Guest Reviews
- Natalie (8/5): - Greeted by very kind staff. The area is quiet and safe to walk around at night. Found a lovely restaurant just behind the hotel too.
- Juan (8/5): - I loved my stay here! The people were wonderful and the area was very humbling to say the least. I would book again. Only reason I gave it a four is because there were a few cockroaches that popped up in the room as well as a small lizard. For a traveler like me, it’s no big deal but o just thought I’d let everyone know! Loved this place.
- Arnaud (4/5): - At arrival reception not able to speak English ? Check in was very "strange"
Partially no electricity in the bathroom.
Safe in the room was broken.
Restaurant/Breakfast was closed.
- Ross (8/5): - Cambodian staff were great. The bathroom could do with some updating and deep cleaning. The location of the hotel is pretty far out from the centre and not really walkable.
For the price it’s good.
- marcus (10/5): Siem Reap Value Hotel - Alles OK.Nice Staff and owner.Clean beds and good amenities.Quite big rooms and a small pool to relax.
- marc (8/5): - Friendly helpful staff, the room was a large size and in average condition. The room was not cleaned the two full days staying there.About a 30 minute walk to the tourist area of pub street.Good for the price paid.
- Debbie (10/5): - Customer service at the front desk was top notch. Thank you for all
your help. Pool was beautiful, clean and refreshing.
- Valli L. B. (2/5): A great disappointment - The hotel was in poor location away from the town. It was very poorly lit. The initial unit’s bathroom was in a terrible state. The bathroom had patched up concrete walls and floor and no partition or curtain from the shower to the bathroom floor. There was no hot water and when I took a shower, water ran over to the bathroom and the bedroom floor. The towels were threadbare. The young gentleman who served breakfast could not understand English and had to get the manager every time I asked for coffee or tea. The coffee was too strong and the tea was lukewarm. They ran out of croissants one day. They promised to have breakfast boxed for Angkor wat sunrise tour but I did not see a sign of another human being except the night watchman. So much for boxed breakfast. The breakfast was supposed to start at 6 am but was never ready before 6.45 am. They had no sugar for in room coffee and tea making.
To be fair they did change my room but the hotel overlooked a rubbish dump. The front desks people were helpful, the beds comfortable and the air conditioning was good. They were the saving graces for the hotel. The surroundings and the transportation were not good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place is cute boutique hotel. The staff is great and friendly. They are super accommodating. I had a sunrise tour and they went out of their way to pack a breakfast box for me. They gave me recommendations and made sure i was comfortable. The pool is lovely. Its small but it was perfect. The sheets and towels are a bit old, but i didnt mind it. The bathroom and shower is very old, but it was still decent. Its in a very quiet area. Its not far from city center. But i dont recommend walking. Its far to walk. You can easily grab a tuk tuk, use GRAB, or have the front desk grab you one. Overall, i would stay here again.
- Evonne (10/5): - The staff are nice and friendly. With such an affordable price but the staying is great and comfortable. Really enjoy our stay.
- Uzzal (10/5): I recommend this Hotel - The room is big and clean. Though Hotel is 1.5Km far away from the City center but the rent is reasonable. Staffs are good and helpful. Hope Booking this hotel is a good idea.
- Andy (10/5): - Very attentive, helpful staff. Clean rooms and located in a quiet area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Net hotel. Gasten wel luidruchtig. Personeel vroendelijk.
- Jiwon Kim (8/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I don’t like the bathroom because when you take shower, it’s flooding and the air conditioning is not cold
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Front desk Nat was extremely kind and helpful. Staff was also kind and accommodating. Great compassion and care!
- Peter (8/5): - Very nice staffs and services
- Verified traveler (10/5): - friendly staff, great location and awesome room.
they offered airport transfer, lower price for transportation and food at their local restaurant.
we would come back anytime!
- Elena (8/5): - 1.
