Guest Reviews
- Eli (10/5): We had a wonderful stay here for 3 nights. The place is beautiful, comfortable, and full of charm. The staff were extrem -
- Werner (7/5): - Osoblje izrazito ljubazno i gostoprimivo i voljno pomoći u svako doba dana.
- Kryger (8/5): - Clean, friendly, quiet
- Maryam (3/5): I don’t recommend this to everyone as it had no basic items such a fridge or safe etc. - It’s located in a good area and short distance from the market. It has no TV, no kettle, no Iron, no safe, not even a proper lock for the door, no fridge,
The bathroom was bad, the floor was not clean,
- Oliwia (9/5): -
- Francisco (8/5): -
- Charlotte (8/5): -
- Shiloh (8/5): friendly staff, very pretty riad - friendly staff, very attentive and knowledgeable about the area.
arrived late at night and they met me road the street to walk me to riad.
breakfasts and dinners were very good.
nice rooftop. pillows were very uncomfortable
- Attilio (7/5): - Posizione abbastanza comoda.
- Fredrik (9/5): -
- El Mehdi (10/5): - Le calme
- Niels (6/5): Clean but murky room. Breakfast was uninsipring - uninspriing weak coffee, no fruit or yogurt, no toast.
- Marie-Thérèse (5/5): - La situation du riad.Prix abordable.
- jasmina (8/5): - Walking distance from all the tourist spots. The breakfast was delicious and the staff very nice. You can not reach the front door of the riad by taxi. You need to walk a little around narrow streets. The signs are there and is not a big problem. Our room on the ground floor smelled of mold but it was managable.
- Kangur (6/5): -
- GINO (9/5): -
- Alexandre (9/5): -
- Barthod (10/5): -
- Gordon (10/5): Charming location, lovely accommodations, delicious breakfast and excellent customer service - Nice location in the old city. The accommodations were excellent. Breakfast was delicious. Omar met us on our arrival, told us the does and don’t of visiting Marrakech. All of it great advice. I had a lovely time there. It was challenging to find initially but once I figured it out it was alright.
- Elodie (6/5): - Logement correct proche centre ville à pied.
- Bayrem (8/5): Very friendly staff - The staff is very friendly and helpful. The locations very good. It was clean and very nice. The breakfast was good. It has a nice rooftop. Nothing
- Kathleen (6/5): Decent & will not return - Beautiful courtyard. Personable host. Everything was tired.
- Lorenzo (9/5): Very nice & comfortable!! - The riad is cute and confortable, but the staff make the real difference. Thank you for the hospitality.
- John (8/5): Atmospheric place with accommodating staff - The staff were very accommodating. Meeting us at the gate and explaining how not to get lost was great. Breakfast was always fresh and filling and the meal we had on new years eve very tasty. It was a short walk to the souks. Omar even went to buy us a pack of playing cards when we asked if he had any. We had a couple of extra services, such as airport trips and a run into the Atlas Mountains. It wasn't until we left that I was told these needed to be paid in cash. I was not allowed to pay by card. Even though I had paid the riad electronically. This was not helpful. It cleared out the last of my local currency, Euros and Sterling.
It was winter but it was hard to get the room warm and stay warm at night. We made use of the extra blanket and kept the air conditioning on hot.
- Thanaphon (8/5): Amazing - Staff is very nice and friendly. Nice hotel and room Breakfast starts a bit late at 8:30
- Ines (9/5): Would come back - Really enjoyed my night at the Riad. The host was super friendly and helpful. The three course dinner was delicious. No complaints.
- Nicola (8/5): - Owner of the Riad very helpful and kind. The location is a bit inconvenient
- Sophie (10/5): - We could not recommend this Riad more. Omar was the most welcoming host and was so helpful. It really made a big difference to our stay, making us feel really safe and really comfortable. Nothing seemed too much to ask and our experience really would not have been the same without Omar. The property is really well located, within walking distance to the main square. The food and rooms were lovely and offer a great insight into the culture. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome.
- Kock (7/5): Will give a 10+ to the young guy at rhe reception who have giving us a good service - We did LOVE the young guy with his good energy. The frontdesk guy. He was EXCEPTIONAL ::-/
- Patrycja (4/5): Stressful and rather unpleasant stay. Would not recommend. - Clean and spacious courtyard, and pleasant decor. On the first night, we were placed in a room right next to a busy road or internal street, which was very noisy until 4 a.m. The window wasn’t shutting properly, allowing the noise to come in, so we couldn’t sleep at all. We were given a room replacement the next day, and the new room was much quieter. However, both rooms had old and noisy air conditioning units, and there were significant issues with hot water and water pressure in the taps.
