Guest Reviews
- 265kailaf (2/5): Dont waste your money - Terrible. Rude management. Nightmare check in. First in a room that was under construction then offered two separate rooms but couldn’t offer any discount. The manager is a total jerk. Yuck. Just save yourself and go somewhere else
- C2864BAkarad (2/5): Very rude management and customer service - I wish I could give the customer service a negative review as 1 star feels generous. We were in town for a basketball tournament which this hotel invited people from the tournament to stay here and offered a discounted rate. Upon arrival we went to check in my son told me he wanted to go to the pool, and the lady at the front desk was a little too excited to tell him it was closed. Then the manager pretty much chewed me out saying that it was closed because there were too many kids in there and they weren't following the rules. I tried to explain that we were there to check in and haven't been to the pool but he and the lady at the front desk were very rude to me and my two children about it. I was very disappointed as the pool was the reason we chose to stay here. I understand that managing large groups can be problematic but don't invite teams to stay here if you don't want large groups of children at your hotel. Mostly very put off by how wildly unprofessional the manager was and rudely the front desk lady spoke to me and my children.
I was then charged an additional 20 dollars over the rate they promised and she refused to explain the difference. She just said that "she pushed all the right buttons on her end" with no reasonable explanation.
Too bad for the beautiful town of Libby because I know this hotel is doing nothing to extend a welcome to visitors. .
- brianhR8816RZ (2/5): Please read reviews before staying here. - I had a very disappointing experience overall. The front desk staff at check-in were courteous and professional; unfortunately, that was the only positive part of our stay. Both the room and the hallways had a strong, aerosol-like odor that was unpleasant and caused headaches. Additionally, several items in the room were not properly maintained. The cabinet enclosing the mini fridge would not stay closed without being lifted, and the drawer located between the beds did not open or close correctly.
During our stay, two additional people joined us at the pool, which we later learned was against hotel policy. While we acknowledge this rule, the situation was handled extremely poorly. The general manager approached us yelling, including yelling at children, and behaved in a highly unprofessional and inappropriate manner. This conduct was unacceptable.
I make a point to support small, locally owned businesses in our community; however, based on this experience, I would not recommend this hotel to others.
- Lily (10/5): - Loved the spa! Also the friendly front desk gentleman with the dog.
- Lisa (4/5): - The door that went outside by our room was not locked and had to be opened by the handicapped button. It was load and could hear the ice machine and other doors closing when in the room. We were charged $50.00 for room damage, when I called the person that answered the phone didn’t know what it was for. When she called back she said it was for a pillow that we damaged, I told her that we didn’t damage a pillow and the quality of the pillows did not reflect the $50.00 charge. I asked for a copy of the receipt for the pillow, we will see if we receive it!!🙁
- Lyla (8/5): - Stay was fine. Older...hotel. was clean ..
- Joyce (2/5): Not worth the money and not as advertised - The beds re 4feet high, bottom mattress was horribly dirty. Really cold in hallways, i would say to cover up rug smell. Restaurant was closed Monday and Tuesday two days we were there. No coffee pot on room likes says. No way to book room with pet so they moved us and it cost me more for the room and also 30.00 for dog. Would I recommend, NO, would i stay again NO.
- Kathleen (10/5): - Pool and hot tub are great, front desk very helpful, manager resolved a third party booking company issue quickly, rooms that have upgraded laminate flooring nicer than carpeted ones, bathrooms need upgraded, but everything clean.
- Dollie (4/5): - The restaurant wasn't open and I couldn't get WiFi and none of the staff knew how to fix it and I was on a work trip so it caused a lot of issues for me.
- john (6/5): - expensive. dated
- William (4/5): - You’ll be fine unless the morning clerk’s dog barks and wakes you up. Happened several times on two mornings. Why only coffee in the morning. Even toast would have been appreciated. A bowl of fruit would help. Muffins, yogurt, cold cereal. All inexpensive to dhow customer appreciation
- Matthew (10/5): Nice stay - Nice spot to stay. Staff was accommodating and friendly. The rooms were clean.
