- Kathleen (10/5): Beautiful Austrian hotel with fantastic food. Excellent location for ski slopes . - This is a beautiful, traditional Austrian hotel. The family make you feel very welcome. The food is outstanding. Location fantastic to cross the road to the ski lift. Highly recommend.
- Søren (9/5): - God stemning
God mad
Beliggenhed Boblebadet var ikke tilstrækkelig opvarmet
- Daniel Franc (9/5): Vlastní servis lyží. - Mají výborného kuchaře. Jejich večeře byly excelentní. Hotel je fakt hodně blízko lanovky. Mají i vlastní servis lyží. Prostředí je velmi příjemné. Na snídani si nemůžete udělat čaj sám. Musíte si ho objednat a pak čekat, než vám ho přinesou.
- Maria (9/5): - Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
- 597edwardp (10/5): Good for ski holiday - Very cosy Austrian hotel traditional and modern in the same time, close to the Alpendorf ski gondola. Friendly people all over the hotel and I would like especially to highlight the team serving at the Mozartstube.
We had the 3/4 gourmet board with good variety of food but I think it will be nice if a soup will be offered at the after ski buffet.
Spa area was very tidy and relaxing, perhaps the water in the hot tub should be slightly warmer. I would recommend to book a massage session as well...amazing after a day on the slopes.
Rooms are well kept with smart TV and radio channels in the shower. We had rooms 114 and 115 with excellent views of the mountains and the valley.
My teenagers loved the vast play area. Their favourite: pool table...and a plus for everyone: live music by "Strangers".
I would like to return to this hotel for our ski holidays in the future.

- Tomas (7/5): -
- Sven (8/5): Gute Lage, direkt am Geisterberg. Personal und Verpflegung gut. Tiefgarage vorhanden. Im großen und Ganzen empfehlenswer - Lage, Ambiente und Personal. Dusche ist beim öffnen fast auseinander gefallen, Lattenrost vom Bett defekt. Fahrstuhl defekt.
- Dana (9/5): Highly recommend for a relaxing or active vacation! - Gorgeous hotel in the mountains… super friendly staff all around. Balcony with amazing view, lovely facilities such as swimming pool, sauna jacuzzi… great food! No airconditioning and it was super hot weather.

- Olena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional - This is a beautiful hotel in a picturesque part of the Austrian alps. We were in awe of the views from the restaurant on arrival and were greeted with a complimentary beverage. Our original plan was to arrive at the hotel late but we arrived in time to use the spa facilities and eat dinner which we purchased ad hoc rather than in a package. We were so glad we did arrive early and wished we had more than one night! Prior to this hotel our culinary experiences in Austria had been a bit disappointing but the food here was great and priced similarly to other places we visited. We hope to visit again in the winter season to make use of the skiing which seems to be accessible just across the road. Only thing that could have made it better was if we had known that the shuttle to/from the train station was included in our booking as we paid for a taxi from the train station (~20 EUR) and while it's not far it is not really walkable as it's quite a steep and winding road.
- Maria (6/5): Ok, but won‘t come back - The location is great, the view from the terrace is amazing -Room-
The room is quite big, however bathroom definitely requires renovation as it is very old. There is no conditioner or even a ventilator, so it was very difficult to sleep at night during hot summer.
-Food-
The service in the restaurant seems to be quite unprofessional. During breakfast I asked two times for a simple hard boiled egg, and they could not prepare it properly. Food from a la carte restaurant was mediocre and definitely does not worth its price
- Elizabeth (7/5): Nice food but the rooms are hot in the summer. - Nice indoor pool and jacuzzi included in the stay. A bit pricey for what it is. I guess you pay for being in the mountains. Our rooms were in the nook of the roof and you only had a small window where you had to stand on your toes to see the view. Some rooms had balconies. There was no aircon, so in 30’C summer the room was very hot and stuffy. The rooms are obviously made for winter. The fire alarm went off at 5:30am which was a false alarm and woke us all up. The food was good, they had some good local specialties. There was a barbecue the one night which was good but they didn’t have a table for us outside. Some of the staff can be a bit abrupt but I think it’s because they don’t all speak English. We felt a little bit unwelcome being foreigners. I will definitely come back to the area, it is absolutely beautiful.
- Marko (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Fabulous hotel and top quality staff in a great resort with genuine traditional charm. - We love this area - probably the 10th time we have visited. A wonderful hotel with fabulous staff that genuinely seemed to care. The food was spectacular and accompanied by some good quality house wines. The hotel has a beautiful spa that we used every day and was usually empty/v quiet. The hotel's ski hire was excellent with a very knowledgeable man in charge - I hired the best skis I've ever used.
- 312cathyk (10/5): Our best ski trip with young kids - Everything was perfect, from rooms to swimming pools, and from ski storage to kids play area. Except the evening meal serving speed can be a bit quicker, because we have young kids. The speed would be absolutely fine if only adults were involved.