We also booked a taxi through the riad, but when we arrived at Marrakesh airport, the taxi driver was not there. We had to contact the owner, unsure if the booking had been forgotten, even though we had confirmed it the day before.
- Natasha (10/5): Brilliant thanks to Hamid! - The property was located very close to the main attractions. Our stay was brilliant, we were looked after by Hamid who was nothing short of excellent, he went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed during our stay. If ever we needed any assistance, he was available day or night, and our time in Marrakech would not have been the same without his help. We can’t thank him enough for all of his hard work, it was an absolute pleasure to stay here and we would not hesitate to recommend this Riad to our friends and family.
- Salam (10/5): Exceptional - The stay in this property was great. The host (Mr Hamid) welcomed us nicely and made the stay comfortable and enjoyable.
I would highly recommend staying in this Riad.
- Germán (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shahanaz (7/5): Good - Umar was an amazing host. He was extremely kind to us, helped us with our bags, looked after our bags when we went to Mergouza and always fed us tea! I wish we were told that we get free water bottles earlier because we spent a lot of money on water. The breakfast was yummy but not much of a variety (had the same food everyday) but maybe because this is the traditional Moroccan breakfast and we aren’t simply used to it. The toilet was broken and it was hard getting hot water. Also was surprised that there wasn’t a bidet and any toothbrush/toothpaste.
- Ailee (6/5): Pleasant - I'm not sure if they overbooked the main riad, but the room we stayed in did not match the pictures at all. In fact, when we first arrived they took us to another place entirely, a different riad with different rooms. We were only staying 1 night and really only using the room to sleep in before our flight the next morning, so there was no point in causing a fuss. I think they knew that they made a mistake with the booking, as they offered us the airport transfer the next day for free. Room was ok, but did not match the pictures as we were not in the main riad. The AC didn't seem to work properly, was on full blast but did not stay cold. I think there is a wiring issue in the room we stayed in, the main lightbulb was blown, and during the night we could see a flash of electricity occasionally when it would short circuit... We tried turning off all the switches, but that didn't seem to help.
- Hassan (7/5): Good -
- Viktoriya (10/5): Thank you - Omar was very helpfull with every detail of our trip. He gided us through the most important places to visit and what to be aware of. The riad was our confort point, with all the necessaire conveniences, air conditioning and a perfect place to rest.
An absolute point to not forget in you trip is to book a dinner in the Riad! We absolutelly loved it, and must give a special thank you for providing us the best marrocan food experience. Also, we enjoyed the breakfast riad provided. Very tasty. Thank you very much Nothing to point
- Noman (9/5): Great. - Very good value for money. The staff was very helpful. Location
- Joel (9/5): Authentic stay with nice staff near the medina. - Riad Shaloma accommodates a couple of rooms and during our stay was managed by about 3 people.
Rooms: The entire accommodation is very traditional and looks gorgeous. The showers, beds, toilets and doors work perfectly. Me and my family were there in the height of summer (July) but it was pleasantly cool due to the air conditioning in the room. Room service is daily.
Location: The riad is about a 10-minute walk from the medina and is therefore pleasantly quiet at night.
Food: The staff prepare delicious Moroccan breakfasts and offer authentic cay throughout the day. If you don't want to go to a restaurant outside, you can have something cooked for you for an extra charge.
Extras:
- You can sunbathe on the roof terrace or just sit in the shade on a couch.
- The staff are extremely helpful; they organized a cheap taxi for us.
- You can always ask for free cold water to drink.
- Takuya (9/5): Good value for price. Worth coming back - The staff was so friendly and helpful. The facility and bathroom were not sophisticated, but they were good enough and understandable for the price. It was good enough to stay and I didn't feel uncomfortable.
- Kim (7/5): Good - Omar was very friendly and helpful with booking tours. Provided map direction back to riad. First day out of riad, make sure to bring the business card with directions back to front door as google maps will bring you to back door which no key is provided.
Big Moroccan breakfast included. Bathroom sinks have a slow drainage issue. Bathroom in the middle of 2nd floor was dark and grayish drab color. I booked another room after my desert 2 day 1 night excursion. My 2nd room is in the 2nd floor corner. That bathroom had a window and was brighter (painted yellow).
Google maps shows location to the riad's back door. If you use Google maps to get back to Shaloma search for "Riad Des Etoiles" which is the riad next to Shaloma's front door. Or take a picture of the little business card with the map route back to Shaloma (or bring it with you). It will guide you back to the front door, which you will have a key to the riad.
