Guest Reviews
- Fiona (10/5): - I found Muriana to be a very helpful and kind manager at Sanukasa. I left some property there and he was extremely helpful in getting it back to me.
The property and facilities are quite basic, but the pool and hut is clean and you are in a great location.
Thank you.
- Maryke (8/5): - Such a fantastic location and super friendly staff. Not suitable if you have mobility issues as the stairs/ladder to get to the bedroom would be difficult.
- Aleksandar (10/5): Highly recommended - This place can easily be recommended. The staff were beyond helpful even when we had some delays on our trip. The bungalows was very pleasant.
- Ian (6/5): - Lots of hot water great staff need improvement not 8.2 very miss leading
- Melissa (8/5): - Fantastic location and so nice to stay in more traditional style accommodation. There was loads of beautiful frangipani trees, palms and a grassed area in the centre which really made it. On site manager was so lovely.
I found a few mixed reviews around before our stay, so Ill try and help. The name "luxury" may be misleading for some. Or if anyone's not stayed in a thatched roof style room before. Keep in mind the nature of the room design and the very reasonable price, and expect a stay that Id say in my experience is at a good homestay or surf camp level. Youll have everything you need. Not theres not been much maintenance in a while. But its clean, has aircon, is pretty and green, has a shady pool and a friendly host. Easy walk down to the beach (youre directly in line with Indiana Kenanga).
We will be back! Maybe longer next time.
Stayed as a small family, 2 adults and a 4year old.
Sampai jumpa lagi!
- Jay (2/5): -
Came to Lembongan for a 4 nights stay, and ended up leaving Sukanusa after 1 night to find somewhere else, it was that bad.
I arrived to a friendly reception and was given a cold glass of juice which was nice to arrive to. Unfortunately, this is where the pleasantries ended.
When I arrived at my room my heart dropped. It looked a bit run down and was simply an empty room with no other furniture or fittings other than the bed, a safe and a few power sockets - 1 of which with a lamp plugged into it as the only form of light for the room, so even in the middle of the day, the room is so dark that you need to use a torch to see things in the room such as what’s in your luggage.
I went down to the bathroom and felt ill at the sight and smell of it. The drains to the shower and sink were filthy and a little clogged, and the walls had mould all over them; so much so that I could smell it the moment I walked in, and there was some questionable brown splatter on the toilet roll holder.
If this wasn’t enough to turn me away, all night and from the moment I woke, all I could smell was cigarette smoke from my chain smoking neighbour, due to the fact that the bedroom isn’t sealed, with visible gaps between the wood that make the very thin walls, the smoke seeped into my room and it was suffocating.
Avoid this place at all costs.
- Jaqueline (10/5): - Absolutely awesome place. Friendly staff and so relaxing. Wasn’t expecting much considering the price but had such a beautiful holiday there.
- Rory Robert (10/5): - Lovely grounds and in a quiet area close to everything you might need for your stay. Very helpful and kind staff!
- martin (6/5): - great stay but no fridge in room to keep drinks cool, no kettle either
- Hubertus (8/5): - It is a very nice place. Your own hut in a private garden. There ar no windows in the hut. Only in the door. So it is dark inside. Only 1 lamp. Could some more light.
- Ian (8/5): - Lovely stay in 2 huts , air con went in one but hotel sorted immediately. Great location , lovely people, great value for money , the lamberts Bristol
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Struttura in posizione fantastica sull’isola.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staffs are really friendly.
- Stephane (6/5): - Sanitaires à refaire. Chambre propre
Ustensiles petit dej pas toujours nikel
- Sofia (8/5): Amazing staff - Good location, staff were super friendly and helpful and the hut were comfortable. The only negative thing was that noices from outside came trough the walls.
- Romain (6/5): Raw local huts in Lembongan - If you look for a special way to stay in Lembongan, this is for you. If you you like quietness and cleanliness, this is not.