- Thomas (10/5): - Front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. Breakfast at the on-site restaurant was excellent, very delicious! Front desk clerk also provided excellent recommendation regarding dinner options, as well as informing us about the “Clash of the Carvers” event, which we visited. We highly recommend utilizing this establishment if staying in Libby. Libby was a very nice town to visit as well. Folks are friendly and easy going. We’ll be back!!
- H773EXlindah (2/5): Bait and Switch - It was so disappointing, the only clean and remodeled up to date area of the hotel is the lobby with beautiful wood carvings... Everything is run down and very filthy, absolute neglect of proper cleaning and maintenance. Doors didn't work properly and we had one actual cut key for the room. A key..
Not a card . Things were wiped off and the sheets were clean but it was awful. Dirty windows dirty carpet and dark clothing doors and walls from people touching them over the years. I am not upset about it anymore..I just want people to know..
It's insane to pay $190 a night for that s*** show. I went to the local dollar store and bought a bunch of cheapo cleaning supplies and spent hours cleaning it up so we could feel like we could relax and use the place...we unfortunately had to stay two nights. Also no coffee pot in room... Ice machine broken.. Restaurant is only open when they feel like being open. The ads for this place are lies . No towels down at the pool. The pool was ok to the naked eye. Thank God for chlorine . I don't know how they stay in business . I can't believe people keep staying there...they must have high tolerance for filth.. High rates for a dirt bag old run down room. It's only worth $100/night ... I'm not upset ..I am just shocked at how gross the world can be.
- Patricia (8/5): Good Place to Stay - Will Come Back - Awesome lobby area. Sorry we could not try the restaurant as the hours were limited. Beds were comfortable.
- Stephanie (6/5): - rooms are not updated, feels dirty
- Terry (6/5): - Very noisy room and dated room
- Dolores (6/5): Venture Inn Review - The front of the Inn and the lobby area is very nice. However, once you get through the lobby, the interior is very bland. Concrete block walls, narrow passageways, very military barracks looking. The rooms are very small, sparsely furnished and DARK. Limited tv channels and the internet connection is TERRIBLE. Constantly losing a connection. Our room was on the first floor with a parking area outside our window. It seemed like long term guests would congregate in this area and talk well late into the night.
However, the front desk and housekeeping staff were 5 stars. The restaurant is not open as advertised and we were only able to get breakfast (Wednesday) one day during our stay. The restaurant was very nice and food was very good.
- Patricia (10/5): Recommend - I want to start by saying I rate places based on the expectations of the area and not compared to other places I have stayed. This is a rural mountain town, so don't expect glitz and gold. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. The decor is very 70's, but it reminded me of growing up, and the fact that it lasted this long only further emphasizes how well the staff takes care of the facility. The biggest down side we had was other guests smoking outside our window, which is not in the control of the facility and staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good quiet hotel. Price was high for a Sunday/Monday and would have been nice to know restaurant is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Coffee was good. Beds were meh...ok but not great. Loved all the pillows though and comfy recliner in room.
- Beth (8/5): - While the lobby is clean and updated with some cool wood carvings, the rest of the hotel is in need of updating. The elevator is a little questionable, there is a sign that the doors sometimes don't open and there is no inspection certificate. The rooms are very dated, the toilet in our room ran all night long. I would not use the pool or hot tub, they looked in need of a good cleaning.
- Anthony (6/5): - Restaurant was closed, place was what I expected for the area. Bed was very hard to sleep in very uncomfortable. Location was good right in the middle of town.
- Vicki (4/5): - Overpriced for condition and cleanliness of property. Dirty carpet, musty, moldy smell and toilet seat was not even attached to toilet. Very noisy! Moved to a different hotel after 1 night.
- Kathryn (10/5): Nice stay - Quiet great breakfast restaurant. Great shower. Lots of hot water. Not many TV channels and could not get closed captions.
- Kelle (7/5): Good -
- Kelle (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Dwayne (6/5): - No hot water
- Travis (6/5): - Older inn, but relatively clean. Giving it a clean rating because it didn’t smell.
