- Karina (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was clean and more spacious than I had expected. Modern/updated bathroom amenities (toilet, sink, shower) and television (with hulu/netflix/etc). Front desk is virtual so the only employees I saw were the cleaning staff on Sat/Sun morning. Rooms don't have central heating, so I wish I had known that portable room heaters would be on a first-come, first-served basis huddled around the (empty) front desk. By the time I got back each night, they were out of heaters so I had no idea that was even an option until the morning I checked out. The hotel is next to a church so there is a large parking lot across the street that hotel guests also used as overflow. The living, dining, and sitting rooms were straight out of a winter hallmark movie. Very darling and cozy environment. Tired Tired Sea coded, iykyk. The scenery is BEAUTIFUL. Really enjoyed staying here and would gladly stay here again. Just a small tip for the town itself: the McDonalds in town couldn't handle more than two orders at a time; took me 25 minutes to get my order in drive-thru when I was the third car in line. No other national chains available.

- Verified traveler (4/5): We decided not to stay. - After checking in, we decided not to stay and found another place. Staff leaves for the night at around 10:30 leaving no one around overnight. Anyone could come in at any time when you're sleeping. Rooms open with an old fashion key and there is no deadbolt.

- Deborah (8/5): A satisfying stay - it was an old hotel and the likes we have never stayed in because of its age. But it had a unique charm to it, The room was fine and the beds comfortable. The hotels in the Cooperstown area are priced very high this time of year and staying here saved us money and gave us what we needed, It was also nearby for any places we wanted to go to, We would stay here again.

We were booked for 2 nights at this "hotel" but wound up only staying one, and paying $400 to go stay at an actual hotel the second night, because of how uncomfortable we felt. The whole area around this property is seemingly condemned or abandoned houses. The walkway is unstable. There was a leak from the second floor into the living room walkway area. The pillows provided were paper thin, and there were stains on them. The towels looked old and had stains on them. The shower head barely worked and spewed water everywhere out of the connection point. Overall the building seems to have no maintenance completed in quite some time, if not decades. Cheap is one thing, unsafe is another thing all together.

Our room was like the Willy Wonka grandparents room or the bed healed healed a toe Would not stay there again.

I was actually given a room at their lakefront hotel as I was the only guest registered at the Baseball hotel for the evening. Not at all a problem for me. The hotel is older but has a charming, rustic quality to it. The staff at both the hotel and the restaurant were great. I will definitely be returning.

- Thomas (2/5): Horrible. Worse than you would ever think. - I have stayed in hundreds of hotels in my life including some very sketchy ones. This was the absolute worse one I’ve seen in my life. It was filthy and it was like going upstairs to the attic in an old house. We did not stay. I’m shocked that hotels.com lets this stay on their platform. If this was built to be a hotel, it was one built decades ago and never updated. I would like someone from hotels.com to contact me. I have pictures of the room I took before we left. The bathroom was like a utility closet. The windows look like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. (Even though this was the ground floor.). I know this was not refundable but this was a complete rip off.

