- 328chucka (8/5): A romantic place for a getaway - My wife saw an article about Mirbeau in the Boston Globe, and so I booked a getaway weekend for us to celebrate her birthday. Here is my review: Positives= There are a lot of positives. For one, the place looks like a manor house in the French countryside with Monet prints everywhere, a pretty Monet bridge, and a helpful staff. Your room comes with 2 reusable metal water bottles, slippers, a robe, a gas fireplace (very important on a cold, snowy weekend!), a lavazza coffee machine, a soaking tub, and a very comfortable bed. We loved sitting in the two comfy spinning chairs by the fireplace. The shower products (and indeed, the shower) were great. The location is really nice with some restaurants (Mamma Mias, Blueberry Muffin) in walking distance. There is a lovely room off the lobby with two fireplaces where we enjoyed reading. And, of course, it's a spa. My wife got a facial with Jeanne which was excellent. There is a workout room which is small, but good. You also have a yoga studio, a steam room (although it's gender-segregated, so you can't steam with your wife), a relaxation room, a room for exercise classes, and a very nice outside hot tub. Negatives= The biggest negative is that no one really explained any of the amenities to us. We checked in and they printed out my wife's facial appointment, but that was it. There was no handout or even just an explanation of what was on site, and where it was. For example, to access the relaxation room and the outside hot tub, you have to go through the men or women's locker room, and exit a non-descript door with no sign indicating where it goes. We were doing recon, so each of us went out our locker room's door, and found one another, and all sorts of amenities. We explored to find out what was available, but I really feel like the hotel should do a better job of pointing out what's there and how to find it. Other than that, our other issues were really minor: they don't have tea in the lobby or in the room (coffee only). The only place that has tea is the relaxation room. Our room key deactivitated twice in our brief stay. And we were surprised that the room didn't have a minifridge in it. Luckily, it was cold enough to put our leftovers in our car, but it a fridge would have helped for sure. Overall, this is a very romantic place for a getaway. It's expensive, but worth the splurge. Recommended.
- N897DBjasonc (10/5): Serenity now - We had an amazing weekend at Mirabeau - we gifted the trip as our Christmas present to each other and it may need to become a tradition. The vibe is all about comfort and relaxation, and carries through all aspects of the resort from the cozy fireplace in room to the serenity of the spa. Highly recommended for a couples weekend away, worth every penny. Book your spa services well in advance, demand is high!
- F7231KRcynthial (10/5): Spa front desk and locker room staff are special - As a member who visits Mirbeau frequently, I can say that the staff make every visit special . The women’s locker room attendants Loretta, JoJo, Diane K., and Kelsey consistently go out of their way to be welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Even when they are short staffed there, these staff members are great. Also, the front desk people Brenda, Lynn, Kate, Tracey, Moira, Sandy L., and Cassidy are equally wonderful, always greeting guests with genuine warmth and kindness. I have also witnessed occasions when staff were treated rudely by guests, and they consistently remained calm, professional, and gracious. The friendliness by all of the above where I am generally greeted by name keeps me coming back.

Mirbeau Inn and Spa in Plymouth has been a wonderful and generous partner to our organization for several years. Every time we send someone to Mirbeau, the guests share glowing reports about the spa treatments, rooms, facilities and customer service. Here are a couple examples of the positive comments we have received from our recipients who spent time at Mirbeau: "Just wanted to let you know what a wonderful and relaxing time [we] had at Mirbeau. It was pure bliss! I’ve decided that I want to build a Quiet Room in my house. 😂 Thank you so much for your help and for suggesting this spa. I had no idea that I could totally walk around in a robe all day and night in front of strangers and not really care. 💗" “Thank you so much for arranging such a wonderful getaway. I truly felt like a princess. I had never been to ... Mirbeau Spa and they were so lovely there. From the moment we got there it was so magical. It was so nice to get time just with my husband. The spa was amazing. I had the best massage therapist, Jennifer! I could take her home with me. Just so kind, so knowledgeable, fate truly brought us together."
- Cafeconleche40 (8/5): Nice hotel with some management issues - There is much to like about this resort. The rooms are large and comfortable, with a soaking tub and gas fireplaces. The spa area is great, especially the relaxation room with the foot soaking pool and the greenhouse area for hanging out. I had a wonderful massage. We had a dinner and breakfast there. The food was good, but a resort this size should have more than one offering at every meal, or at least have an informal coffee shop. (They do sell sandwiches, wraps, and drinks at the spa.) There seem to be a number of issues with the management and front desk services, however. There were difficulties in making the reservation (the site was down, then the email system wasn’t working so no confirmation could be sent for a week). When checking out, they had not included the discounts in our package and seemed confused how to rectify it. In between, we noticed slow service, and almost everywhere we went in the hotel there was a new person training. I am not sure if there is a broader problem behind the scenes with management or personnel? Still, overall I would recommend this for a weekend away as a couple or a girls weekend.

