- Warren (10/5): Long Awaited Family Trip - The location of Beacon Hotel is wonderful. It is smacked right in the middle of the Feng Jia Night Market. One can easily pop by the area be it in the morning for a quick bite on breakfast or a late-night supper. Amenities wise are alright. One plus point, the shampoo provided by the hotel is one of the best amongst the majority of the hotels of the same price range I've patronised. It is also convenient for drivers to pick up tourists right in front of the hotel. Those who are driving may face challenges in negotiating to the hotel car park entrance during the night.

- YY (10/5): - We booked a family room (for 4). It is spacious. There is 2 washers and 2 dryers on the 8th floor, which we use on all 3 days of our stay. Fengjia night Market is just a minute walk away, and there are a few 7-11 and equivalent stores around. Breakfast is included in our accommodation, and quite typical of most hotels.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was clean. Location is great since it's right smack in Feng Jia Night Market. There was a laundry room, however tthere were not enough washing machines and dryers. Also needs a proper system to ensure people don't hog on to the machines. We ended up lugging our wet laundry to a 24hr coin operated laundromat (450m, 6min walk) to dry our clothes at 1am in the morning. Advice to anyone who wants to do their laundry, just go to the coin operated laundromat as they use industrial standard equipment there. Apart from that, the lifts are extremely slow and small. When a huge tour group arrives, you can be prepared to wait 15-20min just to get into the lift.

Only issues was their aircon for 1st night which was heated mode for all our rooms and we perspired thru the night. Then after 2nd stay the central AC was alright as the staff explained they have fixed the issues. Staff wasnt well versed in English but were friendly. Breakfast selection was quite limited but has a variety of carbs dishes (congee, rice, noodles, bread) . Overall quite a comfortable stay.

We arrived at 5.30 pm and was told to wait for a while as the staff is still cleaning up the room. They apologised by saying that it is full occupancy & some had late checkup . If the room is already booked, why did the hotel agree to late check out? Imagine if we checked in at 3 pm (international time), then we have to wait for 2 hr 45 min? This is really bad. We’ve been staying in this hotel every year (almost) for the past 6-7 years. The hotel does not recognise the regular customers as it does not have any VIP card (I like most hotels i’ve Stayed before). I’ve also told them a few times before that the wardrobe should have more hangers (instead of 3 for 2 people). Alas, all feedback not taken seriously. So I brought along extra hangers this time round, which comes in handy.

There’s a heavy smell in the room though, like some after paint/metal/acidic/alcohol smell. Don’t know how to describe this, but it hits the nose until unbearable. We bought our own air purifier (our habit) which usually does the job for clean air in the room, but the smell in this room is too strong for it!

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel is right in the middle of Fengjia night market. Room is a bit old, wallpaper torn and bed is not so comfy. Worse is the toilet. It got clogged. Receptionist came over to help to unclogged and told us not to throw soiled toilet paper. I can’t accept this.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Very convenient location!!! Clean rooms. - Clean rooms, very convenient location for shopping, night market, food, but need to take bus for sightseeing. I can go back to the hotel to drop off my shopping bags and go down again for dinner. Checkout time is 12pm, which is a bonus. Staff are very nice, they helped me carry my luggage downstairs to the taxi. Just find the room is not sound proof, I can hear people talking outside my room early in the morning and woke me up. The bathroom can use more storage and hooks for hanging things. There was no place to hang my towel.

- CHOON SENG (10/5): Beacon Hotel -great value for your buck - The hotel is located just on the fringe of FengJia night market and is super convenient. Room is clean and WiFi is strong. Amenities are adequate.
- Raymond (2/5): Poor service - Poor service. I could not connect to WiFi on 8th floor and the staffs (one lady I believe is the supervisor) were not helpful at all. They said I am the only one cannot connect so could not offer help. Their staff also could not connect when they came to my floor for assistance.

