- natalia (1/5): poca seriedad - nada poco serios
- James (10/5): Great deal if you have to be here. - Great old place on the main square for a great price. The town itself is beat down. Homeless guy in the center of the square is a fixture. Gave him a Pepsi and he was delighted. He is still there. Spent the day looking for the nice parts of town. Will try again tomorrow.

- Old Horse (10/5): Very good -
- Shayman (9/5): - Love this historic hotel built in 1907 Perfect and great value & location

- Alejandra (10/5): -
- Patrick (10/5): Great staff, historical hotel, good breaks me a look into the past of Valparaiso! - The staff. Gloria was fantastic - very friendly and attentive. The history of the building is amazing - I like the connection to the British monarchy I loved the property - cannot wait to visit again.
- David (9/5): Historical building - Good location in an historical building.
Quirky (steep stairs) but I loved it.
- Timothy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (3/5): Very unenjoyable experience. Definitely overpriced. - Location Sheets did no fit the bed and came off the mattress in the night, the dirty bathroom floor, pillows that were rock hard
- Charles (10/5): Great hotel. - Great classic old hotel once fit for royalty. Staff was great.
- Carito (8/5): Nice old hotel! - It has personality!! Comfortable bed. Restaurants in the area. They stored our luggage after late check-out. Very noisy as it is in front of a big plaza. The toilet made a weird loud sound every time it was getting water after flushing.
- Cristobal (6/5): Pleasant - Location - no breakfasts
- no smart TV (couldnt cast netflix)
- uncomfortable bathroom
- cost was higher than what was shown on booking, through hidden undisclosed fees
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- Jonathan (9/5): Superb - The building was old and had character.
- Kelly (9/5): Superb - The young receptionist was phenomenal. Helped with everything we needed and did it all with a smile.
The Hotel has a wonderful interior with high ceilings and beautiful woodwork.
A truly satisfying stay. There is nothing I would change.
- Javier (3/5): Fix your water pump - Location Alarm beeps every minute and nobody cares.
Water pump is old and makes noise all day and all night
- Jeremy (8/5): Grand place to stay in Valparaiso with bags of history - We have stayed in the Reina Victoria before. It is a quirky building, originally the English Hotel, on the downtown Sotomayor Square between the Navy headquarters and memorial. It oozes character, with bare brick walls and wooden beams. The ceilings are infeasibly high. The location is very convenient for the El Peral Ascensore to get you up into the tourist-friendly Cerro Concepcion and Cerro Alegre.
I wish there was an even more smiley face for value for money! Unfortunately the square is not as safe as it used to be, but it should be fine in daylight and the reception door is kept locked except when a guest is entering or leaving. Uber seems reliable in Valparaiso. The height of the rooms was a challenge when they did the conversions to provide en suite bathrooms and the results are a little untidy, but better than not having them. Room height is also a challenge for keeping the room warm in winter.
- Nic (8/5): Very good - Helpful staff 🚻 broken, sink cracked, could be upgraded a little
- Kam (7/5): Price worth the location - Good location Noisy
- Maria (1/5): A mistake - Didn't eat A long list.
- Camilla (10/5): Charming and friendly. - Location just in the heart of town! So appreciated this historic hotel. We really needed a elevator because of age, but the front desk girl offered to catty up our bags. So helpful! So glad we found this charming hotel! Stairs.
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Charming heritage architecture, helpful staff The walls are likely from the turn of the last century, so the room was noisy during the day from street noise and neighbors in next room talked a lot.
- Emily (5/5): staff was great - great location small
- Peggy (1/5): It was awful. - Nothing. This hotel was rated a 8/10 on Booking.com. How is this possible? It was noisy and the young woman at the desk claimed not to know that there was a bar situated directly outside our window. We booked for 4 nights but only stayed one, long wakeful night listening to the thumping "music" and hooting and hollering from the bar below our window until 4 a.m. We asked for a refund of 2 nights considering we could not sleep there which was kind of the point of renting a room. We were denied any refund.
- Darien (9/5): Superb -
- Marten (8/5): Very good - Old hotel in the close to the harbor. Clean rooms and helpful personnel.