- Jose (10/5): - Was Amazing, I went with my Wife for her birthday and they helped me to make of this an unique experience.
Totally recommend; the place , food and first of all the attention of all the Staff is amazing ; so if you need anything don’t hesitate and talk to Alexander and Martina ,they helped us a lot!
- Daniel (8/5): - Side of a big road
- THOMAS (10/5): - Winfach Hammergeil!
- Sveinbjörg (7/5): Good -
- Linda (10/5): - .
- Kathleen (10/5): Outstanding! A wonderful hotel with exceptional food and welcome. - This is an outstanding property. The family run hotel is excellent. So friendly and welcoming. The meals were exceptional . The spa and wellness facilities were also excellent. Already planning to return. Nothing! It is an outstanding hotel.
- Lubova (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ciaran (10/5): - Very friendly and welcoming staff.
- Moma (10/5): Exceptional - Excelent dishes
- Amir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional -
- FarAway40228050303 (10/5): Highly recommended hotel - Great hotel, location wise to get to attractions in the area. The suite was comfortable with all the necessary amenities. Nice selection of food for breakfast and nice menu for gourmet dinners. We loved our week stay here.
- Mark (10/5): Great mountain retreat - The room was classic Austrian. We had half board (breakfast and dinner included) and the food was amazing. Hotel was spotless. They apparently don't have much employee turnover. Many have been there more than 10 years. My wife really enjoyed her massage.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Christian (10/5): Alpine Pearl !! - A near perfect stay with the Tannenhof Alpines Lifestyle Hotel. Service was extremely good, staff was friendly and spoke vert well English. Food was typical Austrian and plenty. Complimentary afternoon snack, i.e. Bar-B-Q on their outdoor patio.
Hotel was equipped with their own Ski Rental and Repair shop.
Spa and Wellness area was absolutely outstanding, with multiple Saunas, Steam-bath and created a genuine and relaxed atmosphere except from a few guests not adhering to the house rules (their kids played handball in a Spa pool?!)
Nice downstairs entertainment rooms; Bar, Gaming room, Pool-billiard, and a small live-stage for live Music Performance.
Hotel situated in Main Street of Alpendorf with easy an 2 minute walk to the Ski Lift.
Only downside: Residing their in a Champions or UEFA League playing week, we were forced to watch 5 German Teams 3 days in a row and denied to watch Manchester United playing by popular vote (i.e. too may Germans) - Hotel didn't intervene.
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional - Great selection and environment
- danielasP8683CZ (10/5): Fantastic relax - We spent an amazing winter holiday. The nearest ski-slope is across the street - a short way even for children. Our room was nice and big enought for 4 people, with a beautiful view. The staff friendly and attentive. Food absolutelly delicious. Entertiment for children at the kinder-club enjoyable and creative. Everything was perfect. We will be back in summer.
- Barry (8/5): - Compleet
- Stephan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Franz (10/5): - Hat uns sehr gut gefallen, wir kommen sicher wieder
- dakkers (10/5): Left us wanting nothing - We stayed 2 nights in September and was more than surprised at the quality of the place. The staff were attentive, the food was excellent and the facilities perfect.
Attention to detail, they obviously recognise people are there to enjoy the mountains and hike, so they provide a rucksack (and umbrella) in each room.
The wellness area is clean and there are lots of sauna options (I particularly liked the outside hut)
One last thing to note: the evening dinners were EXCELLENT. 4 - 5 courses, all very tasty. 4 choices of main, including a vegetarian. And the Wine Book (not menu) is extensive.
- Eran (10/5): Beautiful alpine hotel - Beautiful views, good meals, nice room, good spa, and perfect service
- Verified traveler (10/5): Top!!!
- AJMacD (10/5): Relaxing - What did I not like about the hotel:
only saw croissants for breakfast once
the temperature control in the room didn't seem to have any effect and the room was very warm (we opened the window)
What did i like:
Great location across the road from the ski lift
Great food and plenty of it
Good selection of juices at breakfast
Egg station at breakfast
Staff very helpful right through from booking to departure
Spacious, comfortable room (we took a junior suite)
Swimming pool to relax after a day's skiing
The hotel collects and drops us at the train station
The decor, particularly liked Dorfplatz
How could the hotel do better:
A little more live music in Dorfplatz. Why not add some classic rock?
- Cory (8/5): It was only ok. - The room was nice. The WiFi was not good. The breakfast and salad buffet could use a little more variation , got old after a few days of always the same. I didn’t like that at dinner you had to pay for water to drink. At breakfast and afternoon snack they have free water. But with dinner you have to buy a $6 bottle. The pool area was ok. The jacuzzi was not warm at all.
