- Lopez (8/5): Very good though not great - The location is great and breakfast better than expected. The rooms were clean but more worn down than pictures predict. Also the dog fee is ~2x more if not booking directly with hotel.

- David (9/5): - The room was big. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was tasty. The transition from the room to the bathroom is a trip hazard. My wife and I both tripped multiple times. The lighting over the kitchenette is inadequate. Couldn't see what we were doing trying to make coffee. The door to the room next door was sticking or something, requiring it to slam shut. The girl that checked us in, Cici I think her name was, didn't seem to even recognize me 5 min. later, when I came back to the office with a question.

- John (10/5): A real gem of a travel motel in Salida - This renovated mid-century motel was impeccably, clean, staffed by polite and responsive workers. Such a pleasure to see the breakfast buffet staffed by a woman who was genuinely interested in her work and her customers. Our back window framed a field with white-capped mountains in the distance and a quintet of deer placidly munching the spring vegetation. We wholeheartedly recommend this motel and plan on making it our regular Salida lodging destination in the future.

Super clean room with nice decor touches, fridge, microwave and Keurig. Breakfast is included and is outstanding in its offerings. Staff are friendly and professional, special shout-out to Cece who provided us with excellent instructions for a late check-in. Great value for money.

I was lucky enough to have quiet neighbors so it was a very peaceful stay. Also, very thankful for a dog friendly motel. And a really nice nearby country road to take the dog for a walk on. - Carolyn (5/5): - Location is great with easy access to trails and downtown Salida. Restaurants are nearby, within walking distance. Staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed here several years ago and remembered it being super clean and having a cool retro feel. I believe it is under new management and standards have changed. The room we were assigned to had a broken bathroom door frame where it looked like someone had kicked it in and the bathroom shower needed a deep clean. It would be nice if there was something other than white bread or bagels for breakfast, maybe a whole grain or whole wheat option?

Loved the Dove & Mrs Meyers stuff- wonderfully fragrant without overpowering you. Fluffy towels too! Bed very comfy & pillows to die for! Lots of coffee & even creamer in the fridge! Heater in the Bathroom was very effective. The Host was very personable & helpful. Nice location & excellent wifi. Liked the key-less door-lock system. Felt like an AirBnB! And the lights outside the rooms around the whole place was also a plus. Breakfast served too! but I had to leave early. Overall, a VERY nice surprise for a small-sized town! Thanks so much! nothing really.
- Kristine (5/5): Nice stay for the area. - We booked the most expensive rooms at the lodge hoping for a nice stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable and very spacious. Our room was close to the road and there was road noise all night. The breakfast area was lackluster. The food OK. This is a motel trying to be a hotel. Just be aware of that. However, it is probably one of the better stays o\in Salida.

We stayed in two different rooms on two different nights, they were each immaculate and well provisioned in terms of refrigerator microwave Keurig coffee maker. Thoughtful additions like a little salt and pepper and paper plates. If you bring food in it’s nice. The beds feel new, in the shower was great. Breakfast is solid. Definitely would stay there again.

They have a sauna, and the rooms are very well maintained.. for the money, It is easily one of the best values out there.. The breakfast was very respectful simple but good.. The staff was respectful, friendly and helpful..

- Deborah (8/5): - Room was laid out well. Bed was cozy and the linens wonderful. Plenty of hot water for showers. Overall room was clean and tidy. Limit on K-Cups per reservation or an additional charge per cup. Of the 4 cups per reservation included flavored varieties (2 of the 4) which are undesirable to us. We did have some up stair noise till late at night.

Staff, friendly and breakfast wasa bit different, meaning it was very good compared to other hotels. No complaints. When we have no complaints, you have done your job well.

- Brad (8/5): - Room was clean with updated fixtures and a very large refrigerator. Even though it was right off the main highway into Salida I didn't notice much road noise. Didn't like the 18 repetitive emails from Bookings that I kept getting after making the reservation. Room was a little cold due to the rather old heater/air conditioner unit.

- Kinsey (7/5): Sweet little motel right off the strip~ Value! - The staff is amazing and the breakfast is good for free and easy! The people above us were running around and knocking things off of our ceiling and walls, but they stopped when we banged on the ceiling. One of the hot tubs was broken so we had to use time slots to use the other working hot tub, which worked out, but I book my hotels based on having a hot tub so it was discouraging to find out when I get there that we don't have freedom to go in the tub... I will have to actually call each hotel to make sure everything is working... anyway, would stay there again, however, make sure hot tubs are working if that is important during your stay! Pet friendly for sure! The hot tub situation...

Yummy hot breakfast and nice dining area. Very pet friendly, they have a nice area to walk dogs. The private hot tub and sauna are the highlight of our stay. The staff are very friendly

- Adam (4/5): Disappointing Hotel Room- Could Be Just This Room or the Whole Hotel - The room was pretty, the price was good for a last minute trip right before on season. The bedsheets were very scratchy, and while I am not certain there were bed bugs, I lived in another country that had them, and I felt very similar after waking up. The reviews were glowing on booking, and while those might be legitimate, it was hard to see this as a 9.1 rated property. While the staff was helpful, it was strange to walk to the office, have the father of one person call his son, and then the son come over from a different room each time I had a question. At 115 am, there was some sort of rodent or animal inside the walls near the bathroom seemingly digging down to the bathroom, although it did not get through. I did report this to the office as we checked out, but it is worth mentioning here. Overall, I was hoping for more from a place that reviewed so well.
