Guest Reviews
- Wouter (10/5): Great place in the heart of Edinburgh - Paul is great as a host and the place is simply lovely.
- Kay (9/5): Wonderful place to stay - Everything - the house was perfect for a large group of friends and great recommendations from the host on where to eat and things to do.
- Robert (10/5): A fantastic place to stay with a large (up to 12) group of friends or family - a great find. - A fantastic house for a large (12) group of friends. The large dining table in the sun room was fantastic. The quality of the decor and fittings throughout the house was superb and the garden was lovely with a log burner and pizza oven. There were plenty of glasses, crockery and cutlery and the two dishwashers was a real bonus. The owners Paul and John were extremely helpful and very friendly. We could not have asked for more from the house. The welcome pack of food and drink was very much appreciated. The kitchen was quite small, although it was very well equipped and located right next to the large dining area. Having an extra large fridge/freezer nearby was great
- Roger (10/5): - Das ganze Haus ist sehr grosszügig Nichts , alles in Ordnung, eine Unterkunft für mehrere Personen
- Karen (10/5): Great stay, super hosts Paul & John are Five Star! - We were met by the owners Paul & John who left us delightful welcome basket! 94DR is a relaxing family home where we spent time in Edinburgh. Great location with access to public transportation just outside their door. And yet the property is just far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city noise. They have a lovely garden in the back. We even enjoyed a few home cooked family meals after long days of sightseeing. Nothing

- Hilary (10/5): A peaceful oasis tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city - truly a luxurious stay! - Paul was a fantastic host, super friendly and very accommodating. We were able to check in early, and he gave us an excellent tour of the property and even stocked the kitchen with some thoughtful "welcome" treats (the Tunnock's tea cakes were a huge hit!).
The house itself was lovely, and done up to a very high standard. It was also clear that Paul and John had put a great deal of thought and care into decorating; the place felt immaculately styled but also totally approachable and livable. Our absolute favorite thing about the property was the orangerie/conservatory. We had booked 94 DR as a place for our friends to stay over the weekend of our wedding, and it was so lovely and relaxing for everyone to be able to gather together in the orangerie and enjoy the sunlight and the beautiful rear garden!
Overall, it was a pleasure to stay here and Paul and John were wonderful hosts and both just lovely people (we got to meet John at checkout). I would absolutely recommend 94 DR to anyone with a large group of family or friends looking for a chic and peaceful stay in the city. The location is a bit removed from the city center if you prefer to walk, but only about 10-15 minutes by taxi. It's also a very lovely neighborhood with lots of attractive period buildings, so there's lots to see if you do decide to go by foot!
Being a bit farther out also allows for a more peaceful and secluded feeling, and the house itself is honestly so well-appointed that we were tempted to just stay in the whole time, so I wouldn't really even call this a "negative" - just something to be aware of if you prefer to be right in the heart of the action :) For us it was just right.
- Henry (10/5): Perfect! - Tastefully and purposefully designed house with everything you could ever need for a stay in Edinburgh. The extra attention that Paul gave to accommodate for the trip was amazing
- Allen (10/5): Brilliant for large groups in an excellent location - The property was absolutely stunning, we were a group of 12 blokes on a stag do, all ranging between 30 and 40 I can’t recommend this property highly enough!
All the bedrooms were perfect, massive dining area for socials and a well stocked kitchen There wasn’t anything we didn’t like
- Natalie (10/5): Fabulous 3 night stay at 94DR - Literally everything! First off our host Paul welcomed us with the warmest greeting, showed us round, gave us some tips and advice, and left us with a plethora of top quality food items that we could help ourselves to during our stay. The house is beautiful and huge, and decorated in excellent taste. It was very clean, bright and spacious with great spaces for large groups to socialise. The beds and bedding were all extremely comfortable and we all slept very well. Fridges and coffee making facilities all top quality. Ensuites for everyone. It was warm and cozy despite being such a large home and the underfloor heating was the cherry on top for a comfortable stay. We found it to be very well located especially for going to Arthur's seat, and very easy to get to central town as well. The only problem was that we didn't stay long enough to get through the long list of recommendations in the thoughtful and thorough welcome pack! Wish we could have stayed longer, thanks very much Paul! There was nothing we didn't like.
- Alice (10/5): Paul is the warmest, most enthusiastic and welcoming host I’ve ever met. We were 8 adults getting together for a family - Beautiful property with lots of original features, all bedrooms en suite, well equipped kitchen, beautiful lounge. This feels like a real home. It’s a fabulous place to spend time with family or friends. Nothing. I can’t fault it.
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional - Paul was amazing - friendly, positive and welcoming! The house was very spaceious and a nice place to relax after a day in town. We were a group of 12 and the house was perfect for us.
Will definetly recommend staying here.
Thanks for having us. We loved everything.
- Samantha (10/5): Amazing - We came to Edinburgh for a family weekend and the property was perfect for allowing us all to sit together and talk, eat and drink but also gave people spaces to go if they wanted some quieter time. Nothing - it was perfect
- Pierre (10/5): The best place you can select In Edinburgh! - E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!!!!!
the house is superb, well organized and pristine. the location is great.
But more importantly, Paul, our Host is one of a kind. He is such a charming person, a gentleman, worrying about our comfort, preparing the house with great taste.
He also cooked the greatest Breakfast I ever had in Great Britain.
Paul, on behalf of my friends, T-H-A-N-K Y-O-U!!!!! NOTHING, the entire stay was superb,
- John-paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): scrumptious accommodation - comfort and facilities for a large group, although if wanted you could be on your own as many rooms and a lovely space outside. nothing
