• Melody (10/5): - This place is beautiful. The view from the back door is stunning. I had no trouble gaining access. I sent the owner a message the day before arrival and she sent the code within minutes. The property is gated with a security guard 24 hours a day. There is plenty of parking. The only complaint I have is that I wish the gym area was air conditioned. It was too hot in there even before sunrise.

• Sarika (2/5): - We booked thru Expedia but the host who lives in the UK ( Melanie Butcher) called us to say ‘ I will not let you step inside the door as long as I don’t get paid!!’ We told us Expedia has already charged us - sent her a screenshot of the CC statement but she was having trouble swiping the card even after we gave her a mother card. I don’t know what was the mismatch with Expedia & her but we were stranded out in the heat for 3-4 hrs w/o a hotel/ apartment. Finally Expedia rebooked us at another hotel which we grabbed - but it was not so nice as the apt- condo we had booked. We are seasoned travelers so we took it in stride- but was a very bad experience overall. We wasted half a day of our precious vacay time & took some stress too. Not what you want on a vacation.

• Jeremy (8/5): - While the property itself is beautiful, we did not have the best experience at Whispering Seas renting with Melanie. We arrived to the condo and the security guard insisted we provide the exact condo number. We provided all of the information Orbitz provided us and there was a lot of confusion. Finally, he made a phone call and the owner of the condo didn't even know we were checking in. She had the wrong date and had not sent any check in instructions whatsoever. The condo was clean, well decorated, and very comfortable. However, there were no instructions and the hot water heater and oven were not turned on. For more than a day, we didn't have hot water and Melanie did not reply to our concern. On the second day, the main entry keypad locked us out and delayed our family from enjoying our vacation again. Lastly, we had problems with the washing machine during our stay and one of the pools was green and covered with slimy algae. There were no signs to indicate it was closed or unsafe. This property has tons of potential, but the owner clearly is not ready to host guests and has very poor communication. I would not recommend staying in this particular unit at Whispering Seas.

There is no convenience store on the property (you have to cross a highway on foot with cars coming at you on either side to get a bottle of water), there is no spa, and the apartment did not even have salt and pepper. It was very difficult to locate; the aircon in one of the bedrooms did not work and had to be repaired, and there was no battery to change the speed of the ceiling fan using a remote. There is a nice Italian restaurant across the street, and a salt water pool. The place is quiet and peaceful and the staff were lovely.

• Rhonda (10/5): - The apartment was very spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. In fact the online pictures did not do the property service. The grounds were immaculate with a hardworking groundsman. We even got coconut from the onsite trees! My only real issues were the absence of hot water and air conditioning in the main living spaces. AC in the rooms were lovely and encouraged sleep. Definitely a place to return to..we are planning the next trip!!
• dale (10/5): - We loved the condo space we rented. It was huge for four people. A good kitchen to use. Excellent WIFI. Fantastic view. Very fun (though shallow) pools. Not crowded at all. We hardly saw people. Being right off the highway, and only about 10-12 minutes from Ochi, it was very convenient. If we could afford it, we'd love to go again, and wish we could take my wife's family.

I absolutely love how I could sit on the patio and not be bothered by mosquitoes. Excellent view and pool. My only recommendation is to upgrade the gym with proper working equipment. That area has such a potential to be a nice state of the art gym.

Only negative was the lack of AC in the main room. (2 bedrooms have split units.) Although there is a nice cross breeze from the Ocean on a very hot day it's not enough.

Also be prepared for only the bedroom having ac and not the rest of the apartment, only ceiling fans to cool down the living room.

• Lisa (10/5): - My husband and I had to go down to Jamaica for his mother’s funeral. It was a very difficult time for both of us. Our stay at Whispering Seas gave us the feel of a home away from home. It was exactly what we needed. The view was gorgeous, and the sound of the waves was so relaxing! Our apartment was beautiful! It was clean, nicely decorated, and had most of what we needed. We would, definitely, stay there, again! Our only complaint is that the workout room was bad. My husband and I were looking forward to keeping up with our workouts while we were down there, but we were unable to do that. There’s hardly any equipment in the workout room; and, what is in there, is broken, old, and rusty. They should invest in some nice equipment, and keep the door closed so the sea air doesn’t rust everything. Put an air conditioner in to keep the room cool. Thank you to Sam and the security staff for being there when we had questions. Thank you to Melanie, the owner, for having such a beautiful place for us to enjoy!

