Anouk (7/5): Goed - Prachtige locatie en goed toegankelijk. Parkeerplaatsen naast de deur. Wij hadden het penthouse, hier heb je echt prachtig uitzicht over het meer. Goed bed, en goede communicatie. De wasmachine zit schimmel in en de droger is kapot. Na 4,5 uur een kleine was drogen is de was nog steeds nat. Hierna moesten we het allemaal ophangen, alleen waren er maar 3 hangers en geen droogrek. We hadden niet verwacht dat dit voor deze prijs zo was en moesten we creatief alle was door het hele appartement ophangen. Een grote tegenvaller. Helemaal omdat we dit zo gepland hadden op onze roadtrip, om de kleren tussendoor te kunnen wassen.

Pleasantly surprised at how warm and cosy it was in middle of February - warm heated floors were so appreciated. Loved the community space - excellent for gathering together in comfy seating and at large dining table. Great for small groups. Kitchen well stocked. Beds very comfortable. Beautiful decor. Staff were very friendly and helpful. No concerns with parking and gaining secure access to suites. Incredible value.

Francesco (9/5): It was a lovely, quiet and memorable stay at Whitney Manor. - Lovely location overlooking the St. Lawrence River (Penthouse Suite only) and part of Milton Island. A glorious full moon accompanied us from the balcony during our stay. Now and in the near future is the time to book these penthouse views of the river, as in 10 years or so the trees of the riverfront properties, in front of the Manor, will completely block this view. We also liked the easy access to Kingston or Gananoque for restaurants and sightseeing.

Amy (10/5): Elegant, cosy, old-world charm near the St.Lawrence - Nestled on a quiet street close to the River, Beautiful lot, trees, landscape. The Manor had an old charm and was so elegantly decorated, yet felt very welcoming and homey. The Penthouse suite was well furnished, fully equipped kitchen and very comfortable also. Loved the balcony and view, just wish it wasn't winter, next time will book in the summer! ;) Stunning sunrise with the mist coming off the St.Lawrence. Everything is well thought out as to what a guest might need including a Nespresso! What a treat to stay here! Thank you.

Kerstin (10/5): Eine außergewöhnliche und fantastische Unterkunft - All Suites Whitney Manor ist mir beim Durchstöbern der Buchungsseite sofort durch das historische Gebäude aufgefallen. Es ist ein altehrwürdiges Anwesen und es hat Spaß gemacht, hier Gast gewesen zu sein. Die Suiten haben alles, was man braucht plus eine tolle Aussicht auf den Fluss. Wer persönlichen Kontakt haben möchte, wird hier im Normalfall nicht dazu kommen. Die Anreise ist automatisiert organisiert. Wir erhielten über die Buchungsseite alle Nachrichten, die wir zum Beziehen der Suite brauchten. Hätten wir Probleme gehabt, gab es zwei Telefonnummern, die wir allerdings nicht brauchten. Noch schöner wäre für uns ein persönlicher Empfang gewesen.

The patio on the roof was really the biggest asset ... from dawn to dusk with great view on the St. Lawrence River. There is no escalator, but this wouldn't make sense in this old house!!!

Marcin (10/5): Staying there felt like living in a graceful historic manor, with all the comforts of home and the touches of a boutique - was enchanted by the historic elegance of the building — the beautifully preserved limestone walls, the character-packed architectural details, and the sense of stepping into a refined past. At the same time, its modern comforts (spacious suites, full kitchens, private patios) created a seamless blend of old-world charm and contemporary luxury. Honestly, very little. If I had to be very particular, I would say the Wi-Fi could be a bit stronger — but it hardly took away from the overall wonderful experience.

David (10/5): The accomodation lived up to the photographs and description. A wonderful place for a family gatheri - Accomodation that provided most of the luxuries of home. What a joy to be able to sit on the huge balcony and enjoy the beautiful view. A sitting room that was a pleasure to relax in, and master bedroom with a wonderful king sized bed for those who are tall like myself. The laundry was a great extra touch. The kitchen dinnerware (plates, servingware, tableware) were somewhat sparse. Basic dinner plates, sideplates but no matching serving ware for a three course meal. I made a special dinner on two evenings and had to compromise with oven to table ware. For example the French White Corningware line is inexpensive and functional for casseroles and serving platters. Only two tea towels, no dishcloths for a busy amateur chef. Please don’t take this as a complaint, but for people like myself who love to cook maybe offer an additional cooking package (on request).

Gillian (8/5): Spacious apartment in lovely location. - We stayed in the Sopwell Suite. It was very spacious and comfortable. Our patio was very pleasant to sit on. The location of Whitney Manor is ideal for visiting Kingston, Gananoque and the 1000 Islands National Park. There is lots to do in the neighbourhood but you definitely need a car. I have set out below what could have been better but we did very much enjoy our stay here. The private patio for our Sopwell Suite was not accessible from our suite. We had to walk around to the back of the house. If the back door had been able to be opened this would have been helpful. Although, in general, our suite was very clean, some surfaces such as the ornate mirror in the smaller bedroom were thick with dust. In terms of equipment in the kitchen area, this was quite sparse and the least number of plates, etc we have ever experienced in a property of this size. Surely, too, it could be possible to provide forks and knives from the same cutlery service. It all felt rather haphazard. Communication with the owners was great in the lead up to arrival. However, we didn't get any further contact, prior to check-out, even despite me messaging to apologise for the breakage of one drinking glass. We noted that this entire property is up for sale. We wonder whether this explains the current lack of attention to detail.

