We had full view of the tranquility of the sea from our bedroom which made extra special. The catering staff was excellent, catering for such a large group. On Sunday the kids were not able to use the pool.

Marion (8/5): Stunning Unit and Beach - Unit was new, spacious and well equipped with great views. Great to be able to take pets too. Lovely pool and amazing beach and access to it Had problems with water tank outside overflowing but sorted quickly. Entrance gate very difficult to open and close and needs attention. Reported a broken dining room chair at the beginning of the stay which was never replaced so used outside chair. Concern that in future, the area around will become a construction site. The red dust is a concern.
Deborah (8/5): - Lovely family lodge with easy access to different areas for elderly people with walkers. Staff attentive, friendly and kind. Food is exceptional... had an amazing pastrami bagel (pastrami was freshly cooked, warm and juicy) as a brunch snack and an absolutely perfectly cooked fillet of yellowtail with salsa verde. Really exceptional flavour. Room is a bit small but it was located perfectly to allow easy access to restaurant and lounge areas for my elderly mother.

Jacques (1/5): Terrible from start to finish!! - The location Upon checking in I was asked to pay for a breakage deposit. I had no problem doing this. The receptionist asked me if I was paying it with the same card I booked with I said yes, my credit card. The next morning when checking out I asked how long it would take to receive my refund and was then told they cannot refund to a credit card. Had I been told this I would have used my debit card. I’m in communication with the hotel via email who are now asking for a letter of confirmation from a South African bank account for them to refund to. I have told them I do not have a SA bank account. I’m also struggling to get the general managers contact details! I’m I their first guest from another country? I think not!! SHOCKING SERVICE !!!! DO NOT STAY THERE. I have other complaints but first need to get this issue resolved!!

Die zweite Tasse Kaffee musste ich extra bezahlen und zwar mit 80 Rand (ca. 4 Euro !!!). Normalpreis ca. 36 Rand ??? Speisekarte von der Auswahl her "bescheiden" und ausserdem kaum lesbar (verblasst und zu klein) ! Strand sehr mit angespültem Seetang (stinkt) bedeckt ! Spaziergang lässt man besser ! Poolservice : An den ersten beiden Tagen meines Aufenthaltes hat man den Pool um 16.00 Uhr abgedeckt ! WAr wohl auch der einzige Gast ??? Matten für die Liegen hat man auch nicht ausgebracht !

We had dinner and Breakfast at the hotel. However the food and dinner was not up to standard unfortunately. Breakfast was much better!

Leslie (7/5): Great potential, but details needs attention. - The restaurant was good. Lovely view (from our re-allocated room.) On arrival reception could not find our reservation. We booked a room with garden view and were taken to a room with a parking lot view. When we complained we were eventually given a choice of alternatives, but with a lot of attitude. As if we did something wrong and were being done a favour. At the cocktail bar before dinner we were told there is no stock, and they can't make cocktails. The arm of the shower head was loose and would flop down, so you need to shower with one hand holding up the shower. The room door latch had a gap/space, so in the night when the wind picked up the clicking sounds woke us and I had to go shove a piece of paper in the door.

Ruzaan (10/5): Very relaxing - Great property and we loved the parks & pools that kept the kids busy the whole day. I felt very uncomfortable having to ask ALL my adult guests for they ID's when I checked in. I really feel that just getting the main person that made the booking's ID is enough.

Melisha (7/5): Our stay was very enjoyable and we will definitely visit again. - Thank you for the extra attention to our room in view of our anniversary celebration. The food was good, although some salads would have been nice on the menu. The bar menu could do with some finger snacks, eg chicken wings, riblets, samoosas and spring rolls. Nibly bits are always nice, especially while we were watching the rugby @ the bar. We appreciate the extra effort to give us a sandwich and chips when we were too late for breakfast menu. Burger menu was really nice and food was tasty overall. The only suggestion is that maybe the warm pool can stay open for use a little later. I think closing a warm pool at 7pm is a bit too early for me.
Daneel (1/5): Poor - N/a If a room is advertised with wifi and hot water then that is the expectation. I did not have any wifi and their excuse was that they have to buy a new router. Why charge you for a room with wifi. I did not have warm water at all. Their excuse was that there is something wrong with the sun panels and they are a “green” establishment!! Not good enough. Furthermore I had to pay a breakage deposit of R1000 which is ridiculious! I was one person for 1 night!! The only thing that could break is a cheap glass in the room. Before I left the room was even checked if there were any breakage or if I have stolen anything in the room. This was done while I was in the room. Furthermore there were power failures the whole evening in the lodge. Never ever will I make use if this lodge again!!

From checking in it was amazing - The location was good, close to the beach and pool The speed hump’s… it’s way to broad for my Audi and I have been to blue bay a few times already. The height is fine but the width is way to much please can you guys have a look at it thanks.

Linda (10/5): We had the best family time imaginable - Breakfast was lovely. The staff made special arrangements for my grandchildren. The menu was varied and we all could choose what we felt like. Location is just the best view ever. We were totally happy. We did not have breakfast there every day, as it could become expensive after a while.

Carla (8/5): It was wholesome and I am grateful to Blue Bay lodge for our time spent there. - The rooms were clean and we had easy access to the pool and beach. I also liked the variety of food options for breakfast. This resort is very suitable for families and kids. Some of the waiters/ servers could work on their customer service a bit more, in terms of how they communicate with guests. The table cloths of the dining area were dirty all of the times we ate there, so regular hygiene checks would be appreciated- especially in an eating area.

Tshiamo (8/5): A comfortable and peaceful seaside stay with a lovely view and friendly service. - The sea view was beautiful and very relaxing, especially waking up to the sound of the ocean. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was good for a short stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant. The room was quite small, which limited space for luggage. There was also no bar fridge in the room, which would have been useful for drinks or snacks. Some minor updates could improve the overall comfort.

Asiphe (9/5): Worth the visit - Beautiful lodge, beach access and the deck is great, very friendly staff. The heated pool is the main pool and temperature is unpleasant so was not able to enjoy it, the cooler pool is small and can get took crowded as a result.

The smell of the unit & no aircon The steps down to bedroom! Cushions were really very old & disgusting! The high chairs in kitchen were awful! Other residents making noise. !!!😡😡😡

David (5/5): - Beautiful place. Very friendly staff. Saturday morning when we wanted to have breakfast we were informed that breakfast was not included in our stay. According to the app breakfast was included in our stay and I have paid the extra amount to include breakfast. We waited for 30 minutes for this to be confirmed, with the waiter having to take photos of my reservation on my phone to confirm that breakfast was included. This really confused me because the property knows exactly how much their rooms cost for 2 day stay with breakfast included or excluded. A quick check to see how much I paid and it could've been resolved. We ended up feeling like we trying to steal something that I actually paid for. We decided to not have the breakfast and actually returned home the same morning, not completing our stay. I've stayed at many resorts/lodges across SA and this was the first time I've had an experience like this. Someone from the lodge whatsapped me after we left the facility, apologizing about the whole situation which was a little too late in my opinion. Making your guests feel like criminals is really not a way you should run a business. Very disappointing.
Tatum (8/5): - I liked the smooth check in process. The prompt responses of staff with our questions or requests. The facilities as a whole is really well kept and had a really good time. We had room service and I got instantly sick. I can't pinpoint if it was that but it was the only thing I had to eat. Something may have not agreed with me.