- Gregory (6/5): Great place to stay “ in Valparaiso “ , but having been there I don’t need to return. Viña del Mar was not worth going t - On Plaza Sotomayor, where free walk tours start. Busy in day time, but all shuts at 6pm. Walked up to cerro Alegre for restaurants in evening . Several good ones, others more basic . No lift
I tried to booked a taxi to the airport in Santiago and was told no problem. They would do it for me in the morning of. The night porter ( we couldn’t communicate) eventually told me to hail a taxi outside. I failed ( stressful)and after 45 mins returned for the new receptionist to get one in six minutes. Wonderful lady
- Lars (7/5): Good -
- James (8/5): Very good - Front desk clerk. Train station nearby takes you to Vina Del Mar. Tall ceilings. Window onto the plaza. Neptune Bar. Refrigerator Should have some morning coffee.
- Ranjan (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Muñoz (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (9/5): Gorgeous old hotel with an unbeatable location - Beautiful hotel, friendly and helpful staff, incredible location. It’s an old building and I could hear my neighbors very clearly, but it never impacted my sleep. People were respectful during sleeping hours and the sound from outside was minimal.
- Zyanya (10/5): One of the best hotels this trip! - Everything!!
- Zyanya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hognestad (8/5): Very good - Really beautiful building Thin walls, could hear a lot from the street and from the building. But that’s also kind of the charm about this old sailor-like hotel.
- Carl (8/5): Great place to stay if you want somewhere central and don't need breakfast or communal areas. - The location is very central - facing Plaza Sotomayor, making it ideal to access the different hills of Valparaiso. The hotel itself was also old and characterful. There were no services (eg. breakfast, bar, cafe) or communal areas, so once in the hotel you are more or less confined to your room.
- David (8/5): Very good - The place had a lot of character. The staff, despite our terrible Spanish, really made us feel welcome. We even got a super early check in after a night bus which is always a bonus. Thanks guys. Lovely stay. The bed was super comfortable!! Might not be ideal if you're a light sleeper as the square is a little noisy due to it being an old building. We didn't have an issue.
- Jimy (8/5): Happy to stay in a historical hotel. - The staff were great help, very kind and friendly. Also the building, a historical structure, made me feel like transported to a different era. Smelly through the corridors and rooms.
- Tejas (8/5): Nostalgic! - Historic building, large bedroom windows
- Christian (8/5): Very good -
- Ryan (9/5): Superb -
- Bonnie (9/5): Superb - We had a great stay at Hotel Reina Victoria.
- Alma (10/5): Exceptional - Central location and styled environment No breakfast
- Carla (7/5): Quite and very good location. Safe and a lot to see. I liked it very much. - No breakfast, it’s a pity. I told the young lady at the reception, so nice, that she could provide coffee & some juices in paper cup and even she can recommend some close persons who can clean the beautiful hotel full of history’s & stories, etc. The cleaning of the beautiful wood stairs and the wood floors and the floor of the restroom.
Thank you for letting me tell my opinion about my one night staying in the ReinaVictoria good job of restoration and assistance at the reception desk.
- Marko (8/5): Very good -
- Rose (5/5): Passable -
- Robben (8/5): This is a great budget friendly option for the traveler wanting to be close to main sites and doesn't mind a little - This is an old hotel for sure but it's authentic, clean and a good price. The location is great for sightseeing as you are right on the main square and close to the train. Safety is also good, the front door is locked at all time and you have to be buzzed in and out. Because it is right on the main square, it can be a little loud in the mornings and at night if an event is taking place.
Also, there is no AC in the room so it got pretty hot at night.
There is also no elevator so you have to climb steps! we didn't mind but for some this might not be realistic.
- Elsa (8/5): Beautiful historic building - Beautiful old renovated building! Staff are super helpful and the place clean.
Perfect location to explore the city. No coffee service.
- Garred (10/5): Funky historic hotel. Great for those like steep old wooden original stairs.lstairs - No food yet. Building is very old, a classic from 1910. Creaky wooden stairs, high ceilings, a jewel of history located in the very center. Easy access to anywhere in Valpo. No elevator! Staff was the best! Street noise esp. a discoclub out there.
- Jerzy (8/5): Very good -
- Tieying (10/5): Very helpful staff - both the receptionists speak English and were helpful. The gentleman drew a tourist route for us on the map and provided very useful tips on exploring the town. Appreciate the help! all good
- Mark (3/5): not worth it - good location very small, old, and very noisy
- Alice (10/5): it’s charming - It’s very close to both the harbour and interesting neighborhood’s and shopping .
- Brian (7/5): Good value & clean - Location not touristy. No coffeemaker. Also I’m old & no elevator.