- Roger (2/5): NOT A HALL OF FAME EXPERIENCE - This was not HOTEL EXPERIENCE. It was like a B&B (Vrbo) without the Breakfast. More like a summer camp or hostel experience. There was NEVER NEVER ANYONE AT THE FRONT DESK. TO CHECK IN, I had to call a number and someone told me the key was on a hook beside the door- NOT HOTEL LIKE. The room was like a dormitory or summer camp room. It was just 3 queen beds stuffed into a small hotel sized room, no place to sit except on the beds or small desk with a chair. The bathroom was small with a small shower without a shower head. In addition, the “hotel” pictures on Hotel.com show a Lake Front area, therefore I was misled into thinking it was on a LAKE. Which it isn’t on or near a lake. There was supposed to be a restaurant and there was a menu on the front desk. However, the restaurant was never open and no staff ever seen. Because of all these experiences, ITherefore, I would like to have all my money refunded. If this situation is not rectified to my satisfaction I will assume that Hotels.com endorses this type of business practices. Therefore, I will not use Hotels.com again.
- Toni (4/5): - Property extremely run down. Rooms are very tiny and bed sheets and pillows look like they’ve been used for decades. Not close to anything and nothing related to baseball at all. We ended up leaving and booking a different hotel.
- Aimee (4/5): Pretty disappointed. - Feeling pretty disappointed having spent over $250 a night for the hall of fame weekend. The tv didn’t work, the room was very tight and hard to comfortably set up in, and there was never anyone around to ask for information about town or anything. The hotel is clearly very old, which could have some charm to it but it also smelled very old and musty. We are not picky about places we have stayed (both have lived in tents in the military), but this stay just wasn’t very comfortable at all.
- Edward (6/5): Needs some work - Place still smelled musty. Based on locals site used to be a nursing home. Even though it is called Baseball Hotel I only saw 4 of someone’s junior trophies. Window air conditioner was too loud. Rattled whenever it kick on. It was also only 1 ft from the bed blew right on it.
- Lori (10/5): - This review is for mothers and families..... I'm a mom with a dog and we travel a lot! This hotel has SO much history! You can feel it when you walk in the door! I could picture Oleson's mercantile and ladies in dresses. Don't expect a resort or the Holiday Inn. The air conditioner was LOUD but we needed it! The hard wood floors are beautiful! Our queen room only had room for my husband and I and the big dog. There is NOT room for a portable crib! It's tight, but again, nice. There is NO breakfast, but there is coffee. Ask for extra towels early. You may need an extra pillow too. Bring toiletries. The towels are perfect. Yes the key is hanging on the wall, but don't freak out. Even though the front door of the hotel is unlocked, the town is SO quiet. We never really saw anyone. There is a huge refrigerator. No freezer. No ice machine. The dining room is huge. Buy take out and eat in the dining room. A baseball team could rent out the place and easily eat meals in the dining room. It took us 25 minutes to get to Cooperstown. There appears to be another part of the hotel behind it, but we were in the main building. We would definitely stay here again. They let the dog stay. That is a huge plus for us! Roku TV that certainly met our needs for a few nights. The price was right too!

- anastacia (10/5): - I know the local area well and this hotel is the most reasonably priced in this area. Very clean and the staff is exceptional. Our bags were carried to our room without asking for help. They accept pets which is hard to find. There is a large dining room that can be used for meetings or banquets. Highly recommend.

The woman doing the checking in grabbed our bags and carried them straight to our room nobody does that anymore! Great room for us, No Complaints whatsoever.

We had to call front desk since the tv was so new we had no idea how to operate it. They came in a minute and spent a good half hour teaching us how to operate it. We had a nice room with no complaints!!
- angie (10/5): - Only 20 minutes to the Baseball Hall of Fame with one red light. Mattress and box spring have been updated and provided an excellent nights sleep. We had a pet and could not beat the price and found this hotel on our way to Cooperstown. We did have to change the batteries on the remote but they had them available. This was a great find in a quiet area, very nice staff and close to stores, restaurants and points of interest. Thank you for all the memories!

The woman who checked us in carried all our luggage to our room without hesitation. The room was a little small but very cozy. Plenty of towels and blankets provided and the bathroom was very clean. We were very comfortable and they had everything we needed. 5 stars all the way.

The property was immaculately clean and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Very reasonable priced especially with a pet. Everything was very walkable to all that is in Richfield Springs. Hotel is centrally located and located close by multiple cut shops, good food and a beautiful park, Definitely recommend.
- amici (10/5): - Needed a place to stay to attend wedding in Cooperstown. This property was spotless and wonderful. It also allows pets which was important to us. Kitchen has plenty to be able to cook if you want. plus Washer/Dryer. The place was just as listed and convenient to all the places we had to go. All beds and linens are new. Can’t wait to come back!
- niiger (10/5): - Property upgrade with gas fireplaces in the building and some rooms, very nice touch and beautiful surrounding glow of radiant heat. Needed extra pillow and it was there in 5 minutes. Check in went well, it was very easy. We would stay again.

The manager was very friendly and helpful, carried our bags and gave us directions to the restraints, The beds were comfortable and every thing was really clean. .

My grandson would not sleep in his bed because there were spiders in it. When we arrived around 7:30 pm no one was there our key was hanging in the door to the room. How sketchy is that! If it wasn’t already 7:30 I would have driven around to find a different place. Not worth the money I spent that’s for sure

- William (4/5): Disappointing hotel with misleading description - There is nothing baseball-related at The Baseball Hotel other than it's in the same state as Cooperstown. The place was apparently a Jewish men's bath house at one time which is OK, but the building is OLD. Don't be fooled by promise of free breakfast. Nothing is offered or even available including coffee. The location is best described as grungy; the street and immediate area are not maintained or attractive in any sense. What looks to be a vacant building is in back. The room and bathroom are small. No place to set items as the sink rim is narrow and there's no shelf. If I didn't arrive late and wasn't so tired I would have left but there's few other places in this area. The only redeeming quality is a nearby diner that serves a great breakfast.

