Guest Reviews
- Rochelle (8/5): 15 min from I-77, but the room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. - Beds were very comfortable, room was clean Bathroom could be updated
- Seirra (10/5): -
- Moni D (9/5): Very great property and economical. - Very clean, hot breakfast, and great customer service. N/A

the staff friendly
breakfast was good
- James (10/5): - The room was so nice and clean. The beds were so comfortable. The receptionist was so sweet.
- M (8/5): We would be happy to stay here again! - The staff was wonderful - very friendly and helpful. When we arrived on Friday afternoon, there were complimentary bottles of water, microwave popcorn, cookies and fruit that we could take to the room. Most of all, the beds and bathroom felt very clean. Some parts of the hotel are showing its age but seems to be in the process of being updated. Also, exterior doors (away from the front desk) were unlocked during the day. Many hotels now have a key card entrance for heightened security.
- Hertsch (10/5): Excellent stay - Excellent caring and helpful staff.
Wonderful breakfast options
Quiet and peaceful
Great central location
Comfortable bedding and temperature
Very clean and well stocked The only thing I think could have possibly made it better is if there was a crossover allowing entry for north bound traffic.
- Drema (10/5): - Hospitality was excellent. Staff friendly and place was clean and very inviting. Great Job staff. N/a
- Laura (8/5): -
- Dameka (5/5): The stay was ok. - Location Mattress was bloody had to switch rooms. No mattress cover which should be a zip cover to help prevent bed bugs. The water could be hotter.
- Nanette (8/5): - Quiet
- Lisa (10/5): Excellent service - The location is easy to find, easy to to get to everything/everywhere The tub although it had a slip resistant bottom still was slippery and my friend and I are both older and need to be careful with those thing
- David (9/5): -
- Falisha (4/5): -
- Tina (7/5): -
- Promise (9/5): - The location was very nice and quiet. Really close to the university which was a plus for me. Was new to the area and the staff was great. The bathtub looked a little outdated and dirty.
- Aaron (6/5): It was a good stay - The waffle maker timer didn't work Old Heat/ air conditioning
- Lori (10/5): -

- Kenyatta (10/5): -
- Linda (9/5): I would stay again because it was so clean and comfortable. A comfortable stay! - The room was very clean. The beds were very comfortable and very clean. Your front staff when we checked in was exceptionally friendly. Your housekeeping staff were so nice and did a wonderful job preparing the room. I asked for a wakeup call on the morning of June 8th and did not receive a call. That could have been a problem as we were meeting family and friends that morning. Fortunately, I was awake at 5:30. Also, when we went down for coffee at 6:15, it was cold and we had to ask for fresh coffee to be made. The person never apologized and did not seem very happy about our request. Otherwise, the breakfast was ok. Certainly, not something to write home about. A good light in the bathroom would be appreciated, as well as a good mirror elsewhere in the room Perhaps you should install a wake up call machine so the request could be put in and then no one is responsible for waking your guests.
- Rhonda (9/5): -
- Josiah (9/5): Clean and comfortable. - Bed was comfortable. Shower was hot. And staff was friendly. No complaints.

- Christopher (10/5): - The easy access and convenience of being able to get on 19.
- Karen (8/5): -
- DAVID (10/5): GREAT STAFF - EVERYBODY FROM THE FRONT DESK TO THE LADIES WHO ATTENDED THE BREAKFAST WERE EXCEPTIONAL!
WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK WHEN WE ARE BACK VISITING.

- Matthew (9/5): - ony had the waffle and coffee so can't say much about the food. was very clean, for the area it was in a lot nicer than expected. the bed was super comfy. the shower was very modern and up to date.
- Robert (10/5): -
- Carolyn (8/5): -
- Fred (6/5): - Breakfast was good ! Pool was closed . Staff was nice
- Raul (8/5): - Great staff and for the money decent value. Beds were very comfortable. Hotel is bit aged but clean. Thank you.
- Freeman (10/5): -
- James (4/5): - The hotel is very old, in shoddy condition, no elevators, and the room smelled. The staff was friendly and kind.
- April (7/5): It was pleasant stay for the night we stayed. - The breakfast was good. I had cereal and juice. There was nice selection of items The waffle maker and the toaster kept shorting each other out while in use at breakfast but I just opted for something else. The room did have stained sheets on the bed and I was not a fan of that .
- Shan (10/5): -
- Mark (8/5): Friendly staff and nice travel motel to spend a night or two - I work full time with Bluefield University and have been staying at this location for 20 years. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the rooms are nice for an overnight (or two) stay for work. Tearing up the sidewalks outside during our visit but at least they were not working at night. :)
- Anesha (9/5): -
- Catherine (2/5): - Loud, disrespectful guests, noisy,no one to calm the raucous down. I will never stay there again.
- Kolomiichuk (8/5): -
- Mary (9/5): Definitely would stay here again when in the area. - The staff was friendly, Jordan checked us in and she was awesome. Crystal checked us out and she was great too!!
