Next time hope to be in the hotel itself. In any case we hope to return to Nuremburg not just during Christmas market season but in the warmer months.

The parking is somewhat inconvenient which is to be expected in this part of the city. The Christmas market on opening weekend was ridiculously crowded. I would go later on if I do it again

We were running late to check-in and the gentleman at the desk reassured us that Expedia had the check in times in correct (not 9pm but 11pm). Upon arrival he showed us to our apartment which was absolutely lovely. Fully equipped kitchen, great minibar (fair price), cozy bed, and a great view. You’re near all the sights and several restaurants are at your doorstep. Lovely little spot!

The staff were incredibly friendly, the location was amazing, and the Bavarian charm was everything we were seeking during our trip. We were even greeted with a personalized welcome sign and some gummi candies when we walked into our room :) We would (will!) absolutely stay there again.

- hein (8/5): Degelijk, je krijgt wat je mag verwachten. - Degelijk hotel, er liggen meer opties in de buurt maar wij kwamen hier terecht en dat was een goede keus. Vlak bij het centrum, niet te druk op straat. Alleen de ruimte voor het ontbijt was, ook een beetje door de indeling, echt wat te rumoerig. Verder geen klachten. De prijs mag nog iets zakken en is naar mijn idee te fors voor wat er geboden wordt. Het personeel krijgt van mij een grote pluim: dienstbaar en vriendelijk en dat is tenslotte al ´het halve werk´.

- MGM (10/5): - For visiting the sites of Nuremberg, the location can't be beaten. The hotel is literally one street over from the street most guide books consider as a must-see/must-photograph. For us, having an air conditioned room (rare in many Germany hotels,) inexpensive surcharge parking (in the city Centrum,) and an inexpensive pet (dog) fee were all selling points. We were pleased with everything. The shower in our upgraded room was still very tight for large people.

- TrampingAuntie (10/5): - My room (#117) is soooo beautiful. It's nice and spacious and has a cool view out the window up the street to the church on the hill. The door is clean and modern, without being cold. You walk through a hallway with closets to get the bathroom, making it even more comfortable and spacious to store your stuff outside of the bedroom. The TV works great and is comfortable to watch from the bed; it's on a rotating arm, so I could also watch it from the chair. It has about 5 English channels, so I could keep caught up on news. The checkin process was quick and easy. Each room has its own temperature control (separate in the bathroom and bedroom), so I am able to keep the room cozy on a rainy night.

The room located right across from the office but entrance to the room (hallway, stairs, and elevator) is dark. Bathroom is relatively small. Location is great though.

Self-service breakfast catered for every taste - staff helpful but not intrusive. Twin room was comfortable for one person and very clean. NO NOISE at night in this area. Ten minute walk to a host of tourist attractions and restaurants. HBF was 20 minutes walk away and the U-Bahn and the trams in Nurnberg are excellent. This hotel is ideal for someone visiting the Christmas Market or tourists wanting to live in and experience the 'walled city' atmosphere. Cobblestones do slow down vehicles of all sorts so pedestrians can amble around at their own pace.

- Jill (10/5): Nice hotel in perfect central location - The hotel is very chic boutique. The location is perfect to the old part of town with the vintage church's and Christmas Market. The bed was not that comfortable, but everything else was great.
- James (10/5): Charming small hotel, excellent old city location - The Elch is located about a five minute walk from the Christkindlmarkt, and is thus very convenient for access to the museums and shops in the old city of Nuremberg. The room I had, #14, was relatively large for a European double in a "historic" area, with a comfortable bed and a somewhat small bathroom. It was very clean, the temperature system worked well (there is AC for the summer) and the towels and amenities were typical of this price range. The room decor was much above average, with modern furnishings, and my room had a large glassed-over outdoor seating area that would have been nice in warm weather. Breakfast was also typical of the price range; bread and rolls, cheese, cold cuts and also scrambled eggs and very decent sausages. I felt the hotel was good value, and it had quite a bit of charm.

- Ray (10/5): Good value boutique hotel in a quiet area. - A small but well appointed boutique hotel tucked away in one of the many winding streets in the old city but only a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport or a 12 minute walk from the main railway station. The original building is around 430 years old and was originally a bakery but we stayed in the "new" section that was built in the 19th century. The interior has been recently up upgraded in modern decore and amenities. The only criticisms, a hard mattress which might not suit everyone and very small bathroom that can only accommodate one person at a time.

Main station about 20 minutes walk or 1 stop on U-bahn. Good wifi service and decent desk space for those of us who may need to work instead of enjoying the sights of Nuremburg. Lots of local choice for both eating and drinking. Could be improved by tea/coffe in the room. Room was a tad cold but that was down to my incompetence with heating control rather than anything the hotel did. Would stay again without hesitation.

Hotel Staff is more than friendly and helpful! The room was amazing and comfortable. Breakfast was great!! We will definitely go back to Hotel Elch if we ever make it back to beautiful Nuremberg again.

The rooms were really new but still kept the charm of the old building. If you want to eat in some of the nearby restaurants, it might be worth booking ahead though.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely air conditioned hotel, ideally placed. - The hotel is located in the quieter area of Nuremberg, away from the bustle of the market and in an area with some very pretty streets. The air conditioning was awesome - kept us going during a very hot spell in Germany. A very sleekly designed bedroom with funky light-up headboard too. Staff were helpful and friendly- happy to store bags before check in while we explored the town. Yummy breakfast - including a definite nod to English/American guests - scrambled egg, crispy bacon and sausages.

- Jamille (10/5): Hotel Elch-A Must Stay for Nuremberg! - If you want to stay in the center of Nuremberg, then this is your hotel! They provide excellent service and offer great advice on what to see and where to eat and drink. The rooms were very cute and comfortable. It was such a great place that I canceled my hotel for Saturday and stayed another night.
