- Javier (10/5): - El Hotel es muy bello, ubicado en el centro histórico, está muy conservado debido a su antiguedad, el aseo excelente, el desayuno delicioso y abundante, la buena ubicación permite conocer caminando los lugares más lindos del centro de Cuenca. La habitación muy cómoda con una decoración de época muy bonita y amplia, las sabanas y el colchon excelentes. Un poquito de ruido en las noches.

Nuestros cuartos estaban en un 3er piso sin elevador, los balcones hermosos pero nada seguros para los niños y las llaves de los cuartos muy rusticas para manipular. Lo peor era el olor en el baño, apestaba, todo el tiempo tuvimos que mantener el extractor encendido porque era invivible estar con esa peste a desague.

- Michael (9/5): Unique. Do your self a favour. Stay here. - It is unique. The door key and balcony latches must be 100 years old. The hotel is like walking into the past. Security is excellent. Position .. there is no better. As the hotel is positioned so well at the square you can get some noise till late from revellers on the weekend. But. Not really an issue for me.

Very noisy rooms, breakfast area was closed and we were never told, so we ate in a dirty area upstairs, lots of stairs to your room, the front door lock is a wooden stick, the stairwell is full of rotten wood, and the wooden floors in the rooms are very noisy. A 2 for sure.

The bed was comfortable, but didnt quite hit a 10 for me. The staff are above and beyond. I had luggage and a cat and they helped me up to my room. No complaints. I did, however, forget to tip the first fellow who helped me and I apologize. I was exhausted. The breakfast choices were great and I enjoyed perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, tea, toast, and a corn pancake. They held my luggage so I could do some errands and on my return I ordered an amazing margarita. Thank you. Nothing

Breakfast was delicious every day and dinner had fair prices. The room had a fantastic view of the park and the beds were comfortable. There was only one issue and that was with the bathroom because it had a strange, bad smell. It was a little overwhelming and the workers did try to fix it, but they were not successful.

- Anja (10/5): - Wunderschönes Kolonialgebäude mit schönen, geräumigen Zimmern, ausgestattet mit einer kleinen Küchenzeile. Das Frühstück ist super lecker und umfassend. Die Lage direkt am Parque Calderon ist super zentral, allerdings auch an manchen Abenden/Nächsten sehr laut. Trotzdem würde ich hier jederzeit wieder buchen.

- Jane (9/5): We would absolutely stay here again. - Located next to Parque Calderon, staff was excellent, hotel restaurant is very good breakfast, lunch or dinner, very clean and comfortable room, bathroom, and mezzanine lounging area. The ONLY downside was the sewer gas smell from the shower drain because the plastic gizmo in the drain that’s supposed to help suppress that was broken and had to be removed. It wasn’t terrible and we just kept the bathroom door closed.

Se encuentra en una muy buena ubicación enfrente de la catedral prácticamente. Ellos cuentan también con un café el desayuno fue muy rico también con fruta fresca, jugo natural de naranja, café como tú lo prefieras pan, huevos y pancake. El personal fue muy amable y nos ayudaron siempre. No me gustó la habitación número 2 solo por su cama que es muy pequeña y el colchón es muy incómodo y no dormí bien esa noche. También las habitaciones dan a la calle entonces es muy ruidoso y durante el fin de semana hay fiestas por ejemplo en el negroni con música muy alta que no es posible dormir al menos no para mi.

The hotel’s appearance is nice and its location is central, which is a real advantage. Unfortunately, when a serious issue arose, no one took responsibility or ownership to resolve it. As soon as we entered the rooms, there was a strong chemical smell that made it impossible to stay. We immediately went back to reception to report it. We were told someone would come check within 30 minutes and that we should open the windows and doors. We went back to reception multiple times, asking for a solution. No alternative room was offered. We were told the receptionist could not make any decision without contacting the owner, who was unreachable. We tried to contact them in every possible way and were ignored. After reading other reviews, it is clear that this is not the first time guests have reported this chemical odour, which makes the lack of action even more concerning. Instead of taking responsibility, the hotel attempted to portray the situation as guest misconduct by a message to justify their position, which is inaccurate and unacceptable. We reported the issue immediately and waited for a solution that never came. Because we had a reservation we could not miss, we had to leave and pay for another hotel at the last minute, taking all the luggages with us. This was not a voluntary cancellation, yet the hotel refused a refund, despite the room being clearly uninhabitable and no solution being provided. I hope this honest review encourages you to improve your practices. Situations like this should never be handled this way.
