- Alan (10/5): - Recently refurbished so that was nice . We thought all the staff were really friendly and professional to both humans and dogs . It was nice that the team at the hotel all pulled together , conversed with the guests and looked good in their uniforms. We have no qualms about saying Book ! you will love it - its a very welcoming place in the middle of the forest.

The cleanliness of the hotel and the room was impressive and the bed made us feel like sleeping on a cloud. Breakfast was lovely as well. Also it’s a 15 minute walk to Burley Village. My cousin and I loved our stay at Moorhill House!

- Susan (2/5): - The room was not a twin as we had booked, but we decided not to let this affect our stay. However the room was dirty and tatty. The toilet blocked and flooded the room. We had to move hotels, however they only had a room for one night. So for our second night we were sent back. The room we were given was dark and dirty and so sadly we cut our break short and left.
- Michelle (6/5): - Desperately in need of some TLC, with threadbare carpets and tired decor. Public areas were not particularly clean. Bedrooms clean, with comfortable beds. Dog friendly and a good position for walking.

- Katrina (10/5): - We wanted to stay in Burley for a night & found this little gem. The hotel is beautiful & set in a quiet part of the forest, only a few minutes drive from the center of Burley. The room was well equipped & comfortable. We would definitely stay again.
- Martyn (10/5): - A lovely atmosphere and staff are very accomodation. Rooms are large. Apparently they want to refurbish the hotel in November. I hope they keep the same feel to the hotel. We will definitely be going back.

Large car park. The staff were lovely and could not be more helpful. The breakfast was very nice. Plenty to choose from and fresh for all it was only a continental breakfast. I would happily stay there again

Only downside was because it’s pet friendly there was a dog and a noisy owner next door to me that were loud. Not the hotels fault so I’ve not marked them down, but something to consider if you’re sensitive to noise.

Just be aware that they only serve breakfast and if you’re looking to have dinner you will either need to bring your own or make sure to have dinner booked somewhere. Everything else was spot on and the setting is magical

We didnt have breakfast. To the hotel management: With some TLC this could be a destination hotel. You are also very lucky you have such nice, cheerful staff, it makes a real difference.

- steven (8/5): Ideal Family Retreat Venue - A delightful venue, where we were well looked after and perfect for a relaxing family trip with our dog. The staff were very accommodating, and patient with our dog who had a few barky moments! The beautiful garden was perfect to exercise our son and the dog, which was also ideal, and contributed to a restful sleep in an amazing bed. Only gripe was the shower, bit of a krypton factor scenario to get it to work properly, and the pressure was still poor. Otherwise lovely place, in a perfect location for a walk to Burley, or drive to wider New Forest locations.

- Jane (8/5): - Staff extremely helpful and pleasant. Nothing seemed to be a problem but was not a delux room as described on our booking. The room was very dusty and cobwebs on ceiling. The room was nice and warm but smelt damp.

- Mark (4/5): - A lovely looking hotel in a great location but a massive disappointment in the room. A very small room, 4 poster bed but no head board so pillows slip down the back continuously, very uncomfortable! Not much sleep! Too much furniture so you can only get in one side of the wardrobe.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - We had a a really good stay. The bedroom was comfortable and spacious. The staff friendly and the food in the restaurant very good. I did have problems during my stay with warnings appearing on my mobile phone as the hotels wi fi is not password protected. That said I would happily return to the hotel in the future.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Rude staff. - The hotel was set in beautiful surroundings, within the new forest were horses roam freely. The garden area was delightful and had seating for those who wish to eat outside or simple have a drink or two. They have a small simple indoor pool which the children loved and the facilities all in all were pleasing. For me, what let this hotel down was the attitude of some staff members.. as a young family we were clearly not their usual clientele, and this was made obvious by the look on their faces when we passed through the hotel. One of the receptionist staff, an older lady was stood on the stairs having a chat with another lady who stood at the bottom, as the children passed her on the stairs, she stopped talking looked at each of them and screwed up her face. I appreciate she may have felt they they should have waited for her to move however I do not feel that she should have stood there mid flight of stairs having a chat in the first place, so her facial expressions were not needed and quite frankly rude and unprofessional. The oldest of the children who is 11, actually said she liked the hotel but not the people in it as they made her uncomfortable. So just to clarify, if you are an older person this place is for you, those of a younger age are not as welcome.
- Chelsea (4/5): An ordinary hotel - This place reminded me of fawlty towers - a place that was falling apart, in need of some money and love. The hotel has potential but is sadly not making the most of it. The issues - a leaking roof in the dining room, no toilet roll holder in the bathroom, ordinary service, very average rooms that lacked some basics such as fridges and where you could hear everything from neighboring rooms, disappointing breakfast where the pancakes were tough... On the plus side was the lovely forest just meters away and the beautiful hotel lawn!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location with beautiful gardens. Only downside during the busy wedding season is there are no separate areas outside for non wedding guests to relax unless you sit inside.
- Peter (8/5): Work needed - This was our second visit to Moorhill house.We love the area. The hotel is in desperate need of updating. The swimming pool was closed for repair throughout our stay and we were only notified of this when we arrived. Also complimentary toiletries were not replenished during our stay. The hotel is drastically understaffed. Having said that the staff on duty worked extremely hard to make our stay pleasant. A special mention to Callum who seemed to be everywhere and although inexperienced he coped well. I think management need to look at staffing and training at Moorhill house which could turn a good hotel into a great one.
