Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Was not given comforter and towels microwave hasn't been cleaned jn months
- Steve (2/5): - nasty place
- Kim (2/5): - The bedding had cigarette holes all over. The heat in the room was very poor. The bathroom tub had stains everywhere. Never again would i stay here.
- MaryBeth (2/5): - This place is disgusting. Dirty, mold all over.
- Sakinaj (6/5): Ok - It was okayc
- Julian (2/5): Bedbugs. - Woke up with bites all over my arms. Give this place a wide berth.
- Madeline (10/5): - No frills but good
- Verified traveler (6/5): Room - Could of been cleaner and had a bad smell. Bathroom tub was black. Mirror above sink was dirty.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Needs remodeling - The price was right. Staff very accommodating. The bathroom needed a lot of remodeling the tub and bath fixtures filled with cracks and rust.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nasty hotel needs to be shut down or reestablished
- Rosco (2/5): Worn red carpet hotel - Unfortunately I paid for the room before I saw the room otherwise I would not have stayed here. Very old, outdated and dirty. Do not stay here.
- Jeremy & Becky (8/5): Convenient to event location and close to diner - It was easy to access to the interstate, pretty quiet, room was clean, staff was polite, next to a great diner with tasty food!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Would never recommend this - The room was absolutely disgusting. Stains all over the bedding. Cigarette holes in the sheets. Water marks on the ceiling. The room itself was dirty. Air conditioning was broken. When we checked in and went to the room an exterminator was in it.
- Cassie (2/5): Disgusting - I understand the price is cheap, but we were on a road trip and stayed in a few other cheap hotels that were of normal quality. This place was gross, we didn't want to sit on the bed it was so gross. There were flies in the bathroom, stains all over the walls and the carpet. The comforter was ripped and stained. The room didn't smell like a smoking room, it smelled like garbage. We didn't even stay for ten minutes. We spent the extra 40$ and went down the road to another hotel. Oh and this is a MOTEL, not a hotel.
- Maria (2/5): You definitely do NOT get what you paid for - This is an older hotel and has been left in disrepair. It is a good location convenient freeway access close to stores. The condition of the room was less than desirable for close to $100 a night I would have expected a little more. The room had a fridge and microwave which was unexpected but the condition of both appliances were very poor, the fridge door shelves had been replaced with electrical tape to hold things. The bedding suffered from burn holes and the room was saturated with cigarette smell. The carpet was pulling away from the wall which is understandable considering the wall was crumbling away from the carpet. Our door had been noticeably jimmied or pryed open at one time the weather stripping at the bottom had been replaced with an electrical tape flap. The cleanliness of the room well let's just say there were dirty socks left from a previous occupant. We survived our stay but I will not stay here again and would strongly advise others against it unless you absolutely have no other choice. Good luck and if repairs and such were done to this hotel it is in a great location.
- Harold (2/5): DISGUSTING, Filthy Dirty Hotel - HORRIBLE Hotel. Don't stay here. Filthy room, Black mold in Bathroom. Dirt on walls and carpets were disgusting. We were given 2 threadbare towels and washcloths- Good think I had towels in my car. If we could have found another hotel close by at 11:30 at night, we would have. The good reviews must have been written by the owners- It was disgusting
- Mstwenty (2/5): The Bates Motel - The desk man was on his phone when I arrived basically he finished his phone call & the checked us in. It's a motel and everything was old and outdated. Not worth the hundred dollars I spent. Will not be returning.
- Deborah (2/5): do. not. stay. here. - Stayed there after a trip to the water park. It was disgusting. Dirty foot prints on the wall. Burn holes in the blankets. Stain on the arm chair that looked like... We laid our beach towels on the bed and slept on top of them. I literally had to get drunk to fall asleep in there.
- GERARD (2/5): Good luck - Besides WiFi , avoid this place . Dirty room , broken door lock , and drunk banging on door at 140 am . Then again around 215 am . Never again.
