• Gefe (8/5): Loved the grounds and the decor of my room. - Great location, ocean view room was nicely decorated and view was very nice, hotel grounds nice and staff very friendly. Limited parking availability ☹️. Ocean view room faced the street and there was a lot of car and people noise. My last night was actually the only night where I didn’t hear people’s conversation and car noise.

Les horaires de check-in, inacceptables tant elles sont tardives, qui tronquent 4 à 6 heures d'une nuitée. L'absence de douchette.

• F1045WIbryanf (10/5): Family vacation to California spring 2026. - Very nice property, well maintained and exceptionally clean. Rooms were a bit small for our needs, but very nice and functional. Staff was excellent and helpful. The beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards were free and a really nice touch. Beach access was right across the street, lots of restaurants and shopping in the area. Even though I'd rather do an Airbnb and likely not stay here again (Personal preference), I have to give this property 5/5 and would highly recommend it, just a fabulous spot and the grounds are amazing.

• BealSouthend (10/5): Beautiful Family Friendly Resort - We are a retired couple from the UK and stayed with our son and his family who travelled from New Zealand. We had both chosen this resort as it appeared to be a family friendly small resort with a lovely pool for the children, aged 5 and 8. It was also opposite the ocean and had easy access to the lovely town of Carlsbad. Everything was in walking distance. The photographs simply do not do justice to this beautiful resort. The grounds are magnificently landscaped with abundant palm trees and brightly coloured masses of flowers arranged in pots throughout the grounds. Lots of little resting areas with bbq's and comfortable seating and fire pits are set all around. We even discovered a private garden where the flares are lit each night at dusk. It was magical! There is a pantry for free breakfast items - our grandson loved the little chocolate doughnuts! The staff work very hard both in the apartments - room service every day and also in the grounds, watering those flower pots early every morning. The pool was just the right size and our grandchildren made good use of it and loved the hot tub too. They made many friends and we all had a wonderful holiday. The town of Carlsbad is very compact, scrupulously clean and full of restaurants. We all loved The Coyote bar and enjoyed the fire pits and relaxed atmosphere, including the Karaoke night which was held on Monday evenings. The Carlsbad 5k race was run on Sunday 12th April. The town was full of happy runners despite the rain. The roads were closed and the police organised road blocks etc. The town was clean and fresh within hours of the race ending despite about 5,000 visitors. Lastly a special mention of Beau who was so helpful when I could not use the App for the washing machines and dryer. The only addition to the site that would make it tip top would be the addition of a rest room within the grounds, possibly near the swimming pool to save that run to the apartment! Thanks to Ocean Palms Beach Resprt for a truly memorable holiday.

• Olson (8/5): Nice place to stay. Close beach access. - The setting was like it's own little oasis. You can feel like you are in Hawaii. Tall palms, flowers, fire pits every night. Coffee, juice, bananas, and snack pasteries were available for breakfast. Our room got switched over to the pool area. It was pretty noisy with big families on spring break. I would have preferred our original room which had a little bit of a sundown view, but the lock wasn't working when we arrived. The room we were switched to was an "upgrade," in size and bathroom, but the view and quiet setting was more attractive to me.

From the moment we arrived, Andrey at the front desk made everything smooth and pleasant with his professional and cordial demeanor. He helped us from the very beginning and set the tone for a great visit. We loved watching the sun set into the ocean right from our room, an experience that made evening feel special. Bo was also kind and helpful in the evenings, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. With great restaurants just a short walk away, the location couldn’t be better. Highly recommended.... Moe.
• SelinaCee (10/5): Perfect location, friendly check-in, fabulous room with good facilities, at a decent price - We only stayed here one night as part of a road trip, but wish it could've been a week! It was easy to find, and we managed to get a parking space on the street outside to check in (and then one inside the small courtyard once we'd found out where our room was). I can imagine at peak times, it may be a bit tricky to get a close parking spot, but that's to be expected in a smaller hotel in a residential area of a busy beach town. The chap on check-in was fab, and very helpful. We felt welcomed (which I have to say on this first road-tip post-covid wasn't the standard in a lot of places we stayed this time unfortunately). Our room was right on the courtyard by the parking lot and on the ground floor. We were really pleased with the space, cleanliness and facilities it offered, and only wished we were staying longer to be able to take advantage of the self-catering cooking facilities that were a bonus to the room. Another plus to this hotel is the proximity to the beach, and with easy access to the steps across the street, combined with the option to take beach chairs and umbrellas provided at reception, it was perfect to enjoy an afternoon on the glorious sandy shore! The pool area was also lovely, small but with plenty of loungers and the same lush tropical vibe that the hotel has gone for in it's decor and styling throughout the rooms and grounds. There's tons of seating areas and tables/chairs dotted about the grounds for chilling out in the sunshine, and lots of nice shady spots too. We can't wait to come back here (once things have 'settled down' in the US in the next few years) and this place will be on our 'must return' list for a few days this time.

