Guest Reviews
- Michelle (10/5): - First time at a Bed and Breakfast and it did not disappoint. The room had everything you could want. The home is absolutely beautiful with so much character. The staff and service was fantastic! The breakfast experience was like dining in a restaurant. I will definitely stay again.
- Elizabeth (10/5): convenient pleasant stay in victoria - Breakfast was incredible. Such nice staff and delicious eggs Benedict and freshly baked muffins and endless coffee. A lovely start to our vacation! This is an old house with quaint decor and vintage fixtures. We liked that but if youre expecting brand new everything you may be disappointed.
- Elunia (10/5): Amazing staff!! Very kind and so many laughs!😁💗 - Excellent location! Walking distance to everything!!
- Satterlee (9/5): -
- Robert (10/5): Highly recommend. - Great staff. Great location. Nothing.
- Joseph (7/5): - Service incroyable, lit confortable Même si c’était visible sur les photos, un peu trop dans son jus. Bruyant car vieille maison.
- Z7243NJpaulk (10/5): Marketas…THE place to stay in Victoria - This is THE place to stay in Victoria. We’ve been coming to stay at Marketas for many years for our anniversary. Marketa is a warm, friendly and inviting person who personifies old world European flair. Her staff go out of their way to make you feel like you are at home. Beds are comfy. Rooms spotless. So close to Fisherman’s Market and the Inner Harbour. And the breakfast…the breakfast. Fabulous! I’d give 10 stars if I could. Even though we could stay with family and friends who live in Victoria, we stay at Marketas!
- Bob (8/5): - Staff were friendly. Location was really amazing, just blocks away from Fisherman’s Wharf and downtown.
- Nicole (8/5): -
- Tessa (10/5): Wonderful - A building full of character in a quiet location with lovely staff and a delicious breakfast. The location is also excellent for walking around the city. Nothing
- ceilil2026 (10/5): A Wonderful Stay ! - I loved my experience staying at this Bed and Breakfast! My boyfriend and I stayed there for a night in early May and I was delighted with the energy of the staff and the vibe of the building. Our room was so cozy and I loved the decour. Everything was very clean and well kept. It was peaceful and quite quiet as it also is in a great neighborhood, in good proximity to town but far enough to reduce the noise. The staff were really friendly and created such a welcoming and safe environment. The breakfast in the morning felt so calming. I loved coming down to eat as they had great choices for breakfast. Overall, this was a very pleasant place to stay!
- Oleksandra (10/5): Located in walking distance from the downtown and harbour. Old charming building. Breakfast was excellent. - Location is perfect.
- Niall (9/5): Well located and easy to explore Victoria - Older style traditional home with a well appointed en-suite bedroom…just what we needed. Not modern but ideal. Breakfast plentiful and freshly cooked to order…set us up for the day nicely.
- Bob (8/5): - Location and staff. No air conditioning.

- Bernice (9/5): My stay was overall wonderful. - Variety of served breakfasts, very friendly staff. Provided a to go breakfast for my early flight.
Fridge, microwave and dishes in small kitchen. The location was very good for walking to many restaurants, museum, waterfront and Fisherman’s Wharf. Beautiful street.
Called cab for me The darkness of the room and dark bedspread.
- Olina (9/5): -
- Joy Danelle (10/5): Excellent service! - The service from Nadia and Marketa was truly excellent and made our anniversary so special. The room was beautiful, the breakfast was delicious, and the hospitality was unmatched. A perfect, romantic getaway in Victoria!
- Laura Pogue (10/5): The character of the old home, delicious breakfast and location make this a wonderful place to stay. - The home cooked breakfast was delicious and the 2 sisters Mitsche and Nadia who cooked and served breakfast were wonderful. The location is great, very convenient to walk everywhere, Fisherman's Wharf, the Harbour, Downtown. Lots of great restaurants near by. Nothing, this is my second time staying here, and will definitely stay here again next time I visit Victoria.
- Wayne (9/5): - Great location. Great breakfast. Lovely staff.. This is an old 1900’s house with lots of steep stairs.. old style small rooms and bath..
- Shanil (10/5): -

