• Jonas (9/5): - Ruhige und gepflegte Unterkunft etwas außerhalb von Rethymno, trotz der nahegelegenen Straße angenehm ruhig. Der Strand ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar, das Stadtzentrum gut erreichbar mit dem Auto (10 Min. oder zu Fuß 45 Min). Ideal für Ausflüge mit dem Auto, die Autobahnzufahrt liegt direkt gegenüber. Die Zimmer sind sauber, gut ausgestattet (inkl. Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle, Geschirr) und bieten alles, was man braucht. Die Gastgeberinnen sind herzlich und hilfsbereit. Sogar Strandstühle und Sonnenschirme stehen zur Verfügung. Wir kommen gerne wieder! -

• roselyne (8/5): - Les deux sœurs sont charmantes, à l'écoute et le ménage, qui est fait par elles, est parfait. La seule chose qui manquait c'était le petit déjeuner, qui était annoncé et en photo, dommage. Nous l'avons regretté.

• Jack (10/5): The best of both worlds - Athina is a great value central base where you get the best of both worlds - beach within walking distance and old town charm a bus ride away. Lovely family-run place. The nicest hosts imaginable. The place is very clean and nicely furnished. Beds comfortable. Balconies are big. Air conditioning in each room - decent air conditioning! We got the larger family rooms (basically an apartment) so we could cook breakfast & lunch.

• Shahrzad (9/5): Sehr guter Aufenthalt! - Die Lage der Unterkunft ist wirklich gut und praktisch, alles ist gut erreichbar. Die Wohnung war sauber und gepflegt. Besonders positiv: die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und sprechen sogar Deutsch, was die Kommunikation sehr erleichtert hat. Toll war auch der neue Aufzug im Haus, der den Aufenthalt komfortabler machte. Ein paar Punkte möchten wir aber auch anmerken: Durch die Lage an der Straße war es nachts recht laut, sodass wir die Fenster geschlossen halten mussten. Zum Glück funktionierte die Klimaanlage sehr gut, sodass das kein großes Problem war. Die Küche war außerdem sehr klein und nicht optimal ausgestattet. Für vier Personen gab es nur wenige Grundutensilien (z. B. nur 2 Löffel und 3 Gabeln). Auch wenn wir meist in Restaurants gegessen haben, wäre eine vollständige Grundausstattung für mindestens vier Gäste wünschenswert. Positiv: Wenn man etwas braucht und den Gastgeber fragt, bekommt man es natürlich auch. Etwas stressig war zudem die Regelung zur Reinigung: Diese erfolgte nur bis 11 Uhr vormittags. Mit zwei Kindern war es nicht immer möglich, die Wohnung rechtzeitig zu verlassen, sodass die Reinigung dann entfiel. Hier wäre eine flexiblere Lösung für Familien sehr hilfreich. Trotz dieser Punkte haben wir unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen :-)

• Daria (10/5): Прекрасне місце для усамітнення і розслабленого відпочинку - Чудовий міні-готель на окраїні Ретимно в тихому районі. Сподобалось, що власники попіклувались про весь комфорт гостей: видають для користування пляжні парасолі, надувні матраси, туристичні стільці, а також випаровувач від комарів. Наш номер виходив вікнами на північ — було видно шматочок моря з-за дерев. Хоч готель і старий, але в ньому є сучасний ліфт. Прибирання якісне, кожні 2 дні, дуже чисто. Номер перевершив наші очікування, бо здався більший, ніж на фото, мав мікрохвильовку і набір посуду. До дикого пляжу йти 5-7 хвилин, до міського пляжу з шезлонгами 15-20 хв, до центру міста 50 хв пішки або 15-20 хв на автоубсі. На сусідній ділянці, яку видно з балкону, йде будівництво і лежить будівельне сміття, це трохи псувало естетичні враження.

Here are some highlights: √ beach is on 4 mins walking distance √part of the beach close to the apartment was always empty so you won't find crowds here like in Chania √owner allow to rent for free umbrella and chairs √there was a tiny seaview from my balcony even if it wasn't in description. I had a view of the garden and saw donkeys and goats wandering around which was heart touching experience √i have received even raid plugs for mosquitos! -picturesque sunrises from the balcony. √the best taverna i have tried around Rhetimno area is just 2mins walk √ there is a small taverna right on the beach to have a coffee or snack and it's not touristy √Lidl is approximately 15mins walk, there are two three shops within 5mins walking distance √-wifi signal was strong and phone was charging quickly √room has necersailly kitchen equipment (apart from oven) to prepare some breakfast (cups, cutlery, plates,kettle, fridge,freezer, french press for coffee and microwave) √owner respect the privacy of their guests and they don't bother you, it's a family run business so you also contribute for local people by renting this place It's not as i didn't like something,but worth to mention it's for people looking for peaceful and calm holidays surrounded by nature, it's not for party animals.
• Michał (10/5): Fantastic place - Second time I spent time in this place and once again it was time well spent. Apartments are perfect, clean and well-equiped with everything we needed. Cleaning service every two days, changing towels and everything, really nice. The location is great, close to the beach, shops, very good restaurant on the other side of the street and bus stops with buses going to the city centre (which is in walkable distance tho) Great place, great value for money.

• Marta (10/5): Exceptional - The room and the hotel in general were 100% clean and comfortable (very comfortable bed). The terrace outside the hotel and the balcony in the room were lovely. My room was quiet and bright. Easy parking, shops, beach and restaurants nearby, access to the national road to Chania/Herakleion round the corner. The owners are nice and helpful. The room has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. It's a 45 minute walk into Rethymno 's old town, or a short bus ride. Ideal place to stay :) I liked everything!

When in Greece, I feel most comfortable in family run small hotels and it was a pleasure to meet Helena, Athina and their mother. They are doing a great job keeping up this place. Parking is right in front of the building. We will definitely stay in this hotel on our next trip to Rethymno.

• Edgars (8/5): Best hotel compare in other two in Chania and Heraklion. - Great personal, yard for parking, also kettle for water and coffee. It's like nearly all hotels, no soundproof rooms. But maybe it's just for me it's very important. And no strong rules about quite period on night time.

• Mick (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, just a couple of Kilometers from Rethymno town, just 200m from the beach, and 200m from the Express way which offers easy access to Chania and Heraklion. The room was very large with big double bed (2 singles pushed together), settee, air con, tv, bedside lights, fridge and basic food prep things like knives, forks, cups, plates and kettle. The bathroom was also very large with shower, sink, toilet and large mirror. Plenty of hot water too! Hosts, Athina and Helena were perfect! Welcoming, friendly, helpful, and informative. If you want a quiet place to stay but still have access to tavernas, restaurants, supermarkets, beach etc then Athina is the place to stay! Highly recommended! There's nothing to dislike.

The hosts was excellent and very friendly. Very helpful. There was a fish restaurant up the road that was great. The location was not what we thought. Far from the old city and the more popular beach. The closest beach was 100m along a busy road then 200m or I think even more on a gravel road to the beach. I was hoping Athina was on the beach. Far from where all the umbrellas and beds are on the beach. Had to walk far up with the beach to reach umbrellas and beds. I eventually rented a car where the hosts where very helpful. She organised a car in 10minutes delivered to Athina. That was great.

The hosts were really kind, we enjoyed talking with them! We expected less, but got more for a really good price. The beach was near-by, the city was beautiful, the terrace was amazing, we could prepare and eat our breakfasts there. All facilities mentioned in the Booking were available. We recommend to have a car there, because the city center is quite far away.