Manicured scenery, elegant lush room with a huge soaking tub and gas fire place. The bed was so comfortable! The spa…woah. Just woah. Everywhere you go, everyone was friendly and helpful. Did I mention the hot tub the size of a pool? I saved up for this birthday weekend and I’m saving to go again! Worth Every Penny!! Oh and a special birthday wish from the dedicated staff!!!

The staff is so courteous, attentive without being intrusive, and the food is delicious! We sat on the porch on a gorgeous day and shared a complimentary dish of various fruits that was brought after we were seated. I ordered The Charlemagne—a special combination of Brie, prosciutto, and spinach, with the most scrumptious fingerling potatoes. We all enjoyed the food, the service, and our time together. Perfection first thing in the morning!
- 365leslyb (4/5): miscommunication about gift card usage. cold humiliating response from staff - I expected a luxury experience from Mirbeau Spa in Plymouth, but instead I left disappointed and embarrassed. I purchased a gift card on August 21st and was told by the reservation specialist that my guest could use it even before the physical card arrived, since the spa would be able to look up the 16-digit number. That reassurance turned out to be completely misleading. Despite receiving three emails about the shipment, none contained the card number, leaving me unable to use something I had already paid for. This created an awkward and frustrating experience in front of my guest. When I reached out for clarification, the response I got was dismissive and focused entirely on shipping policies I never questioned. Instead of acknowledging that their staff misinformed me, I was flatly told, “We do not refund gift cards.” For a spa that markets itself as a premier, luxury destination, the lack of accountability and customer care was disappointing. Hospitality should be about trust, clarity, and making guests feel cared for—not leaving them embarrassed after spending their money. Sadly, I cannot recommend Mirbeau Spa based on this experience.
- dianemX9282IN (2/5): Bad Customer Experience - Hello, I was booked as a guest of Mirbeau Plymouth in the Manor House Room 303 Sunday 8/17-8/19/2025 with multiple spa service appointments. On the morning of 8/18/2025 at approximately 1:45AM, the fire alarm sounded alerting guests to vacate the building. I proceeded accordingly with other guests outside. While the sprinklers were 'on', and the fire alarm continued to sound for over an hour, guests were standing outside and not provided any information on what was happening. I was quite shocked that there was no 'guest headcount' or 'room to room guest check' by the Inn or the FD. I understand the night manager had his hands full, however he or perhaps the General Manager should have been made available to the guests ensuring us everything was OK. General Manager Patty McPherson did not arrive until the AM, on what I was told was 'her day off'....which does not excite me, nor give me comfort. If the property she was responsible for during a 'crisis', as I was told by the staff in the AM, she should have come out in the middle of the night at the time the 'crisis' was happening and reassured her guests 'all was okay'. She (obviously) nor the night manager provided any reassurance as to what had happened and if our safety 'was or continued to be' in jeopardy. It was the FD who explained 'no fire, just a sprinkler system malfunction', while the night manager told those guests who were displaced to 'just go home!' I was extremely compromised that morning with Mirabeau's attention to its guests' safety. I questioned its procedure for this 'crisis', and was quite shocked when they/you sent us back to our rooms and had NO RUNNING WATER. I'm fairly certain this is a fire code violation of Massachusetts Law NFPA-1. While I reluctantly retreated to my room, I knew I would be chatting with the Director of GS, Jim Janusas in the morning. Unfortunately, the staff on board the morning of 8/18/2025 was of no help. They continued to be dismissive of my concerns, and seemed to only be concerned about the 'crisis'. The concern around this crisis was primarily about the impact to the Inn and subsequently the Spa being closed. Again, no concern about the safety of the guests. When I awoke from a rather stressful night sleep (or lack thereof), I had to go to the Spa at 8:00AM to see if I could sign up for a fitness class [another annoying feature for overnight paying guests [waiting to the 'day of' to sign up for a class], I learned the Spa was 'closed due to the flood.' I immediately went back up to the front desk and asked for assistance and received none. Was told I needed to 'work with the spa' for any issues. When I returned to the front desk repeatedly between the