- Mårten (10/5): Great stay at River Bay Villa - We had a really good stay at River Bay Villa. Very friendly, helpful, english-speaking staff. Great food at the Lava restaurant. 20% off for hotel guests. Nice and calm area. Ask for Mr. Nat for airport transfer and other tuk-tuk services.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff here are so friendly and other facility are so good !!!
- Risa (10/5): - the people were really helpful and it is a lovely boutique hotel
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We only stayed at this property for a few hours but we thought it was wonderful. We had a suite and it was the perfect amount of space for three guest. They also allowed us to keep our bags in the lobby while we were at Angkor Wat. Overall, I'd be happy to stay there again.
- laurent (10/5): Pour visiter Angkor - Hotel calme, personnel aux petits soins, piscine agréable
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff.
Love,y restaurant and a nice pool
- MartyG (10/5): - It was a little bit off putting as we drove up, but once you step inside it's beautiful, quiet, clean, nothing like the street. We were received with smiles every time we saw the staff. The restaurant was nothing special, but food was acceptable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Free pick up on arrival to Siem Reap. Staff recommended show and means to travel to it and staff was right, show was so fun. Travelled with ease to amazing Angkor Wat by experienced tuk-tuk driver from hotel. Love the swimming pool. Breakfast was good. Supper too. Would recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This hotel was absolutely OUTSTANDING!!! The hotel is lovely, as was the room and pool. The restaurant food was lovely. Particularly the beef lok lak.
But what really made this place was the staff.
Nat went above and beyond for our arrival. It was our honeymoon and she decorated the room with beautiful traditional lotus’ and lotus petals. As well as making by hand the most beautiful bouquet.
We were made to feel so so welcome. And all the staff were just so attentive.
The value for money was so incredible.
Would come back at the drop of a hat!
HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!!
- Sara (10/5): Good , nice hotel - Very good hotel. Nice, big rooms. Clean and amazing service! Staff are so helpful and kind. Nice pool with extra towels. Place are beautiful. It’s cost only 1.5-2 dollars take a crab Tuk Tuk to center. Peaceful where you can sleep without noises! Security during nights. Good breakfast, only juice was bad taste. Really can recommend this hotel! We stayed 5 nights!
- John (10/5): Wonderful hotel wonderful staff - Beautiful place close to everything super nice people. I have no complaints. I would defiantly come back here
- Yan (10/5): 性价比高; - 干净整洁,服务态度很好;性价比高;
- John (10/5): Stay there - An excellent place to stay along the river. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms and pool looked good.
- Ratlief (6/5): Security areas for tourism - Good to stay
- Ratlief (4/5): Good and secure areas - It ok to stay!
- Ty (4/5): It is ok to stay - It is ok but air conditioning no cool enough!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very friendly and helpful crew. Good Wifi all over the place.
The hotel was a bit dated, satellite TV was not always working.
- Ty (4/5): Hope next trips, choicest! - Good to stay’
- Maddy (10/5): Top class Siem Reap stay - River Bay Villa was superb and perfect for our 5 day stay in Siem Reap. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and available 24 hrs. Although Meng was new there he was always attentive and helpful and would find out for us what he didn't know. He went above and beyond by calling to check on slightly late pick ups and used pass app to call us a mini taxi. Nat was the manager and very helpful, knowledgeable and happy to stop and chat - interested in us and our understanding of things. We loved our room, bathroom and the swimming pool and the on site restaurant was also very good, even when the power was intermittent. We most appreciated, on the day we left, that even though we were already checked out, when we got back to the Villa from a long day trip, they were happy for us to use the swimming pool and still honoured the 20% discount in the restaurant. This accommodation isn't walking distance to town - $2 by tuktuk, a bit less with pass app, and a bit more when returning late at night. (Shoulder season prices). Overall top marks. Nat also arranged our Angkor Wat tour guide and transport. Heam was excellent. Friendly, knowledgable and interested to talk about more than just the incredible history we were seeing over 2 days. Our driver Mr Lim was also very good and we enjoyed the company of his son Ponpey? Who kept us well supplied with water. Thank you River Bay Villa!
