- Anthony (9/5): Happy to book again! - Location with parking Nothing
- Sharna (10/5): -
- Gathergood (10/5): Excellent stay, we would definitely rebook over any other hotel in Bath and would love to return! - Hotel is wonderfully quirky, I had to take photos of the decor, all very well curated. Upgraded both our rooms on arrival. Both had great views. Fabulous breakfast which was ordered and served to us. Complementary waters, soft drinks, coffee machine, fruit choice and a sweetie bar. On departure we were given water and homemade flapjacks for the trip home. All the staff were a credit to the hotel. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Bath, the centre of which was only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Parking charge of £20 per night seems a little steep but we did appreciate the freedom to park close to the hotel and not having to worry about the car being parked elsewhere.
- Janine (4/5): Ok - Nice location Parking was ridiculously tight
- Derek (7/5): We enjoyed ourstay - Very good Lots of stairs
A bit confusing
- Karen (10/5): Excellent in every way - Location, ambience, extremely comfortable Nothing
- Geoff (10/5): - Everything! The Bird was an excellent hotel for us. Clean, quirky, modern bohemian vibe. Loved staying there..!!! Maybe the bathroom sink could have been smaller so I could get closer to the mirror for shaving, but I’m being picky here.
- Wendy (8/5): - Quirky and fun. V helpful staff Double bed too small
- alexis (10/5): This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in, will 100% stay again. Beautiful, clean, friendly hotel. - The staff were attentive and very friendly, all the added extras made it that extra special.
- william (8/5): Smart hotel, well located, does the job - location, parking
- Lean (8/5): Overall an enjoyable stay in a quality hotel - Friendly , helpful staff. Attractive surroundings.Delicious breakfast with homemade yoghurt and muesli a real winner. Quality towels, bedding and comfortable bed. Complimentary treats really appreciated. Unfortunately for us as we're older and less agile, the walk in shower I requested and the toilet and washbasin were actually in the bedroom itself and not in a separate bathroom. Although toilet and shower were either side of the wash stand, they were small and awkward for us to use. We'd definitely choose a different room next time.
- Ivan (8/5): - Brilliant staff, wonderful location, car parking The stairs
- Piper (10/5): -
- Mark (9/5): Very enjoyable - It was well located My room was small, but in future I will go for a larger room
- Ruth (10/5): The best !! - Very stylish decor and staff couldn’t do more to make our stay memorable Nothing
- Melanie (9/5): -
- Paul (10/5): Just simply perfect, a wonderful oasis of tranquility and rest, a perfect get away from modern - The food, both dinner and breakfast was to a very high standard and was good value for money. Nothing...it was perfect
- Deborah (8/5): Generally a good stay - Well situated for Bath centre. Slightly odd bathroom facilities. Especially the loo. Very small.
- Christopher (8/5): Overall pleasant stay & positive experience but do check the parking issue point before you book ! - Nice, upmarket hotel and kind, hospitable team. Excellent breakfast.
The overall stay was pleasant and experience positive however notable negative issues are below. Watch out if you are booking because this place has parking.
Misleading information on this site states "Private parking is possible on site (reservation is not needed) "
Parking is in fact LIMITED on a first come first served basis and they only tell you this via email a few days before.
We had to park elsewhere which caused great inconvenience on check in and check out.
Not sound proofed so could hear extractor fans from other room and the piping to the bathroom heater was very noisy and didn't stop all night.
- Jeremy (10/5): Great stay, staff were very nice and welcoming,no complaints - Room was great comfy and spacious. Breakfast was freshly cooked and served hot. Location was prefect for walking to town . The only thing that could improve is the dinner menu to have more variety,
- Michael (10/5): -
- Dan (8/5): We would definitely stay again - All the staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful, they are a massive asset to the hotel.
The location is great, you can leave the car in the car park and walk into the city everyday. The rooms are quite small as is the shower cubicle. The grout and mastic work needs cleaning/redoing.
- John (10/5): Quirky in a good way, staff pleasant, efficient, everything relaxed. - Location handy walkable to town All good
- Celia (10/5): We love this hotel - the building and situation is lovely, but the staff are the jewel in the crown. - The staff are what make the Bird special. Their welcome, friendliness and keenness to help are outstanding. Breakfast was delicious and all waitress served. The shower was wonderful - really hot and high volume of water. The towels were huge and fluffy - so unlike most hotels. The view from the back of the hotel over towards the Abbey is beautiful. The little extras like the snacks station and the fresh milk available at all times for coffee were really appreciated. This was our second visit and there will most definitely be a third. The rooms are a little small so the storage is sparing. There is pretty much nothing else that wasn't perfect.