The property is beautifully maintained, with a relaxed coastal atmosphere that immediately made the trip feel like a true getaway. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, and the resort's lush landscaping added a peaceful, private feel. One of the highlights was the location — just steps from the beach and within easy walking distance to Carlsbad Village shops and restaurants. The staff was welcoming and attentive, creating a warm and professional guest experience from check-in through departure. Overall, it was a refreshing and memorable stay, and I would absolutely return for another coastal escape. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a charming, laid-back beachside resort in North County San Diego.

The staff was wonderful one of the best things about this resort is that you never have to get back in your car you can walk everywhere. Also, it is really close to the Coaster which will take you to downtown San Diego. Beau from the office was friendly and provided helpful information.

I loved listening to the ocean waves, right across the street. Front desk was so helpful and friendly. A perfect spot to be so close to the beach. This is a prime location, to return to... year after year. So much fun!

We are timeshare owners to the next door location but they require a two day minimum we were in town for 1 night. This was our first time visiting and we will definitely be back! The pillows were my only complaint. The bed was a little firmer than I like but I understand that. However the pillows in my room seemed as though they were way littler than the bed size. The aspect ratio just seemed a little off. Maybe my husband stole the good pillows and left me the decorative ones. :)

The shower and in-room hot tub was great but hot water didn’t work half the time. Hot water was out in the morning and wasn’t addressed. Roaches appeared multiple times. The property is a renovated motel upselling as luxury.

Room had most things you need except bottled water, a microwave or creamers for coffee in-room, however all were in the lobby/guest ‘canteen’ which was conveniently near our room. I was surprised to find there was a heated pool and hot tub, as our goal was beach time, riding bikes, and dining out in Carlsbad. The patio area with lots of seating and evening fire pits is nice too. Such a cute place but it’s a super noisy building with very thin walls/ceilings. It’s not that the streets are loud, it’s other guests just doing basic things and we were by the interior parking area. I sleep in earplugs and with closed windows. Even so, other guests start making tons of noise and banging around from 5am onward, someone literally banging on our ceiling on Sunday morning, maybe a kid with a hammer? Non-stop barking dog for 2 hours on Sat morning 7-9am. We got a dogsitter and left our dog at home. I’d never inconvenience an entire hotel to avoid paying a petsitter just to leave it barking when I went for breakfast. Bed mattress wasn’t as plush/pillowtop as most hotels. All in all, though, we had a lovely staycation, enjoyed the heated pool, and continental breakfast.

• Monica (9/5): A hidden gem in Carlsbad. - Great location, nice staff, pretty premises, comfortable room. Too much light coming into the room at night. The outside lights are too bright at night. A simple solution would be a blackout shade to pull down.

• Daydream724195 (10/5): Rain didn't keep us from enjoying our stay. - This place is quaint, very clean, staff is amazing. Although it rained the entire time, we still were able to get an umbrella and see the sights. The beach is steps away from Ocean Palms resort. We want to come back again when its not raining.
• Meredith (8/5): - We really enjoyed the location, room was nice, and the staff was friendly. We liked that the room had a small kitchen and good lighting. Unfortunately, there were some ants in the bathroom and kitchen.
• Cherie (10/5): Great off season deal and perfect weekend beach getaway! - This is the perfect location for a beach getaway! The beach is steps from the hotel and they provide towels, chairs, etc. The hotel itself feel like you are in Hawaii with the lush landscaping and decor. This was a wonderful place and we will definitely come back. The only problem was our smoke alarm went off and the staff had to come back twice to fix it. They were super friendly and apologetic and it was not a huge deal.

• LJEBishop_CA (10/5): Wonderful - We just returned home after a wonderful 3-night midweek off-season stay at Ocean Palms. We've stayed here several times before, but this time was by far the best. We know this place is popular with families (for good reason), but as a couple, we appreciate a more peaceful and relaxing environment. That's exactly what we experienced this time. Our room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The staff -- from the front desk to the housekeeping and landscaping crews -- were all friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The grounds were clean and well-maintained. Plus the hotel is within easy walking distance from the beach, restaurants, farmer's market, train station, good running and cycling, and much more. We parked our car when we arrived and didn't drive again until we checked out. We left refreshed and happy and looking forward to our next (midweek, off-season) stay.

• ellsiew2025 (10/5): Enjoyable place to stay. - The room was comfortable and clean with nice amenities. We were able to make some of our own meals and take them to lovely view points. The location was perfect for lots of fun walks and beautiful beach views. We loved the nightly bon fires.

The blind was not acceptable. It should have been a lover shade that could be adjusted accordingly. No hair dryer in room No closet TV hard to program, or figure how to get local channels I ended up using my phone. It was very slow to react to changes of channels

• L4536LXmarthad (10/5): Relaxing times - We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite overlooking the gardens. We have stayed at Ocean Palms before and this time stayed in a bigger room than before. We walked across the street to walk along the beach. Ocean Palms has firepits, grills, pool/jacuzzi and beautiful gardens to relax. The rooms have separate kitchen, stove, fridge and dining areas. Everything you need to cook and eat... I will definitely stay again.
