Guest Reviews
- marie (10/5): bohemian vintage style hostel - I liked the living room it was very bohemian and had a vintage look there was nothing that I didnt like
- Pamela (4/5): Very grungy, old, and run down. In need of renovation - I liked that there were few guests (it wasn't busy)
The staff were friendly Everything was old & run down, stained disgusting carpets, broken toilets, moldy smelling rooms. The alleyway is filled with trash and many homeless hang out.
The entire place needs a complete renovation - you just feel like you don't want to touch anything
- albewebe (8/5): - Staff very kind. Kitchen and loundry available Not clean
- Miquel449 (8/5): -
- Hasten (4/5): CHANGE THE THE ROOM DECOR - WIFI AND THE KITCHEN WASN'T BAD THE WASHROOM IS HORRIBLE, AND CARPETS IN THE ROOM NEED TO BE REMOVED, LEATHER CARPET LIKE THE ONE AT THE HALL WILL BE BETTTER
- Jim (10/5): - Staff 👍great
- Maxime (8/5): Good value and functional without major issues - Quiet location, central, fair price, almost all you need. It was perfect for me as a place to sleep, though there is a space downstairs to hang out that looked cozy too. Could "feel" a bit cleaner - but didn't expect more given the price. Also was hoping to find some type of coffee option in the morning to help with the jet lag but maybe it's just not the culture to have it right there (or maybe I missed it, the place is big).
- Valmir (10/5): -
- Back (10/5): Super clean room.easy check in. Awesome belpful staff. Value exceeded!!! - Tucked away in a mixed area of city. Some rough looking homeless people in area but where arent they in SanFran.

- Sadi (7/5): Pretty good stay. Would try again. - Room was nice. Amenities like fridge were good. Staff available upon arrivals. Lots of luggage storage. Doors were locked. Sink in room convenient. Decently quiet. Bathrooms weren't all working. Area kinda sketch. Halls kind of dark.
- Artem (7/5): - Nice 👍 Now it very expensive price (
Maybe because summer so soon ))))
- Brandon (9/5): -

- Webb (10/5): One of the true best hostels in the US. - Clean and well-managed. Probably the best hostel in the city and without a doubt a unique spot for the affluent and well-mannered traveler. N/a

- Artem (8/5): - Good
Hostel in SF the best I think Some roommates !)))) but ok
It San Francisco !)))
- Ameen (1/5): It’s very unsafe place to stay - I really haven’t liked anything with this properly It’s very dirty inside and it’s not safe place to stay into bathroom are very dirty to
- Martin (10/5): -
- Richard (6/5): On the cheaper side, room quality and bathroom was a bit low, but the hangout area/location is good. -
- Dylan (8/5): -

- Bruce (9/5): - Great location and staff. Quiet hostel that provided all needed amenities for my stay. The bathroom in the private room was a bit small and shower curtains were not clean. Bed Linen seemed pretty old as well. The heater didn't work in the room which made it cold at times.
- dc蔣志樺 (8/5): fun visit - it was quaint it was too quiet