The unit that we stayed in was nice and clean but we could not use both showers at the same time as the water pressure was extremely low. The common area was very hot. The bedrooms were the only rooms with central cooling. There were alot of renovations in progress and construction noise well after 5 pm. Not many dining options and the location required transportation to tourist areas and main town areas. The Staff was very nice and helpful.

• Justin (2/5): - This property was rented without hot water for 6/7 days of my stay. I agreed on 4th day to 3 day refund offered because water was supposed to be fixed. Then it went again. Now I’ve had to pay to litigate.
• Robert (8/5): - The condo itself was very comfortable. The nearby beach was not very inviting and dinning options close by were limited. A good supermarket was a drive several kilometers away. I totally enjoyed the nearby attractions.
• Purvi (8/5): - I booked a property with a king sized bed and bathroom with a bathtub. When we reached Whispering Seas, we were told the apartment we had booked had been double-booked by the owner and we were sent to the next-door apartment complex, The Waves. The condo unit there was nice and had similar amenities -- except it did not have a king size bed (full size only) or bathtub -- or 24-hour front gate staff (which created problems as we left). When I shared the discrepancies with the host upon arriving, they said we could find another place and get a full refund -- which is unreasonable at the last minute. They claimed to have sent a message -- which I never received about the double booking. When we left, I asked for a modest $50 refund & I never heard back. The place has an amazing view (though no real ocean access as it's all rocky) and the condo is very new and all items are upgraded. However, the host did not seem transparent and straightforward or interested in responding thoughtfully to concerns.
• Tyler (10/5): - Very clean, quiet and felt safe. Enjoyed eating at the Jerk restaurant and Summerhouse right across the street. We were worried about getting to Beaches and back after midnight for a wedding but Kevin, a security guard got us to and from safely. The only drawback was that we didn't get to snorkel because the wind and waves were too intense. Besides that it was an excellent alternative to the all-inclusives.

• Niraj (10/5): Great condo near Ochi - Beautiful, well appointed condo, with a gorgeous ocean view. It was well equipped with towels, utensils, cookware, etc. and it made for a comfortable stay with an opportunity to cook our own meals when we didn't want to go out. Very nice pools right on edge of ocean, but snorkeling is tough onsite due to choppy seas. Owner was easy to communicate with and very responsive. Ochi beach at Fisherman's village is about a 10 minute drive, and well worth the $3 charge for a great experience.

The cleanliness, quietness, calmness of the sound of the ocean and pictures view made me feel like I was sleeping in a beautiful painting… I had my alarm set so didn’t miss when the day officially started… Despite being right next to the main road the property was quiet. Melonie was swift In response and the security guards were attentive and tend to all calls swiftly. I felt right at home because of the similarities in the decor. the washer, dryer and gym was a big plus. Again, to the sunrise from the master bedroom! Was so Beau-to-full, I certainly will be back if available. ~Shana~

• Jason (8/5): - The villa itself was lovely. The view and the grounds are lovely. There are a number of issues that the owners need to address: 1. The only Fan in living room doesn’t work. 2. The microwave, washer and dryer don’t work. 3. They don’t provide enough towels. Only 1 per person just to shower. Need to consider giving guests pool towels. As no traveler from abroad walks with a pool/beach towel. 4 when we first arrived the security guard told us he didn’t see our reservation and the owners live in Europe so he couldn’t contact them. Luckily he had a number for a driver and that guy had a door access code. Just a lot of issues to address by the owners. None the less the place is lovely, very relaxing.

Incredible view of the ocean with two infinity pools that push right up to the edge. No ocean access there but beach is right down the road. Very spacious apartment and the porch view is just awesome. Grocery store and restaurant/bar just a short walk away. Ochi is a five minute car ride.

• Sherry (8/5): - Loved this quiet Oasis. It was beautiful. Loved the beach views and 2 pools on the premises. Owner was very nice and easily able to access throigh phone and whatsapp. Just wished the house had more towels, wash clothes and cooking tools such as seasonings. Other than than that this vacation was well needed for a Covid 19 first responder that hasnt vacationed for 2 years. Will definitely stay again. King size bed in Master bedroom was divine! Thanks Mel for the beautiful hospitality.
• cadey (10/5): - We had a wedding at Goldeneye and stayed at whispering sea we got a fantastic apartment ocean views it was perfect even though work had us out for the entire day it was good to come back to a clean, cozy, and secured environment I will stay there again and request the same apartment.
• Kalyan (4/5): Nice location, but not well mantained - The property was in an excellent location and had great views. However, it was not well maintained. The kitchen did not have proper silverware for a family to stay. Only one glass, various odd sized spoons/forks (one each) that looked old and rusted. The bathroom had no place to hang clothes. The refrigerator was all rusty from the outside. Looks like the owner did not want to spend money to maintain the property. Otherwise, the rooms had some nice furniture and the views were amazing.