- Collette (9/5): A charming very good value. - The B and B was very clean and decorated in an interesting way. Beautiful flowers surrounded the breakfast area. It was on a quiet street and there was absolutely no traffic noise. It was within walking distance of public transportation. Bed was a little lumpy, but I'm like the princess with the pea.
- P8214CCwilliamm (10/5): A lovely place to 'come home.' - A quaint, tastefully appointed and very clean place to begin and end one's day. The selection of breakfasts is excellent and beautifully presented. Our bed was one of the most comfortable we have enjoyed. Being within a 10 to 15 minute walk or less to the Parliament Building, the Embassy Hotel and the centre of downtown made it accessible to several of the 'must sees' of Victoria. Service was warmly and professionally provided.
- Du (10/5): - We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel.
The breakfast was incredibly delicious, our room was spotless, well-organized, and very comfortable. The view was simply stunning and made every moment feel extra special.
All the stuff were so kind, warm, and genuinely welcoming. They had a lovely, charming vibe and were always polite and thoughtful.
We would definitely love to come back again!
- Michele (10/5): I'd come back. - Staff amazing, breakfasts made for you each morning fresh. Attention to detail impressive. Location perfect.
- Erica (9/5): Particolare oasi fiorita - Atmosfera di altri tempi. Colazioni fantastiche. Posizione ottimale per muoversi sia verso il centro città che verso passeggiate lungo costa e parchi.
- Anne (10/5): Superb B&B in the James Bay area of downtown Victoria - Lovely property in an ideal location that is close to downtown and major attractions. Close to public transportation and a short walk to the ocean. And the breakfast is superb! Also the staff make you feel very welcome. The price is right too! Nothing to dislike.
- Mary (10/5): -
- Patricia (8/5): A nice option for near downtown Victoria. - Nicely decorated room. Full breakfast.
- Leader (8/5): - A great location for accessing activities in the area and a delicious breakfast.
- Steven (7/5): Convenient overnight stay with breakfast. Would book again. Parking was a bit of a problem. - Breakfast and location were great. Annoying beeping all night kept waking us up not sure if it was a low battery from a smoke alarm in the hallway!?
- Zhou (10/5): - Amazing breakfast, friendly staff. Great location
- Junhee (9/5): -
- Brent (9/5): Great stay in a great central location - The location and the staff were both marvelous. Super genteel neighbourhood and friendly, attentive staffpersons. Room was very comfortable and quiet through the night. Breakfasts: Pancakes with fruit and Eggs Florentine tasty; coffee was excellent. Service 100%. Bed was high and somewhat noisy. Bath, while pleasant, was high to enter and exit. Not suitable for elderly.
- Grazia (10/5): Come stare nella casa di piccole donne - Lo stile vittoriano Lenzuola un po datate
- Mizushima (10/5): Lovely b&b! - Location, breakfast, comfortable room, interesting Nothing

The staff were friendly and supportive, making us feel at home. We will definitely be returning!

- Anne Marie (10/5): -
- Brigitte (10/5): We got to experience living in beautifully kept house from the 1920 ties. - The room was furnished in a 1920ties style. But there were all the amenities of modern life to make you comfortable. The location was central but on a quiet residential street. The breakfast was outstanding and served with a smile! We also really enjoyed the big parlor room, which was available to all guests. With this Bed and Breakfast you get more than just a place to stay in Victoria. You get transported back to how wealthier people lived in Victoria one hundred years ago!! Kudos to Marketa to keep the spirit of this vintage building alive and share it with her guests! We were very happy that there was a little kitchenette area in the basement with a microwave, coffee machine, water boiler and fridge for the guests. However we would have liked a little table in that area so we could sit down and eat our soup that we reheated in the microwave1
- Amy (8/5): Good option for a night in Victoria - Great location, clean and comfortable beds and very tasty pancakes for breakfast! Everyone was very helpful and friendly.
- Mike (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - Marketas is a wonderful place to stay. The staff are great and could not do enough for us.
The breakfasts were excellent and the room was very comfortable . Nothing to dislike.
- Şevval (9/5): - Breakfast was amazing!!! They offered us plenty of options to eat and they prepared what we want. Foods were tasty with fresh fruits!. Also they refresh our orange juice and coffee whenever we want.
We will definitely go again.
- Kent (10/5): Marketa was extremely accommodating and the breakfast was 15 out of 10 - Very nice old building. Nothing
- Joanne (8/5): -
- PAI-YI (9/5): - 早餐有特色
- Mieko (10/5): Perfect experience - The house is very historical and beautiful! Staff members are very friendly and professional. The breakfast is amazing! We really enjoyed staying there.

