Guest Reviews
- Leyendecker (10/5): -
- Traxler (9/5): - Close to were I had to go Not sure if they had food you eat in the morning
- Dana (5/5): Overall for the price it served our purpose, we would use again. - Everything was fine... location was good for our event in the area. Check in was super simple and quick. Room was spacious. Bed was comfortable shower was good. We were able to control room temperature. Hallways and entry had odor of strong cooking spices. Towels were small, poor quality but did do the job. Coffee offered in room but coffee machine was old and dirty in appearance.
- Gary (5/5): I won't be back. - Room size was great. The furnishing were worn out. The bed linens were clean but old. Bathroom linens were clean but old.
- James (6/5): -
- Brenda (3/5): -
- Scott (10/5): - It was a nice hotel, the greeting at the desk at check in was a pleasant experience. Room was nice/clean and felt like home. It was close drive to Door County and had some great restaurants in the area. Would recommend
- Jessica (9/5): -
- Porter (4/5): -
- Jill (5/5): Overall, fine. Except the bed was extremely uncomfortable. - Most everything was fine. It suited my purpose for being in Kewaunee. I had last stayed there about 6 years ago. I could see some updating was done. The bed/mattress was the most UNcomfortable one I had tried to sleep on for a long time. Needs updating desperately.
- Alan (5/5): - Location and wood floors Unclean bathroom gross black spots on shower certain visible fecal mater in toilet and stained pillow sheets
- Paul (10/5): Would stay again for definite - Loved the location and the staff were really friendly
My car wouldn’t start and the owner tried to help me get it started
- Tim (10/5): -
- Steve (10/5): - Location, price, clean. Coffee could be better.
- Gabriele (7/5): - Sehr gute Lage, um Kewaunee zu erkunden. Wunderbar Es gibt nichts zu meckern. Die Holzbalkone müssten gestrichen werden, das Meer arbeitet.
- William (10/5): - Very cozy
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Shops, restaurants near by. Hotel clean safe and quiet.
- Tim (10/5): - Just needed a place for the night
- Kaye (8/5): - Nice enough little place in a great location. Some attention to detail as in cleaning would be nice (very visible dirt in corner of bathroom floor) but overall a good place.
- Matthew (10/5): - Clean and well maintained. Nice view of the Harbor.
- Carl (8/5): - Room was clean and staff was courteous. Good shower pressure. Bed a bit firm but not too bad
- Rhonda (8/5): - The rooms had refrigerators and microwave. Room was very big and beds we’re comfortable
- Tom (10/5): - This is a very nice hotel, in a wonderful location. Across the street from Lake Michigan, with a great breakfast restaurant - Anchor Down Family Restaurant- just a block away. The room I had was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again!
- Larry (8/5): - New paint and carpet help a lot. Older building but you can see the attempts to update. Great location for day trip to door cty. And kewaunee has quaint downtown!
- mark (3/5): The bathroom was filthy - Toilet was dirty. And so was the shower
- Cheryl (8/5): - Service was excellent!
- Gwenn (8/5): - Lovely location, nice stay. Simple setup, nice balconies overlooking harbor. Would stay again, cute town
- Ihor (8/5): - It was not clean.
- Marie (10/5): - Was easy access to Door Peninsula. Lovely view from 2nd floor over harbour. Nice bed, fridge and microwave. Loved the place Nothing
- Marilyn (6/5): - This property is old but clean and comfortable. Perfect for the price.
- CHRIS (10/5): - Asked for first floor and did hold for me.
- Jones (9/5): I would recommend others to stay here. It was very clean. - Breakfast was just coffee and packaged muffins. It would have been nice to have a little more choice, but they have a gas station across the street that has great breakfast sandwiches. There was not much I did not like, except maybe better lighting in the bathroom for putting on makeup.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly Kewaunee - Always a nice stay at Harbor Lights
- Thomas (10/5): - Nice clean, fairly quiet place to stay for a night. Only complaints LOW toilet. couch has seen it’s better days for sure. Felt like I was sitting on the floor, very hard to get out of. Easy in, easy out. Lots of stuff within walking distance.
- ellen (8/5): - no elevator. nice room but toilet made a screeching Sound every time
will go back again
- Liliana (3/5): - Location Cleanliness, smell, staff, spiderwebs.
- Curtis (8/5): - Kewaunee is a nice little town. We enjoyed having an antique store, book store and Fish store in just a few blocks from our room.
- Charles (6/5): - When try to check in there wasn’t anyone in the office. The number to call on the house phone didn’t work. Cell call to the hotel no answer. A note on the counter indicates another person had been there and nobody there to check him in. Message was for clerk to call.
