- William (9/5): A lovely stay!! - Some say it needs updating, I say it is a classic English Pub/Hotel with tons of character!! We had a lovely stay. Centrally located (by short car ride) to city center and the Beamish Museum. Room was comfortable, breakfast was terrific and our dinners on both nights were excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all a great stay. TV in our room did not work and staff were unable to correct. No big deal
Pub was very busy both nights so, while the meal was excellent, service was slow. Not a complaint, but a heads up if it is busy and you are in a hurry or starving!
The pub has live music on Fridays and Saturdays but it was cut off precisely when they said it would be!
- Kusella (4/5): Disappointing anniversary stay due to hygiene and security issues - The room decor was nice and staff were polite when we initially raised concerns. The location was also convenient for our plans. Unfortunately the stay was heavily impacted by several issues. After returning from our anniversary meal, there was vomit on the stairs and carpet outside our room which remained there into the following days despite attempted clean-up.
The most serious issue was returning after being out all day to find our hotel room left wide open for several hours with cleaning equipment propping the door open. Staff confirmed this had happened while the hotel was fully booked, which left us very uncomfortable about the security of our belongings and privacy.
There were also cleanliness issues inside the room itself, including debris, hair and used earplugs left in drawers. The bathroom layout was also extremely cramped, with the toilet positioned so close to the wall that it was difficult to sit on properly.
Staff apologised and offered complimentary drinks, and Booking.com later became involved regarding compensation, but overall this was not the standard or experience we expected for an anniversary stay.
- Chris (7/5): - Staff we're very pleasant and helpfull Room could do with some minor improvements
Shower was poor, toilet roll holder wasn't secured to the wall properly, paint was starting to flake off the ceiling in the shower cubicle
- Stephen (8/5): Good value, would recommend. - Good location, comfortable bed, decent breakfast. Shower head was unable to be moved upwards, minor inconvenience.
- Ann (9/5): -
- Mosley (10/5): - Lovely Nothing
- alan (10/5): Another excellent stay - The staff are very good and welcoming and the room is very good. Overall very good value for money.
- James (10/5): Excellent stay at the Worm - Staff were super friendly, welcoming and accommodating (even when I accidentally locked myself out of my room!). The pub is a lovely space with a nice cosy feel. My room was excellent, spacious with a large comfy bed and everything I needed for a two night stay. Bathroom was modern and clean with a powerful shower. Car parking was easy and accessible. Breakfast was fantastic - a buffet with juice, tea/coffee, cereal, toast, fruit, yoghurts and croissants, and cooked-to-order full English breakfast which was perfect. I'd highly recommend and will definitely stay again.
- Gary (5/5): - Convenient location . Breakfast included It was a late booking and room above the live music. Just as well he was good 😊
Bathroom light was faulty
Breakfast should have been warmer

- Vicki (10/5): - Was a lovely hotel, food was very good value and the breakfast was yummy 😋 Thought it could do with a lick of paint outside and just a general tidy up. The beds was ok but husband kept hitting his legs on the very big corners

- ggpg1 (9/5): enjoyed the lively atmosphere and traditional pub surroundings. - Loved the decor of the room. Breakfast and dinner were great. The room was noisy in the evening, but only until about 30 minutes after the drinks service was over (so it was quiet after 11 pm, or midnight on Fridays and Saturdays)
- Erin (9/5): Lovation hoid, bed comfortable and shower was great, excellent staff, value for money - Location was good, bed was comfortable, great shower, excellent staff, value for money

- Sarah (7/5): - Staff were lovely, location was fair and seemed nice. The bathroom wasn't completely clean when we arrived. The decor was a bit tired. It was very noisy and we heard a lot of noise from other guests shouting in middle of night, but that is to expected in a pub setting.

Lovely shower in the en suite.
Ample parking.
Good Wi-Fi
The entertainment at the weekend was good.
We'll definitely go back. It was great value for money for the price. Normally, you get what you pay for, but we thought we got a really good value stay in the Lambton Worm.
It's a character full old pub and the staff do what they can to make it a nice experience.
- Naomi (8/5): -
- David (10/5): - Excellent friendly service Nothing
- Percie (10/5): Recharged batteries - Wonderful.place to stay. Staff could not have been friendlier or helpful. Food was spot on on both quality and price.
- Ruth (8/5): Friendly pub with comfy rooms and good breakfast. - Helpful , friendly staff, lovely clean room , big towels, good shower and nice toiletries. Decaf coffee on the tea tray. Oat milk available at breakfast. Lovely fresh croissants. Nice buzz in the evening with live music. No net on bedroom window which looked out onto the front area of the pub & road. No blind on bathroom window . Need decaf , ground coffee at breakfast- cafetières made to order, maybe? Music a bit too loud so hard to talk over dinner.

