Marcelle MABIALA (4/5): Décevant - Pas grand chose Déjà à mon arrivée j’ai dû attendre plus d’une heure avant d'avoir une chambre prête, la chambre donnait sur la rue donc pas évident de lever les rideaux au risque d'être vue par ceux de l'extérieur, puis l'éclairage était faible, le frigo ne marchait pas, la TV également pas moyen de suivre le journal ni les informations, j’ai relancé plus de 2 jours sans succès pour avoir un technicien, la douche n'avait pas de flexible pour se laver, au toilette difficulté à tirer la chasse vu que le bouton était cassé, la piscine était sale, petit déjeuner servi sans pain, ascenseur disfonctionnel on a dû prendre les marchés, bref je n'y remettrai plus les pieds, si je n'avais pas déjà payé pour toute la semaine, j’aurai quitté plus tôt

Since my flight was arriving at 2 am in the morning but on arrival they were no where to be found. I was stranded at the airport. I was snatched by another Hotel shuttle. Too bad, luckily I didn't pay in advance

Davide (1/5): Worst experience in business travels in years. - Breakfast has quality food. We booked the AirPort shuttle 2 days earlier by phone: they came 1,5 Hours later than agreed (it was 04:00 in the morning and we traveled 15hours to attive here). But the worst was yet to come! At arrival in reception, our rooms were not available. We’ve been sent to the 2Stars Akwa Iin, told us to be patient till h14:00 that our rooms would have been available. But at 14:00 again: rooms not available yet, wait another night. One of the worst experiences in many years of business travel. Only one remarkable thing was the good quality of the food during the only breakfast we have consumed at arrival. Pity for the very bad organization they have. I can not suggest this hotel to anyone, how can you be sure that rooms are available? By the way Akwa Iin is not so bad, people is nice there, but it’s a cheaper 2 star. Early in the morning there were 3 mouses swimming in the pool. Maybe is normal overnight, I don’t know.. The thing is: We had all confirmations of availability in Akwa Palace and this behavior is not serious.

PHILIPPE (8/5): BON emplacement, propreté, un bemol pour la navette payante meme pour les chambres supérieures - Nous avons apprecié le confort de la chambre Deluxe, même si les télévisions et leurs connexions laissent à désirer. Le petit déjeuner est très bien et copieux. La propriété est appréciée. Les Prix des chambres sont un peu chères. D'autres hotels sont plus confortables sur Douala avec un prix c'est vrai un peu plus cher aussi mais pas de beaucoup plus. Par contre le passage en service payant de la navette aéroport pour les personnes qui payent une chambre supérieure deluxe , comparé aux autres années où cela était gratuit, est très dommageable , 3000 FCFA ! Seules les personnes en chambres standard devraient payer ce service, la majorité des grands hotels dans le monde mettent ce service gratuit!

Georgie (8/5): - Amazing customer service and the best I have ever seen in any hotel in the world. I travel a lot and this hotel should reward their staff for outstanding customer service especially Vivian the front desk manager. The hotel has a good European standard and the location is very good. The food was amazing and we paid for breakfast but they went the extra mile to offer us lunch to replace breakfast as we couldn't get up early in the morning to have breakfast. Thanks for your hospitality and we will coming back soon

The extension to the initial facility was constructed and unveiled when I was a teenager. I had been away for decades. Going back there some of the first times was just for dining. The Junior suite whas big and clean, and the breakfast whas good, there whas European food and African food so enough choice for everyone! The food in the restaurant whas not the best, but i think thats a matter of taste.

The rooms facing the pool are quiet. The shuttle to and from the airport is free. The were several things that weren’t so good: On my second stay I arrived at 7.30pm to be told that the hotel is full. It eventually transpired that they were still cleaning some rooms, presumably due to some customers being allowed extremely late checkouts despite those rooms being sold for the following night. I eventually got a room after standing at reception for 1 hour and 20 minutes. I suggested that some compensation might be in order but they only offered a free drink ($3!). It was later increased when I complained to the manager. The aircon in one room didn’t work well. On the first stay , the airport pick up didn’t show up despite reconfirming it the day before, so I had to take a local taxi to the hotel at night time. There’s quite a lot of traffic noise from the street side of the hotel. One morning there was only a trickle of running water for several hours, but that might not be the hotel’s fault. Some rooms safely deposit boxes are key operated. They only provide the key if you sign that you will re-imburse them US$750 if you lose the key which is outrageous and more than my valuables are worth!