Hotel is right across from the ski lift and they have a nice ski room to store your gear in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice and polite staff. Great food and a very good view of mountains.
- swede02 (10/5): Very satisfying - Coming back to this hotel we were afraid to be disappointed, since our last visit was very good. But on the contrary, it was at least as good as we remembered it. Both the very pleasing and stylish interior to the service presented by the family Viehhauser and the staff. We had the 3/4 board and it is more than enough to keep you going during the day. The food prepared was excellent and I especially liked the Austrian alternatives for the dinner. The spa is not big but quite enough for relaxation.
The family is also preparing some daily excursions during the week. So for example one day Karin took those interested for a trip to Salzburg and the next day Franz Sr. took a group - me including - for a hiking trip. This with no extra charges.
The only minor negative thing is that they charged 20 Euros per day for our dog. Normally it is around 5 Euros. But the dog liked also the hotel.
- JurajJ108 (4/5): Very nice place to stay but choose different hotel - From the booking thorugh the first door step till the end of stay, nothing to appreciate. Perhaps one or two waitress and one waiter (I believe son of the owner's family). Booking cancelation in a fair way doesn't exist as somebody already wrote here before. We couldn't take breakfast only. They push you to take full board even in February (not NY or Christmas), but the quality of the food is rather average. Receptionist was not behaving appropriately from the beginning, no help at all, every question was "hassle" her even though nobody was waiting behind us. Majority of waiters do not know that simple think how to put the hand in front of the mouth when coughing so they distribute their bacillus across the guests and meals...not writing about their duty to stay away from the service when they are sick. Mould in the room is just something you don't expect in 4S hotel. Any questionnaire or just simply question how did you like your stay at leaving was not in place. They are simply happy with the poor job they do. This hotel is definitely not 4s* for us. But the place for skiing is great and we will definitely come back again. Same place but different hotel.
- frequentlyaround (2/5): How rude! - When I called the hotel Tannenhof trying to explain that due to health reason I had to cancel my reservation the receptionist Manuela told me she had no time to talk to me. "Send us an email, we have no time to talk on the phone to customers..."
When I insisted to talk to her on and explained that I needed to cancel my booking due to health reasons she show no pity or mercy and eventually HANG UP on me.
I called her back. Having prepaid (for around 100€) a room with half board I asked at least for a partial refund for the unused meals. She continued to show no mercy and refused to offer any refund.
"Not even 1 Euro you will get back from us" She said and she HANG UP again while I was talking.
Be aware that this is what you can expect when booking a room at Tannenhof.
My impression is that they just want your many and they are unable to show empathy or pity even when health issues are concerned.
In the end I lost all of my money and I was shocked by the rudeness of the receptionist.
Be carefull......
- Arch68 (10/5): Fabulous Hotel!!!! - We stayed in the Hotel Tannenhof for two nights and loved everything about it. We had a junior suite on the third floor that looked out over the valley. The balcony was large and had screens on each side so that you did not have to worry about your privacy. The rooms were very comfortable and the bathroom very clean and with all the amenities you needed. The location is perfect if you are skiing in the winter or riding the gondola up the mountain to hike in the summer. It is literally across the street from the ski lift. The service was outstanding, and the staff very helpful and accommodating. We liked the fact that at almost every hotel where we stayed at in Austria, and had half board, you were assigned a table and that was your table for your entire stay. Due to this you get to know the wait staff well. We were very fortunate to have Agnes assigned to our table, and thoroughly enjoyed talking with her. Not only was she very efficient in providing us with our meal service, she was also very friendly and thoughtful and she made our stay at Hotel Tannenhof even more special. There are quite a few hotels in this area and we were very pleased that we picked this one. It was fantastic!!!
- greendog (10/5): Nice Hotel, close to the gondola - We had a great stay at the Tannenhof. For us convenience was key and the gondola was an easy walk across the street. We stayed in a junior suite with two adults and a teenager and found the room just right, it had everything we needed and was spacious. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the facilities are good: big boot/ski room, convenient in-house ski rental, small swimming pool, good sauna/steam room. The food was very good, both at breakfast and dinner (we had half board). We would definitely return to the Tannenhof.