- Anne (8/5): Pleasant stay on Lembongan island - Walking distance to all my favourite places along jungabatu beach. Not beachfront but cut through the side opening at indiana kecana. Which was just opposite sukanusa. My hut had aircon. I saw some huts with tiny pool/ jacuzzi in its backyard. Sleep was on the upper deck. Toilet at the lower deck. Front gate to each hut was open. Felt safe. But one evening the dog sneaked in and slept on the porch! No issues with that. Room a little dark but being energy saving , i guess no need to turn on too many lights or carry your own reading light.Front desk staff friendly and chatty. Breakfast was simple with three options- eggs, pancakes or indonesian style fried rice or noodles. It is around 20 minute walk to the Deck ( past the rocky boat pickup) .. taxi on the island rather expensive . From the shops near rocky fast boat area back to sukanusa. idr 150, 000 after bargaining on a rainy day.
less
- Daniel (10/5): Great bungalows - Staff are amazing they organise cheap day trips and give good recommendations
Bungalows are super cute, ours had a private pool which was amazing
Only issues (which others have already said) are the dim rooms and the occasional power cuts
Other than that it was 10/10
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful staff, would stay again - I wish I was able to stay here longer. The staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond. I forgot my wallet and was almost on the boat to head back to Bali and the staff not only found my wallet, but sent it over to the docking area just in time. The bed was huge and comfortable. You also can’t beat the location.
- Linda (8/5): good value and location - Lovely local style rooms and nice pool In a good location one road over from the main beach. this is near lots of places to eat and drink plus mini mart scooter rental and a dive shop. Rooms close to the road suffer from traffic noise and the local dogs bark all night and when they quieten down the cockerels start so request a room at the back. Breakfast is good but the service is slow if you are heading out on a trip or dive. If you scuba dont miss the Toyakapah wall-( most trips will take you there - to penida) its the best spot to dive
- Laura (10/5): Highly recommended! - Loved this! Great location, friendly staff, and the hut was very clean and so cozy! If i had to give one minus, it would be the amount and location of the power outlets (only 2 per hut and one occupied by the lamp, both behind the bed so we had to move it to be able to access them). However that didn't really bother us.
- Verified traveler (8/5): great stay ! - We had a lovely stay, staff was extremely nice and helpful.
Location is perfect, 2 mins from the beach to enjoy the sunset every evening.
Maybe add a floor lamp need to be added in the room as it gets a bit too dark at night.
great value for money anyway.
- Tay (8/5): Central location, nice pool - Bungalows were very cool and the a/c was definitely nice to have. The lighting was rather dim and so had to use our torches at night in the rooms. The rooms were also quite loud and we could here lots of noises most of the night. The pool is very nice and has good sunslight for most of the day and the pools nice and warm. Breakfast was also tasty-would recommend the banana pancakes. There was construction going on so it was quite loud when trying to relax. Overall I would stay again as it is central location with only a 3 minute walk to the beach and the staff are really helpful.
- Teresa (8/5): Great place! - it was a clean very beautiful place...everything was nearby...people were great. .
- Pierre (8/5): Convenient bungalow rooms in Lembongan - Decent bungalows in Lembongan, on par with what you can find in the area and for similar prices. Nothing bad to say about it, nothing particularly good either above and beyond Bali/Lembongan service standards
- Margie (10/5): Bali as it's meant to be. - Zika USA Resort was wonderful.... Almost a treehouse feel with our own private pool that we definitely made great use of. This is the true and authentic Bali. Great places to eat abound and renting a motorcycle will get u all over the island easily... word to the wise -just get back to the hotel before it gets dark... because it gets really dark.. beach is a short walk away and it's lovely. We traveled all over Bali and this was our favorite.
- Cara (10/5): Beautiful Nusa Lembongan - Huts were clean and comfortable, air conditioning was a blessing. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food at the restaurant was delicious, would return!
