• Alexander (2/5): - Worst property I have ever been in my life. I paid 120$ and left immediately to get a hotel. This is lies it’s not a bnb it’s not a hotel it’s a dirty smelly house with 2 beds in one room from in the house. Guy told us we can’t go out after checking in 0/10
• Veljko (2/5): Terrible - J'ai réservé une nuitée pour le 26 avril 2025 mais le propriétaire avait inscrit le 28 avril. Ensuite il nous a alloué une chambre qui n'était pas nettoyé. Les oreilles n'étaient pas changées. La salle de bain était salle aussi. Dans le bol de toilette il y avait des excréments. Donc nous avons partie de là. Après notre activité de soir nous avons retourné chez nous vers 4h du matin. Jamais j'ai vu ça au Canada.

No towels and face cloth for us. Dresser in bedroom was messy. Room was unfinished. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

• Vu (2/5): - My flight was delayed so I cannot come before 5am. Later on I cannot book lyft to reach this house on time after call themvdue to cacelling from the drivers. Moreover, it also have traffice because of the accident in the street. When i came they asked me pay extra 20cad because i was late. After check in i felt like iam a student who rent the room from the host. I came back late so i have to inform them. It really uncomfortable to stay just for one night. Everytime I go outside, One guy always come and ask me the house rule, feel like i was spying. So they shoud put on expedia as it is the guest house instead of the hotel and you have to follow all our rule. Never ever come back, terrible service

• Verified traveler (4/5): Not a B&B... more likely a student shelter. - Very old bathrooms with mold, lot of hair in the bathtub, no soap. In the room mattress super thin at 16" from the floor, no tissues, no water even no glass, no garbage bin etc also big hole in the door... and no breakfast... remember its a B&B what a shame.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Absolutely Filthy Bed - Stayed for 1 night while visiting some friends in town, only wanted a clean bed and somewhere to park but that was unfortunately too much to ask for from what was a 110$ room. The bed sheets were disgusting. There were stains all over the top of the bed from past guests, one of which was a foot in diameter. There was garbage left in the drawers, leftover food from past guests in the mini fridge, and mold in the shower. Ultimately, I purchased some Lysol wipes and wiped down a section of the floor that i slept on in my winter coat as i wanted nothing to do with the bed. The owner was friendly but that did not compensate for the complete and utter lack of hygiene.

Bathroom is quite dated and no towel/mat for floor but bed was very comfortable and clean. Room with en-suite was vacant so we were upgraded to that room. Much appreciated!

• Al (6/5): - Take an average 4 bedroom suburban home and turn it into a 7 unit B&B with the breakfast 3 blocks away. Although the room was comfortable & clean, there were at least 4 rooms sharing 1 bathroom. Washing up at the kitchen sink seemed to be the norm. 1, 2 depending on your neighbours ability to park a car meant you could be many houses away parking on the street. An OK overnight spot in a pinch.

You are literally in someone’s home and not sectioned off like a classic b&b. The conditions were subpar, mould in the bathroom, etc.

• Verified traveler (4/5): - 1) The owner was unprofessional ( had a desagreement with his spouce will we were trying to book in) & was going to charge me 100$ room deposit on top of my room fees. He also did not provide me with a reciept, but charged taxes on the room.. ??? 2) the bed was about 12 to 18 inches off the floor.. Hard ti get out of bed when yiur 6 ft tall. The windows were sealed shut and the AC did nit cool off the room. And there were previously used bath towels on the coat rack in our room. 3) the bathroom that was shared.. Was dirty; dirty laundry stacked 1/2 way up the wall, mop pail with dirty water still in it, cleaning products tracked up in a corner, the stand up shower was dirty (streaky, dirty & gross) & there was no way to sit on the toilet straight (due to the waher & dryer was crowding the space). 4) breakfast between 8-9am... We left at 8:15 and the home owner had not even got out of bed yet.. We opted to loose our $$ and find a better sleeping quarters for the 2nd night.. I have pictures if anyone wants to see them...

• Pecata (8/5): - Mushfiq was great, very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is really clean, neat and the best thing about it, very quiet. You get your own room and a kitchen and shower to share on a floor with two rooms. So if you just need a day to rest, between a connection flight or one that you had trouble with, Mac B and B is a great, affordable option for you. Also includes breakfast in the morning.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Nice Place, Great Price - The owner of Mac’s B&B is a very lovely man. I called to ask about cash deposits and he was very helpful and straight to the point. When we checked in he put us through, checked our id’s and had no problem that the booking and payment were under two separate names. The door is a code so we were able to get in late at night without waking anyone. Everything was clean and tidy. A couple notes, however. The bathroom is shared amongst several rooms, though there was no issue during our stay. The continental breakfast is from 8-9 and if you want to stay in bed the walls are quite thin and it’s difficult to sleep through the noise. Very nice touch was the English/Arabic and English/Persian calligraphy we received on checkout. We couldn’t have bought a better souvenir.

