David (10/5): - This is in the center of the first block in Old Town. The pace is quiet even though there are a lot of people in the street. There are no cars in the street. And, the walls are stone and with doors closed you can't hear any noise. The place is spotless clean. And, the breakfast is the best I've had any in hotel in over 20 countries! The host was great to anticipate anything that I could think of wanting! I'd come back here just to stay here!
Letty (10/5): - This hotel was lovely. Our room had a deck facing right onto the harbor of the Venetian old town and it was gorgeous. The breakfast that was served to our rooms daily as part of the daily rate was delicious. It was right in the heart of everything so amazing restaurants and shops were right out the door. The downside to that is it was loud at night with the bars below but it didn't keep us up after the long busy days. Also there are no cars in the old town so if you plan to rent a car, prepare for a bit of a hike to park. But worth it for the location and great place.

Anda (8/5): - Belmondo is one of the hotels situated in the port area of Chania. The location is truly great, right in the middle of everything, with rooms overlooking the water. The main inconvenience is that there is practically no parking in the vicinity, so you'll have to walk for at least 15-20 minutes to the nearest parking lot. Not to say, that even if you find a spot you'll risk a fine because most parkings in this area are "for residents only"! There is also no elevator, which is pretty common for the old buildings in this area, so be warned if you carry heavy luggage or have bad knees. The rooms are kind of romantic and nice, but the furnishings are very outdated and truly worn out. When it comes to cleanness, that leaves much to be desired. Bed covers are truly old and stained. And while they claim to clean your room every day, you don't really see much of it. All they practically do is change your towels (only if you ask for it!) and straighten up your bedding. They don't clean the floor, the toilet, the shower, or the sink. We stayed there for a week and in a week not even once the toilet was cleaned! Personnel is also a little edgy if you dare ask for something. One evening I remember asking the receptionist if I could get a set of clean towels because I forgot to leave them on the floor in the morning. He asked me if it has been 3 days since I had them changed because they don't change the towels every day. In the end he gave me new towels, but not after a little fuss.
ROBERT (10/5): - Excellent room and service, breakfast on the balcony overlooking the harbour was a very nice touch, for us the loud club music wasn’t so good. Overall we had an excellent stay.
Janet (6/5): - We were a family of 4 adults staying in room 202 top floor. The separate bedroom was ok,but the room as you entered on arrival with 2 single beds was very dark and drab.This was the main room with fridge and tea/coffee also it was the room with the only access for bathroom facilities just off it.This was not ideal for 4 adults sharing as there was no privacy,having to disturb mum and dad sleeping to use the bathroom of a night is not ideal.I did express my concerns the first day because the room was not what we were expecting and also there were no sun loungers on the balcony as shown in the photos.We we’re told none of the rooms had sun loungers which was a big disappointment.We definitely pulled the short straw,with loud music playing till 3am and only ever getting 2 cups,2 plates at breakfast on the tray when there was 4 of us,but we got around it using serviettes and 2cups that were in the drawer already.I would have liked another room but the hotel was fully booked. I will say that on a positive note,the hotel is in a great location with lovely views and friendly staff and they lent us an iron and ironing board for the week.

Helen (10/5): Hidden Gem - This hotel is really something else. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a beautiful welcoming lady. The room was large and booked the cheaper option as only for one night. It has its own private balcony and you dial reception in the morning and they fetch it up to your balcony. Amazing. We parked in a multi story carpark onky an 8 min walk and cost €25. Will be back.

Alf (10/5): Kommer gärna tillbaka - Hotel Belmondo ligger i direkt anslutning till den gamla venetianska hamnen i Chania, perfekt med närhet till såväl sevärdheter som restauranger. Personalen är mycket vänlig och hjälpsam på alla sätt. Det är ett mycket litet hotell med en personlig och behaglig atmosfär. Jag har varit här förut, och kommer med all säkerhet tillbaka.

Within a block there’s Namaste India restaurant just in case. Excellent front desk. We had a rental car. Parking is impossible. When I asked owner he gave me “Talos Square “ free parking. We drove for hour to find parking. Actually paid parking is even closer and 10 euros per night and readily available. Other than this recommendation it’s 5 *.

The hotel is conveniently located for dinning, shopping, taking boat tours and visiting the harbour. Very charming place and well mantained. Not related to the hotel but something to consider if you are renting a car, the parking around the area is crowded and the walking with the luggage from the parking to the hotel could be difficult.

Værelset var stort og nyrestaureret med fantastisk badeværelse. Super morgenmad med friskpresset juice, æg, brød, kage, græsk yoghurt og frugt mm. hotellet ligger lige ud til en af de smalle gamle gader. Kommer gerne igen.

The staff, including Dora, Vasiliki and the lady who does the cleaning (sorry, I do not know her name) are all absolutely lovely. The rooms are beautiful, the view astounding and the breakfast phenomenal. It sets you up for the whole day! This is truly a wonderful find and I know we will be back.

Verified traveler (10/5): - Chania is a magical place and the hotel is located at the center of old town. Staffs are friendly and helpful. In-room breakfast was served very morning. The only thing need to be aware of staying at the hotel is that driving in the old town is not allowed and the free public parking lot is about 5 minutes away. Before your arrival, ask the hotel is give you detailed information. It’s an easy walk but the parking lot is usually full starting early evening as people from surrounding areas eating and visiting restaurants and shops in the old town.

The breakfast was different every day with a good variety of breads, fruits and yogurt among the offerings. Wonderful women working the reception desk, very helpful and pleasant.

The one with its own balcony on the top floor was particularly stunning and well worth the extra if you can afford it.

The hotel is central to everything in the 'Old Town'. The only thing I would have liked to know before arriving there is that you cannot take your car into the 'Old Town' and parking it somewhat difficult to find.