The breakfast was good with a nice selection to choose from. No handicap parking on the side of the building we were staying at
- cynthia (6/5): Previous reviews were good but... - Bed way too high...am 5'4 and had to boost myself into it. Breakfast was eggs and sausage as the protein...as someone who cant eat those items this was a problem. They were waiting on the truck to get more peanut butter and yogurt.
- Bobbi (2/5): - Room 108 had bed bugs. Terrible. And because i failed to take a picture of it, Expedia wont give me a refund. We left after checking in, but did not stay the night
- John (4/5): Stay if you must. - The bed was comfortable. That’s literally all that’s good. Musty stinky rooms. No elevator, you must lug all your things up stairs. Bathroom vanity is so small you can’t place a toiletry kit on it. Plumbing makes loud screeching noises. Wall outlets are wore out. Plugs fall out of the sockets. The breakfast is absolutely pitiful. This place has no right charging what they do. I’ve stayed here a few times over the years due to convenience to an event I attend but no more. The property has continued to decline without needed upgrades and renovations.
- Jeffrey (8/5): Very good - still dealing with an overcharge of $147.00
- Stacey (2/5): - Staff was helpful and understanding.
- Stephanie (10/5): Would definitely stay again if in the area - First of all the staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and had all we needed. It’s sort of in the middle of nowhere, but as two women traveling we felt very safe here. No complaints
- Mark (10/5): - Excellent stay and very friendly staff.
- Adron (10/5): - They've made huge improvements in staff, cleanliness, painting, carpet, the food area. They fixed the broken air in the dining/lobby area. It looks like improvements are still taking place, but the staff they have right now is great! The staff are friendly and attentive ,several offered assistance if needed. The breakfast attendant did a great job. She kept the area well stocked, and super clean. We appreciate the changes and improvements. Keep up the good work Comfort Inn Blue Field.
- Anesha (8/5): Very good - Great value overall My room was located at the end of the hall near the exit doors. I could hear ppl slamming the doors late at night.
They did lock the doors so that I would be disturbed anymore
- Leslie (10/5): - Nice and clean. Pool was closed due to leak which was disappointing
- Tanya (7/5): Good -
- Mitch (10/5): I travel to that area 6-7 times a year and would not stay at another place. - The breakfast buffet was excellent. The selection is varied and delicious. The "hot food' is hot and the "cold food & drink" is cold. The buffet is one the main reasons I stay there. The staff is professional and helpful. N/C
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Berrios (7/5): Good - Everyone was very accomodating. There were oversights... They won't clean unless you ask. A first for me. Also, there was no tray for the coffee maker so you could not make coffee. When I requested one I was told that there was none. The good news was there was coffee in the dining room.
- Jana (1/5): Always comfy, convenient and friendly staff. - The bed was comfortable. Everything else. This was a miserable stay for us from start to finish. We had a two night stay. No one advised us that the hotel would be undergoing major renovations during our visit. We did not have a car for this portion of our trip. We were dropped off at 11pm to find the hotel lobby and eating area completely ripped up and dust everywhere. The employees did not even wipe down the registration desk from layers of dust (even though the workers were long gone then). We checked in and went to our room via a concrete and dusty hallway. In the morning there was little to choose from for breakfast since the eating area was being worked on. Coffee, fruit and donut. Not what we were expecting. We had no car to go anywhere else. There's nothing within walking distance. We were picked up later for our day's events, only to return late again that night to circumstances no different, perhaps only dustier. The following morning my husband was gone after by a pitbull that belonged to one of the construction workers. No muzzle, no leash. He had to run for it to get away. No one attempted to assist. The desk staff shrugged it off. Breakfast was the same the second day. Day 2 our tv stopped working. No one could figure out why. Don't think they actually cared to. When we checked out, we expressed our dissatisfaction with our visit. The two young girls at the desk were very lackadaisical, said they weren't managers (no mgr on duty that morning) and we should call back as there was nothing they could do for us. We were asking for a discount as the visit we had was NOT worth the full price we paid. I'm still looking for a partial refund.
I'm holding my breath on that point.
We often stay at Comfort inns with no issues.
This visit was a complete disaster.
We were told to stay here by locals as the best hotel to stay in the area. It's not saying much for the area.
- PATRICK (8/5): - Staff friendly, continental bfast was awesome!
- Heidi (2/5): - I’ve been humbled but if I could leave 0 stars I would. Upon booking this hotel I only chose so to be in a “decent “ hotel and drive 1.5 more hours to my destination as I was informed Welch, WV was a no go terrible nasty place. So I chose a closer nicer place per Expedia ratings and some reviews!! Make sure you check the original sites! I learned my lesson! Upon arrival I realized the pics must be old! This place is run down! And to top it off I think they called it construction! The floors covered in Sheetrock paint dirt nothing covered in the so called lobby breakfast area. The customer service was busy but finally got to me after a 10 hr drive. I had booked for two days! No ma’am. If I could have turned canceled and left I would have. I gave it the benefit of the doubt got my room key and upon entering the room, it was a terror of a nightmare. I called Home crying so bad that I went to the front desk and told them that I would only be staying for that night. Let’s put it this way. I didn’t even sleep in the bed. Speaks volumes!
