• ABOU BACAR (6/5): Mitigé. - Le personnel est très agréable. À chaque petit problème il essaie d’y remédier. Les équipements sont un peu vieillots. La chambre n’était pas fonctionnelle à notre arrivée (prévue depuis car réservation en ligne). Par exemple Il fallait régler une mauvaise odeur émanant des toilettes pendant que nous étions déjà installés. La carte pour ouvrir la porte n’a cessé d’avoir un souci, le soir même il a fallu bricoler la porte et se contenter de fermer à double tour. Donc pour ouvrir c’était compliqué. Le restaurant ne rend pas automatiquement la monnaie, on a l’impression de se sentir forcée pour un pourboire, j’estime que c’est au client de décider s’il laisse ou pas. Mais très souvent il garde la monnaie. C’est dommage.

• Daniel Mbogo (7/5): - The hotel is close enough to the SGR if you are planning to take an early train to morogoro/Dodoma... The trains can be very noisy.. They keep honking through out the night.
• Felicitas (9/5): - First and most of all, the true asset of this hotel is the staff: ever so friendly, genuinely helpful and smiling, but discreet (and not asking for tips)... this was true for everybody I came across from the doorman, receptionist, waiters, cleaning lady, spa ladies, manager. So do take care of the staff, don't spoil the good vibes;-). Modern architecture - I usually prefer historic buildings, but the exterior as well as the interior are very agreeable. Excellent Indian food. Spa centre. Excellent location: good starting point to travel by sea, air or train from or to Dar Es Salaam. Walking distance to historical sites or museums. Spacious, bright, quiet and comfortable room with window for train spotting (for railway lovers). Good WiFi. This only indirectly concerns the hotel: while the location is good, it's true that there are quite a number of con artists in the surrounding area (especially at the ferry point to Zanzibar) who are intrusive and insistent... if you come from Zanzibar you may be used to this, but if you come from elsewhere, it is really bothering.

L’accueil était excellent, l’équipe très disponible, respectueuse et toujours à l’écoute. La femme de ménage était adorable. Mention spéciale au monsieur qui portait systématiquement nos affaires : dès qu’il nous voyait descendre d’un taxi, peu importe l’heure, il était là pour nous aider et porter nos courses jusqu’à la chambre. La cuisine était incroyable, les plats étaient vraiment très bons. Les serveurs étaient super gentils, drôles et très professionnels. Ils ont été adorables avec mon bébé, ce qui a rendu le séjour encore plus agréable. Rien à signaler, tout s’est parfaitement bien passé

Les chambres étaient très confortables et très propres. La nourriture très bonne et variée bref…je recommande c’est hôtel sans hésitation. Absolument rien.

All the staff are exceptional, from the reservations manager Shariffa Shaban to the concierge Yohanne, as well as all the employees at the reception, the restaurant and management are extremely friendly and helpful. They recognize us by name and take care of all our requests promptly. The breakfast at CBD Hotel offers a good variety, and the restaurant also serves good lunch and dinner. The location is just minutes away from Kariakoo market. We love coming back here. Thank you to the great team at CBD Hotel! Can't think of anything

Great food too Having to leave!

The reconstructed road outside, makes travel in & our much easier. Mix up by booking.com, who did not respond to my on site request on Tuesday, to reduce the booking to 2 pax from 3. Then, booking.com did not respond to my on site request to reduce the 3 night booking, to 2 nights, due to a customer emergency we had to attend in Kenya on Friday night.

W środku jest znacznie lepiej, zarówno w recepcji jak i pokojach, mimo że obiekt ten lata świetności ma już za sobą. Śniadanie bardzo ok choć nie powala różnorodnością.

• Hannah (7/5): Der Aufenthalt war in Ordnung. - Die Unterkunft ist nah am Hafen und am Flughafen. Die Zimmer waren sauber und gut ausgestattet. Das Essen im Restaurant war sehr gut! Nachdem wir nur für eine Nacht dort waren und früh weiter mussten, konnten wir vom sonstigen Angebot nicht viel in Anspruch nehmen. Der Flughafentransfer hat zuverlässig funktioniert. Das Hotelgym war am Sonntag nicht geöffnet. Wir hatten über die Unterkunft eine Abholung von der Fähre organisiert. Die Abholung von der Fähre hat nicht geklappt. Wir haben eine halbe Stunde gewartet, es ist aber niemand aufgetaucht. Auf meine Nachricht ans Hotel, ob noch wer kommt, habe ich keine Antwort erhalten.

Ambiente tranquillo, ben curato e perfetto per rilassarsi prima di un volo notturno. La presenza di piscina e SPA è un grande valore aggiunto. Un ringraziamento speciale a Giri Dharan, Food and Beverages Manager, per la grande disponibilità e attenzione: sapendo che saremmo partiti durante la notte, ci ha gentilmente fatto servire la colazione all’orario di cena, un gesto davvero apprezzato. Buona qualità del cibo e personale sempre gentile e professionale. Hotel consigliato sia per soggiorni brevi sia come soluzione comoda e confortevole per uno scalo.

• Hemangini (1/5): Very poor experience - The restaurant staff Giri, chef and one receptionist lady, Upendo were very helpful. The room condition was poor. There were spider webs and dust on all edges. Men's hair and dead mosquitos on the floor, whoever came to the room to spray mosquito spray left their foot prints on the room floor and did not clean it. There were mosquitos and bed bug in my room. When reported they sprayed mosquito spray everywhere, even on towels, my things, my night dress, bed, pillows, in short everywhere. When I came in the room the spray odour was very powerful and I found it difficult to breath. I came back from outside , washed my face, when used towels to wipe my face, I could smell the spray smell on my face. There was no ventilation. The air conditioning was not working. I had to put the fan on full and keep the lights on whole night. I saw bed bug like insect in the room and on my clothing. The hotel had a lot of mosquitos; in the lift, in the restaurant, in my room, in my 3rd floor lobby. I was bitten by something in my room. I have taken photographs of the mosquito/bed bug bites. I was so fade up and bothered that I decided to leave the hotel accomodation earlier.and did not stay the 2nd night there. I reported this to the restaurant staff and the hotel receptionist and all they could do was to apologise...
• Chantal (5/5): Pas terrible… il a fallu faire avec… - Les restaurant…cuisine indienne savoureuse et personnel de ce restaurant particulièrement serviable et agréable. Extrêmement bruyant, sur une artère de la ville bouchée du petit matin jusqu’en fin de soirée…pas d’isolation correcte…difficile de dormir. Climatiseur très bruyant. Pas de rack pour mettre sa valise.