hours of 8 and 11AM, I continually asked to speak with Jim and was repeatedly told 'he was in a meeting'. I wanted to check out, cancel my stay for Monday (8/19/25 and scheduled spa appointments) and receive a no charge cancellation for my 8/18/2025 stay. Obviously, it should have been an immediate 'yes, we are so sorry for your inconvenience',,,yey, I had to fight for this credit. Eventually, I was compensated, but it left a really bad impression of true customer satisfaction. After reading reviews of all the other nuances that prior guests complained about, which are many, I would've appreciated better customer/guest satisfaction. Another way to handle this (and other guest complaints) would've been to satisfy me without having to write a negative review. Perhaps, offering a spa credit or free room night for my return. I honestly think if you want to be perceived as a 5 star resort, you should reconsider how you treat guests, especially during a 'crisis'. Best wishes to your future success, Mirbeau. Diane Mays
- susanhT7512CR (2/5): VERY DISAPPOINTED, Broken AC, awful management/customer service. AVOID!!!!! - The Mirbeau Plymouth fails miserably at the most basic function of a hotel- providing a good night of sleep. We went to Mirbeau seeking a restful spa retreat and relaxation to celebrate my birthday. Instead, we left exhausted and frustrated after losing two consecutive night’s sleep and receiving a wholly inadequate remedy from management. While the spa was lovely, any temporary relaxation we experienced was short lived and more than offset by the malfunctioning air conditioning system in our room (room #225) that woke us up each night at approximately 1 am and left us sweltering for the remainder of the night. As the temperature rose we noticed that we no longer heard the air conditioner running at all. After the first night of no sleep, we assumed there had been an overnight power outage or something similar as the air conditioning was running again by around 6 am. We resumed our planned schedule (spa treatments and dining reservations) before retiring to the room the second evening, at which time the air conditioning seemed to be running and the temperature was comfortable. To our dismay, the unit again seemingly shut down all together around 1 am and did not turn back on again until early the next morning. We then promptly proceeded to the front desk to inform them of the aforementioned happenings, seeking an appropriate remedy for the now two sleepless nights. To our dismay, our complaints were summarily dismissed and we were told that we should have called DURING the night (as opposed to first thing in the am). (We had assumed the first instance was due to an unfortunate glitch or power failure, not a systemic issue with faulty hvac at the hotel.) After insisting the manager be apprised of the situation, the front desk clerk stepped away for a few minutes. She then let us know that the best solution the hotel would be willing to offer is a $150 credit (for a $600/night room!) We said that was not satisfactory and requested at least one night of lodging be credited. After spending over $3,400 in two days with Mirabeau (between lodging, treatments and dining), I was flabbergasted and insulted at their failure to simply credit one room charge for the sleepless nights caused by their faulty hvac. To boot, the purported “manager” (James Janusas) failed to even come out and speak with us, nor apologize, despite our insistence that something further be done. After returning home (Boston area) and sharing our experience with several local friends and reading many other reviews of Mirbeau, we learned that this has been a known, recurring issue with this property for some time. We tried Mirabeau hoping to find our new favorite local spa retreat. Unfortunately, instead, we left exhausted, sorely disappointed, and offended. Since management was not interested in hearing us out, nor adequately resolving these issues, we will continue to share our story and warn friends, colleagues, family members and associates to AVOID Mirabeau at all costs!!!

The check in clerk seemed rather unfriendly and lacked the warmth and friendliness we are accustomed to experiencing at Mirbeau in Skaneateles, and honestly at most hotels we routinely stay at. What made the stay worse was probably something that was beyond the properties’ control, but yet has left us with a very poor and disturbing memory of this place. We were next to a room where we clearly heard a male physical abusing a female and we and our kids were exposed to her screams and pleas which kept us up in a very disturbed state much of the night. We did call the front desk and the staffer handled the situation in the best way she could. Nevertheless, it has been a terribly disconcerting experience.