- Robert (3/5): Poor - N/A The TVs suck you don't get all the channels and fuzzy not clear at all everything else was great
- Constance (10/5): - Great
- Colleen (2/5): Terrible - Property was heavily under construction and should have been closed for renovation. I was not informed in advance. First room I was given was in a hall with town up floors and no room numbers. Front desk staff was on the phone with owner/manager and would not help me until she finished lengthy conversation about something unrelated. Bathroom hadn’t been cleaned (or maybe was being used by construction crew ?) Construction crew was in the hallway shouting back and forth to each other at 1:45 am and 3 am. No working tv. Worst hotel stay I’ve had in a good long while.
- Kristen (6/5): Stay elsewhere - It's under renovation. My bad luck. Worse, the walls are paper thin which means the very loud conversation at 2 am by a bunch of men was particularly unwelcome, as was the loud knocking on someone's door.
I know the hotel is not responsible, but if you come to Bluefield, consider a b and b or an air b and b. This cheap hotel was not worth saving a few dollars.
- Marta (2/5): - There was construction going on during our stay. All of the floors were ripped up in the hallways, plastic sheets hanging, and dust everywhere. Definitely not worth the price and would not have stayed had we have known.
- Scott (7/5): It met our needs and expectations. - It was clean. Staff was helpful when needed. It is owned by the same people who own the Quality Inn in Bluefield, WV. Sorry to have found out that information. We had stayed at the Quality many times, despite its almost abysmal conditions. The reason for staying there in the past is its close proximity to family we were visiting. The place was a joke during Hurricane Helene; no power, no water. Almost third world conditions. No allowances were made for the inconveniences. That place should be sold to someone who ACTUALLY cares about the comfort and safety of their guests. The condition of this Comfort Inn was head and shoulders above the Quality and the staff was quite helpful.
- Jeni (5/5): Will not stay here again - The beds are comfortable and clean. There was a dirty cleaning cloth left by staff on the side of the bathtub. The furniture is getting very worn looking. Though there were waffles or toast or cereal, the breakfast area looked forlorn. The trash cans in the breakfast area were allowed to overflow before being emptied. The muffins were gone and then suddenly re-stocked thirty minutes into breakfast. The hot food looked inedible and I couldn’t go near it. The staff didn’t give a professional appearance. They seemed to be in their own world.
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant - Dirty bedding , breakfast was cheap and ran out
- Tracy (2/5): - Hairs found in bed
No shampoo in bathroom
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional Stay - Exceptional service, products, and people. Would stay again! Oh! And excellent breakfast options for Stapleton hangover! God bless you!
- Mandzak (6/5): Pleasant - The maintenance guy was very friendly and helpful The bed was not comfortable. The bathroom was small.
- Dorothy (10/5): - A little off the beaten path, but quiet.
- Williams (6/5): The staff here was wonderful. But this town is not for me - First morning had to find someone to get the laddle for gravy. Second morning coffee pot empty. Chocolate milk would be nice ALL mornings. Eggs was cold, no bacon. Sausage was horrible. BUT GRAVY AND BISCUITS WAS GOOD. I would have like it if around 11pm some fool would have not kept slamming the doors.
- Joanne M (6/5): - The bed was very comfortable but the smoke detector was hanging down
- Mary (5/5): Passable - Breakfast was ok We had to ask for more tissue, no extra in bath. Heat was continually warm . We had set on 52 at one point. Ran continues.
- Marla (6/5): Stay somewhere else - The room smelled like mildew and there was hair in the bathroom.
- Julie (10/5): Great Stay - Stay was great. Clean and well maintained. Evening desk guy was fabulous. Friendly and very helpful
- Julie (10/5): Very good - Clean / friendly NA
- Pickett (10/5): Exceptional -
- Morin (10/5): Very content with my stay. - The views.
- Hope (6/5): - Nice and quiet. Needs major upgrades to some of their amenities.
- Kathy (1/5): We were not able to stay dur to hotel not having power - We never stayed. When we arrived the hotel had no power and could not check us in so we had to keep driving.
- Robert (8/5): - Woman at the front desk was wonderful
- Wetzel (1/5): Bad - I made this reservation for Oct 6th , but Booking.com got the date wrong which explains why the hotel didn't have our reservation when we arrived. Booking.yea? BOOKING.BOO. OBVIOUSLY WE WON'T BE USING IT AGAIN.
- Robert (10/5): - A great place to stay. Very helpful staff, clean facility and good maintenance.
- J (8/5): - Comfortable bed, nice staff
- George (1/5): Hotel was overbooked. No room was available for us. -
- Sherri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jessica (1/5): No power! Booked online and it did not list no power. I did not stay - No power. I didn’t stay. Booked online and it did not list no power