- martin (6/5): Handy location - Rooms could benefit from fridges and tea and coffee making ability, other than that fairly happy with the accommodation
- Robert (8/5): Fun huts, good location. - Suka Nusa is in a great spot, short walk to the beach and lots of good cafes/restaurants nearby. Staff were really helpful and happy to assist booking scooters, organising laundry etc. The only negative scores would be breakfast (after day 1 we just went to some very good nearby cafes) and the lighting in the huts is very poor. But I enjoyed our stay and would go back.
- Chelsea (6/5): Cute bungalow, incredibly boring island. - While the bungalows were indeed adorable, my overall stay on the island was terribly boring. The food on the entire island is awful - plus, there is really nothing to do, save for a few tiny beaches that are not safe to swim in due to rip tides. I met several other travelers who felt the same. I wish this hotel were in a part of Bali with spunk!
Avondeten is prima!
- Patrick (8/5): Cute huts - Nice and tidy property, We started off in room 4 & had to move due to the aircon not working. Impossible to stay in the huts without it!
Staff happily helped out and moved us into a bigger family villa & we had a great stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very good place to stay on Nusa Lembogan.
Friendly. Clean. Good location.
- Carly (10/5): Beautiful spot definitely recommend! - Lovely hotel GREAT STAFF cheap scooters nice breakfast beautiful surroundings and pool good aircon and laundry service. Ok breakfast but we liked Mickeys Bar for food just a few shops down. Beautiful mangrove forrest just minutes away.
- Stanislas (8/5): Good hotel with a private swimming pool - A good simple hotel to stay and explore Nusa Lembongan. thu a bit in the north, so must rent a motorbike to go around the island.
- Kylie (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed - The huts were very impressive with fantastic showers. The location was perfect.
The staff were extremely helpful. Totally enjoyed our stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): Locally owned - Nusa Longbongan is a must see for anyone going to Bali. Turn back the clock on Bali.
The Island itself features diving, surfing, secluded beaches, water activities, restaurants and bars.Great just to kick back and not worry about the hustle and bustle of some of the other areas or grab a bike and explore the area.
The staff at Sukanusa have a great knowledge of the area and its history. They can direct you to beautiful locations or services as you require.
The grounds themselves feature bar, restaurant and pool. The accommodation was nice and a pleasant change from the usual hotel room .
Will go back and revisit at some stage for sure.
- andrew (4/5): Really bad experience - The place is nice, close to the beach and fairly well maintained. We asked hotel staff for toilet paper and towels five times over 3 days with no luck. Had to buy our own. Aircon didn't work. We left on day 3 after pre paying for 5 nights and they sent heavies around to our new hotel for an 'unpaid' bill of two waters and two beers they had missed when we finalised our bill. Truly bad service
- Jaime (8/5): Rustic and cozy - They have a new wing which they put us at for our first stay as the existing huts were fully taken. A few more huts next to us were still in progress. We like the rustic feel of the resort and they have a nice little pond-like pool right behind the reception. As our room was so newly built, we had a feeling that we were the first guests to have the pivilege to use it. Though it was missing some of the final touch, like no hangers in the bathroom and room, no dustbin in the room.. It would be great if there could be more wall sockets for charging battery, phone, and we thought the room was a bit dim.. Small little stuff, nothing serious. After first night, we requested for room change to the other wing when some guests checked out and the hotel manager was kind and did so at once. He also recommended that we took the island tour on motorbike with the hotel staff. It was a splendid tour with the locals and we went to several beautiful spots which we might have problems finding if we went on our own.. We definitely enjoyed our 3 nights-stay there!
- Dale (10/5): A must stay for sure!!! - Awesome little oasis
- solo female (6/5): - Lovely place - can't be faulted per se however you need to know the bathrooms are completely outside so mozzies are an issue! It's also very dark with only one inefficient light bulb in bathroom, no overhead lighting in rooms (just a lamp) and you'll end up charging your phone in the bathroom (which is not connected/inside your room) - lovely staff, great location, fantastic bedding, excellent banana pancakes - don't be put off, just expect to have some adjusting to do!