- Victoria (7/5): Frankly speaking didn’t like it. - Mediocre 1. Parking is not suitable for road trip stay cause parking is not guaranteed. You come and all slots are busy by other guests including those who had to check out and leave but somehow decided to explore the city and leave the cars on the hotel parking. Strange hotel policy.
2. In our room the bathroom was tiny. The shower was not fenced off by anything: you wash and everything splashes on the toilet and towels, the toilet is clamped tightly between the sink and the hot battery. going to the toilet is fraught with the risk of burns and joint injuries
3. Audibility is pretty annoying. You literally share the audio space with all the neighbors from the adjacent rooms.
- Paul (9/5): - Great location and character
- Guest (8/5): -
- Julie (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Really pleasurable - Staff friendly and very helpful, little freebies a really nice gesture, breakfast and service were excellent Car space not allocated, first come first served basis
- Anina (10/5): Beautiful hotel with scrumptious breakfast! - Lovely hotel in the heart of Bath. Nothing
- Joannne (10/5): Just ideal for us. - Everything. Perfect location. Lovely staff, lovely little extras, attention to detail, super comfy bed!
- Robert (8/5): - Bed very comfortable, staff and the breakfast waere excellent Very expensive and £20 for parking
- Neil (7/5): Good overall, comfortable and well staffed, friendly welcome. Just not quite value for money for wha - Staff very nice and friendly. Well located 10 mins walk into centre. Good facilities. Nice views from hotel. Great shower in room Expensive for 1 night stay, quality of room not quite value for money. Unfortunately we had interrupted night from shy crying in next room but not hotel fault clearly. Goof will gesture given by not charging for parking. Generally room could be a bit updated and just need to review prices to ensure fair
- James (9/5): The staff and their service was excellent - Location superb. Rooms need to be updated for the value.
- Angie (10/5): Wonderful hotel with fantastic staff. - The hotel was beautiful. The staff were exceptional not just one but every member of staff. Food was delicious excellent chef. Had a wonderful stay. Would not hesitate to return. Nothing
- vicky (10/5): Fabulous hotel, lovely food and perfect location. - Great location, beautiful hotel and lovely staff.
- Fiona (9/5): A perfect stay. - We have stayed here several times before and find that the cosy King room is perfect for us. The breakfast is exceptionally good. The location is excellent, easy access to central Bath and the train station and there is parking.
We appreciated the anniversary card which was a lovely touch as well as the water and the rocky road travelling treat to eat on the way home. Very thoughtful. The larder was good as well. All of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We had an evening meal in the restaurant, the staff were extremely helpful and the service was very good but we found the main menu limited and there was no steak left at 18.30 which had been my choice so I ended up having two starters.
The desserts were extremely good as was the presentation of the food. It would be nice to have more chicken on the menu rather than just meat, fish and vegetarian.
- Jane (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Excellent long weekend in Bath. - Excellent location for exploring Bath - 10 mins walk to town centre.
Clean & comfortable rooms.
Very friendly & helpful staff
- David (5/5): Location is great and the hotel is alright. - The sweet treats were a welcome touch, the coffee machine in the entrance room and the bar downstairs was a nice stop off in the evening before going out.
The breakfast was fine, but having stayed at the Only You in Valencia just before this trip (admittedly we were slightly spoilt) but nonetheless, it was pretty uneventful. Too dusty. I appreciate that its an old place, next to a busy road and it is full of character, but it is also pretty dusty.
Parking should be included or at least highlighted in bold that it is either not available or the cost - its just an annoying add on when you arrive.
- Tiffany (10/5): - Everything! I couldn’t fault any part of the hotel Nothing
- Sharon (9/5): -
- Knott (9/5): A friend said I would love it and she was right! - Staff, food, and hotel were great. Super pet friendly too. Nothing
- Lucy (10/5): Beautiful Bird Hotel - Welcoming staff who made sure our stay was great!
Loved the little touches like the welcome message and sweetie bar. Bags of character too!
Very comfy room with fluffy towels and everything you could need. Nothing! It was brilliant. Would definitely return.
- Nicholas (9/5): This was my second stay in the Bird. It’s a lovely, quirky hotel ina great location with friendly staff. And the breakf - Beautiful hotel in a great location.
- Les (10/5): - My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Bird Hotel. The staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and efficient.
Great location for quick and easy walking into Bath centre.
