area and we had to use towels to mop up the water which left us short on towels. I would never recommend Best Western in Athens, GA

My tub was clogged whomever cleaned before didn't remove the previous rags from off the shower curtain because one fell once i moved the shower curtain and one was still hanging. but the guy at the front was vey nice.

- Jennifer H (4/5): - No hand towels in bathroom. No cups in bathroom. Bathtub drain took 30 minutes to drain after a 4 minute shower. Breakfast was a partially frozen omelet and out of waffle mix by 7:45 a.m.
- John (8/5): - Biggest problem for back units. Do not have elevators and stairs are quite long. Difficult for elderly with knee problems. Front units do have an elevator.

- Kimberly (4/5): - I can only base my review on the exterior entry rooms.The main tower may be better. My first room had small black bugs on the stained sheets. The bedding in second room still did not appear properly cleaned. There doesn't seem to be much care taken for the exterior rooms. Something seems wrong with the plumbing. I could hear noises from the adjoining rooms from the toilet and the one in my room didn't flush properly.The staff was friendly and accommodating. Nice TV in the room. Those were the only positives. I wouldn't book again.
- Jennifer (6/5): - It was clean and quiet. The lights by the bed did not work. No breakfast. The is a combo new hotel with motel. Our motel room was updated but not exactly the atmosphere we were expecting. That being said it was safe, clean and a place to stay for a night.

- Eric (6/5): Ok, not good, not horrible. - The joker was easy to find and within walking distance of downtown (20 minutes). But it’s an older property in need of renovation and maintenance. The a/c unit was very loud to the point we had to changed rooms, the staff was very accommodating and found us a new room. Mildew in the bath tubs and stains on the bedding.

- Kathleen (2/5): - Where do I start? It was college weekend and the hotel was full. We had 2 towels for 2 people for 3 nights. No cups in room and 1 small garbage can. They never cleaned the room for 3 days. The room had not been vacuumed or cleaned before we got there. We found potato chips, sequins and staples on the dirty filthy rug. My white socks were discolored from the rug. There was no one at the front desk at night and until 9am except an older security guard. The windows in the lobby were pour water from holes above them. On top of this, they jacked the prices 3 fold because of graduation weekend. I'm contacting Best Western to complain.

- Richard (4/5): Freshen up the Place - The place was smelly. Very much like the carpet needed to be clean. It looked not old, but could do with a ‘refresh’. Used linen sat in the lobby by the front desk my entire stay. The ‘breakfast’ was a joke. Very limited; and, the bagels were to old to be served. The person I came with, who had a separate, was concerned about getting into the bathtub….due to its ‘unclean’ appearance.

The room Was clean and beds were comfy. Check in was easy and so was parking. I was able to watch to downtown and didn’t feel unsafe! Great hotel especially for the price

Had to ask at desk how to access wifi as room instructions were inaccurate and phone did not call to front desk. Room in main tower was nice and spacious although bathroom was some disrepair (toilet not affixed to floor and wobbled). Could use some updates. However for the price I thought it was a good option.

Had some roaches crawl on the floor. Overall it felt super gross. If i would have been able to change hotels i would have. I would love a refund on this room

Coffee was great but the morning breakfast was terrible

- Christopher (6/5): Clean but lots of problems - On the positives front, there are some key things: room and bathroom were pretty much spotless (tower room), bed was comfortable, the room was very quiet despite a sold out property, and the location is pretty much in walking distance (1 mile basically to downtown) But there were lots of problems: Service is very lackluster to bad. Waited for a while for someone to arrive to check us in. We had no bath towels in the room when we got there, went down and asked for some at the front desk and the guy said he would get us some, asked for 4 but told the property was sold out so only could give me 2 (what if my room had more than 2 people?). Breakfast was a joke really. Would rather they just do 3-4 things well than what’s going on there. But instead it’s bagels but no cream cheese, horrible gas station premade burritos, dry microwaved eggs in an area that was messy. Coffee was fine on the breakfast floor but no coffee ever in the main lobby area despite a coffee area all set up. Back in the room had a few things break including the towel hook and then the shower knob was so loose the dripping from the shower would turn the temperature to scalding on its own. Never had maid service for a 2 night stay. Front desk guys kept their heads down when we would come and go I guess to avoid being asked to do something. Out of order vending machines in the lobby and lower floor and didn’t feel great that my car was safe in the parking lot. At over $200/nt we just expect some basics.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Questionable service - My stay was decent. On Monday Morning a gentlemen walked into my room without knocking or annuncing himself with a key. I was in the restroom getting dressed. This was extremely disturbing. The desk clerk was not very concerned when I addressed it. During check out I requested a receipt for my stay and the clerk told me that hotels.com would be emailing it to me and I have still not received a receipt. When I checked in the clerk told me that my tax exemption was on my account and that it would be reflected on my receipt when I checked out. Again my stay was decent but the customer service was poor.
- gordon (6/5): - The staff was friendly ish but the room was just dirty. Sheets and rooms somehow smelled like cigarettes and it seemed as though the room had just not been cleaned. Too busy a trip to hassle with the management about it but someone should know
- Jason (2/5): - Comforter was stained, towel in bathroom was dirty, shower didn’t drain properly so it filled up during shower, parts of room didn’t even look up to code (ie light switch cut thinner to fit in corner…weird). Pre-Paid for stay for two nights and checked out a day early. No refund
- Mary (2/5): - Upon arrival I was checked into the wrong room, then once I got into the right room that I paid for the towels had stains on them, there was food left in the fridge from someone that had previously stayed, the room smelled of mildew and urine, and the breakfast food was terrible. Definitely do not recommend here if you are a clean person.