- mark (7/5): Weird - The place is a bit weird, but we were OK with it because it was cheap.
- Lee (7/5): Lovely hotels with lovely rooms and great breakfast but noisy - OK the hotel was lovely with excellent friendly staff the rooms are lovely to look at and comfortable bed only 1 main issue. the food was good only having breakfast though so can't rate the other meals The sound proofing or lack of you can hear every door opening people talking the first night, and only night there was guest other than us was a nightmare with people shouting ok not the hotels fault but if the room had sound proofing you'd hear less of the noise which is the hotels fault
- David (5/5): -
- Rebecca (6/5): Ok - Lovely staff great location Room we stayed in on this occasion the bed was very uncomfortable
- Rebecca (6/5): Easy stay - Lovely staff room we stayed on this occasion was better than last Needs a little updating in rooms
- Anthony (10/5): - A very friendly and attentive hotel, good food and drinks in the evening and an excellent breakfast not a lot
- Russell (3/5): - Breakfast was ok Room wasnt great at all , bedsheets had stains on them , shower was broken , paint falling off ceiling in shower cubicle , mattress springs had gone , TV didn't work right , the place itself if you looked around , things were broken , seats were ripped or broken ..... Not very clean and a lack of urgency to please customers.
- Garry (8/5): Overall very good and I’d go back - Homely and very comfortable Over a public house however only a little music could be heard

- Aked (10/5): - Booked a room as we had a surprise birthday party 🎈 booked in the Lambton Worm.
The staff were amazing, especially Liv, who went above and beyond to ensure all guests had a stress-free evening. N/A
- Brian (10/5): - Staff were unreal from arrival to departure and everything in between. Nothing
- Joe (10/5): -
- Matthew (10/5): Will book again if working in Newcastle/ Durham - Overall great value for money, staff were very helpful and accommodating. Food was particularly good, I requested a bespoke meal and got exactly what I asked for with clean chicken and lots of veg. The Armellio room door could do with more sound insulation or draught proofing around the gaps, main entrance was squeaky (needs WD40) which I could hear, fortunately people stopped moving around before I went to sleep.
- Ridgway (7/5): It suited my stay - The breakfast and service was excellent The evening meal could have been better
- Lynne (8/5): Relaxing weekend in a great value for money accommodation - Spacious room with good facilities.

- Paul (10/5): Very welcoming and the room was extremely warm. We had dinner there and there was a wide choice, great value for money a - This is my fifth time here and it never disappoints. There’s always a sample parking and I love the rooms. Absolutely nothing
- Nathan (7/5): Nice burger - Good food, clean room. A little cold even with the heating on.
- kelly (10/5): -
- David (7/5): Came up for a funeral and stopped an extra night, if it was poor I’de have gone home or looked elsewhere. - Stopped there many times over the years. Used to book my lads in if we were working in the area, lived at the other side of town 40 years ago, so knew the pup. The bar area is not very clean, dont’t think its been decorated for many years. The stairs are dangerous and unacceptable for the disabled no ground floor rooms or a lift. Bedrooms are clean and accommodating. The staff are willing to help, courteous and pleasant. Food is good and they understand your requirements with respect to allergies.
- West (10/5): - As a softy southerner, you can't beat the North East for friendly hospitable folk and the Lambton Worm is no exception, from bar staff, chef to cleaners, staff were accomdating, polite and human unlike the personality bypass corporate robots we have down south. Great venue! My room was above a very active door, but room was clean and facilities were great, door issue was gone once bar close and got head down.
- Anthony (9/5): -
- Darren (7/5): Ok for contractors - Good food & parking Could be cleaner
- Lee (8/5): -
- Gemma (8/5): -
- Ralph (3/5): Small and tiny room with poor quality food - Convenient place to stay for our journey The room was cramped, tired and noisy. We visited in June and it was unbelievably hot with only one tiny window, which we had to close due to the noise coming from the beer chiller? We had dinner one night that was cafe food at restaurant prices. So poor neither of us finished it. The staff were very friendly. My wife seemed to think that the pillows and bedding smelt unclean
