- Susan (6/5): - This is a 2 star hotel and it is good for that category. Quiet and has a nice outside shady deck for sitting. Took hours to cool room. Request for extra towels was handled well.

The weather did not permit us fo enjoy the lake which is walking distance from the hotel. But all in all I had an enjoyable time at Canyon Lake. I would love to go back to enjoy the lake.

Checking in and out was simple, and the owner is extremely hospitable. The water was low, but we still walked down and got our feet wet. We will be back!

At first phone just rang and rang and after a few times it transferred to another number and it was a full voicemail that you could not leave a message. There was no one at the property and looked like no one was staying there.

- Evan (6/5): Just Okay Stay - The location can't be beat. Boat ramp and lake are super close. The lodge itself left somewhat to be desired. 1 small window unit for A/C down a small hall in an alcove toward back of room away from the sleeping area. A ceiling fan over the bed helps cool the area. No way to blow air toward the bathroom which was quite stuffy. If you close the door on toilet for privacy, be prepared to sweat it out. A/C is only on when room is booked. So don't book last minute or room will be hot. TV service was nonfunctional on arrival. Found HDMI cable disconnected from cable box. Reconnected it to restore service. Even so, the TV service was spotty with channels going in and out. TV remote could change channels but not the volume. Had to get up to adjust volume if a channel was too loud or too quiet. WiFi, although free, did not reach our room. Likely there is a central access point with no range extenders or connections in the building we stayed in. Flooring looked new and was clean. No signs of pests. Bed was reasonably comfortable and seemed clean. Door to unit is street-facing. Bolt lock on door was difficult to lock from the inside and impossible with the key from the outside. Key to unit only worked on door handle lock. Even tested on bolt lock with door open and key would not turn. Any items left in room while we were out felt unsecured. Overall, it was better than sleeping outside. But if you're used to quality amenities and comforts, you may want to look elsewhere.

- Rachel A (4/5): - Our air conditioner didnt work for the forst few hours. After they "repaired" it, the ac had to remain on incessantly. It caused us all to be extremely cold, at all times. In addition, the entry door didnt actually close or lock. Anyone could push the front door lightly and it would open... my 4 hear old included. There were dead bugs all over the hood above the stove.
- G9929BHdianek (10/5): Great Customer Service - Huge shoutout to the Lodge at Turkey Cove proprietors for their excellent customer service. We were staying at friends' vacation house while our Canyon Lake home was undergoing renovations. We needed to find a place to go in April 2024 for the solar eclipse weekend, as our friends and their grown kids needed their house. I was worried about finding a place for us since I knew everything in the area was filling up quickly, and we needed a place where we could bring two dogs. Turkey Cove had one cottage left and it happened to be the one that allows pets. The staff was wonderful helping me secure that reservation. I later needed to make a change to that reservation and they were awesome accommodating my changes. The location is excellent, and like most places around Canyon Lake, the lodge staff are friendly and very helpful. I'll recommend The Lodge at Turkey Cove to anyone visiting Canyon Lake.

- Kimberly (10/5): Very Nice Getaway - Wonderful stay as always, this is our 4th time at this location. Quiet, peaceful, deer visiting in the mornings and evening. Access to the water for swimming and lake watching right on the property. Owner is very fast with any questions you may have.

There were 16 of us together on this trip and this was a great place for all of us to enjoy each others company and play in the water! The open areas for us to gather was perfect. The rooms were clean. It will be really nice when they all get updated.

- wolfdenTexas (10/5): Very Clean Well Situated - We really enjoyed our stay at the Turkey Cove. It was very clean, easy access to the lake and the Boat Ramp is very convenient, and so it's the Boat Parking. Our room bed was comfortable and bathrooms were cleaned. We had reserved the Family size Just Right but I didnt realize the room was upstairs. We had my mother in law with us and stairs are not easy for her anymore. John was very kind and solve our situation by re-accommodated us to where mom was on the bottom floor. Very courteous and easy communicating with. The drive to the property is very pretty. The Lodge is located high up so you get a nice view at night and of the lake during the day. At night the skies were so beautiful we were able to take some really good pictures. They are on my phone otherwise I would attach them here. Maybe I can edit my post later and attach the photos. The moon was so clear and visible from the property it was very conducive to photos. All and all we will be using this property when we come back. Very clean, comfortable bed, and ease access to the lake and boat. We enjoyed our stay and want to say; Thank you John for helping us with mom. We will see you when we come back hopefully once more before end of summer. We love Canyon Lake and you made The Lodge at Turkey Cove our place to stay when we come back.

- Choie82 (6/5): Better for grown ups - I’m torn about my rating and here’s why: 1. They allow day visitors for a fee so all of the extra cars/ trailers etc have to have somewhere to go and it’s in the grass where people set up their tents/ picnic tables etc and it’s not safe for young kids. 2. Owners are great and very helpful and always on site. They leave the utility closet open where the extra towels / blankets and ice machine are, so that’s nice. If you needed to use the washer and dryer I’m sure they would let you. 3. Water access is 50 yards away! Boat ramp in front of the property too. Can dock boats/jet skis etc right on the water! Trip hazard though if you’ve been drinking;) Location is everything! 4. Rooms were clean and spacious. Mini fridge, basic coffee maker and microwave provided as well as coffee / filters/ creamer etc. We had a king bed and it was a temperpedic I think, very comfortable. Window unit. Wash dishes in the bathroom sink . 5. No WiFi code provided in the room, maybe it was in the office but it was always locked when I tried to go. 🤷♀️ If I went back it would be during the week.
- MBX428 (4/5): LOCATION ISN’T EVERYTHING - Yes, it overlooks the lake, however, it sure needs some help. The room is dated, with old, small thin towels, and no blankets or hair dryer.. The A/C was not turned on, even though owners knew the exact time we were arriving. Locking the door was a real challenge, so that caused some security concern. I guess the worst part was how noisy the room was. We always knew when someone was walking by or going up/down the stairs. Pretty sure we were charged $200 because it was a night that a concert was playing close by, (at Whitewater Amphitheater), and most rooms were sold out. Certainly not worth $200!

- Robert (4/5): Don’t do it! - It took 2 calls to check in. No one in office. Room was very outdated but clean aside from the cockroach in the bathroom cabinet. View of the lake was great. Second night an entire family moved in next door, kids shook the entire building, and the parents sat outside ignoring kids. The whole building shook with every step next door! We were unable to sleep and had to leave at midnight. Night call manager took my call and offered a different room but I am sure all were equally bad and outdated. When I told him we expected a refund he said he couldn’t do that. Terrible, terrible stay and I am an easy going teacher just trying to get away for a few days! Don’t do it!

- 2perry777 (10/5): Good Old Fashioned Lodging - Love to go to Turkey Cove Lodge ! Clean rooms right on the water . Boat ramp number 2 is right next to it ! You can use the ramp , spend the day on the water and when you come in , your right there at your hotel ! Nice grounds for picnics , bar b q s , etc . Great views of the dam and lake from many of the rooms . John is always helpful and accommodating! So nice to stay at a mom and pop hotel , vs big box hotel . Not too many accommodations in this area to choose from . But this is one of our favorites.