- Tom (8/5): Good value - excellent staff - Location was really good and the staff were excellent - really helpful. Good value for money. Facilities and room was a bit dirty - nothing too major though
- Denis (10/5): Beautifully located with spacious common areas. - Location, location, location — two blocks from Union square. Huge common areas — living room and kitchen/dining room. Beds on one side (at least in Alcatraz room) — a lot of space. Everything was good
- javad (8/5): -
- Grace (5/5): The place made me feel kind of creepy. - There's a wash sink in the room. The staff was helpful and friendly. The overall facility is dim except the reception desk and kitchen areas. No elevator and the steps are high. The alley to the hostel didn't look safe after 9:00 pm - people hanging around,
- Bfreidiii (8/5): - Quaint hotel Shared bathroom
- Dimas (7/5): A very quiet and quaint stay in the ❤️ of SF - Incredibly friendly staff that for sure enhanced the the stay. The doors at the property need to be more quiet and easier to open and close.
- Bentzinger (1/5): FUYEZ !
- Michael (8/5): - I needed a quick place to stay after making a mistake with my flight. The price for the 4 bed to a room was very good. The hostel is clean and the staff was very helpful. You can't expect "quiet" when you're in the Union Square area, but I was happy with my stay.
- Kris (9/5): -
- Carolina (8/5): - It was good for the price
- Barry (10/5): Served it’s purpose - Big kitchen Nothing
- Susan (4/5): I was very disappointed with the fee for my stay considering the sub par accommodations. - Staff were friendly, informative, helpful The room was tiny, unkempt with sad heavily used towels and bedding. The room was right near front desk so I could hear in the lobby day and night, and the accommodations and facility were not what the pictures showed on the website or ad. The neighborhood was scary with unhoused individuals screaming outside the window all day and night. I could have gotten a nice clean safe hotel for the amount I paid for this room.
- Pierre (10/5): - .
- Jeremy (9/5): -
- Barry (9/5): Here 4 a good time not a long time - Big kitchen space
- Ersin (8/5): Very good -
- Bhaskaran (5/5): Enjoyed the proximity however facilities could be improved - Its proximity to tourist places Rooms are smaller
Rooms are average clean
Bathroom was very tiny
Kitchen was smelly
Size Not enough for a family
- Robert (10/5): - They let me stay last minute, wish it was a bit over 10am but it’s okay I woke up early.
- Cristian (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (8/5): Very good - For American standards of hostels, I think this one is pretty good. The beds have privacy curtains and the lockers underneath the beds were big enough to store all of my bags and luggage (need to bring your own lock).
The location is good if you want to be close to downtown SF and Union Square. It’s situated in a better area of Tenderloin where you will see some homeless people, but not as much as the worst part of Tenderloin where the sidewalks are lined with them. They’re generally harmless anyways.
WiFi was good, and beds had power outlets. My outlets were pretty loose but still worked to charge my phone. Bedrooms have a lock on the door, which depends on whether you and your roommates want to use it. Coin laundry and kitchen are available as well. Facilities were fine but some stuff didn’t work during my stay, like the light in my bed or sink in the bedroom, which wasn’t too big of a deal anyways. No towels provided. Showers don’t have soap or shampoo, and so you’ll have to bring your own or buy them at a nearby store, like the Target within walking distance that sells travel-sized toiletries.
- Bjulia33 (9/5): Superb -
- Bjulia33 (9/5): Superb -
- Theodore (10/5): Great -
- Henning (9/5): Superb - Central location and friendly staff, especially Mark.
- Sundar (7/5): Good - getting on top bunkers
most of the washrooms were not working
- Leandro (10/5): - Great
- Christophe (8/5): Very good - unbeatable quality/price ratio for the location not the most clean
the street doesn't inspire safety
- Christian (6/5): - I loved the old charm of the hostel and the large kitchen, however, the bathroom and shower facilities needed updating.
- Villarreal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerry (10/5): - Staff very welcoming and helpful. Sturdy and comfortable beds. Big kitchen with lots of fridge space and pots, pans, and cookware to use.
- Burgly (4/5): Good if passing though.Run down. - Nothing Run down.Bathroom on my floor didn't work.
- Kirsty (10/5): Great Location, Comfy Double Room, Friendly Staff 👌. - Great location, amazing comfy double room & bathroom, staff were so great esp. Mark, such a dude. Very happy with our stay. Great memories we'll cherish forever ❤️.
- Wu (8/5): Very good -
- Lo (2/5): - Na
- Herman (10/5): - Great