- Shelli (7/5): Good - We were only staying for one night. The rooms are dated but clean. The beds were not the most comfortable, but served a purpose.
- Harry (8/5): - Room was clean, staff helpful, restraunt was good
- Keith (8/5): - Everything was ok , except for the room’s carpeting. It was dirty or stained. Check in was easy. We used the restaurant for breakfast. It to was also good.
- Thomas (8/5): It worked for us. - Location. Restaurant. Staff. Cost. Noise from road and lot.
- 650wyatte (6/5): Not the same quality - My wife and I have stayed there several times before. It was ok for what it was...nothing fancy and overpriced. It IS better than the other one across the street. This time however we noticed the overall quality had dropped. The staff at the front desk were great, we love the cookies, and the lobby continues to be the nicest part of the premises. The rooms seem to have dropped in quality, and I don't think even the 70s would want the decor back. No coffee maker but after asking, the staff brought us one. Room security is a cheap deadbolt and an old school weak chain lock. The internet is usually ok but this time it was horrible. It kept kicking us off every two minutes or so. Very annoying.
The restaurant food was as good as ever. Our two favorite long-time waitresses were no longer there, and we were told that the hotel owner had passed away and his son took over and was changing things, so they decided to quit. Not a good sign. We saw the owner's son running around the place with a baby in his arms. He should probably focus on his baby and leave the hotel and restaurant business to someone who knows what they are doing.
- Yash (8/5): - property is well maintained, but it could use some renovation in the facilities. The room was well and clean. The elevators seem a little bit old and some machinery was out of order. For example, washing machine.
- Sondra (10/5): - The rooms were old, but very clean, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Would stay there again!
- lory (4/5): - No USB ports for charging devices and only 3 available plugins on a power strip 2 of which were very loose and barely held a plug. Switch on bedside lamps very loose & one side quit working. Desk clerk was rude when I asked for an extra bath towel.
- Mary (6/5): Three stars is being generous. - Don't count on having wi-fi or television in your room. We were there for a funeral, so we had lots of down time. The outside door doesn't lock so it is necessary to keep your room triple locked and leave no valuable while away. The restaurant was overpriced, and our bacon was obviously from the day before. The hotel staff was as friendly as could be. They were the only thing this hotel had going for it. (Not the restaurant staff, just the hotel staff.)
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - The people the management staff everyone was kind and amazing
- Pring (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (6/5): - Lovely staff and restaurant. The lobby is beautiful with the wood sculptures. The rooms and pool area need to be updated. I didnt get a feeling of clean in my room. Our room was next to the road which had loud vehicles outside our window.
- Robyn (10/5): - It’s good. Clean.
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant - The pool was the only reason we booked this motel. We made reservations, but our rooms were switched without notice. For a large family with lots of little kids to be on two separate floors, it was chaotic and complicating for us to juggle between rooms instead of being at least on the same floor, like was promised to us. For the high rates charged, it's ridiculous that there is no breakfast included in the price. The facilities are old and in need of many repairs, the phone to the lobby didn't work, one of our fridges didn't work, and the microwave didn't work, which they promptly replaced. We also overheard another guest complaining about being displaced from their three rooms after making reservations. The staff were kind, very helpful and friendly to us, however. We didn't complain, but would like to see them be fair and honest in the future.
- Joan (10/5): - Venture Inn is a cozy, welcoming, basic place to stay in Libby. So friendly, great breakfast in the restaurant and great dinner recommendation for the restaurant across the parking lot. Definitely recommend if you are visiting this beautiful part of Montana.
- Robin (4/5): - asked for a room that was away from hwy 2 because of the road noise.I wanted the back of the motel I got the side road where it meets the hwy. So noisy I checked out a few hours after check in. There is no coffee service in rooms, tv picture is fuzzy and hard to view the limited channels available, floor did not looked vacuumed very dated look to room for the price paid.
- Jay (10/5): - Really enjoyed our stay. Staff was very polite, room was clean and parking was easy.
