Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (2/5): Dirty frat house. - We arrived to a old and small house, not a "hotel". It is like a hostel with rooms rented out to young party animals. We were told we had to pay the hotel directly and not through expedia. The bathroom and kitchen were so dirty that we did not feel clean in the rooms either so we slept with our clothes on. From 3 in the morning until 6 in the morning the other men renting were drunk and yelling all night long. The yelling started again at 9 in the morning. They rented a bedroom to a tleast 4-5 young men. There was no dishwashing soap in the kitchen and there was a extremely old and dirty sponge meant to clean the dishes. We had to drink water with our hands. The shower curtains are covered in dirt. The bathroom has black mold. We paid $75 dollars for one evening, for that amount of money you could afford to hire someone to clean up. We felt dirty and sick the next day and had no sleep at all from all the noise. It was a horrible stay that we are still recovering from.
- Dawn (8/5): Close to downtown - It's a great little house. I would have given 5 but the WiFi kept cutting out. If your looking for peace and quiet this is the place.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Property emailed me hours before saying they only accept cash???? Bs
- Sandip (4/5): Tiny room, shared bathroom, unexposed fees - Very small room, additional parking fee, shared bathroom with other 3 rooms, no AC, no heat control
- Wojciech (8/5): Great location and price. - Had to wait few minutes after calling for the owner to get in. May create a problem for someone without a cell phone. Our room was in a basement which wasn't planned and one bathroom for 3 rooms was not good for emergencies.
Overall: very nice service, clean house, room and bathroom. Kitchen equipped with most you need , good coffee maker. Only two parking spots in the backyard for a small fee a day by Toronto standards, so call ahead and book the space otherwise you have a street with some restrictions.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Nice location budget hotel - Room was tiny and hot... good if you are in budget..
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It is a very efficient and tidy house that is parceled out into rooms for rent. The room I stayed in for the night was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was shared, and I had no problems. The shower water was hot. The place was within 5 minutes walk of restaurants. It was all I needed for my overnight layover while traveling through Toronto.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice clean room exactly what we needed except that there was no air conditioning or at the least a fan to try and stay cool. An excellent place to stay if the weather is not too hot.
- paul (8/5): - It was ok
- Lodewikus (4/5): Not what was displayed on website - We knew this was a hostel and the area it was in which is fine, but we searched for private bathroom places and this was not a private bathroom, it was outside our room and it was shared with more than our room. I have bladder issues and would never book a place with a non private bathroom. The staff was good, the place was clean but it was not what we searched for and this should really be in the area for people who dont need a private bathroom. ALSO no AIRCON, FAN and didnt notice any type of heating, our trip was during summer. I have other health issues and couldnt sleep much from heat, asked the staff for a fan, said theyd bring one for me, they never did.
- Emad (4/5): Ad misleading - Ad at Expedia does not clearly indicate washroom is shared. For the $80/night I have paid I definitely would expect to have my own washroom. The place was noisy too, but I would blame this on other guests not the staff who were nice.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Must call to get in! Quiet and great location - It was different sort of stay due to the fact that management is not on-site (so a house with many roommates). You get a key to your own room and a code for the front door.
Pro - Great location! Right near Kensington market, Chinatown, and little Italy.
Quiet and comfortable.
Con- At arrival, we had to call a Canadian phone number to reach management who had to confirm our reservation and give us the code. This took some time, which made us worry and in the meantime sat out in the street in the dark. I was lucky because my friend had a Canadian phone, or I wouldn't have gotten in!!!
It seems well cleaned everywhere, except the kitchen cupboards could use more thorough disinfecting.
- John (8/5): Mar 4/16 stay - Comfortable. Good rates.
- Verified traveler (6/5): It is just a family hotel. - I went there with my friends, actually, ex-girlfriend.... It was just a small house, transforming into a hotel. The staff was good and I felt assured for her, as you know, in a family hotel I have to stay with anyone for a night, even a freak. So the first is safety.
There were some facilities, but I did not dare to use. As I share with other guys. But it was not that bad.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Locked out! - We were locked out of the hostel at 3am and no one answered for an hour. The room was cold when we got in. There was one roll of toilet paper total. Wouldn't go back.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The house is kept nice inside. Room was clean but this time there was a terrible odor in the house. When we put a few items into the fridge I discovered this was the likely source of it. It would have been more bearable without the stench. I have been to this place before but after this experience not sure if I will return again. And there are no visible staff there at all everything done via text
- Not Provided (6/5): Fair value. - It was a simple visit. Warm & cozy. Comfortable beds. Not really a hotel. But it's warm accommodation. For the price, no complaints.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Avoid this place. - This is not a place I would ever stay again.I had to call a phone number for a person to come in 2hrs to check me in. It is more like someone bought the house and turned it into a bunch of rooms to rent. Bathrooms are shared...yuch! Paper thin walls...shared kitchen where other guests or possibly students banged cupboards. Guests tried to get into my room wondering what the room was. I had to tell them to go away. Room had a lock but a three year old could have pushed it open. I honestly want my money back but know it is not going to happen. I am not normally a complainer...thus was ridiculous. The person checking me on did not even have my booking which was done 6 days earlier. Not impressed with Hotels.com either.
- Katrina (8/5): Great! - Nice family owned home. No cream or whitener for complimentary coffee though. I missed that.
- Angela (6/5): - Great location, room was small for 2 people using 2 beds, 1 bathroom for 4 rooms so sometimes you would have to lineup. Room and bathroom were very clean, overall good stay, close to Kensington market and all shops and cafes!