- Eric (10/5): -
- S3435STmichaelj (8/5): Quaint, Charming, and best deal in Victoria. - I booked a trip from booking.com. Right from the beginning Marketa was very responsive and accommodating. I booked a double bed room to stay with my daughter. I asked for a private rest room and Marketa immediately switched our room. The Multiplex home is charming, older and warm. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast was very delicious. This place is the best deal and best kept secret in Victoria.
Thanks so much Marketa and team.
- Bowman (7/5): I slept well, it was easy to get to the Airport from Marketa's place. Breakfast was good and they ac - So Happy I could park my car there and walk everywhere, it was quiet. Owner very attentive when I said I was cold. Dark wood, needs some brightening up
- C238QOjasony (10/5): Absolutely will be back :-) - Another amazing trip to Marketas :-)
The rooms are awesome and the jacuzzi tubs en suite are even better. My wife and I have been visiting twice a year for almost a decade and each time we are happier than the last. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
- Melissa (10/5): Short but so sweet - It was in a great location, so charming and the staff were great! Nothing. The keys were a little tricky but it’s part of the charm.
- Noriko (10/5): -
- Emily (10/5): -
- Karen (7/5): Staff were very pleasant, very clean place in an excellent location but basement room was smelly. - Location excellent, staff were lovely, very clean and bonus to have access to kitchen to store small grocery items. ‘Upgraded’ to a basement room which was very clean but bad musty smell that could not be aired out. Recommend not staying in a basement if you can help it. Furniture is awkward and too large for the room size making it hard to get around in the room and use the space (ie instead of a lounge chair crammed in the corner, a small chair that can pull up to the table / console to sit at, but also tuck away under the table when not in use would be better).
- Aart (10/5): - Very nice place, a beautiful building and a great staff.
- Henry (10/5): -
- Kylee (8/5): -
- Stefanie (10/5): -
- Phyllis (9/5): Really enjoyed it - Staff very accommodating Shared bathroom
- Brianna (6/5): Great for location in Victoria - Location was great, short walk from downtown Victoria, easy access to shops and restaurants. Staff were very friendly. I think we had the only room with a full private washroom which was nice. We didn’t realize a public washroom would be right outside our room, we are light sleepers and found ourselves awake in the night when other patrons had to use the facilities. Our bed was also very hard, and with everything in the building being original or close-to, there were creaks with every step you took. Parking was not ideal as we had a large SUV rental and couldn’t fit in the lot, so we had to park across the street in “Residents Only” parking, risking a ticket.
- Susan (9/5): great accommodation - would stay there again - breakfast was excellent and the choices were great as were the staff
room was comfortable and very clean
location was central to restaurants and things we wanted to see downtown nothing
- Jayson (10/5): Amazing loved it ! - Breakfast was delicious service was amazing!!
Great location! Will be back. Nothing
- Mariia (10/5): - Close to downtown
- Robert (10/5): Embodies true essence of a B&B, charming, friendly and comforting - The building, house, has retained its original build charm. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet with nice surrounding gardens. Rooms and common areas are very clean, neat, welcoming and comforting. The staff are charming and friendly even more than accommodating, anticipating our needs, eg directions, taxis, travel times, real fast choices.
Easy Walking distance along quiet streets to the Empress hotel and harbour.
Breakfast was wonderful.
This B&B embodies the spirit, charm, proprietor friendliness and delightful guests that has led my wife and I to prefer staying at B&Bs for 40 years. To have stayed longer in here in Victoria
- Kin Yu (8/5): Very friendly staff and excellent quality of breakfast served. - Very friendly staff and excellent quality of breakfast Hard to find parking close to the accommodation
- Isobel (9/5): - Beautiful room, amazing breakfast, great location
- Zach (10/5): -
- Anita (8/5): Very good. - Location - walkable distance to my destination bath mat or something inside the bathtub, so that it is not so slippery - afraid of falls.
- Nicole (8/5): -
- Archer (10/5): Nothing short of perfect - The location was amazing, about a 3min walk from parliament but it didn't feel like we were right in the city. The staff were so kind and gave us a full tour of the building as soon as we got there. Our room (upstairs #3) was beautiful. They managed to install AC and electrical without effecting the feel of the building. It was almost out of our price range
- William (8/5): Met expectations - Helpful and attentive staff; good breakfast; located near Victoria's main attractions. Stairs are very steep.
- Carrie (9/5): -
- YUN-KUANG (10/5): - Everything is great.
- Sze Wann (9/5): - Very friendly, great service
- verarM1557IY (10/5): Warm and personal - We loved the warm and personal welcome, and the delicious, nutritious breakfasts. Rooms very comfortable. Highly recommended!
- Jennifer (10/5): - Our parents raved about how beautiful the house was and how kind the staff were. Mom's birthday was a big success!! Everything was wonderful.
- Amanda (9/5): Parking was tough - The room was spacious and comfortable. The house was well kept. Bed was comfortable and the night was quiet.
I actually left my dirty shirt on the floor when we left. I called when I realized and when I came to pick it up, they had also washed it for me. That was a nice perk.
The staff was friendly and breakfast was delicious. Check in and out was smooth The parking. The street no longer has parking on it. The parking lot at the back of the house is tight. I drive a pickup truck and it was a challenge to get into a spot without blocking other vehicles in. We arrived when it was dark already, which made it more challenging. I dont remember hearing about this before we arrived, but our welcome letter mentioned it.
Also, the city had closed the road in front of the house for some construction. One direction is completely blocked off, the other says local traffic only. They are also storing their machines on the road. Arriving was difficult.
None of this is really the fault of the bed and breakfast, but it definitely made our arrival off putting