- Dragan (9/5): Superb -
- Pujara (8/5): It was brief but I felt comfortable sleeping and that’s - First hostel ever. Got lucky with just one roommate in a 6 bed. Sleeping situation was better than the amenities( bathroom and shower). Bed had a shelf light, plenty of underbed storage, and my favorite privacy curtains. Did not check out kitchen. Sink in the room. Needs more shelving in spaces like the bathroom and shower to set down and hang my stuff.
Shared bathrooms with the entire floor but that didn’t bother me. Quite outdated but it’s nice. Blanket not the most preferable.
- Ruben (4/5): Last resort - Loud, uncomfortable, gross
- Mursaleen (8/5): Very good -
- Joshua (10/5): It was very radical - All the art in the place looked very cool
- Ashraf (1/5): Bad -
- Holly (6/5): Pleasant - The location of this hostel is fairly convenient if you need to be close to local and regional public transit - but it's not as close to the BART and Muni stations as other downtown hostels. The shared living room area is really cool. Quiet location on a side alley. Beds are nice, with reading lamps, shelves for belongings, and storage space underneath. The kitchen was not very well equipped. Sinks in some of the W/Cs did not have soap for hand washing. Towels for showering are not included for guests. I would opt for a different hostel next time.
- Shu (1/5): Bad -
- Samira (1/5): Avoid - Dirty, very smelly, and in a shady alleyway
- Luisa (7/5): Good -
- Artem (9/5): Superb - Very good the kitchen is closed after 10
- Radel (8/5): Great price, great location - Location It didn’t feel clean.
- Duncan (9/5): It provided a cost-effective base for a solo traveller to get to know San Francisco. - Amazing location so close to Union Square. The community kitchen and lounge were great. The staff and others staying there were very knowledgeable and helpful and helped me make the most of my time in San Francisco. The room was great for the price. Not being able to stay in San Francisco for longer.
- Alex (8/5): Very good price, for a very good service. - The staff is really great. My mattress was too thin.
- Md Hasan Ashik (8/5): - The staffs were excellent. Very helpful.the shared lobby and the kitchen are good too. The 6 bed shared room where I stayed were full of worn out beds, did not appear to be ‘clean’ enough. Not enough spaced to hang out used clothes. Maybe, considering the low cost, it should be accepted.
- Maria (6/5): Pleasant - Good location, good money value Poor blankets and was not very clean
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing!! - The Adelaide reminds me of Grandma's house - if Grandma lived in a super cool old mansion. I love the relaxed atmosphere here. The staff are super nice and very attentive, and other travelers that stayed here were friendly and chill. The Adelaide (IMHO) is the best Hostel in SF for remote working - From the Huge Lounge with lots of room and nice private and quiet areas to work in, to the outside Garden at the back of the property, off the HUGE kitchen. You can buy food and cook here and store things in the huge fridges. The bunk beds are super comfy and are very sturdy. You won't feel any movement from your 'bunkie' above or below you, and the privacy curtain is the best! Showers and bathrooms are very clean and working well. The 3rd floor bathroom has the biggest shower head I have ever seen!!!! As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe both at the Hostel and in the surrounding area. The Hostel is very central to everything you need and walkable 24/7.
- Neil (8/5): Very good - Good location for our needs
- Shannyn (5/5): Passable - Location Uncomfortable beds and weird smell
- Stefanie (9/5): Superb -
- Neil (9/5): comfy little unit well located - location
- Natalia (10/5): what I needed in SF - Well located, nice staff, easy check in and Good shared areas. Little cockroaches down the lockers which are very hard to remove I believe but it would help if they just cover that floor with something else!
- Estefania (1/5): The worst hostel I’ve been to - The guy that did the check out was nice The lady that did the check in, they didn’t give towels, there were bugs in the bed and floor, no AC it was so hot and horrible, shower was dirty, too dark
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (6/5): Decent! - The vibes are good! Room was decent. For a young 20’s something it’s a nice spot to be with friends and meet people. I just personally have a more bougie taste now that I’m mid 30’s, and it’s not the hotels fault for that. So if you see some lower stars, that’s why. Super nice staff and common areas.
- Gabriel (8/5): Very good -
- Shawn (10/5): Amazing Atmosphere . - Very Confy Accommodations . Lovely .
- Seth (10/5): - I was able to shop at a farmers market that's not too far from there. Kitchen is open until 10pm.