- ERICA (6/5): - The
- Teresa (5/5): There for 3 nights great market next door and a bit high with no breakfast included and room felt dated and yet beds com - Good location, refridge spa pool and nice people Room had an odor and felt a bit rundown the room
- Lydia (8/5): Very good - Very quite. Everyone was really pleasant. Really nice to have the park near us. Wasn't told about services that are provided. Beds sit to high and it was really hard for me to get in it.
- Lydia (8/5): Very good -
- Todd (2/5): - Broken tv, loud, and rock hard bed that was not a memory foam like i reserved.
- Stephanie (8/5): - The only problem was the air conditioner in both of our rooms would not work and it was very hard to sleep.
- Nicholus (4/5): - I’ve been staying at the venture off and on for the last eight years to come visit My Boys and I enjoy staying here for the fact it’s got a pool and a hot tub but tonight there was a lot of basketball tournaments going and wrestling so there was a lot of families in the pool and enjoying the time of their life with their kids and I understand that there is a curfew on the pool but for $400 for two night and a full pool the cranky lady in the office came in there very rude and kicked us all out and on a second note, I get the open container rule. If it was glass this is the only place that yelled about a couple adults, having a beer can by the hot tub as we watch our children play. I just learned today that they were gonna put a comfort in here and I’m all about sporting local businesses, but I think the local businesses needs to serve a little bit more respect. Maybe it will be good for the competition to see how staying customers are treated.
- Rob (5/5): Passable - staff were great. kids enjoyed the pool.
- Samantha (2/5): - Pool and Hot tub were very dirty. Restuarant was closed when we arrived and when we left in the morning the resturaunt was still closed. Upgraded room had a tiny fridge and tv. The normal queen room had a bigger TV and fridge.
- Monica (7/5): Good -
- Tabitha (8/5): Very good -
- Colter (4/5): - Feels like it hasnt been updated since the 80's, so be prepared. I literally shocked the light in my room with static electricity and it blew the bulb.....
- Barbara (7/5): Good -
- Los4bs (9/5): Libby's best stay - The Venture Inn is THE place to stay in Libby -- the front desk staff is super friendly, there are always cookies on the counter, the lobby is lovely with a fireplace and wood carving sculptures, and the breakfast restaurant serves up great grub to get the day started. Hot tub was a perfect 102° for an apres-ski soak. I was a little surprised that there was no maid service during my three-night stay. I guess I needed to get in the habit of making my own bed!
- Kenneth B (10/5): - Both the room and hotel common areas were very clean. I thought the beautiful wood carvings from the annual wood carving championships were a perfect touch. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. These accommodations were perfect for my week stay.
- Mark (6/5): Ok for a place to stay. - The stay was ok for what we needed it for. The room was ok. Nothing special. The beds are not height friendly for short people or children. They cannot get up without assistance. The beds underneath were super dusty and the shower had shampoo/conditioner dried on the walls so clearly wasn't cleaned thoroughly. For the price I would have expected more.
- Shane (5/5): Passable - The location was nice. The facility seemed to be a bit run down, and the main reason for the stay was the pool called in advance to make sure it was available and they assured me it was. 1/2 way into my stay it was finally available.
- Donl (9/5): Superb -
- Lauren (8/5): - Staff was super kind and helpful! Loved the wooden carvings in the lobby and outside the entrance. Hotel and rooms are older and pre-loved but kept in fair condition. Hotel is right next door to restaurant which was convenient after my drive from Kalispell.
- Travis (8/5): We enjoyed our stay - I liked that it had an indoor pool and friendly staff I think the pool needs to be cleaned more often. Or maybe just repainted looked dirty
- Joshua (10/5): - Great stay
- scott (8/5): - The room was nice a little noisy with the road right behind but the view in the morning was beautiful.
- Mark (8/5): Good choice for my quick trip to Libby. - Good option for my quick overnight stay. Room was clean, cool and comfortable. Staff uniformly warm, welcoming and otherwise excellent. Being able to walk inside to the restaurant and breakfast (good options, delicious) a plus especially in winter. Bathroom clean and functional but a bit cramped, especially getting around the door.