- Vanessa (10/5): Nice staying hotel, superb location - It’s a very convenient and comfortable hotel. It serves nice breakfast and have very friendly staff. Only 2 downside was its shower curtain is too short and water floods the bathroom and they only provide 2 pillows instead of 4 pillows for a king size bed. We can smell cigarette smoke even though it’s a non smoking hotel but this is more the fault of the occupiers which we highlighted to the staff and they set forth to investigate.
- Chu (8/5): Great location - It's very close to Fengjia Night Market, a great location for foods and shopping. The lobby is on the 12th floor. The staff were friendly when I checked in. I reserved a Classical Double room. The bed was very comfortable. I slept very well during my stay. However, I wasn't very happy with the bathroom. It looked much smaller and less modern than the pictures. I felt I was cheated. The design of shower head holder was quite weird. It wasn't adjustable, and it showered straight up. The other thing I felt sad was the breakfast. I liked their variety of breakfast, which was served until 10am, but I guess they stopped refilling foods after 9am. There were some empty containers when I got there from 9am.

- May (8/5): Excellent Location in Feng Jia - We stayed in the Family Room which comes with 1 double bed and 2 single beds. The size of the room, including bathroom is kinda small for our family of 3 adults and 1 child. The aircon also requires maintenance as it gives off a loud bang every 10-15 mins or so.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Skip the standard room - Repeat stay at Beacon, however wrong choice to book the standard room as the room was near the elevators and was noisy with fengjia market just below us. The entire floor carpet has a wet stench, especially in the room and from the toilet. Sheets were not clean, and I had difficulty sleeping the entire night. Only comforting part was that the location was superb, and service staff were friendly. Will consider to stay again, but in their deluxe room instead

- SL (2/5): need to improve on customer service - the front office staff really need to improve on their customer service. i requested for twin bed upon check-in and they told me that only big double bed can be assigned to me even though they did have twin bed available. Only until i showed them evidence that i had indicated in the remarks column during reservation that i needed twin bed then they are willing to re-assign twin bed to me. that should not be the way. also, as we were about to check-out the hotel in less than 20 mins’ time, so we requested if they could kindly help us charge our phone over at their counter while we were having our breakfast. but their rude front office staff insisted that we needed to go back to our hotel room and charge our phone even if its just a mere 20 mins of phone charging. hotel was inflexible and unwilling to go the extra mile. very disappointed in their customer service.

- KA MAN (10/5): Convenient location! - It's located in a good neighborhood. The night market and everything are just across the street. There's a taxi stop within two-minute walk, which is very convenient for us since we didn't rent a car this time. The only issue is that if you stay at a lower level room, you might hear some noise at night because of the crowd. We stayed at 7th this time and we could hear some during our sleep.
- Felix (10/5): My Stay At the Beacon Hotel and Taichung - My family and I stayed there for 3 days from 20th to the 22nd of December 2017. We were pleasantly surprised by the service as they let us check in earlier than 3pm as we had booked a car to bring us around Taichung. It is also within the Fengjia Night Market and very convenient to move around. Service was great as we complained that we could not get Wifi signals and they came to the room to do a test within minutes and gave us access to the other floors' wifi too. I would love to go back there again if I ever visit Taichung in the future.

- Rebecca (10/5): Located next to Fengjia Night Market - Don’t be misled by the entrance of the hotel. The hotel lobby was on the 12th storey and it was service oriented with staff welcoming you the moment the lift door opens.

- Sam (10/5): Strategic location to visit Feng Jia night market - Excellent location. Family room not bad. Standard room's toilet room no door. It would be good if there is a longer length of shower screen to reduce the water from spreading out all over the places.
- mh (10/5): Feng chia night market just downstairs! - Booked a standard double room-clean room but small for 2 pax with luggages. Location is great as it is within feng chia night market. Recommend to stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Bed Bugs, room full with smoke smell - The room given full with smoking smell, we requested to change room but were told all rooms were fully occupied. There were bed bugs on the bed too, I realized I was bitten by bed bugs the next morning i woke up. The shower head was not adjustable too. Even the location is amazing but I couldn't sleep well the whole night.
- KenF (10/5): Extremely good location beside Fengjia Market - Extremely good location with Fengjia Market right at the doorstep. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. Hotel comes with washer & dryer which was important for me as we stayed for 4 days. Room is big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids.

The briefing on the use of the security feature in the lift and where to take our breakfast was done professionally. Our queries were answered promptly and the information we received was accurate. We will definitely return the next time we visit Feng Jia in Taichung city.
- YONG QUAN (8/5): - The hotel is located in fengjia night market one of the most visited night market in taichung. Hotel staff are very friendly. Overall it is a good hotel to stay.