We left and came back two hours later and the clerk was there.
- Paula (10/5): Cost friendly that's a nice place to stay! - Do not let an unmanned desk deter you from staying here. We made a simple call from the supplied house phone and a gentleman was to the front desk within just a couple of minutes. Check in went smooth at this family owned lodge/hotel, the room was nice and clean, beds were comfortable, cable TV worked well, had a small table with 2 chairs, plus it has a dorm fridge and microwave that also worked well. Housekeeping was pretty good and came and remade our beds and restocked our towels while we were out. The only thing that's slightly negative I have to say is housekeeping forgot to leave an extra roll of toilet paper but aside from that everything else was great! We had a 2nd floor room and if you enjoy seeing a lighthouse every day I highly suggest reserving a Harbor View room. 2nd floor rooms do have a pretty small balconies with 2 chairs which give great views of the Kewaunee lighthouse; though to see it you do have to stand as the railing is pretty high for everyone's safety.
A mini Continental breakfast with Coffee is supplied in the morning, instant oatmeal, prepackaged cinnamon rolls and also muffins. I did not see any juices or milk as an alternative drink choice. On the upside there is a convenience store located right across the street!
The hotel DOES NOT have an elevator so if that's an issue for you then this lodge is not for you. To get to the 2nd level you will climb 20ish steps ( I didn't count them just guessing)
All in all we will stay here again!
- Miia (10/5): - This is an older hotel, so don’t expect the fancy luxuries. It is clean, well maintained and the staff were very friendly. Also it was walkable to many dining options, on the water and a convenient store was located across the street in case you needed anything.
- Lance (6/5): - Good was area, near marina, use newer vending machines or at least ones that work
- LeRoy (6/5): - Breakfast was coffee and donuts
- Lisa (8/5): - I lived that I could grab a coffee and walk the harbor. Beautiful views and access to a sandy bwach. Will definitely stay again
- Diana (8/5): - Older place, but our stay was good. Wish we could get bigger bath towels and an actual bar of soap for the shower. Our room was comfy and clean.
- Jennifer (10/5): Clean, comfortable, nice location - Older but very clean! Patio was nice with 2 basic chairs nice view. Coffee in lobby not so great but there is small coffee pot in room. Nothing fancy but we appreciated the location, cleanliness and comfort it provided. Would stay again and recommend to family.
- Rosa (6/5): - Okay for the price we paid. The toilet made a loud shriek every time we flushed. The bed was not comfortable. There was only one shampoo for the 3 of us. Fortunately we brought our own. We had a good view of the Kewaunee harbor though!
- Darrel (6/5): - Phone in room did not work.
- Verified traveler (8/5): fishing trip - last minute booking nice hotel 2 star room clean few things broken
- allan (2/5): - The key card took a magician to make it work, the tv remote was awkward and didn't work unless you pointed it in exactly one spot. the coffee pot in the room was full of old moldy coffee and had the old coffee grounds in the basket. The air conditioner was extremely noisy, either froze or took a long time to kick on.
- Paul (8/5): - It is right across the street from the lake and walkable to have drinks outside.
- Terry (8/5): - Property was clean, friendly staff. Great location
- Bill (10/5): - Clean and great location
- Scarlet (8/5): - The bed was so comfortable.
- Mary (8/5): - Extremely comfortable beds/pillows! A/C worked well in heat. Good shower!
- Joshua (10/5): - Better than we expected. Good breakfast. Just what we needed as we traveled to a family event in Door County.
- Kaitlyn (8/5): - The hotel looks rundown compared to the holiday inns and such I am used to, but the room was quite nice! We liked the large size and the bed was comfortable. It was right off of Lake Michigan which made it easy for us to enjoy a great walk!!
- Linda (10/5): - Cute motel right next to the harbor, spacious room with a little outdoor balcony, clean and very comfy
- Penni (5/5): Ok for the money but needs updating! - Great location… room over looking Lake Michigan! Needs major updating…. Pain, carpet, and mattresses!!
- Aimee (8/5): Just the night - Cute little town. Solid motel.
- Dennis (10/5): Beautiful view of harbor 😉 - Everything went well and we were greeted with a smile 😊
The only item that could/would be nicer is to have a larger bathroom area and a shelf by the sink that is outside of the tub:stool area.
- Ken (8/5): - Good location fot our needs.
- Betty (10/5): Exceptional -
- Randy (8/5): - Room was very nice like in past, comfy bed. Spacious
- ALISA (8/5): - Not much to offer for off season. No sign for front of building. It was clean and everything was working well. Very small offer for breakfast wished to know t h at in advance
- Dave (8/5): Very good - It was good!