- Gina (10/5): Have the egg Benedict, tasty - A little out of town, but worth the effort.
Staff were v helpful, WiFi good, room was amazing, lovely pool and restaurant.
When I return to Seim reap, would definitely stay here again
Have the Egg Benedict for breakfast, was delicious.
- Nathan (10/5): Great Value Hotel - I was pleased with my stay at the River Bay Villa. They offered airport pick up which I liked. The hotel is about a 25 minute walk or a $3-$5 tuk tuk ride to the Old Market, Night Market, and Pub Street. The hotel is located right on the river so for navigational purposes all you need to do is find the river and you are good to go. There isn't a ton around the hotel in regards to entertainment but like I mentioned you are not that far from the action. The wifi was good, the shower was hot, and the bed was comfortable. For me that is all I ask for. Would stay again if returning to Siem Reap.
- tin (10/5): Good - Every thing was good.
- Hollie (10/5): Excellent value - I wanted to stay in a quiet area but close to the night life and this was perfect. Clean rooms (a little tired but excellent value) friendly and helpful staff. Easy to get a Grab or PassApp (tuk tuk) everywhere. Nice pool. Located close to Angkor Wat.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice villas will come back. Good restoran nice service klean and confortble. Clouse to centr.
- Ma. Victoria (10/5): Highly recommended - The place is nice, neat and they have friendly staff there. Also, it is quiet and has a relaxing ambiance which made our stay much more enjoyable. Other than that, the location was near the heart of the city which made Siem reap easier to navigate.
- Nii-Narh (8/5): Great place, would stay there again. - Place is very good, no problems with the place at all, the power kept going out but their generator kicked in quickly. It was Khmer New Year so once again, not the hotel's issue. We stayed in the family room which is two separate rooms across the hallway from each other. Bathrooms were good, whole place was very clean, great pool, good food, super friendly staff. Maid cleaned the room everyday, run like a professional establishment.
- samuel (10/5): River Bay Villa with POOL - After a day walking round the temples what could be better than sinking into a nice cool swimming pool. Go for a meal in downtown Seam Reap or check out The Silk Farm. Then home to soak away the heat.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really great staff, super helpful and the hotel is beautiful.
- Yongqing (10/5): Highly recommend. - We stayed at River Bay Villa for four nights with deep discounted price for the low season. We are very satisfied with the hotel and their professional services. The location is not close to downtown SR, but has several local restaurants nearby. Very clean and quiet, nicely decorated. The shower is not separated from the toilet, but has a nice shower head. Free breakfast is not a buffet but from a menu and is prepared by the hotel restaurant. I wish I got more fresh fruit. Hotel manager Chan spoke fluent English and is very helpful, so are all the staff members, all acting with courteous. If you wand to ride bike/ scooter to the temples, this location is certainly closer than the hotels in downtown.
- Maud (10/5): - Special thanks to the lady at the welcoming desk who was so nice and helpful with us.
- Mary Alexis (8/5): - Very accomodating and friendly staff. They exerted effort to please us. 🙂
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a good hotel.
- Benjamin (10/5): Excellent - Very friendly welcome which was a general theme throughout our stay. The staff are always smiling, very friendly and genuinely lovely.
Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. The pool is really nice and spotless. During the evening there is lots of wildlife around which is a great site as there isn’t much around Cambodia!
The hotel is a short tuk tuk ride from the centre so it’s nice and quiet but you can be in the action within 4 minutes.
Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to all kinds of travellers.
