• Nadine (9/5): We had a wonderful stay. - Everything. Very clean and welcoming space. Quiet place. Did not feel like a motel but more like being in a second home. We had a suite with kitchen that was extremely well appointed with new dishes, pots and pans etc… It was too early in the year for the pool to be open. Too bad!

• Shelley (10/5): This was a great place to stay, very clean/comfortable and close to lake, staff were very friendly. - Was greeted very warmly by host, inquired on long term rental and was showed space (went out of the way to be helpful). Room we rented was nice and clean and had everything we needed (large space). Close to Skaha lake (within walking distance). Had a lovely courtyard (bbq area) and had a pool which we did not use. Would totally recommend! Not much really. Large space would be nice if chair was a little further from bed with an extra table and reading lamp so as not to disturb sleeping people.

• SHARON (10/5): Lovely motel and great value for money - The room was clean, modern and comfortable and the manager was very friendly and accommodating. Very cozy and felt much more personal than most motels. Walking distance to Skaha lake and plenty of eateries. Highly recommend.

The room provisions were minimal but practical, including only essential toiletries, a desk, coffee maker, microwave, and fridge; essentially a tiny kitchen setup. The owner-operator who greeted me was kind and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
• Roger (10/5): Valley Star Motel and Skaha Lake is a lovely destination to visit - Just a short walk to the Skaha Lake beach and neighbourhood pub/restaurant (the Dragonboat Pub) where we were able to sit outdoors on the lake side, watch the sunset, and enjoy a good meal. The lake front walk was also very enjoyable. There were kiteboarders, swimmers, sail boaters, motor boaters, as well as beach volleyball, tennis, basketball, and play areas for kids. Everything was great. The level of customer service from the manager/hostess of the Valley Star Motel was excellent. She walked us to our room, showed us all the features/controls (AC, TV, etc) and provided us with warm (fresh from the dryer) pool towels for our evening dip. It was a real pleasure to stay there. We will definitely return, when we travel through Penticton again.

The doors might need WD40 but that’s it. The AC was in the room and it was fantastic to have on the hot days. The pool was very well maintained and the perfect temperature. VERY walkable to the lake and to a few restaurants. Would stay again!
• Shelley (10/5): - The friendly accommodating owner of the Valley Star takes such pride in her place and it shows. Over 2 decades of family run business, it is spotless, spacious and comfortable. Full size fridge, stove, oven, comfortable beds and a couple blocks walk to the beach or restaurants make it such great value. My husband and I enjoyed staying here very much.

• Paul (10/5): Comfortable and.relaxing stay. - Nice room with a sepatate bedroom and a full kitchen, very well-equipped. Clean, recently refurbished, comfortable bed. 5 minute walk from Skaha beach. The outside tables and bbq area are great to relax in the evening. The A/C was a little.noisy and the motel is beside a reasonably busy road, so there was some noise. Not really bothersome, though, and traffic dies right down after about 8-9 pm.

• Darrell (9/5): perfect vacation stay - Super friendly reception and staff. The room and bathroom very very clean. The place was very comfortable and well furnished and apportioned. Very close to a beautiful beach and park. I will certainly book this place again and recommend it to friends and family.
• Ben (10/5): - The motel has a cozy vibe and the person at the front desk was lovely. She was warm and friendly through the check-in and check-out process being very accommodating to our request to have 2 vehicles at the property. I was there for work, so I didn't get a chance to use all the amenities but from what I saw, there were BBQs, a pool, and a few areas to sit outside either in the sun or the shade. This location is tremendously convenient if you're looking to hang out at Skaha beach. It's also only about a 2 minute drive away from a Walmart to do any grocery shopping. The room was very clean with multiple towels. They don't do daily room cleanings, but you can request fresh towels by putting the used ones out by 11am. The room does come with a coffee maker, fridge/freezer, and microwave. The AC worked tremendously well for the Summer temperatures we faced. The only thing that might bother some people would be the walls are very very thin. These are portable style walls, so you will hear children, TV, or any other noises from your next door neighbour. Overall, I would 100% stay here again.

