- Tammy (10/5): Wonderful experience! - Stayed here two nights with my son and would definitely recommend it. The beds were super comfy and the a/c was cold. The water pressure was great with no shortage of hot water. Yes, it's an older property but the owners keep the grounds and rooms meticulous. This is a family run business who go above and beyond to make sure your stay is as perfect as possible. I took time to chat with a couple of the family members. They are a lovely family who've been in the community for several decades and take pride in their establishment. Thank you for making our trip extra special!
- Liana paola (10/5): -
- Robert (9/5): clean, comfortable and in our budget - It was clean, provided all the essentials we needed, It was a reasonable price, staff very nice and helpful. Can't say there was anything wrong

- Alex (4/5): - The room was not very clean but the beds were comfortable. The bathroom is tiny and there is nowhere to put your toiletries
- Janice (10/5): - The owner's super friendly..room was clean. Bathroom a little on the smaller side but very clean
- richard (8/5): Our accommodation at Blue Jay Motel was comfortable, clean and very good value for money. - Our room at the Blue Jay Motel was comfortable, clean and very conveniently located to all the places we needed to visit in Peterborough (Trent University, The Canadian Canoe Museum, a restaurant for dinner and a grocery store). Very comfortable linen on the beds, good water pressure in the shower, coffee maker and supplied coffee made a lovely cup of coffee, fridge with little freezer worked well and I appreciated being able to turn the air conditioner on and set it to our perfect room temperature. I liked that we could park our car right outside our room. Despite the motel being right on a busy road, you don't hear the traffic noise when inside your room. It isn't fancy accommodation, but it has everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The motel reception could be made more attractive and welcoming by removing all the stuff that's being stored in there. It looks messy and lets the rest of the property down. We did however get a very nice welcome by the motel owner/manager.
- Deborah (10/5): The blue jay is now on my speed dial comfortable, affordable and amazing owners - Absolutely love the owners 😊 kindest people by far and look forward to future stays It’s our on the road home away from home ❤️
- Jim (6/5): - The bathroom sink faucet was stiff and when pushed spewed black gunk.
- Gail (8/5): - The staff was very friendly & helpful. The rooms where very clean
- Potapczyk (10/5): Affordable, comfy and clean - That it was clean and comfortable, staff were very friendly Honestly nothing
- karen (8/5): Ice machine? - Trans Canada LOUD. Maybe earplugs should be suggested? And chiselling frost from owner freezer is not really ice. Ok for the price.
- Sheila (8/5): - Okay
- Nancy (8/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): Canada Tour - The motel was clean and renovated, with very comfortable beds and pillows. Despite being on the road, there was no noise. The friendliness of the staff was particularly appreciated.
- Tony (9/5): -
- Ross (8/5): - Good value for the price
- Jamie (6/5): - A bit dingy. But if you need a spot, its a spot?
- Julia (10/5): - The place is a little run down looking but the staff were terrific and friendly, the room clean and had everything i needed. it was quiet and safe. I would not hesitate to stay here again when traveling thru Peterborough
- David (9/5): A great value for what you are paying for. - The location is just outside of Peterborough, this helps keeps the price low. The grounds were relaxing and places to sit outside were a bonus. The owner operator of the motel provided cold bottles of water on our arrival, that's a bonus. The rooms also had bottled water, when you stay at a high-end hotel bottled water isn't free. I chatted with the owners, and they are very friendly. I don't smoke and all the rooms had chairs outside, which is nice, but they have ashtrays since it's a no smoking motel. Smoking outside is great except that your neighbor smokes one door down and you can't use the screen door or open the window for fresh air when people smoke. The hotel is older and met my expectations but the bed for me wasn't the most comfortable.
- Merrick (10/5): - The staff were very friendly. Room was.clean & comfortable. No noise from neighbors. All around a good stay. Would repeat & did for a second night. Bit pricey
- Julie (9/5): -
- Paul (10/5): - Older rooms but clean
- Dale (7/5): Good -
- Deborah (10/5): We loved our stay so much we’ve booked 2 more weekends at the Blue Jay 😊 - Such a peaceful place to stay , was a very comfortable and a great place to rest after 2 very long working days thank you 😊 Absolutely no complaints 👍🏻
- Kim (6/5): Price = stay, loved the new fridge .. - Good value The toilet paper 🧻
The owners should buy decent TP
It was the worst !!!
No place to plug in.. only a power bar near tv
- Petra (4/5): Disappointing - Moldy smell. Insects on the floor and even under a pillow.
- Julie (6/5): Pleasant - The staff were lovely, couldn’t be more helpful. Gave us lots of bottled water on a hot day. The room was very clean. Felt safe there. Was good for an overnight stay. I didn’t dislike anything particularly. It is just a very old and tired hotel.
- Finlayson (3/5): Poor - Not much The owner was very nosy.
Toilet was already plugged on my first attempt to use the washroom.
He then it instructed me to come get the plunger and plunge the toilet myself.
And then tried to withhold my $100 deposit that I was never even informed about
- John (8/5): - An older motel, but it has all the basics, clean room, friendly and helpful staff. The price was very reasonable.
- Ian (7/5): Good - Nice welcome from the owner. Room was very clean. Suited our purpose of an overnight stay whilst on a road trip.
- Sharon (8/5): Very good -
- Jillian (8/5): Dated rooms, but clean. - The staff was great. Great greeting upon arrival and attentive to our needs. Location was great for us too. We expected a lower end feel and dated room, but were surprised by how clean it was. The room was dated and could use a face lift. There was also a strong smell of cleaning products and a bit of dampness in the air.