- stevenbX8064FQ (10/5): Mirbeau is the best! - My wife and I have gone to Mirbeau many times now and each time we are amazed at how wonderful it is. This time seemed better that ever, but that is usually the case! The hotel is beautiful, the decor is top notch, almost like going into a museum. The rooms are lush and luxurious, with great amenities. The bed is ultra comfortable. Everything about the room feels top notch. And regarding cleanliness-it is spotless throughout the entire hotel. The staff is great. Front desk folks are dressed like grown ups and are quite professional-Stephen is fantastic. There is plenty of staff and everyone is helpful, courteous and friendly. The food at the restaurant is amazing. I had the Sole Meuniere, the best best fish dish I have ever had. The amenities are also unbelievable. The grounds and gardens are visual wonders. The spa is amazing, the best 'quiet room' anywhere. My wife got a spa treatment, a little pricey, but she loved it. And the general little community of that part of Pine Hills is always fun to explore. I cant think of anything not great to say about Mirbeau. It is a little expensive but we have stayed in places that are just as expensive but are far less luxurious.

I did not have time to take advantage of the spa on this trip but did check it out. The spa and work out area was very clean and well maintained. I would definitely build in time on my next trip to the area to take advantage of the spa. The staff were very professional and helpful. The reason that I did not give this hotel a 5 was I had issues with my TV, they did comp my breakfast but the next night same issue. Front desk told me that it was the internet, they are not located in a remote area, so I did not think that was a good reason. The other reason for the 4 was breakfast must be included with a spa day, I just would have appreciated if the women in bathrobes had an area to eat other than with the other guests at the hotel, it was a little off-putting to me.
- douglaspH6393FX (10/5): Mirbeau Spa - Checked in stressed, checked out floating. Mirbeau Spa delivered a near-perfect escape from the chaos of everyday life. The staff were warm, attentive, and just the right amount of chatty. From check-in to check out, everything felt personal but not pushy. The steam room melted away a year of tension, and whispered sweet nothings to my aching joints. The hot tub? Basically a warm hug with jets. The walk in the forest treatment and the facial was thorough enough to qualify as a structural renovation. My therapist clearly had a black belt in relaxation. Bonus: no whale music—just calm, tasteful background ambiance. The Bistro served meals that somehow didn’t taste like regret. The pear martini was suspiciously delicious. The room was clean, quiet, and filled with fluffy robes. Bed so comfy I considered “accidentally” overstaying. Sitting on the patio and listening to the wildlife was perfect. My minor gripe was that the Wi-Fi was spotty, but maybe that was the universe’s way of saying “relax harder.” Bottom line, I Would return in a heartbeat—ideally right after my next stressful week. Mirbeau Spa reminded me what actual peace feels like. Highly recommended for anyone needing a full-system reboot.

We arrived a little early so decided to take advantage of the Spa for relaxation and some time in the outdoor hot tub. The area has a bar so we enjoyed a beverage while we relaxed and then headed to the solarium for some quiet conversation. We were greeted in our room with wine and a cheese platter which we enjoyed while we watched the Super Bowl. We ventured off property for a short hike before 2 fantastic massages, more time in the hot tub and a wonderful dinner in the Bistro - great food, great service. Thank you for an exceptional experience start to finish!

- Departure779618 (10/5): Great Mini-Moon at the Mirbeau - We had the best time on our mini-moon at the Mirbeau! The rooms are extremely beautiful and comfortable. We loved our meals; both the quality of the food and service was high. Our day at the spa was relaxing, although I will note that it was very crowded on the long weekend right after valentine's day. We would love to go back during a weekday perhaps for a bit more availability in the spa areas. We had the Art of Love couples massage which was a great treatment and experience. Highly recommend the Mirbeau and we can't wait to come back.

There are other locations so we look forward to trying those too, but the one in Plymouth was gorgeous! The property is stunning. The spa is also beautiful and amazing. The treatments are also amazing. There is a hot tub on premises along with an eatery. We walked the beautiful property that reminds and feels like you are in France. It was quite the experience. I hope to be able to go to this spa location again one day. Thanks for an outstanding experience.