- O Reilly (8/5): Lovely boutique hotel close to town with very helpful staff - Decor was eclectic and interesting. Really comfy bed and great shower Stuffed birds are not to everyone’s taste.
The first room we were shown on upper floor was just ok, and no heating turned on
- Patricio (10/5): - Desayuno pieza cama Nada
- Jon (6/5): -
- Elena (10/5): A warm welcome in a lovely hotel, convenient to walk into town but with a feeling of peace too - The attention to detail and the personal touch from the staff made it feel like we were special guests. Things that could be added to make the stay better would be a couple of spare pillows in the wardrobe as an alternative to feather ones. It was no problem at all though for housekeeping to provide one.
- Joanne (10/5): Very nice and relaxing - It was gorgeous I wasn’t told there was a £20 payment for parking and feel if you stay it should be free
- Emily (9/5): Lovely vibe and a nice cocktail in the bar! - Great location, lovely interior and very thoughtful touches: free soft drinks and sweets (water and flapjack for the journey home!) Delicious breakfast. Nothing…
- Gillian (10/5): Fabulous - a unique and friendly hotel. - Exceptional creative yet homely welcoming atmosphere. A real pleasure to stay, in a quiet central location. Big shout out for the Rocky Road - delicious!
- Karen (9/5): -
- JF (9/5): Great stay - I loved my short stay in the Bird, my Dinky Room was just perfect for one, the decor was quirky and breakfast was delicious. Staff were really helpful and welcoming. Would definitely return.
- Clare (9/5): Excellent service from start to finish and very comfortable hotel. - Great service, good location, enormous bed!
- Stephanie (10/5): Cute, friendly, cosy - I loved the quirky decor and little extras. The bed was so comfortable!! The “dinky double” was perfect for me on my own but would recommend for 2 people, or tall people!
- Deb (8/5): - Fabulous location, quirky decor and nice little extras, welcoming and Dog friendly. Bathroom was a little tired but clean and perfectly acceptable
- Hamish (7/5): -
- Federica (8/5): -
- Sam (10/5): -
- Louise (10/5): A lovely hotel, full of character within an easy walk of the town centre. - Staff were all extremely welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and the bed was very comfy! We loved all of the extra little touches like the "rocky road for the road" and the free drinks and sweets in the fridge. Would definitely recommend. Being told about the car parking charge after we'd booked.
- Jacquie (10/5): A comfortable stay - A gorgeous building that was beautifully decorated and pleasant staff. The added touches of free sweets, crisps and drinks was a welcome surprise. The showers leaked a bit.
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Joanne (9/5): Beautiful stay in a wonderful hotel - Location is perfect. A ten minute easy walk and you are in the centre. Breakfast was lovely. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Hotel is lovely and clean and warm The wait for breakfast was long - over an hour!
- Washington (8/5): -
- Ali (10/5): A wonderful relaxing stay in a beautiful, welcoming hotel. - Beautiful building with quirky and comfortable decor and furnishings. Great central location and convenient parking. The staff were lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Nothing, we loved it.
- Sandy (10/5): Lovely, relaxing, a great break. - Incredible decor and ambience. Fabulous location. Great bar and cocktails.
- D2819INjoh (10/5): Fun Luxury - Luxurious hotel with interesting art and collections. All the staff were fantastic - friendly, efficient and made you feel special. Great food and lots of little treats. Would definitely recommend.
- Tammy (9/5): Lovely short stay, excellent location. - Friendly staff. Excellent location. Lovely little touches - personal card, sweet station etc.
- scazin785544 (10/5): Boutique hotel in Bath - Lovely boutique hotel, quirky decor, very helpful staff, pretty room with everything you need for your stay. Has a Dyson hairdryer which was fabulous. Breakfast delicious and substantial.
- Rhea (10/5): Exceeded expectations! - The service was excellent, our pooch was welcomed and we enjoyed all the thoughtful little extras.

- J7260WKcameronp (10/5): Perfect Stay - Just back from a one night stay here.
We couldn't have asked for more.
With quirky, cosy decor, comfortable well equipped rooms and the friendliest most attentive staff you could wish for.
Breakfast was lovely and the pantry and treats for journey home such a lovely touch.
We will definitely be returning ❤️

- JuliaG789 (10/5): A gem in Bath - I have stopped in many hotels over the years and this is by far the best I’ve stayed at.
It’s quirky and full of charm the minute you enter the reception area. The rooms were beautiful and the little touches, like the the sweet and drinks area area, made it stand out even more. The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable of the local area. I will definitely be returning!