- Christine (3/5): Dirty old and worn out - Very friendly staff, offered us cold water when we arrived. Orher than that, nothing The property needs some serious TLC. Dirty carpets, old yellowing bed linens, old lumpy mattress, unsafe electrical, old peeling paint, etc etc!
- Paula (2/5): - Only stayed 2 nights. The 1st room they gave me was like something out of Psycho movie. Bathroom waa falling apart and dirty. Lamps with bulbs and no shades. Wood floors that were uneven.
After complaining they said any room you want..we give you best room..etc. i needed a place to stay and the room was unmmm barely tolerable but as i was only goung to be there to crash at night and leave early in the AM i decided to grin and bear it. It says AC but it is old window AC units that barely function. Beds hard as a rock. Limited to no lighting in room. Honestly do yourself a favor and don't even consider staying here. People were friendly as they could be but that doesn't make up for the condition of the motel.
- Bonnie (10/5): - It was clean and comfortable and very friendly owners.
- Maurie (6/5): Nice people, tired accommodation. - Very nice staff. Needs an update.
- Anthony (7/5): Serviceable Motel for Overnight Stay - - Serviceable Motel for Overnight Stay
- Pleasant staff who try hard - Requesting for the room heat to be turned on
- Rooms are a little old and tired
- No desk or small table to set up games, sit at to drink coffee, or play cards
- John (10/5): My day was relaxing and refreshing because of the excellent services in place. - The location is super notch top, especially for car/vehicle drivers. I like the proximity to the major road.
I also like the way the members of staff knocked on the door and ask if there was anything we needed get done.
The customer services/relations were very nice, respectful, and welcoming Everything was just excellent!
- Bois (10/5): Exceptional -
- Doug (10/5): - Enjoyed my stay. The shower didn’t work the best, but I got by.
- Norm (10/5): - exceeded our expectations, will stay there again for sure.
- Amanda (9/5): Superb -
- Jakob (2/5): The water is not complimentary - It was somewhat quiet and clean but dated. For my two night stay, "Housekeeping" cleaned out the contents of my fridge the first morning, including my leftovers & "complimentary water" as if I my stay was over.
- David (10/5): Excellent - Staff and motel good Customer service
- Keith (5/5): You get what you pay for. - Very basic, but clean. Probably a bit overpriced.
- Velvet (8/5): Very good -
- Samir (2/5): Very poor - Dirty and smell bad
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional - Strong shower.
- Asif (10/5): Exceptional -
- Derek (8/5): Nothing fancy - this is a friendly , welcoming , basic motel that gives you a clean, quiet room for a good price. - Owner is very nice and friendly .We were offered complementary water on checking . Nothing really.
- Shaun (7/5): Good -
- James (6/5): - Things were generally okay considering it’s a low cost motel. The couple at the front desk were very friendly. Only criticism I could offer was that the two bars of soap in the shower looked as if a mouse had taken a bite out if them. No complaints about our stay otherwise.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ralph (7/5): Okay for last minute stay -
- ADELE (8/5): - Good basic accommodation. Comfortable beds. Great fridge.
- JORDON (10/5): - Very friendly and courteous owner
- Logan (8/5): - Nice place, was reasonably quiet and the staff was awesome and accommodating for my boat. Only thing was the pillows were rock hard.
- Ben (7/5): Good - Owner was nice. Place is a bit run down.
- Lynda (8/5): We enjoyed our stay in the area. Easy to get to and easy to get to the city to participate in its many historical events - The property was easy to get to. Very clean and comfortable.
- Emma (8/5): Very good -
- Randal (10/5): we would come back again and tell our friends about it - we were very pleased with accomidation every thing we needed was there and the staff was very friendly nothing
- Paul (2/5): Very poor - The room was clean, but the door did not seal, so cold air came in the room all night and we were cold, there were no extra blankets. The motel needs some serious renovation.
- Faye (6/5): Room is small, but clean. Had fridge and microwave which was helpful. Good location. Family owners were nice -
- Robert (6/5): Pleasant - I'm close to everything. Not much to say on this.
- Ishai (10/5): - The staff were very kind and the room was affordable and clean.
- Potvin (8/5): Very good - This motel was quite, And the Staff were very kind..
- Saman (9/5): A good place to stay for travelers. - No breakfast. Good location and close to the city center.

- Lowtee (7/5): Good - Owner was pleasant and welcoming
- Jennifer (9/5): Welcoming - Very accommodating. Very welcoming lady at the office.
- Bradford (2/5): - Room was dirty. AC was plugged into an extension cord (unsafe). Bathroom toilet seat was not clean, dirt in the bathtub/shower.
- Nikolas (10/5): GREAT - Outstanding staff N/A
- drew (2/5): - owner is a dick..
- Gemma (6/5): Pleasant - Staff were friendly, beds were comfortable enough Netflix was blocked on the TV, the water tastes awful, bring lots of bottled water, if you make coffee from the tap water it tastes awful
- Brett (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were very hospitable and made sure to personally come to roo to to check to be sure we were comfortable upon check-in and happy with stay upon departure. N/A
- Anne (6/5): Roadside motel met our needs - The owners kindly checked on us to be sure that we had enough water and coffee.I suggest that you get extra water as the tap water doesn't taste good. The refrigerator is large, with a freezer, which is great if you bring food and freezer packs on your trip.
- Daniele (10/5): - Facilities were fine. Staff was polite and courteous. Good place to stop by while on a long road trip.
- John (6/5): - Noisy neighbours. No enforcement
- Elena (8/5): Very good - Good clean room. Taste of the water was not good. We made a tea but couldn’t drink it. You can not use at the same time microwave and AC,we did not know and lost power in the room. But thanks to owner, it was restored fast.
- Dean (8/5): Very good - Very friendly folks. Comfy bed. Lotsa hit water.