I thought it would be much more than what was offered considering the amount of money that I paid. I don't think I will be visiting this location again. The security officers were helpful and respectful.

• Stephen T. (8/5): Phenomenal - One of those times you wish your stay was longer. The unit was far better than the pictures. Had a Lil hiccup with checking in , but once in, the unit exceeded expectation. Clean , spacious, quiet surroundings, easy travel time to restaurants close by, secure, very secure. And talk about the view. Could wake with that view every day. Being lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean ........a slice of heaven.
• Ananth (2/5): - Please do not book this villa even if price and pictures seems attractive for Ocho Rios as the owner is unreliable and not trust worthy as she cancelled my booking for two nights that was booked 21 days ahead at the 11th hour as she got a better last minute long term reservation for the villa from another visitor. I booked this villa for 2 night stay 21 days before the arrival date. I showed up at the property traveling all the way from MoBay to learn that the villa is not available. There is no onsite staff or front desk and have to rely on the security to make whatsapp call to communicate with the owner lady who is overseas and has a strong accent. The owner claims that she sent me a email on Dec 23rd ie 3 days before my checkin date about canceling my reservation. I have no email from her or from orbitz as I wouldn't have showed up spending time in travel. She says she didnt charge my card but orbitz has charged my card. Now I have to call Orbitz to request refund. I had to deal with the rude attitude of the owner, bear with accent, rebook another hotel at the nth hour at a much higher rate as it was Christmas busy season and last minute. And now have to spend time with Oritz to get the refund back to my card as the owner has not even informed Orbitz or initiated refund though she claims she didnt charge my card. May be she doesnt understand Orbitz process which I can bear with. But what I can not be peace with is canceling 3 days before with a communication

• Tamika (6/5): - We stayed at Whispering Seas for 2 weeks due to a family funeral in St. Mary, Jamaica. While we'd typically stay in an all inclusive resort, we needed space for our family and the freedom to travel and handle funeral arrangements, etc. in the midst of COVID-19. Our check-in was rough as they were unable to find our reservation (even with a printed itinerary/receipt); upon finding it we had to wait nearly an hour and half because our room wasn't ready. Once we got to the room, it was a sauna (there is no AC in the main sitting area), there were dirty cleaning rags thrown in a closet and missing amenities (no washer/dryer, no wifi and no fresh towels). The next day, the manager apologetically moved us to a different unit and provided beer/water for the inconvenience. Overall, I'd say cleanliness is not the best (worn/nasty pillows w/ stains and stained towels), but the trade-off is the sea-side location and apartment aesthetics which are modern and very nice. Housekeeping is extra and must be planned 24-hours in advance. We found the on-site security guys to be helpful. This is a decent place to stay if you are traveling with family, have an extended stay, need space and special amenities (washer/dryer) and don't mind the do-it-yourself approach.

She made reservations with a great taxi driver (Kevin) at a very reasonable rate to take us around the area for a day and also to provide transportation to our next place on the island. I would highly recommend staying here.
• Tameika (8/5): Secret Little Gem Close to Ocho Rios - One of the few quiet spots close to Ocho Rios. Beautiful ocean view and spacious apartment. Close to Bamboo Beach but I wish there was an arrangement between the complex and beach since there isn’t a swimming beach on the premises. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend to others.

• Robert (10/5): Great location, peaceful, I could live here. - Excellent spot. Beautiful views. Super friendly hospitality. Theo, Noranda and Mel were fantastic and treated me very well. The condo is fabulous, totally up to date, two big bedrooms, living dining and kitchen. Ocean breeze and you can hear the surf from everywhere. Highly recommended. There is easy access to local food at the Tower restaurant and a market store beside it. Close to Reggae Beach and a short drive to Boscobel and Oracabessa or Ocho Rios. Taxis are available on the highways regularly.

Beware if you decide to walk down to the grocery store. It was a little sketchy, especially for two females. Go to the Italian restaurant just up the street. The food was amazing!! Overall, it was a great value for the price and had everything we needed!