- Tanya (8/5): Great value for money - Overall it was a nice stay. I stayed at this property twice. A few days were spent on my own and then I was joined by my partner. The hotel has all you need. Friendly staff, nice sized rooms and it is a bit on the quieter side given its location outside of the main haunts in Siem Reap. I considered this a plus as I wanted to relax in my down time and could easily grab a tuk tuk if I wanted to venture into the action. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
- Ruci (10/5): My Sweet Cambodian Retreat - I arrived very late at night from Ho Chi Minh feeling under the weather, l was immediately welcomed by Nat, who served me with a generous brew of lime tea. I was immediately revitalised, grateful for my room and my four post bed. I was travelling alone and the best decision I made was to stay at River Bay Villa and dine at the fabulous adjoining Lava Restaurant. I romanticised every moment of my time in Siem Reap, l left without a small piece of my my heart.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great stay. We were contacted by the hotel about airport pick up and when we replied via emailing them directly they responded very quickly, but the response went to my spam box so check your spam when communicating. When we arrived at the airport we were greeted by a friendly tuk tuk driver. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by friendly staff. They provided us with wet towelettes and a small drink, and then told us about possible tours we could book through them, which meant just hiring a tuk tuk driver for the day. We ended up taking up their offer and hired a tuk tuk be for our trip the next day, which ended up being the best way for us to tour angkor wat and neighboring temples (paid driver directly after the day ended, driver also prepared cold water for us throughout the day). Great time! Tuk tuk driver didn't speak any English. The hotel room itself was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and the shower/bathroom is similar to other Asian countries where the toilet and shower are in the same room with no separation (some was outside of that), but the shower dried quickly so we had no problems with that. By the way, some hotel staffs' English are better than others so make sure you are understood correctly, all were very nice and did their best to help. We had a great time!
- Ingrid (10/5): A very comfortable home away from home - Excellent hotel away from the hustle and noise of central Siem Reap, and a great base from which to explore the famous Angkor Wat temples. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights stay. All staff were very friendly, and Net (the manager) was extremely helpful and promptly sorted any issues we had. River Bay Villa is very lucky to have someone of her quality working there. The a la carte breakfast was very nice and sufficient, and the onsite restaurant provided a good range of tasty dishes. The swimming pool is very inviting and refreshing at the end of a hot day! We would have loved to stay longer.
- paul (8/5): solo traveler - in overall if you are looking for budget friendly hotel to stay this is superb. accomodating staff, spacious and very clean rooms, good ambience and relaxing. not too far from city center and quiet during night time.
- Portia (10/5): Best stay I've had in months! - I've been traveling SE Asia for the past three months and this is The Best hotel I've stayed! The staff is beyond welcoming, friendly, attentive and just wonderful.
Used their airport transfer and temple tuk tuk services which were a breeze
Their food and lychee martinis are delicious
The wifi is strong and steady
Room was incredibly clean
Pool was perfect
The shower pressure is amazing and the hot water was consistent
It was a wonderful stay and I wish I could've stayed longer
Absolutely book this hotel!
- Annabelle (10/5): Lovely little hotel - Lovely, helpful and friendly staff, good shower and nice food served in all 3 meals. Can’t complain at all :)
- Man Hei (10/5): Intensive staff - Staff is helpful and warm welcoming, they are very inventive. The room is exactly as photo on website, good facilities with so many power charge around in the room, amazing with local and oversea power charge. The swimming pool is a bonus! The restaurant is next door very handy if you are lazy to go out.
- JAVIER (10/5): BEAUTIFUL PLACE - Amazing in everyway
- Verified traveler (8/5): Exceptional customer service - Staff were very friendly, helpful and accomodating. Net speaks awesome English!
- Genaro (10/5): A hidden gem, - This hotel is a wonderful find! The value and staff are the best. We paid $50/night for a two bedroom family suite with 2 king beds, including free airport pick up and breakfast. I doubt you can find the same in Siem Reap. The beds were comfortable, there was a nice pool and the WiFi was great. The staff weee excellent and knowledgeable about the area. Loved their free bicycles as well— used them to ride to Angkor Wat one morning to see the sunrise. Amazing. Highly recommend.
The food was lacking but the ice cream and smoothies were wonderful treats.
Appreciated that the location was quiet and this wasn’t some huge resort.