- 665ger (4/5): Parking charge - Sadly, not a great start, first hotel I have stayed at with a rip off parking charge - I certainly won't be staying again..
- boscawen2017 (10/5): Great stay at the Bird Bath - The Hotel was clean and bright, and every member of staff we came across was friendly and positive, and helpful.
We had a very pleasant couple of nights stay, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Bath.
- GaryAllenesque (10/5): Overnight stay in Bath - We had to stay in Bath overnight so our daughter could attend an interview nearby and we traveled down from Sheffield so needed something quite central to Bath but with parking facilities. We were so impressed on arrival with the warm friendly welcome and the beautiful decor and furnishings. Our rooms were very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. Just a short 10 min walk in to Bath which was great and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. We appreciated all the nice touches at the hotel which just showed us that the team really care about their customers experience.
- PDAJ (4/5): Recent Stay, Slightly Underwhelming - We stayed for the night in Feb 2026 and were somewhat underwhelmed by the Bird.
The room was ok, but lacked the finishing touches that would make it justify the price tag and reputation.
Our stay was also disrupted by a 3am fire alarm for which we received no apology on check out.
- KateBacon (10/5): Quirky and beautiful place to stay in Bath - Lovely comfy stay in a small but perfectly formed “Dinky Room”. Great nights sleep and the perfect morning shower with delicious Bramley products and fluffy towels. Breakfast was a treat with the best porridge EVER. Service was friendly and welcoming - what a great team. Will definitely be back when I need another trip to the Thermae Spa. Thank you!
- PebbleL (8/5): Review of deluxe king room with Jacuzzi bath - The staff who work here are excellent and we received a warm welcome to the hotel.
We stayed in the deluxe king room, which was beautifully furnished and had a lovely Jacuzzi bath and rainfall shower. There were also some nice touches to our stay, like access to a free larder and water and rocky road provided for our journey home.
The only thing that was a slight negative for us was the position of the room next to the restaurant. It was quite odd to have people hanging up their coats next to our room door and the restaurant was quite noisy at night.
- richieoriain (10/5): Gorgeous hotel and great location - Just spot on overall. Lovely staff, incredible rooms, great service, walking distance to everything. We got a package that included time at the Thermae Spa and we walked there in a few minutes. The roll top bath was well worth it. Just everything. Had the sleep of the century in that bed! Just the nicest staff as well, especially in the restaurant. Can't reccommend enough. We'll be back!
- SuzanneWales (10/5): Lovely hotel in the centre of bath - Lovely hotel in a great location, only a few minutes walk from the centre of Bath. Perfect for a couples stay. The food was delicious in the restaurant too. Would recommend
- Mobile53266866246 (10/5): Brilliant place - This was the best stay in a hotel we have ever had. Everything was perfect. The staff are brilliant and go above and beyond to help you. There isn't anything bad about the place and it's staff.
- nicolaaQ8817IW (10/5): Joyful - What a beautiful joyful place. Delicious food and pillowy beds. I’m definitely staying longer next time!
- Calvin (4/5): Overpriced by far for such a poor bedroom. £643 for 2 nights. - Breakfast was lovely Tiny boring dated bedroom and mold on the silicone in the bathroom.
- Emily (10/5): Perfect - Great location really close to the roman baths. When we got there we realised the pillows and duvet were feathers which we are both allergic to, we called down to reception and the woman on duty brought us some new pillows and a duvet and took the feather ones away. They also have a complimentary sweet stand with a drink fridge at the bottom of the stairs. The water pressure in the shower was amazing. NA
- StJohn (8/5): Overall very good and great location. - Location and staff. Being charged for parking at checkout, having not been told at check in.
Room was quite small, but very comfortable.
- Adam (9/5): -
- kbrady442217 (10/5): An unforgettable stay at The Bird - I would highly recommend a stay at The Bird. They go the extra mile to help make your stay extra special with all the little extra things they do.
- Rob (7/5): Very enjoyable but the overall experience was diminished by the busy road. - Lovely food and within easy walking distance of the city centre. The car park is a great asset. On a busy road which made sleeping difficult. Not a good option for those people with limited mobility as there isn’t a lift.
- Rohit (5/5): -
- KENNETH (9/5): Beautiful location and wonderful staff. Just a lovely time as they might say in England. - The Bird Bath is very beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The check in staff was fantastic. The rooms were very beautiful and peaceful. We slept extremely well and the shower, wow. Just amazing. The parking is a bit of a challenge and a bit pricey. Maybe the two go hand in hand.