TV service worked properly, needed to change remote, otherwise, the stay was so comforting and peaceful. The staff here are amazingly helpful and not over bearing. Stay here.

- Hilary (10/5): - Came as perspective travel nurse for a local hospital to check out the accommodations for a 3 month stay. I found the property to be ideal for what I need working nights I need a quite location for daytime sleeping. Bed was extremely comfortable and I have a furnished kitchen. Staff was always on hand if I needed help with anything. I did decide to book the 3 month stay at the Baseball Hotel.

I stayed while a family member was in the hospital. It's a nice hotel with excellent staff. I was able to use their land line to the hospital if my cell phone did not work inside. This was a big help for me. Room was very clean and comfortable.This is why I will always stay here.

My car would not start in the morning and a man doing laundry gladly gave the car a jump and it started right up. Kudos to the staff at the hotel for their help.This is one the best hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time.
- thoma (10/5): - The hotel was awesome. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. Conveniently located within walking distance of a grocery store and a couple of fast food restaurants. Facility is in need of some minor maintenance. Our truck would not start in the morning and a staff member gladly gave us a jump start to get us going. They are providing exceptional service and a welcoming environment for their guests.
- alex (10/5): - We came for a playoff game of Hockey in Utica and some of our team stayed at this hotel. Others stayed at the Lake House. The outside of the Inn is gorgeous, and exceptionally clean! I really, really recommend it! It is close to Cooperstown and Utica. I will definitely stay here each time I visit the region. Very reasonable rates and great for travelling with a group of Hockey players.
- james (10/5): Very nice pet friendly hotel - Pet friendly hotel close to Cooperstown. Very nice…clean…beds are comfy… Definitely would stay at this hotel again. Hotel was nice and warm and clean did smell well.
- amici (10/5): - Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort. This hotel is a very short and simple walk to downtown. We had a fantastic time. The hotel also gave us discount coupons to use towards some of our meals. Perfect setting. See you next year.
- roberta (10/5): - I was very pleased at the young man on the phone with a self check-in instead of a front desk. How smooth and easy it was to do. Hotel is in the village and Easy to get to, lots of conveniences near by. Great service from the staff, our tv wasn’t working properly and someone came up almost immediately to address the issue and fixed it. The Hotel surpassed my expectations for sure and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
- Sean (8/5): Nice stay but no one there to check us in - We came up stopping on our way to visit our daughter. We booked on line, but when we arrived, there wasn't anybody there to check us in. Another group was there with the same problem. We eventually contacted the management was was at a wedding and walked us through what rooms we'd be in etc. Also, the TV set up was less than ideal as it was hard to get service and couldn't get normal channels like ESPN.

- Joan (2/5): - Dirty sheets, it’s inside a old home, not acceptable accommodations no air conditioning dirty shower, definitely not worth the expense of the hotel (which wasn’t a hotel at all)
- Michael (4/5): - The room was ok but tiny. The twin bed felt like a bed of nails. For being named the baseball hotel, the only baseball related item on the property was a map of Cooperstown we got at the hall of Fame. The room was fairly clean more so than the rest of the property. Good enough to sleep in but that is about it.