You're well taken care of here 😊 - I travel all over the world for business and stay in many many hotels Valley Star is an absolute gem of cleanliness, and attention to small details. A family business- caters to all sorts of travelers. They owners go just above & beyond to ensure your stay is taken care of and you have everything you could need. Beds are great, upgrades are nice, courtyard and pool area are on point! Very easy to relax and be at home here.
• Chantelle (6/5): Not too clean - Front desk was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! The motel is very dated (but most are in Penticton) however our room has an interesting smell that we couldn’t quite put on finger on. It wasn’t the cleanest either, lots of dust, chipped tiles on the floors. We did find a bug crawling from under the mattress one night and then the following night a bug crawled on me in the other bed. Either an earwig or silver fish…. Was gross and we left early the next day (checking out anyways) because I could not stand it anymore. Having a kitchen was nice but overall I would choose somewhere else next time.

The grounds are well kept and lush. The pool is awesome but with a 10 minute walk to Skaha beach who needs a pool! If you need a motel in Penticton don't pass on this one. You'll be happy with it.

• L-JCanada (6/5): Not what we expected - Having read the glowing reviews, we expected more than we experienced. We were aware it was an older motel and has had renovations and we did find it clean, but the quality of the renovations were subpar. Also, in our room, the electrical outlets were lacking with only one plug in the kitchen area in a narrow area directly beside the sink which made plugging in the coffee pot or kettle awkward. There was a power strip on the night table. The outlet by the bathroom sink was linked to the switch so we couldn’t use our nightlight. We also did experience noise from the traffic but perhaps a trade off for being close to Skaha Lake park. One bonus was the mini split air conditioner was quiet. We had booked 2 nights but chose to leave after one as we didn't feel comfortable with the general feel of the room. Generally speaking, we found it difficult to align the 5 star reviews we read to what we experienced. We wanted to highlight a few things that others might want to consider prior to booking.

• Randey (10/5): - Staff were very nice and helpful. Property is of the same vintage as many of the other privately owned motels in the area, but this one is kept very well maintained and very clean. Room I was provided had a kitchenette that was well stocked with necessary supplies to cook one's meals on days that one does not want to eat out or order in. Motel is also a nice 10 minute walk to Skaha Beach, so made for a very pleasant stay being able to take morning and evening walks along the water daily. Very conveniently located just a 5 minute drive to Walmart along with other shops and services. Overall, an excellent choice of accommodations while visiting Penticton and other Okanagan communities.

• Sneh (10/5): 10 plus stars - As we drove in a bit early and we expected to be took to wait a bit but the very kind ,friendly lady at the reception did our room and paperwork done and ready, we were gave our room key and taken to the (upgraded) room and showed around where light switches are and how to work the tv remote and AC controller, which noone does anymore . To our surprise the room was spotless clean, open with 2 queen beds and nice big washroom with tub. And the yard and parking all super neat and clean, nice pool and bbq area . Walking 6 minutes to the beach and walking distance to restaurants. I really found a hidden gem. Thank you for making our stay pleasant one.

The room was big and very clean, there is a nice heated pool, our suite had a fully equipped kitchen, a basin and mirror separate from the toilet and shower and a little patio outside where we could sit and have our meals. There are 2 barbecues and plenty of supermarkets and shops nearby, plus 2 restaurants that were walking distance.. the location is great and not in the busy part of town. The owners were very nice and helpful and let us check in early as it was pouring with rain. Nothing

• larrykY74IU (10/5): Immaculate condition! - We come to Penticton regularly and the Valley Star is our go-to place to stay. We've stayed there many times over the last few years. The place is immaculately kept inside and out, the rooms have been recently updated and are always super clean, the beds and linens are very comfortable, the kitchenettes are fully equipped, and the owner/operators are very friendly. Barbecues and gazebos to prepare and enjoy your meals. Super location just a couple of blocks from beautiful Skaha Lake Beach Park. Very affordable rates too!
• Reinhard (6/5): - We have stayed here many times. However lately the surrounding area is much busier and the rooms are in need of repairs. The floors are uneven. The shower screeches when the pressure is turned up and the water kettle had a loose connection. The worst thing was the heat building up in the early night due to a leak or pilot light in the heater.

It’s family run, very clean, recently remodelled and updated. The family who runs it was greatly accommodating, and I was beyond impressed with the facility. I was visiting my Grammy who lives nearby, and I will happily stay again next time I go to see her.