- Steven (6/5): my opinion - it wasn't fancy at all but ive came for business reason. it was pretty comfortable and clean, i can't complain
- Verified traveler (2/5): GO ELSEWHERE - This is hands down the dirtiest hotel I have ever been in. When the sun shined through the window you can see splatter marks on the walls. It looked like someone through a can of cola on the wall a few times and let it drip down. There was a piece of ramen noodles dried in the blanket, cigarette burn holes everywhere in a non smoking room! The blinds on windows had a thick layer of dust and the outlets had a layer of dark sticky crap on them. Just gross. They had the nerve to put an envelope with "tips for housekeeping" handwritten stuffed in the frame of a mirror.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Do not stay at this hotel!! - Light kept flickering, no bathroom light, didn't get the room we reserved, worker called yelling at us on phone, no breakfast except mini donuts. Not worth it!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Seek other options - Horrible stay. Didn't even give me the right kind of a room. Room wasn't clean and in bad condition. Cheaply put together. Lights kept coming on by themselves while asleep at night. Very Uncomfortable along with bad customer service.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Ok for a night - The room was small but clean and warm considering it was very cold outside. The bathroom could use some updating but everything worked. I would recommend for a night! The check in staff was not very welcoming.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Lazy DAY - Just 2 nights , got stuck from work
- Verified traveler (4/5): Really trashy rooms. OK if you need a quick stop - The room I stayed in is in terrible condition. The faucet was falling apart, there was a giant hole in the subfloor in front of the bathroom. The I nly thing that kept me from falling through the floor was the carpet. What looked to be blood splattered all over the walls. Terribly dirty.
- chrisnttracey (2/5): please find another place to stay - the room is dirty and walls are dirty and it looks like a drug motel
- MOWLEN (4/5): GOOD STAFF, NOT CLEAN ENOUGH - CHECK IN AND OUT WAS GOOD.
ROOM NEEDS BETTER CLEANING.
- Anonymous (8/5): Hotel Review - It was a surprise for the price on how nice the hotel was and there is a 50's diner next to it and it was amazing food. I would defiantly recommend for anyone.
- snwbrdbaby (8/5): This hotel was a comfortable place to stay and staff was great! - Room was perfect, had plently of room! Enjoyed my stay!
- From Vermont (2/5): Never Again - Should have looked at the reviews prior to making my reservation. The two negitive ones were right on. Heater hot then cold all night long. Mold in toilet shower area. Never cleaned behind toilet. Rusted and mold on baseboard heaters. Dirt around base of sink faucet. Their advertised breakfast? Warm not hot coffee and packaged donuts. Not worth the low price. In this case I got less then I paid for.
- Anonymous (2/5): Disgusting - The place is absolutely disgusting. We paid for it and ended up not staying there! We only rented it because the electric went out in my house and this was nearby where we work. Everything was extremely dirty, the bathroom smelled, everything had dust all over it, the carpeting is old, ripping and just plain gross. I would never ever go back there for any reason. Just touching the doorknob grossed me out.
- Mary (8/5): Okay for a nights sleep - Room was clean and quiet. Had mini-fridge and microwave which I had never seen in hotel/motel before, but I was only there for a nights sleep, so didn't use them. My disappointment- no wifi, even though it was listed as a part of the room.
- Anonymous (8/5): The breakfast was not 'in' by - The breakfast was not 'in' by the time I had to leave at 7 a.m.
The free internet was not available.
Two major reasons I chose Red Carpet...I won't be doing that again.
- Anonymous (2/5): Terrible service.. - Tried to check in late... was told that the fax from [...] never arrived.... was turned away. Eventually found a place to stay on my own.... Will never use [...] again....period.
- Anonymous (2/5): red carpet inn - We arrived to no one at front desk had to wait 5 min.[...]. Bathroom light didnt work and one of the double windows in the bathroom was missing (broken out). Small tub and lastly the locks on the inside of door were lose. I wouldnt recomend this place to anyone ....We paid to much for a place like this.
- CHRIS (8/5): It's what you'd expect for the price - One of the few places that still allows a tax-exempt sale since I work for a non-profit. The hotel is older, the office wasn't so easy to find once I'd driven into the hotel parking lot, but the room was sufficient with a tv, refrigerator and the usual amenities. It is in need of repairs (including a bathroom window...mine was gone but the storm window was closed) and the carpet was not fresh. But for the price, I can't complain.
- Anonymous (4/5): Adequate for a single traveler - Adequate to sleep in. Not for families.
- Verified traveler (4/5): miss leading - we stayed for one night and that was enough! I was not happy with the room at all. We got a smoking room and you can totally tell it was a smoking room by the burn marks in the curtains the bead spread and carpet. The restroom looked like it had not been updated for a very very long time. The AC did not work half the night and the room was the size of a large walk in closet.
I do not know if they rent long term or not but it was kinda creapy when we got back to the hotel later that night and several people were just standing in the door ways of there rooms.......some had BBQ Grills and others just looking for ?????? kinda strange to me.
I will say this it was quiet. but that is all I have to say good about the place. I would not tell anyone to stay here and wished we got our money back and went else where.
- Anonymous (6/5): You get what you pay for - The staff was very nice. The biggest problem was that I could not connect the Wi Fi.