- Verified traveler (6/5): can do wayyyy better - The first comment by my family upon seeing this hotel was "are you kidding me".the outside was in general disrepair. The lobby was furnished with very outdated furniture including a piano and crocheted afghans. The upstairs hall was lined with church pews all of the way down.Each room had a letter painted on the door. There was a hook with the room keys on it. You could tell which rooms were occupied by missing keys on the hook. Not sure how a homeless person couldn't find their way into one since the hotel front door remains UNLOCKED day and night..and no staff on site at night..only phone numbers to call for assistance. We had 2 queenbeds squeezed in our room. They were comfortable enough. The shower was very small with an old shower curtain. Tv was ROKU controlled. There is a large dining room that is not used. No food. No ice or fridges or microwave available for rooms here.This is a no frills,ancient non updated place. One shining star was the only staff member we encountered,a very sweet lady. She was helpful with any questions we had about the local restaurants and the safety of the area..since doors remained unlocked we were concerned and thankful to have a big dog in our room. I honestly can not reccomend this hotel because it's just not up to par for this day and age and the property appearance is a bit unnerving. I again will praise the sweet front desk lady that works there.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bad publicity for Cooperstown Baseball - Never stay at this hotel, unless you are desperate. The room was tiny, no light in the bathroom that I could find a switch for. The tv wouldn't work for me. After spending less than 1/2 hour in the room, I was summoned to fly to Georgia due to a death in the family. Since I had a reservation for three nights guaranteed, I offered to pay for the first night and requested a full refund for the remaining nights. My request was denied by a gentleman I thought to be the owner. He told me it would be impossible to re-rent the room. Hard to believe since I was the only guest staying there. For me, I will just accept this as poor judgment on my part for making a hotel reservation site unseen.
- Eman (2/5): - The staff were amazing but unfortunately the hotel is outdated. The pillow cases were dirty. The tv was the smallest I’ve ever seen. I had to sit at the edge of the bed to watch it.
- Robert (4/5): - There in nothing to do with Baseball at this property. Rooms are tiny, no room for even a chair. Very old, worn out, in need of much repair. Would not recommend.

- Andrew (6/5): - This is a very clean, basic hotel with a very nice and accommodating staff. The hotel is very old, the rooms are very small, and parts of the outside (like the ramp) need some repairs. It has beautiful vintage flooring and furnishings. It is very convenient to Glimmerglass and Cooperstown, and it is pet friendly. This was our second stay there. The staff is an asset.

- Robert (8/5): Perfect price and location - We had a group of 5 and the suit was more that large enough. It was for the hall of fame weekend celebration. It is only a 25$ uber to downtown, drive is 22 minutes. Perfect location. Ample parking and walking distance to places to eat. Clean room and a shared tv location, which at first felt weird. It did lead to great conversations with other baseball fans. Overall enjoyable stay.

- William S (6/5): - Very little for your money. Bed was comfy and a/c worked were high points. Staff was nice. But the lack of amenities to include no ice machine was difficult. Area near hotel very depressed as well.
- Steven (6/5): Not A Five Star Hotel - The inside cleanliness of the Baseball Hotel was acceptable. Some areas of this hotel were in desperate need of repairs while other areas appeared to have been somewhat updated. Upon check in nothing had been said about amenities, check out proceedures or if we have any issues during our stay. No one was visibly on site to answer questions or voice complaints. No hospitality felt like a boarding room.
- alex (10/5): - Not Fancy but clean & comfortable. I will say it was out a little from Cooperstown but I know I probably read that somewhere. But it was well worth it for the view at the Lake House sister hotel. The lake areas was nice as well. The water activities that we could have paid extra for if we stayed elsewhere were free at the Lake House, boats, kayaks, paddleboats and buggy boards. If you’re headed to the baseball hall of fame I highly recommend it! We were very comfortable in this quiet picturesque setting.
- Jo (8/5): - This is a no-frills, rustic place. No front desk, no visible staff, but we had a phone number to call of text. It was perfect for our little family weekend. We stayed in a 'townhouse', with three bedrooms and three bathrooms for the three couples, and hung out in the living/dining room for breakfast and late evenings.
- Pam (8/5): - The Baseball Hotel was unique. The lobby is full of antiques as are the rooms. No one was in lobby at check in. There was a note to call a number. After 2 calls i reached someone who told me where our room was. The keys were on a hook by our rooms door. Our room was a 2 bedroom bath. No tv in room but a large flat screen in community living room. We had access to a kitchen. There was a calmness and quiet to the place. I didnt sleep well the first night as my dog barked as others came to their rooms. I was uneasy without a deadbolt lock to our room. The 2nd night we were able to sleep much better as no one else was in the townhouse and i could lock the main door. It is a quiet village, restaurants close on sundays. We stayed as it was pet friendly near Cooperstown. We saw one staff member during our stay.
- Angus (10/5): - Great price and location. Lake rights are included with free canoes and kayaks. Free paddleboat use and loaner fishing poles, what could be better. My only wish is that we would have stayed longer. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is very clean. The bed is the most comfortable, this place was perfect for our one-night stay. Would definitely stay again.
- anastacia (10/5): - I stayed just one night after a personal jaunt to the Erie Canal. I enjoyed it immensely, and I was particularly struck with how quiet it was which made for a very restful sleep. They conveniently accommodated our group of four and our bicycles. Since we have family in the area - we will be using this lodging again! A charming hotel, great experience!
