Guest Reviews
- James (10/5): - Not applicable
- Kathryn (10/5): - I really liked staying here. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. We are staying here again in 2 weeks!
- Heidemarie (8/5): - None of all the hotels I stayed in, on this trip, none offered room service. They didn’t even had breakfast. The question of room service doesn’t apply for this category of hotels.
- Janet (8/5): - This was located right by the highway and just across the parking lot was a Mexican restaurant called El Zarape that we just walked to and food was very good, The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It is an older building and older furnishings but good for an overnight stay.
- brian (8/5): decent - decent value for a place to sleep while passing thru
- Charlene (4/5): - PROs: The check in was very nice and quick. The night clerk was pleasant. The air conditioning worked great. Even the far side of the room was cool. The water was for a shower stayed hot for both showers. The bed was fairly comfortable but if one of us turned or moved it would wake the other one up. A fly swatter was in the room. The area was quiet
CONs: Leftover food in the microwave from a previous patron. The bedspread appeared dirty and in need of replacement. The room had an abundant supply of flies.
- Joe (10/5): - Nice motel for the money
- David (8/5): - Convenient to Highway and older but clean and good value.
- Quentin (10/5): - Good value
- Matthew (6/5): - Strong smell of chemicals when entering the room. You need an eye mask here. Heavy lightning surrounds property and no blackout blinds or curtains in room
- Kathy (10/5): Good for a one night stay - Acceptable. Good value for a one night stay. Room was clean, shower was good, office staff polite.
- Scott (8/5): - Liked that the hotel kept with an historic theme, seeing as it is right on historic route 66. Enjoyed the park and lake right next door. Decent breakfast options.
- John (4/5): Cockroaches - The room smelt horrible like someone had smoked in there and they tried to cover it up. I also saw 2 cockroaches in our room. The free breakfast was little Debbie snack cakes and bananas.
- Robert (8/5): - Ok
- Christopher (10/5): - Staff was friendly. Rooms are clean. Rooms are equipped with up to date amenities. We would recommend staying here.
- Don (10/5): - Very clean! Quiet
- Curtis (10/5): - It's an old-style, park-in-front-of-the-door motel, but the sign outside says it's been newly remodeled, and it shows. Everything is fresh and clean, with all the usual modern amenities for those who are computer reliant. The wifi connection was good. Everything was new except the dressers, and they were clean. Continental breakfast was adequate.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke, and bugs were crawling out of the walls to die. Like they just fumigated before I checked in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): No frills - Small, older building. Super clean place. Will stay again
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean and Comfortable - The place was clean and comfortable.
- MIchael (10/5): Unexpectedly great stay. - We had a fantastic one night stay while travelling. Such a pleasant welcome to a nicely appointed and updated room. There's still work to do, but when travelling though, we will absolutely book this motel again.
- Roy (8/5): - The bed was uncomfortable, because there was no mattress pad.
- Rod (10/5): - Nice place, good value. Would stay again.
- AMY (8/5): - Nice, clean, and well lit outside rooms. There is a unique situation with birds. Not interfering with room or cars, but be prepared. Building next door triggers noise in attempt to counteract the number of birds that roost overnight. All in all I would stay there again.
- Anne (10/5): - Very nice updated room. Price was very reasonable. Easy access form teh highway.
- Bryson (10/5): - It was an older hotel, but maintenance and cleaning were great. A good stay and a good deal.
- Mark Gerard (2/5): - Advertised as pet friendly, but clerk would not give me a room because I had a dog.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - At least 8 flies in the room, there was even a fly swatter in the room, so maybe that's a plus? Bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Just generally run down a bit. Not horrible, but I don't love having to swat a bunch of flies.
- Anna (8/5): Great cheap no-frills option! - Great no-frills option for the area; cheap, very clean, easily accessible to the highway and to shopping/dining. Bed was comfortable & room/bathroom were very clean. Loved having the fridge & microwave in the room.
- Rhonda (10/5): - It was very clean
- Paul (6/5): - Good location
Smell of the room was strange
- Myrna (10/5): Clean and comfy - Quick overnight stay. Great value for your money. Clean and comfy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Reasonable price. Not out of the way driving.
- Randelle (10/5): Very nice! - Very pleasant staff. Nice, clean room. Great housekeeping. I will stay here again next time I'm in Garden City
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was super clean and quiet!!
- Adam (10/5): A fine budget motel. - Service was prompt and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Nothing really bad to say. A couple flying insects greeted me, but at least the room came with a fly swatter. It is to be expected with a motel, especially one in a city filled with the aroma of nearby feed lots.
A fine choice for a budget motel. I'd stay again.
- Mary Kate Torline (8/5): Nice Place to Stay - My husband and I had a lovely stay here. We were in town for a wedding and needed a place that was near the church and affordable. The staff were very friendly and even let us check in a few hours early. While it may not be a fancy hotel, it was exactly what we needed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a little out dated but clean
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location was not within easy walking distance to restaurants but it sure fit the bill for what we needed that night. The building was older but had some recent work and it was a pleasant stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was well taken care of.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very Welcoming. - Highly recommend this place. Good service at a great price.
- Verlyn (10/5): - It was exactly what we needed and could afford. We weren’t looking for a lot of frills, just a safe place to rest for the night before continuing our trip.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Garden City - This is a great no frills motel. Has refrigerator and microwave. Clean and the service is awesome
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great for a quick overnight - Very clean and breakfast limited to packaged pastries and packaged muffins. Coffee to go - no decaf ir juice. Toilet in our room did not sit flat on floor. Wobbled from side to side & front to back.