Diana (10/5): Excellent location overlooking the old harbour - We will definitely go back to Chania old town and stay at Belmondo. The staff were all friendly, and it was such a treat to have our breakfast brought to us on our balcony. The only things to be aware of are: it can be quite noisy at night as you’re right in the thick of it on that corner overlooking the harbour. Also it’s north facing so you don’t get direct sunlight onto your balcony (this suited us) and finally the beds are quite hard, I was fine, but my partner struggled.
Rod (6/5): 5 night stay off peak season (October) - We had a good stay for seeing Chania, location right in the centre of the old town- could have been noisy in peak season, but in October it was fine apart from one night when we had to ask the occupants of the room next door to keep their noise down after midnight. There are no staff at the hotel after 10pm. We seemed to have by far the smallest room, bedroom very cramped - others seemed much more spacious. Breakfast served in the room (no common area), which we had to eat on the balcony as there was no-where else - not sure what would have happened if it had rained, would have to sit on the bed? The harbour view rooms have a great view - the city view ones look at a dilapidated wall. So would look for something else if we went back to the city, or insist on one of the much better rooms.
carol (10/5): A gem of a place - Hotel was just what we expected, lots of character, upgraded to suite which overlooked the old town. Sometimes a little noisy but then you are right in the old town close to shops and bars. Breakfast served on your balcony every morning was awesome, such a diligent and the staff are all wonderful, Maria, Ria and Athena . Lovely holiday.

Leonard (10/5): The bill Moondew was a great place to stay - The staff at the Belmondo hotel were excellent. Ria and Maria were the greatest hostess ever! The location was fantastic and close to the water. It is located very close to the plaza square fountain, wonderful shopping, Starbucks coffee and it is right next to an excellent 5 star pizza and pasta restaurant.
Mary (10/5): Nice hotel and friendly staff next to the harbor. - I stayed at the Belmondo Hotel while on business in Chania. Maria and Athina were both very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They were very accommodating and willing to help with anything that I needed. Athina also recommended some very good restaurants that were close by. The hotel is located on a pedestrian street in old town Chania in the middle of shopping and restaurants, and right next to the harbor. It's an ideal location if you want to stay in this part of town. The hotel serves a delicious and very filling breakfast at an extremely reasonable price on the balcony of your room; this was a highlight. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. There is some noise from the restaurants along the harbor area at night, so you might be affected by that if you are a light sleeper. I had some jet lag and was often awake at night, so I could hear the noise, but it was muted; if it weren't for the jet lag, it would not have kept me up. I would definitely stay here again!
Suzanne (10/5): Fantastic stay at a fantastic hotel. - Fantastic location. Fantastic room. Hotels.com website is wrong. The beautiful balcony room that shows water, is the Sea view room, NOT, city view. We had the SeaView room and it was fantastic. Maria was so friendly and helped us with our every need. The bus inf center gave us a map and showed us how to do the easy 8 minutes walk into town. Our room was quite even overlooking the main harbor activity.
Jack (10/5): Quaint hotel in old city of Chania - The room we stayed in was large and comfortable. The breakfast was more than ample. The drawback to the hotel is that it is not accessible from the street. Our cab driver left us off in the rain at the opposite side of the old city from the hotel in the pouring rain. There are closer spots as we later found. However, the staff at the hotel are very accommodating and have great suggestions on what to do and where to eat. Thanks Ria for all your help!
Sue (10/5): Good hotel , great location - Hotel sent welcome email on booking which was nice touch. Offered to organise taxi transfer and great porter carried our luggage as cars can't park that near. Lovely balcony where breakfast was served. Excursion to Samaria Gorge organised well. Staff friendly and helpful- particularly Maria.
Anne (10/5): Charming family-sized room - This is a great location, on the water in Old Town. Our "suite" comfortably accommodated two parents and two children, with two rooms and a bathroom, which was large. The receptionist let us heat up leftovers for dinner in the kitchenette and we ate on the deck off our room. We had a hard time finding the hotel. You can't drive up to the hotel; instead park near the water and walk a short way. We enjoyed a terrific dessert (Bougatsas?) at a restaurant on the water (Nama).

Verified traveler (8/5): Great location right in the heart of Old Town - Chania is a cute and charming town with a great atmosphere and vibe. It had beautiful beaches and the local food was amazing particularly the Cretan salad. The room had great views of the port where our breakfast was served every morning. Breakfast was adequate and staff were hospitable and friendly. Centrally located right in the heart of restaurants and cafes.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, a wonderfully easy going and personal experience. Located at the edge of the beautiful old town and right next to the harbour, Belmondo was fabulous value for money.
Teemu (10/5): Right in the middle of it - This small hotel has a lot going for it. The location in the middle of the old Venetian Harbour is extraordinary. The room decoration is simply superb. The best two rooms with their small balconies to the seaside provide a perfect breakfast setting. And, by the way, it's not noisy even if there are cafes and restaurants just underneath it. The only trouble is getting your luggage there due to the driving limitations in the old town, but even that is manageable.
Elaine (10/5): Anniversary in the Belmondo - We were very satisfied with this Hotel. We were welcomed with a drink, the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Because it was our Anniversay the next day they gave us a complimentary breakfast on our terrace, so much food we did not need to eat again till evening. We were on the Harbour so we were able to walk to all the places we wanted to visit. We highly recommend this Hotel.
fletlocke (10/5): Short Break - Just got back afer having spent 5 nights at the Belmondo got to say it exceeded our expectations. The staff were delightful, room lovely with a great big balcony lovely breakfast fresh bread, cake ham cheese yoghurt honey fresh orange juice boiled egg yummy location was just perfect slap bang in the middle of everything. Looking forward to our next trip there in May 2014. L & A Cyprus