- 367ulrikr (10/5): Just fantastic! - We are staying at the hotel for one week skiing. We travel a lot both private and business and we have never experienced a hotel like this. It is located just in the heart of the ski resort next to the lift. The welcome and service are outstanding. They really take care of you and the hotel has everything. The food is excellent and on gourmet level.....looking foreward to the coming holidays😃
- Peter (10/5): Ideal family-run hotel, very close to the gondola - We stayed at Tannenhof for one week during UK February half term holidays. On arrival the reception staff were extremely polite and helpful and arranged the family ski passes for collection the next morning, at no extra charge. Car parking was available on site. Ski equipment hire was available at the hotel itself and was easily arranged prior to the children's ski lessons. The food was plentiful and of excellent quality throughout the stay and nothing was too much trouble for the hotel staff. The room was furnished to a high standard and was very clean and maintained during our stay. The hotel is situated directly opposite the main gondola to the Alpendorf ski area, and is ideal as the main village stretch is on a rather steep road, which would not facilitate the transport at the end of the day of tired children and family ski equipment to a hotel situated higher up into the village. The ski area is well suited to families with children beginning their ski experience and we used the Toni Gruber ski school who were really excellent and had our kids skiing well by the end of the week. All in all, this is an excellent hotel and we would definitely stay once again should we choose to ski this area again.
- MatejaP906 (10/5): Wonderful wellness hotel with phenomenal food - Wonderful alpine style hotel with great location right next to the ski slopes. Room was large, spotless clean, with balcony, nice bathroom with all amenities needed. Food is amaizing and relay something for gourmet lovers. The staff was wonderful.
- 980iuliaf (2/5): Not 4****superior except for the price and the horrible experience of strage men walking in - Although the hotel was empty we have receive the worst room on last floor, under the sloppy roof. The smell in the hallways is bad, and the fixtures are old and outdated. In the morning, I was coming out from the shower and i bumped into a man who let himself in our room. He spoke German only and insisted to come in. My husband was in his underwear... The guy comes in and looks at the radiator and leave... with no explanation... from anybody. We recover from the shock, husband goes to take a shower and I take the bathrobe off and turn to get dressed, right in front of the door (there was no other place in the room). That moment the door is opened AGAIN and ANOTHER man who comes in! I am completely naked and start to shout at him in English, he said something in German and leave the room. Pointless to say that NOBODY from the hotel mentioned the incidents and we never received an explanation or any apologies.
Confirmed price was 130 Euro. Our son did not need or have an extra bed (that was 30 Euro) but we were asked to pay nevertheless. It was not to cover his food because we paid 10 Euro for that too... Food for half board was mediocre. Menu in German only (entire hotel is made for German speakers only, no En info or TV channels). Total price for one night HB with a glass of wine and a beer for dinner was 180 EURO. WOULD YOU PAY FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS???? WOULD YOU GO BACK FOR MORE???
How is it possible to pretend that you are a 4**** superior and not call ahead in the room if you need to urgently enter? Especially when you only have 3 rooms occupied? HOW can you not apologize for such a huge mistake??? The only improvement possible is fire all the personnel or close permanently. I vote for the last option.

- SiegfriedM99 (4/5): Ski holiday - Very disappointing experience to stay in Hotel Tannenhof during a one-week skiing holiday. The kitchen of the hotel is very good, which is a plus. The room are oke, but very small. The biggest disappointment however was the unfriendliness of a major pert of the staff, including the family-owners of the hotel. I stay more then 100 nights a year in hotel, never seen this level of unfriendliness! The owners/family did not who any interest in their guests, all is left to the (unfriendly) staff. In addition, the "wellness centre" of the hotel is old, and there is not enough capacity to provide a decent wellness offering (1 shower offering warm water for all guests making use of the hotel!) Superb massage in the spa, big compliment to the lady providing the massage! Stay away, holidays and unfriendliness do not go together! In addition, price-quality not in balance, not at all!
- 248hannaw (10/5): hanna und wolfgang - Tannenhof is an excellent location! We had a room with balcony and a wonderful view of the Alps, in the evening gourmet cooking and a good wine selection, splendid wellness facilities.... We surely will come back!
- Simoneandonly (10/5): Doorstep Skiing with Fabulous Cuisine at the Beautiful Tannerhof - My daughter and I had a fabulous week here during February 13 holiday ; meeting up with a group of friends, who had recommended this hotel. We were not disappointed! I booked directly with the hotel and they were extremely helpful and happy to organise a taxi to collect us from the airport. We arrived to a glass of Bubbly and a spacious room with views over the mountains and plenty of storage. Dinner was a wonderful mix of Austrian hospitality, truly excellent food presented with more than a touch of Art. This hotel is all about friendly, unpretentious luxury & comfort and all around there are little helpful touches like the spa bag or the back pack in every room. The spa areas with its treatment rooms are like 'haven' ,particularly once the kids are gone. They even had someone doing guided sauna tours and that was great fun. I loved the Finish out-door sauna-but you have to be prepared to get very naked.
We all loved the skiing! The boot- room & equipment hire are conveniently placed in the basement and just across the road is the gondola station giving you access to miles and miles of skiing.
For once I managed to be on the first lift up and the experience was truly magical and very worth getting up for.
Cutting a long story short, we had a fantastic week and can't wait to go back.
Thanks to the Tannerhof team for making us feel so very welcome and for accommodating our at times complicated needs.