- Anonymous (2/5): I guess you get what you pay for - This place was rather seedy. Furnature was old and scratched. TV was old and small. Not very clean. In room WIFI did not work. Two light bulbs were burnt out in my room - the bathroom light and one of the wall lights. No maid service each day.
The bed was comfortable but there was no fitted sheet on the matress, just a sheet, so through the night it kept working its way off the matress.
The staff was friendly and so were the people that lived there.
I was traveling on a budget so I needed to stay some place cheap. The price was cheap enough - around 40 bucks a night with taxes, but it was definitely no Motel 6. A Motel 6 would have been much better for the same price.
The biggest improvements to be made would be cleanliness and better ammenities that actually work; no burnt out lights or WIFI that doesn't work.
- uggybugger (6/5): trip to gilbertsville - Great location, immediately off of Tilghman St! Great old stainless steel diner on same plot, (24hour operation, with great food)! Easy in, easy out. Real friendly people running the operation!
- Anonymous (8/5): great deal for the price you pay - the staff was very friendly. the location was excellent.
- Anonymous (4/5): If ALL You Care About Is $$ It's "ok" - No pillow cases.
- Anonymous (8/5): Good bargain hotel - I was in town to visit family for the holidays on a small budget and this hotel fit the bill perfectly. It is located near several major thoroughfares, restaurants, and shopping. There is a 24-hour grocery store within 10 minutes. My room had a mini-fridge and a microwave. There was supposedly free hi-fi, but my computer couldn't find the connection, so the desk clerk offered me an ethernet cable to connect and then it worked perfectly. The room, bed, and tub/shower were clean. The bed was king size and comfortable. The only cons were that the carpet was worn through in at least one large spot under the sink, the tub constantly dripped (I was told that there was a plumber coming to fix it, and it was a holiday week which is probably why it wasn't fixed while I was there), and the shower had mediocre water pressure (but I come across this almost everywhere I've ever stayed). Also, don't count on breakfast. Free continental breakfast was advertised but it was only donut holes and coffee. All in all, a good deal.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Are You Kidding? - OK, I admit I "cheaped out" on this one but one would at least expect the amenities listed. I Called this motel directly before booking to make sure they had wireless internet in the room. I was traveling on business so it was rather important. I get there and of course there was no wireless signal whatsoever. The desk clerk did give me a cable to plug into the in-room jack though. Unfortunately there was no chair at the desk in the room so I had to carry one over from the office myself. When I got back to the room at night there was no internet. Desk clerk tried to tell me it was a problem with my equipment. Well, guess what? I earn my living on the net. Nothing wrong with my stuff. I even ran a diagnostic on the line to find there was just no network available. Desk clerk wouldn't do a thing about it. I LOST money from not being able to get any work done. I didn't mind carrying the chair, I didn't mind that the remote for the TV didn't work, I didn't mind the overall condition of the room, I didn't even mind all the little bugs flying around my room (I'm used to camping out). But I really needed what I was promised! If you choose to stay here, EXPECT NOTHING!
- Anonymous (6/5): not bad not great - i got sleep
- Verified traveler (4/5): I would choose another place to stay next time. - In fairness I will admit I accidentally chose a smoking room instead of a non-smoking room when I booked the reservation. My children had started to unpack before I was able to fix the situation to get a new non-smoking room. When they opened the drawers to place items in them they found the draws had dried onion skins and sesame seeds in them. When I asked for a non-smoking room I was moved immediately however the new room had no remote control for the TV. When I asked for one the office did get me a new remote quickly. We thought things would be fine then. Later that evening we could not sleep because the air conditioner wasn't working at all. I again got up and went to the office and complained in the middle of the night and they moved me yet to another room. I still had the old key so as to be able to move my things and children to the new room and I am glad I did. As the new room had no hangers or tissues as the old one did so I ran back and took these from the old room and this room was just plain dirty and had construction work residue on things. This room was also a formerly smoking room as you could tell from the smell and the 3 lovely burn holes that could be found on the blanket on the bed. I thought if I left this for the maid to see she would replace it. Nope, we came back that day and it was the same one. I did complain about there being something wrong in each room and the quality check problem they had. Maybe they will fix them.
- Anonymous (4/5): People live in this hotel - For being the cheapest hotel in the area it wasn't so bad. It offers weekly rates so there are some people that live in the hotel and seemed pretty harmless. Its just an old hotel that is not taken care very much. But it is the cheapest hotel in the area so what can you expect. The Continental Breakfast actually only consisted of donut holes and apple juice.
- Anonymous (2/5): stink rooms - dirty rooms, bed and pillow are not clean , bad smell form room and bathroom is too dirty...do not book without emergency....