- Mohammad (10/5): Exceptional - The host omar was fantastic very helpful
- Roberta (10/5): Exceptional - Omar was really so nice and kind. He was very helpful in every aspect of our stay

- Mohammad (10/5): Excellent customer service by Omar and Hameed - Customer service was great
Omar and Hameed were very friendly and helpful
Omar and Hameed both came to receive us from outside the old town wall where hotel shuttle had dropped us
Hotel shuttle driver Hisham was also very friendly
Omar showed us how to get to important historical sites
Hameed served us very delicious traditional breakfast
- Gabor (9/5): Traditional riad with excellent customer service in the Mellah district - Riad Shaloma is traditional riad in south part of Marrakesh. The guys who run the place are incredible and they are always do their best to make sure you have the best experience. If you need any advice ask the guys and they will give you the best advices. The place is cute and always super clean. the breakfast is cooked fresh every day and make sure you eat dinner at least once in the riad as the the lady who prepares the food makes amazing dishes. We dined in twice. Thanks again guys for all your support when we had some trouble. It is quite difficult to find the riad especially at night. Mellah area is like a labyrinth of tiny streets which can get quiet dark during the evenings.
- Stephen (8/5): Perfect long weekend break - Soufianne and Omar made us feel very welcome and helped out where needed. Amazing breakfast. Top points to the lovely friendly lady in the kitchen. Perfect location, quiet area and in walking distance to a lot of the attractions. Having to leave.
- Asbaadh (8/5): Very good - The rooms were clean and spacious and a good breakfast was served. It’s 15-20 minutes from the airport and within walking distance to many locations within the medina. Omar was really helpful and gave us directions and helpful tips to navigate the city.
- Liesje (10/5): Perfect and Nice People - Omar is the best! Everything we asked he helped us with. He even shows us how to make marrocan tea. Also thé woman is very Nice. Thé food is very good. Thé rooms are Nice. A Nice terras on thé roof. And it's perfect located, not to far from thé centrum, only 10 min walking, but far enough to have no noise. When we ever come back we take for sure the same riad. And all our thanks to Omar. Nothing
- Zeynep (10/5): Exceptional - Omar did everything best and possible timbale us feel safe and good.
- Tjaša (10/5): Exceptional - Staff exceeded our expectations. Omar was great, he gave us all informations we needed about our stay and about the city. 10/10 experience
- Rajab (10/5): Exceptional - Omar was very welcoming and communicated very well, by good English speaking.
He.look after us very well wirh a good breakfast in the morning. Always asked i .everything was ok.
Just.need a bidet for the toilet, as Muslims wash with water. Customer care.
Good breakfast
Peaceful
- Sandra (6/5): - The rooms are nice and clean,15 minutes walking to the shops. The evening before we left we paid €15 for the taxi to the airport at the reception. The next morning we couldnt find nobody at the reception or somewhere else in the Riad and there was no breakfast. Not a nice way to end a great time in beautiful Marrakech.
- Margarita (3/5): Poor - N/A The tours isn’t a real tours , they push you to Shopping
- Imran (9/5): Fantastic Riad in the heart of Marrakesh - Nice little Riad in the Madina area, a short walk to the main square. The staff were friendly and helpful both Mohammed and Soufianne. Lovely breakfast served every morning, also we were due to leave for the airport early morning and they made a packed breakfast for us which was really nice of them. Rooms were nice and spacious.
- Tianying (9/5): Superb - it’s very quiet and peaceful comparing to other riad.
big room space.
the staff are helpful
the Wi-Fi is really fast it’s a little hard to find and the route on google map doesn’t arrive the front gate.
- Luis (4/5): Disappointing facilities and not taken care of, looks past its expiry date. - Air-conditioned room. The Riad does not correspond with how it is advertised in the pictures (see attached photos). The courtyard was covered and bland. The rooftop terrace was dirty, the sunchairs old and rusted and looked unwelcoming. In general, the facilities were not as advertised. The staff was inattentive. When we arrived at the Riad the staff was asleep and had to be woken up by the kitchen lady. Throughout our stay at the Riad, the staff was frequently asleep, even during the day and especially during the afternoons and we had to wake them up. We left the Riad a day earlier as we did not feel comfortable there.
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional - Unique atmosphere and great service.
- Pablo (4/5): Loveless, badly managed Riad for an exaggerated price. - the yard was nice and it had a terrace stuff could not speak good English and it was hard to communicate. Beds were old and uncomfortable. The room was airless, because there were only indoors windows and a plastic foil on the top of the building. breakfast was always late, cause the guy didn’t bother to wake up in time. The whole place was basically run by the cleaning lady, who made everything. Dinner was oily and expensive. I would not recommend this place .