- John (8/5): Road Trip - Well lighted outside and clean. Pillows were like pancakes and soap bar left a little to be desired. Other than that nice place to stay the night.
- Elliott (10/5): - It was clean, very clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great place for business or family.
- Jerry (6/5): - The good:
Room was clean and quiet. Furniture, carpets, drapes looked new. Room truly was non-smoking despite the smokers butt kit outside. Plenty of hot water. Bed was comfortable. Price was reasonable for the area. Couch, table, mini fridge, microwave, alarm clock were nice amenities.
Biggest complaint was hotel advertises "deluxe breakfast". In reality I had a choice of the last package of blueberry muffins or a plastic wrapped cinnamon roll. There was also one pack of oatmeal - didn't see a bowl ro put it in. Muffins were dried out. I pitched them. OJ was fine.
Room door opened with difficulty. Towels were thin.
Overall- not the worst, but would explore another option next trip.
- Dennie (10/5): Good job manager - Great, very accommodating
- Joe (8/5): - Lots of resturants close by. Rooms were nice and clean .
- Jerry (8/5): - Room was clean. Located in a safe area. Nice King size bed. Microwave, refrigerator, desk, chest of drawers and a sofa. Minimum contact to check in.
Only complaint was door was a bit difficult to lock. Overall, a great place to stay for the price
- Allen (8/5): - Very pleasant staff. Very accommodating! Would definitely recommend to others!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Corona Virus caused the visit to be less enjoyable. No one was at fault here.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Alright and well maintained pleasant stay clean room
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was fine and the accommodations were acceptable, but the walls were very thin and the people next to us were terribly. There was an abandoned car in front of our room. I would suggest that they not have rooms next to each other if they have vacant rooms available.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I didn't like anything. Bedding was torn, hole in the shower wall. Never updated.
Poor, poor quality breakfast.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nothing was positive about my experience with this business.
- Teresa (8/5): Nice room - The room was clean and the bed was not too hard but not too soft. Pillows could be better but overall very comfortable except for the flies. But it wasn't just there. Everywhere we went in Garden City was a constant battle with flies. The staff was friendly and made sure we were happy.
- AbigayTijerina (8/5): - Location was good close to campus. Very thin walls and door lock was broken
- Ginger (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and condition of this hotel, especially for the price! The motel is older, but it was incredibly clean. The bed was super comfortable, and the staff was so nice and very helpful. If you're looking for a clean and comfortable place to rest your head when passing through Garden City, KS, this is a great place!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The owner explained all motels in the area were experiencing this due to lack of rain. Very apologetic and I appreciated his explanation and thoroughness. Motel was clean and near a very good restaurant and shopping!!!
- Marisa (10/5): Nice rooms - This was a very nice room for the price I paid. I would recommend it to anyone that needs a cheap place to crash. We arrived at bedtime and got up early to head on.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Older motel but clean restuant across street.right next to hwy 50.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I think I got bed bug bit. Three bites in a straight line... itched like crazy for 4 days.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - everything was just great, room nice and clean , stall very nice and friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - the only place Husband wants to stay, nice clean room, we stay there twice a year, meet our daughter and family there each time
- Verified traveler (10/5): - room was clean & comfortable, the staff were helpful and friendly
- Ronald (10/5): - Whenever I’m in Garden city I stay here the price is right and the owners are real nice people
- D.M. (8/5): - Clean rooms. Good enough breakfast for us. Friendly front desk person.
- Jordan (10/5): Good / econonical - It was good /clean / convenient/ pillows hard
- Debbie (2/5): Find a better place - Check in with a no nothing guy, couldn't give eating suggestions, couldn't get the internet to work, listing of the place was not like the place. NO ICE AVAILABLE, the front office guy knows nothing about it. Heater makes loud noises, doesn't shut off, the air out there stinks so bad you can't breath!
- Mark (8/5): - I was disappointed that there was not a coffee pot in the room. The free breakfast was adequate, but nothing to write home about.
- William (8/5): - Dated facility facility furniture &fixtures but clean & good bed. No coffee in room. Had to go up to office
- Verified traveler (10/5): - courteous service, clean rooms. very happy with our stay
- Timothy (8/5): Nice property for a good price. - The property is much nicer than the price indicates. It is a real value. The only problem is the rates are low so local "Wide Load" driver's stay there a lot and they stay up all night talking and grilling in the parking lot. They make it very hard to sleep . The manager is vigilant to keep them quiet if you complain.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Rude - The people who run the national 9 we're very rude.
- Todd (6/5): Quick stay - Just passing through
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This is a small motel that has been partially remodeled. The front desk staff was very friendly and we had no problems checking in. They have a pool but it's closed. We got to our room and there was a large fan and extension cords blocking our door. I moved the fan and we went in. There was the smell of mildew and/or smoke but it was slight and went away. The worst part was that the AC was on when we arrived but it started getting hotter and hotter. We kept lowering the temperature but it got hotter. I went to the front desk and the manager said it was a new unit and I told him it was definitely not working. He came to check it and saw that it was definitely not working. He said he would call his brother to come help him switch out our unit for a new one they had in storage. That was about an hour later. So we sat in a hot hotel room for about two hours. His brother finally came and they came in the room to completely switch out the AC and it finally started cooling off, though it took another 30 minutes or so. It was almost 100 degrees out and it was over 80 in the room the whole time. There were also a lot of flies since the door was left open while they changed the unit. The manager was very nice about it all, but never offered to change our room or to give us any kind of discount. The breakfast the next day was supposed to be deluxe" but it was hardly anything but wrapped pastries and yogurt. I wouldn't stay here again.