Service, food, etc were all wonderful as always. I have always enjoyed any treatment I have gotten in the past but I had the best treatment of all our trips last night - the masseuse Meghan Scowcroft was amazing! Highly recommend!
- klesica (10/5): Complete Relaxation - There was no detail left unturned by Mirabeau for this amazing 24 hour complete relaxation celebration. My girlfriend and I were both celebrating our 75th birthdays and were treated so well. Age is not a problem at Mirabeau. This was our very first spa experience and nothing was disappointing. From the Monet art work throughout the entire resort to the beautiful soft bathrobes that we wore all day except to dinner, to the relaxation rooms it was a sensation for all the senses. The food was impeccable, the mood light and fun but still quiet and soothing and everyone even the other guests were very friendly. Definitely do not plan your event with time restrictions so you can enjoy the Italian stone Relaxation Room with comfortable beds, foot water pool, teas and fruit. Then onto the outside relaxation area with the hot tub, outside patio that serves cocktails and wine, then into the Atrium (our favorite). Bring a book, or other quiet activity to extend your relaxation time.

- katherinecJ682II (10/5): Wonderful Cozy Retreat - We loved our stay at Mirabeau. The service was above and beyond. Phil the concierge was so helpful and friendly with our bags to start. The restaurant staff remembered us after day one and greeted us like old friends. The spa staff were also very friendly and helpful. I loved the delux hydrafacial and my friend loved her maternity massage. The rooms are really cozy with individual fireplaces and comfy beds. We both slept incredibly. We spent most of our time in the quiet zen reading room or in the outdoor hot tub. For food, lunch was our favorite meal. We had the French onion soup and focaccia bread with spreads three days in a row. SO GOOD. Our second favorite meal was breakfast. Everything on the lighter fare menu was really good. They really lean into the French lifestyle so prepare to wait a bit for your drinks and food. My only very small complaint was that it was so hard to get water refilled. At dinner, it took us 15-20 minutes to get our drinks. I loved the slow, French lifestyle but water and drinks should be a bit quicker! The second night, we went off property and ate at the Rye Tavern nearby which was delicious. All in all, a fantastic stay and we will definitely back.

We all enjoyed the spa services (facials and 100 min massages) as well as the amenities (soaker tub, whirlpool, relaxation rooms, gym). The rooms are very luxurious and staff attentive. Lunch was delicious at the onsite restaurant. We wrapped up our time with a nice walk around the property including the village and golf course.

I the professionalism of the group was an example of how hospitality should work. Check-in and out was seamless. Verbiage used by staff was specific and I could tell they’ve been professionally trained to support their role in the organization. I never heard “No” or “unfortunately” instead the team created solutions to my inquiry and issue. Finally, the grounds are clean, beautiful and classic.

The quiet room is calming but there are other people in there…and some whisper but you can still hear. The steam room was the best. I had a facial and then lunch. The facial was nothing special. The lunch was set in an open area. I was disappointed that it wasn’t cozier. Overall I would go there again for the ambiance.

Everything was on time and the lobby was clean and water, tea and towel everywhere you can reach….first time there ! Outside was very beautiful but too bad we didn’t bring our swimming suit and already want to book for my birthday to pamper ourselves! In between we went up to the Bistro to have food and it tasted very yummy finished the whole plate and the coffee and cucumber water taste good.

The spa blamed upstairs and the woman at the front desk blamed the spa. She just shrugged her shoulders as to say oh well. I spoke with the manager and although she understood and apologized she offered nothing else. Very disappointed since I’ve been 3 times this fall I thought I knew that this was a high class spa. Underwhelming to say the least.

- susan (10/5): - I have been to the Mirbeau multiple times and this was the first time I had a massage. It was amazing! I highly recommend Xan. Afterwards, I enjoyed a chicken salad wrap with a delicious cocktail by Nancy in the pool area. Nancy was great and although the pool area was full, Nancy let me use a pool chaise in front of a reserved cabana because the people were not scheduled to be there for another hour instead of letting me stand around. I also listened to her service other guests and make calls and reservations for them instead of just saying the restaurant area was full upstairs. She went above and beyond with a lovely attitude. The rooms may need to be updated in the next few years but the spa, grounds and the service was outstanding. I look forward to my next visit.

I asked for early check in but they really try hard to honor request. Once we got in TV and controller were not working so tech people took another hour of our very short stay in our room and didn’t fix. We requested to move to another so we list more time from our stay-not happy about this. I loved this spa but your staff needs more training I both social skills, manners and need a little initiative to try and make stay better. They seemed bothered by requests.anll we heard anbout was they were so busy with two weddings/not our problem annd should never affect service to other guests Everything else was excellent.They could use refrigerators in rooms.