- Carolin (10/5): As a solo female traveler, I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay! - The Riad itself is beautiful and clean, and the staff is just amazing. For my well-being, they have outdone themselves! I arrived late at night (01:30 am) due to a flight delay. The hotel owner, and Mohammed, responsible for the check-in, welcomed me warmly despite the late hour and even made sure that I could still eat something warm! They have been really flexible as well with the airport transport and could arrange everything for me last minute.
I was given travel and safety tips by the staff, and everyone was always courteous and had a smile on their face. The food was excellent (a big thank you to the nice kitchen lady) and was easy to order via Whatsapp. I really had many questions and requests, and all were treated warmly and courteously. Communication was easy and delightful, English, French, Arabic...many languages are spoken here. Thanks to the family atmosphere in the hotel I felt very comfortable and will be happy to come back! Thank you again, I really appreciate your efforts.
- Caroline (7/5): ok for a few days but no longer . I didn’t like the breakfast and it was wastfull as you were not asked what you liked . - The property was clean / central no one around for any assistance. only the lady who cooked breakfast and she didn’t speak English
- Matthew (6/5): Pleasant - The staff were nice and the breakfast was yummy. A little bit of fruit or a savoury option would have been lovely, but it was fine.
The location is good with easy access to the main squares (about 15 min. from the main square). No early breakfast offered and most trips outside Marrakech start early. Only offered breakfast from 8.
The dinner price at the Riad was too expensive compare to other local prices.
We were told we couldn't pay by card because the machine wasn't working, but when we said we didn't have any cash, it magically started working.
- Rossespo (9/5): Superb -
- Amira (7/5): Good -
- Ingrid (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lukas (8/5): Very good -
- Carol (7/5): Good -
- Jayati (8/5): Toubkal and Marrakesh - Cosy, comfortable, safe. Absolutely sufficient for our stay as we were hiking the mountains and needed a place to rest up / sleep before and after!
- Paulina (8/5): Very good - The owner has been incredibly helpful and showed us the way to the most interesting spots in the area. Best to contact them beforehand to meet you and pick you up to avoid wandering in between the alleys. This is what we've done and they were more than happy to meet us in a central spot and walk us to the Riad.
- Arend (10/5): Fantastic stay with great hospitality - Ahmed is a fantastic host. He gives a lot of good tips and is personnally taking care.
- Ragnheidur (9/5): Riad Shaloma is a wonderful place with extremely nice staff. Close to Medina center. - Riad Shaloma is a wonderful place. Staff is nice and relaxed and ready to assist in every way. They organized a taxi from the airport. Since the streets are so narrow that taxis are not able to get to the door, the manager met us at the taxi stop and very carefully showed us the signs that led to the riad to make sure we wouldn´t get lost later on. They served us delicious dinners and breakfasts. Also organized mountain tours. Thank you very much Ahmed and staff.
- Jayati (8/5): Toubkal Hiking - Comfy Riad Shaloma - Safe, friendly and cosy riad in the old town - walking distance to the main square and the hustle and bustle. Cars can't drive all the way to the riad (as is the case with most riads in the old city) so sometimes, carrying bags in / out was a challenge.
- David (10/5): Excellent stay at the heart of Marrakech's old town - The riad is very beautiful and clean, and we were very well received by the host, which speaks great English. The rooms follow suit, very clean and comfortable, with AC.
Breakfast was included and is very satisfactory.
Before leaving we figured we needed to print boarding passes for our flight, and the host offered to print it for us, great hospitality all-around. The only aspect that wasn't the best, was the access to the riad, which can only be done by navigating a few narrow streets on foot. The way has signs so you won't get lost, but at times it was a bit tiring to find out way back after exploring the city.
- Thomas (9/5): Superb - Lovely owner. Very helpful. Beautiful Riad. Nice showet. Great location. I liked everything
- Markku (10/5): Excellent - This guesthouse is behind narrow paths, so that taxis can't come infront of it. You have to walk 200 metres, follow signs.
- Roy (9/5): Perfect place in Malah. - Very nice place, nicely located in the Jewish quarter. Everything was great and especially the staff, and particularly Ahmed which spoke perfect English and was kind and helpful.
- Poona (10/5): Excellent - The Riad is very stylish which you can see they have put a lot of efforts. And the room is big, nice and super clean. We like the style of the bathroom . They even do room service for us. Breakfast is very nice too, and roof top is a good place to chill at night.
And the staff are helpful too, the manager Ahmed is an intelligent nice guy to talk to, who has a big vision of life and value, we enjoyed the conversation with him a lot.
Highly recommended. For a Riad the soap should be nicer
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