- Lexa (6/5): Poor service for an expensive price - Nice hotel with a pool and clean rooms. The service was pretty poor though and the services/restaurant were very expensive. When we arrived, we were greeted by a man who had just started working there that same day. This man was manning the front desk nearly the whole time we stayed there and had no other coworker/manager with him. This made it really difficult to get service as we would ask him about a service and he would say he didn't know or that the service didn't exist, even though it did. Also, take your laundry literally right next door for half the price - we didn't notice until after the fact and I am convinced the hotel just takes the laundry over there, taking a cut. The wifi didn't work for half of the time we stayed there which was frustrating. I would recommend staying somewhere else closer to the town and night market.
- Emma (8/5): Lovey stay - Friendly staff, very lovely pool, reasonable room. Although our room was in a convenient spot, I wasn't comfortable to have the curtains open as we were on the ground level next to the pool so it was a bit dark. Different rooms would of course avoid this issue. The shower filled the whole bathroom floor with water which wasn't ideal but didn't concern us too much.
Overall, River Bay Villa was a good base for our Siem Reap adventures and we enjoyed our stay.
- WAI YAN (10/5): Excellence service and food, perfect location - The villa is close to Angkor Wat with excellent food. Perfect for tourists
- Sanjay (10/5): Quiet and Very Green Hotel - Nice, quiet location. Very welcoming and ever-helpful staff. The location is bit closer to Angkor Vat and Angkor Thom monuments, so you can reach there quickly. Breakfast was just about adequate for a vegetarian.
- Emily (10/5): Wonderful staff in quiet, convenient location - This is a great place. Beautiful location on the river - not much traffic, but convenient to Angkor and town. Courtyard, pool and restaurant are beautiful. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Staff is amazing - so friendly and helpful. They have drivers on call to take you to Angkor or around town. They will even provide a cooler full of water for your day of sightseeing. Would definitely stay here again!!
- Daniel (8/5): Near perfect stay - Very nice stay overall...the neighbourhood is a bit dodgy and you're sort of at the end of the line along the river, the road there is very rutted and bumpy...at night a bit dark and scary but still reasonably safe. The rooms are superb value for money except the shower (which is actually very nice) has no barrier on the floor to contain the water, so it spills out all over the bathroom floor, I had to roll up one of the robes as a kind of makeshift sandbag to hold back the overflow. Easy & inexpensive solution to fix, not sure why they haven't thought of this. But staff are superb!
- Row (6/5): It was ok - A little bit out of the way. Not great facilities but clean. Some staff tried really hard. Breakfast was not of a good standard.
- Verified traveler (10/5): friendly staff, good atmosphere - hot stone restaurant is the best restaurant we have in siem reap!
- Sergey (8/5): nice quiet people and place - +
Good location, very kind staff, free bicycles, free pick-up, tasty breakfast, quiet place
-
problems with water supply, small room, view to unmanaged land.
- Diyana (10/5): Great! - We are 2 female travellers, stayed in for 4 days. The location is near to Angkor Wat and you can cycle to the town for about 15 minutes. They provide bicycle rent, which was GREAT. We cycled around town for 2 days. It was FUN! The view was amazing. River bay is located in front of the Siem Reap river. The people and services they provide in riverbay were awesome. They helped us a lot. Everytime we came back from our day activities, they will greet us at the front door with cold towels without fail. It's very welcoming. The most memorable staffs were Den and Net. They spoke good english and were very helpful throughout our stay. The room was very comfortable and clean. It's big for the 2 of us. Everything about the room was more than we expect. They have hot showers, kettle, satelite TV, swimming pool, in-room massage. They have a securtiy guard at night that make it safer. The front desk will call up your room first to confrim before they allow any stranger to see you. That make us feel safe. They have a clean relax area with music and huge bean bags. it's very nice. The breakfast buffet were simple but delicious and filling enough and we love it because we're muslim and they serve vegetarian food with meat/bacon seperated.
Overall, we will definitely come here again if we were to visit Siem Reap
Thank you so much!!
