- Joanna (10/5): Enjoyable and super relaxing!! - So many great things to express with regards to the ME hotel. I requested b'day decorations in our room to celebrate my husband's birthday. The staff complied beautifully by decorating the bed, leaving cupcakes, bottled cokes and a hand written card! We received a welcome drink on arrival as we checked in. The room service food was delicious ( Hubby said it was the best cheese burger and chips he'd ever had!) The spa was super clean and very relaxing. Lastly, the breakfast was fabulous and service immaculate. Id especially like to say thank you to Punam our waitress for her lovely demeanour. Water on the floor around the pool, as it was slightly slippery.

- Elisha (10/5): Serene stay, and good location - Clean and luxurious bedroom, thoughtful touches in the room, nice coffee and tea selection, very tech savvy with ability to control curtains and lighting from bed. The spa is compact but nice to use, with a pool, jacuzzi and steam/sauna rooms. The changing facilities are nice too with good toiletries and hair tools for women. We ventured into Shoreditch where there are loads of food/drink options.

The hotel was nice, a little too dark for my taste, but the highlight of my stay and the reason I came back was for Martin, the concierge, who was so incredibly professional as well as helpful, and one of the nicest human being I have ever come across. I wish him the best in his career as I’m sure he will climb very high! Montcalm East is very fortunate to have him!

- Katharine (8/5): Great room, great facilities, good staff. Didn’t quite match our expectations for the price. - Lovely massive bed and great room overall. Room was very clean. Drinks on arrival. Friendly staff. Gorgeous amenities such as pool and lobby House keeping left our door ajar which was a security risk. The lifts proved complicated to use and we would often be stuck or heading up/down due to having to scan our room key to get to our floor. Breakfast should definitely be included for the price you are paying. Said they would call when our room was ready as we arrived slightly before 3pm but nobody had called by 3:15 so went to check at the desk and it was ready but we had had no contact.

- jamesbC32UF (6/5): Disappointing basic experience - The hotel has a rather dated 90s bachelor pad decor. Lots of black wood and neon. It is clean-ish. The TV didn’t work. Rather off hand and sullen receptionist. They weren’t prepared to make a recommendation for dinner and simply handed us a list of local restaurants. Oddly woken in the middle of the night by a call on room phone but no one was there. I am not sure the experience would have been any different at the Premier Inn next door. And it would have been £150 cheaper.

- Greg (6/5): Nice room, poor gym - I liked the room and the hotel lobby / breakfast experience. The check in process was relatively smooth (although I had a trainee who needed some help. The gym was really quite poor. This is important for me, and the equipment was old and lacked variety.

Once we walked in through the door we were welcomed by the friendly staff who offered us a cold beverage on the house. Once the receptionist was made aware that it was my birthday she went above and beyond. When we went out to explore London they added a balloon , a bottle of wine accompanied with cupcakes this gesture was highly appreciated. The room was immaculate the view was breath taking and the spa facilities was included in the price. The English breakfast was 10/10 I recommend. nothing

- StephenM484 (10/5): Great stay. Nice location. - A nice hotel in a part of London we’d not explored before, 2 mins walk from Old Street station. The building from the outside looks like a real feat of engineering . Its sleek design really stands out on the street - like a futuristic spaceship that’s just landed there! Swimming pool and spa on the lower floor was great, clean, plenty of room and a decent sized pool. Big gym area with plenty of equipment. Room was a good size, clean, heated bathroom tiles was noticeable! Comfy beds, and importantly in a busy hotel, quiet, noise insulated rooms. A big thanks to the housekeeping guy who came to setup the sofa bed for my young son as soon as we arrived. The hotel were doing something nice for the kids which we didn’t know about but he did and came back 5 mins later with a basket of treats for my son which was a nice touch. Great breakfast, plenty of choice and attentive service. Would happily stay here again. Suggestion for the reception staff at Montcalm East to have a word with their counterparts at Montcalm London House to ensure that any guests transferred to them particularly at short notice - that you’re fully aware of those customers arriving and their predicament. Don’t let Montcalm London House’s problem be put on you to sort out.

- Jonathan (8/5): Fantastic hotel - would stay again. - The sauna and steam room were great, and were all of the amenities in the room. If we had to be picky, the bedding could have been softer and the no-child pool times could have been properly enforced better. But that is really us being very picky!
- Vijays (8/5): Convenient... - Checked in smoothly with friendly staff who made everything hassle-free. Rooms were a good size, comfy and well-equipped for a city break. Location is spot-on—super central for exploring Shoreditch and Liverpool Street vibes. Gym was solid with modern equipment, perfect for a quick workout. Only minor hiccup: the lift got stuck a couple of times, but it was sorted quickly. Overall, highly recommend for location and comfort!

- Sunshine17413634798 (10/5): Amazing. Will be back - Montcalm was home for me for 6 days and I have enjoyed every minute of it. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive. They anticipate your needs before you can even say a word. As a first time solo traveler, I was a bit nervous but as I said, the staff is very attentive and I felt very safe. When I arrived several hours before check in time, I was still able to use the spa showers to freshen up after my long haul flight to the UK. Md Nazmol Alam night concierge staff even went above and beyond and helped me take my birthday pictures in several spots of this beautiful hotel! When I visit London again, I’ll most definitely be coming back to Montcalm East.

- Sortova (10/5): My New Favorite Hotel in London - I can't say enough good things about this hotel. I am a Marriott loyalist, so when I have a trip I usually choose the nearest hotel to wherever my meetings are being held. I've stayed in over five different Marriott properties in the City but this has become my favorite. It was close to the venue (Tab Centre) as well as being close to the Old Street Tube stop. There are a number of great restaurants nearby without the crowds of, say, the West End. There is a Sainsbury right around the corner. The room was large and well appointed. Everything looked new and the bed was one of the most comfortable ones I've slept on in some time. The bathroom had a heated floor, and the air con worked great (which can be unusual for UK/Europe). Breakfast was included in my rate, and it was delicious. Served on the first floor, while there was always a line I never had much of a wait. A few nitpick things kept this from being perfect. A lot of hotels now supply a "drink cooler" versus an outright refrigerator, and they never keep my drinks very cool. My room was on the 16th floor which meant that, due to the building's design, the wall where the windows would be was half obscured, leaving a strange diagonal slash of windows and wall. The shower had both a hand sprayer and a "rainfall" fixture. While my wife loves those rainfall things I prefer a spray with some power behind it, but there wasn't a bar mount for the sprayer so I couldn't use it, hands-free. Note that these issues were so minor that I almost didn't bring them up, but I like to be thorough. I sincerely hope my next trip to London is for a reason that will let me stay here again.
