• Hall (10/5): This was a great day and even though I wasn’t able to stay as long as I would have liked, it would still be a place that - This was a great property to stay out even if it was just for 14 hours. The young lady that checked me in late in the evening around 11:30 at night was one of the most helpful front desk agents I’ve ever encountered. She not only needs a raise, but she needs to be given her flowers. Great job and well done. That there were no laundry rooms in between floors. So, if there were a way to put a laundry room with three washers and three dryers, it would be nice and it wouldn’t have to be on every single floor but maybe every other floor or maybe every three floors. It would also be nice to have a filtered water machine to a lot of people to get fresh water in the middle of the night instead of having to go all the way downstairs to the exercise room to get water.

• Moustafa (1/5): Rude and unhospitable front desk staff - Good location Front desk staff wer every rude. Not all of them, the checkin man was lovely. The checkout guy was super super super rude. I asked to store my carry on. When I went to collect it he asked me to do it myself. I went into the room to grab it and saw a small garbage 1m further into the room so I walked towards it to throw a tissue, he started shouting at me asking me to grab my bag and leave. Very unhospitable, for staff that is working in hospitality. This is not the military. Please train him to be respectful towards customer this is a hotel it’s supposed to be hospitable.

• Eddie (4/5): This is by far the worst hotel I have stayed in on my travels. - I saw one person behind the check in counter, who was working the Tuesday afternoon. He was very straight, professional, and helpful. He was the only one. Others didn't seem to care much. The bed was too close to the floor, hard to get in and out being disabled. The room was dusty. The cafe and restaurant were advertised as separate, but they're not. The cosmopolitan look does not work. There were not any tables or anything to call it a restaurant.
• Paola (5/5): - Very well located, easy to book and cheap compared to other stays in the same area. Mattress, sheets, covers and pillows are clean and comfortable. The room is overall dirty. I’ve been there many years ago and it was a delightful stay, the place was new and clean. However, it feels like no maintenance or deep cleaning have been performed lately, as there is visible dirty almost everywhere in the room - including the air conditioning system and moldy shower curtains.

Great if you just need a place to sleep for cheap. - The location, the price in relation to neighboring hotels I would have liked to have known ahead of time that soap was not provided. The bar was too crowded. Most of the fixtures in the room were damaged in one way or another. The carpet and furniture were very dirty/stained. I had low expectations as I was traveling with a friend and we just needed a place to sleep. Had I booked this for my family for a vacation, I would have been disappointed.

Iffy electric plugs, bit of used markes here and there, slow elevators. It’s a hostel but overall great value.

Disposa de molts serveis com caixer per treure diners i té una maquina de fer fotos a l’entrada de lhotel per emportar-se un regal ideal! Els llims acollidors que tenen a les habitacions son una mica justos per il·luminar bé. La nostra habitació era sorollosa però estavem tant cansats que ni ens vem enterar mentre dormiem. • Abigail (3/5): Frustrating - The location is good, close to Magnificent mile and a good time of walk to other touristy spots. First of all, the property is old (which we understand). However, a stay here with no air conditioning AT ALL inside their very small room plus the high temperature of the city felt very suffocating and extremely uncomfortable, we came here to relax but the opposite thing happened. We asked for options (other room, fan, alternative) after being in the room for 10 mins, none was given. Staff said that they’ll be bringing up a fan, but 4 hours after, still no fan. We called the desk again, they said that they don’t have fans anymore and we better open the windows to help with the hot temperature- the windows can’t be open either. The rudeness of the staff didn’t help, cutting off my partner every time she wastalking, and one of the staff even said that it was not their fault that the hotel’s system is on heating mode at the moment (bec it’s spring) [mind you, the temp in Chicago ranged from 50-74 F, it felt hotter than these numbers for sure], and that they cannot do something about it, then they didn’t let my partner speak and passed the phone to another rude staff member. After maybe 5 minutes of them saying that they don’t have fans anymore, someone knocked on the door with a fan on their hand. The hotel’s amenities clearly listed air conditioning, so it honestly shouldn’t be advertised if they can’t provide it to their guests. Very disappointing. Not to mention, there was a very foul odor coming from either the carpet or the bathroom. If we hadn’t been attending a concert that night, we would have left and booked another hotel, but the circumstances were different. Do better and treat people nicely.
• Pinju (4/5): Things are rundown - Location is awesome. I used to love this place, but this time I feel like it hasn’t been maintained well. First, the AC in my room didn’t work and the whole room felt like a sauna and smelled like mold. Then the curtains of my bed were missing, and my outlets didn’t work. I was only there for a short time and was too tired to report these problems, but I’m not coming back again.

We went into our room and could smell it in there. We requested a room change, which was given with an eye roll. Also learned that there is no AC even though there’s a split unit on the wall. The bed was decent and hopefully clean, while the walls and couch were questionable. I felt deceived by other reviews. I would never stay here again.

• B.Fred (8/5): Good location, okay rooms - Great location, friendly staff Room was a bit sparse compared to some others at the property, only beds and lockers with no space to sit or anything else. Bathroom door is a big sliding one so it doesn't close properly and you get fart smells escaping.

Also for solo female travellers not recommended to share mixed room if they are the only woman, theres a casino nearby, maybe some guests are drinkers. Would change to an all female specifically in this hostel