- James (8/5): It was fine - It was centrally located.
- Linda (6/5): - Slept well! Very outdated
- Steven (8/5): - Fast friendly check in. Restaurant on site. Great price.
- Lorena (9/5): Superb -
- Marvin (7/5): Good -
- Ann (10/5): - My family has always stayed at the Venture Inn. We used to get a free breakfast but not anymore. We do love the pool and hot tub. Also some of my family is in the cemetery behind the hotel. I can visit family members past and present!
- Douglas (8/5): Very good - Nice locations and friendly service. Prompt and considerate.
- Rick (8/5): - The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. Had breakfast at the Venture Inn restaurant and it was good. Would stay here again.
- Rebekah (9/5): This was just what we had in mind. - This was a very clean, quiet and relaxing place. Small town on the way to Glacier National Park. It had that “old school” feel with just the right amount of amenities. It is right on the main road, so if a busy time of year could be less relaxed.
- Thomas (10/5): - Hotel clean and well maintained. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Would stay again if in the area.
- Tency (6/5): - Really needs an update to rooms and pool area.
- Mary (10/5): - The room was clean and beds pretty good. The AC unit was a bit noisy but being able to open the windows at night for cool breezes removed that slight irritant. Ask for a room away from the street side if you like to open the windows.
Easy access to the Libby area and friendly host at the front desk.
- Mardi (3/5): Will look elsewhere next time for the price, not worth $150.00 a night at all. - The location was great for our needs. The beds were very uncomfortable, the fan in the bathroom runs constantly and no way to turn off. No housekeeping and stayed 3 nights. I guess you have to request service, but nobody disclosed that.
- Susan (10/5): - Excellent place to stay. Lovely staff and quiet and clean
- Christine (10/5): It was a great place to stay at! Highly recommend! - We had a nice stay! The staff were very nice, the rooms were clean, it was quiet, and the price was great! We will definitely be back! Nothing.
- Rita (8/5): - Quiet and comfortable. Needs some updating.
- Paul (8/5): - Friendly staff.
Good restaurant.
- Rachel (4/5): Comfy bed and a hot shower. Not worth $150 a night - Outdated. Lack of room amenities, hassle to get towels from staff, front desk night agent was not personable or very happy.
- Carolyn (10/5): - Enjoyed meeting our new great grandbaby
- Linda (10/5): - The restaurant was very good!
- Kenneth (8/5): - Clean and fairly well maintained. Older but well maintained. Nice place across the parking lot to have dinner.
- Kim (10/5): - Noisy people up late. Carpet in room was not smooth, lifting and creating a trip hazard.
- Xiaoli (10/5): - Very nice place in Libby
- Victor (8/5): Very good -
- Petra (6/5): - Property is in need of massive renovation, bedrooms are very worn and old. lobby is lovely.
- Uponthemountain1955 (10/5): Clean, quiet, comfortable. - Check in was seamless and respectful. The desk staff was informative and unfailingly polite. The room was immaculate, very tidy, and the bed in one of the most comfortable hotel beds that I have slept in. This is by far and away the best hotel in Libby, and I highly recommend it to anyone.
- Mary (8/5): Very good -
- Shelly (6/5): - If you are staying more then one night make sure you request clean towels, and your bed made since they only do that every three days. I had two towels for three people to last. Since I didn’t know policy.
- Laura (5/5): Passable -
- Verified traveler (6/5): Clean room comfortable, some staff undesirable - The staff when we checked in, was very rude, rolled their eyes when they were inconvenienced. Toilet ran constantly we had to remove the tank and manually get it to stop several times. Room was clean. It was comfortable staff in the morning made up for the staff from the night before would stay again would encourage everyone to not let the bad influence your stay.
- Robert J (6/5): - Can’t speak for other rooms but mine was quite dated and worn but comfortable. Sink was separate from shower/toilet in the room, could not adjust temperature as knob was stuck to room temp water.