Die versprochene Luxus-Ferienwohnung gab es nicht: Die Einrichtung war zusammengewürfelt. Die Küche ohne Geschirrspüler mit Möbeln in Baumarktqualität. Bewegung im Bett ohne Geräusche nicht möglich. Zugang zum See nicht möglich. Nächste Einkaufsmöglichkeit für Lebensmittel 15 min Autofahrt entfernt. Mobilfunk-Loch. Telefonieren nur über WLAN. WLAN extrem schlecht, Internetverbindung brach laufend ab. Wer im Urlaub auch berufliche Dinge erledigen möchte, ist hier nicht gut aufgehoben. Gut für Social-media-detox! Wir sind vorzeitig abgereist.

The beds were quite uncomfortable, and none of us managed to sleep through the night. The bedside light switches were also very inconspicuous—we only realized they were light switches when we were about to check out. Other than that, everything was wonderful. We really loved the decorations and the overall atmosphere.

The surroundings are very nice and the property is in a lush neighbourhood with nicely kept gardens. richardlX2872MJ (10/5): Whitney Manor is a great Experience - We had the distinct pleasure of staying at Whitney Manor in Kingston, Ontario. Kingston is kind of our go to place and we have been there many times over the years staying in many hotels. We are now completely jaded and won't stay anywhere else in Kingston. It is a little outside the city, but a quick 8-10 minute drive and you are right downtown. The manor has been renovated into a collection of individual suites, we stayed in the Whitney suite, which is the largest. There is a great history to the limestone mansion, but I'll let you explore that. In short the Whitney suite is a full two bedroom, with a full gourmet kitchen and a dining room to seat 12! What is great is if you don't use the second bedroom the charge is less. The living room is massive and has 10-12 foot ceilings. The decor is great and still keeps the charm of the original house, but with all of the modern upgrades that you would expect. Our suite also had it's own deck and seating area. There is no front desk, check-in instructions were texted and emailed. There is no on-site restaurant etc., so it is best to eat out or bring your own and prepare it in the amazing kitchen. In short it is wonderful and we will be back.
Jianhua (10/5): - Quiet and beautiful location just 20 minutes drive or so to both Kingston downtown and 1000 Islands Park. The house is unique and outstanding in the neighborhood with beautiful landscaping. Like the comfortable bedroom of classic decoration, spacious living room and well equipped kitchen. A very happy family gathering for two nights here. And by the way, the property manager is very helpful. He mailed the item I left in the house back to me. Thank you.
Stuart (9/5): A beautiful, large and well equipped apartment with character. The balcony is the icing cake - The house is a 3 storey old manor house built in the 1800`s and very well restored. We stayed in the penthouse apartment which has a balcony overlooking Lake Ontario. The apartment is a great size, very well equipped and nicely decorated. The bedroom in particular is a good size and very attractive. The location is about 4 miles outside of Kingston, easy to find, secluded and quiet. There are two flights of stairs to climb which may be an issue for the less limber, but that goes with being a penthouse. Nothing. If you book a penthouse in a 3 storey house then you have to accept that there will be stairs to tackle.
Karl (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed at the Graystone suite. Absolutely beautiful. The suite is stunning, such a cozy ambiente. Super clean and equipped with all we needed. 8 minutes to downtown Kingston by car. We truly enjoyed our stay, and we will definitely stay there again.

isyc2021 (10/5): Tranquil & Beautiful family visit - Whitney Manor offers a peaceful and beautiful setting, with lovely grounds and an attractive building. Our Sopwell Suite was spacious, well-decorated, and very comfortable, the beds are comfortable and I had a restful night – exactly what the family and I needed for a city escape. The owners have equipped the apartments with everything travelers might need, making it an excellent choice for families. The ability to cook and do laundry on-site provides great convenience when moving between multiple locations. I strongly recommend Whitney Manor. As someone who always books chain hotels for a living, I appreciated the seamless self-check-in and the comfort of having a private "mini-apartment" for my family. The apartments are exceptionally well-appointed, and the detailed information, including QR codes for local amenities, demonstrates the owners' thoroughness and move towards a more digitalised format. I appreciate hotels' efforts in reducing their carbon footprint; every step, no matter how small, contributes significantly when we all participate. The family and I only wish was that we had stayed longer to enjoy everything Whitney Manpr had to offer, our visit was too short.

BRWN2019 (10/5): Unique, luxurious, memorable. - This is our luxurious go-to place when in/about Kingston. It is, quite literally, a stand out mansion. There are but a few rooms, all spacious, each unique and lavishly decorated. Think limestone hewn walls, thick, plush mattresses covered with decadent sheets and pillows. The high ceilings, tall windows, original artwork and thick planked pine floors are beautifully appointed. You, like us, can settle in for the eve - with the necessities of home - refrigeration, kitchen accoutrements, thoughtful touches. Can you tell it is our favourite place?. We had parts of our son’s wedding here - and, most recently, brought our great friends for a weekend away to celebrate a landmark birthday. They were equally impressed.