- Alex (10/5): - It was by the lake
- Jim (4/5): - The room key did not work to get into the building. Sign was falling apart and overall, ugly.
- David (9/5): Overall a nice place to stay at a decent price. - I was up and gone to early for breakfast but I did get some coffee. The bed was comfortable. And the location was just perfect. The corners of the floor in the bathroom wete dirty. The chargers for the USB cords did not work and also one of the plugins on the clock was broke.
- Todd (8/5): Very good - Easy walk to downtown & the harbor. Very spacious & clean room. I wasn't too impressed with the continental breakfast. Also, there is no in-suite coffee making option.
- Jeff (10/5): - No problems, worked well for what we needed.
- David (8/5): OK for a 1 night stay. - Key card very difficult to use. Premises needs upkeep. Very roomy. Sated 1 night while hiking the IAT.
- LEE (10/5): - Spacious, clean rooms and friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel room itself was ok, looked like they had done some upgrading. Bathroom was NOT clean.
- Jim (2/5): I’ll never stay here again and will tell others to avoid it. - Very dirty! Hair from previous renter in tub.
Thick dirt and lint in bathroom fan, dropping down on you. Dirty hand prints on walls. Fast food wrappers from previous renters on floor.
- Pamela (8/5): - Nice room. Very quiet.
- jackie (8/5): - Our room was very basic-clean and safe/secure feeling. It was fine for us and quiet when the window air conditioning unit was on. Our little balcony was very nice and the view of the harbor was great. Only problem was the noise when the door was opened. We received a discount with our Expedia points so the price was more in line with the property/stay value for our two nights in the area.
- Julie (8/5): - Older amenities, but everything was very clean, so I was good with it. Continental breakfast included undrinkable coffee and two choices of packaged pastries that were well past their expiration dates.
It's fine for a short in and out stay.
- Peggy (6/5): - If you are looking for a place to stay for a night it is good. But for an extended stay, would recommend to search out other lodging.
- Linda (6/5): Noisy, fair at best - N/A Linens were too old and thin. Furniture was very worn and I was not comfortable enough to even sit on the sofa. No grab bar in shower. Bad lighting.
- Angela (4/5): - The halls smelled musty. Upon entering the room there were stains on the bedspread and my boyfriend walked right through a spider web. The towels were definitely old, stained and very thin. The chair had holes and a clear bloodstain.
Would never stay here again!
- Ed (10/5): - Convenient location and quiet. Kept late and early hours because we were fishing the big lake. Easy to get a nap in during the day.
- Karen (5/5): Stayed out of necessity - Only property available No elevator
- Joseph G (4/5): - They were missing light bulbs and tv did not have working captioning.
- Richard (10/5): - Another great stay. A nice walkable distance from all downtown dining options as well as walking and biking trails along the Lake Michigan Harbor.
Hotel rooms have been updated with new flooring and amenities. Making it nice experience with friendly staff from check in to check out.
- Brad (10/5): - Nice place in a nice area.
- Patrick (6/5): The location is good. This isn’t a fancy place at all, but it’s clean. - The location is good, and the price was reasonable. I wish the light on the balcony could be turned off.
- Wendy (10/5): - Easy and fast check-in.
Very Friendly staff.
- Don (8/5): Very good -
- Thomas (9/5): Superb -
- matthew (10/5): - Clean and what i needed
- Sammie (5/5): Needs work - the location was good. For a handicap room it was lacking. There was no place to put a toothbrush, much less any other necessities for washing a person who needs help. Our room also had a tub without a handheld showerhead or shower chair. My husband has Alzheimer's and we were able to cope with things as they were but for someone who may need more care this was not the room.
- Carol (4/5): Disappointing -
- Kristine (10/5): - It was a clean room. Quiet town
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It’s a nice old place nothing fancy could use some cereal not just rolls. I’m a diabetic.
- Christine (1/5): Not a good place to stay - Nothing Nothing clean old
- Tanya (10/5): Great affordable place - It was cheap and they were friendly. Right off Lake Michigan. Plenty of parking. Small balcony was nice. For me the bed was to hard or uncomfortable. For my boyfriend he slept way to well
- Larry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Franklin (3/5): Way over priced for the service and location. - Had three adults only had towels for two and bar soap, coffee creamer and sugar for one person.
- Cr192 (8/5): clean comfortable motel - clean comfortable motel room across from the Kewanee harbor. No breakfast; only coffee. Room was clean and there was a small balcony but it could use some cleaning.
- Katherine (6/5): Pleasant - Pretty clean comfortable beds quiet Floor had stuff on it under table green walls weird orange juice spoiled tasting we were just about only guest thought we would get better view out our window/doorway