• paulyne (8/5): Homey feeling - Arrived 2 hrs before check-in. I was allowed to bring my things in the room. The owner Mushtiq was very friendly, courteous and informative. He offered me to share a wonderful lunch his wife had prepared. Had a very nice chat with him and his son. I left very early next morning and Mushtiq was very helpful assisting me with my departure. A great experience.
• adam (2/5): Terrible and horrible Experience - I was really disappointed for such terrible experience. I was never able to locate this shady house. it took me long time before the owner got back to me after I contacted him many times. Despite I wasn't able to find this hotel, the owner was coorked and twisted to charge my credit card despite saying he was crediting me the full amount. I filed a complaint and reported him to the police department in Ottawa after the owner coarced me into giving him my credit card claiming it was needed to issue me the credit. Oh my God. This owner is horrible and a big lair.
• Kemmy (8/5): Great place! - Mac Bed and Breakfast was a great experience. The host ws nice too. The room was very comfortable but you have to share the bathroom with others. He is a musician so the house is decorated with a lot of musical instruments. We needed a place to stay for one night in Ottawa and Mac B was just perfect for that purpose. I will recommend!
• traverller (2/5): Not professional, not clean, not feel secure - I knocked the door for ten minutes. The host cannot afford to repair the door bell. No simple guide and no showing on the amenities. The host told me "you have to ask!" The laundry machine ris put rght besides the toilet in a tiny bathroom. The room door doesn't have secure lock. You have to open the room door to go outside to turn on the ceiling light. There is no table lamp on the desk. It is surprised me that credit card was charged by a music school. I learned later that the host also ran a music school and it was the hotel charge. The host asked all guest to wear slippers in the house. The provided slippers seem to be wear many guests before and are never cleaned. I don't reccoment it at all.

• rod&stella muñoz (8/5): mr. mushfiq is the best - it was a short stay but we feel good abput it. mr mushfiq is really accommodating and helpful all the time. his calligraphy is the best and we get to take it home with us, he's a good man, very nice to have a conversation with. really creative and friendly. the location is good, near the airport.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Mixed feelings - Place was decent and everything but for some reason the door code changes at midnight and he makes you feel bad for coming in late. Also there's no way to lock your things/valuables in your room as the room key is to be kept in a central area when you aren't on the premises. Breakfast for some reason is only offered for 1 hour from 8-9am and otherwise nothing in the kitchen is encouraged to be used except coffee which you can pay for. Otherwise place is clean.

Our room was nice, very comfy bed and softest sheets ever!! Only desire would be a tv, coffee maker and private bathroom. I thought the room was overpriced for only a bed and closet. Other than that we had a great stay. Breakfast is good. Location is great there are many busses going downtown and it is very close to the airport which was our main reason for staying here. Clean room, comfortable bed, nice breakfast, good chat with other guests. Only drawback was a busy street that had lots of traffic all hours of night despite being a residential area.

• Shaun (6/5): Selective shopping, but bus station is close. - Rooms sporting thin walls, so hopefully you have quiet people next to you. Strange music and vocals will play at random times, difficult to understand owner.

• Stefan (8/5): You get what you pay for - The owner was welcoming. The room is very nice but the bed is not of good quality. I was in a room just beside a music teaching class, so they finished late and started early. The owner mentionned his price is low which accommodates for less comfort. That seems to be his philosophy. If you are interested in culture and music, Said has plenty to tell you about. He is a very good host !
• Allen (2/5): should not be on Expedia - Our Expedia Problem We quickly recognized the tMac Bed and Breakfast was predatory and did not stay the night. By not staying with them, we avoided considerable aggravation. We are upset that Expedia posts this business in a special hands-off category and would not refund our money. By not recognizing their obvious shortcomings, Expedia let us down. What happened We wanted an hotel room near the airport for an early departure to our winter home in Mexico. My wife was searching on Expedia and somehow was phoned by an Expedia representative who pushed Mac’s. We arrived in the evening at what we thought was a small hotel. It was a house on the corner of a busy road. We parked at the corner, verified the address, and went to the door. Several people were in the driveway and told us that this was not a hotel. We went back and looked up Mac’s from scratch (our address was right) and read some bad reviews. But, we were there, so my son (our driver) and I went back. This time we were referred to Mac’s proprietor, but our inspection was not promising because: the room was small, opened to the kitchen and was not near the bathroom, we had asked for a shuttle, but saw that we would be driven by the proprietor and were not comfortable depending on him for a 3:30 am drive, we saw no chancee of the advertised breakfast, we were told that the normal late arrival fee would be dropped, but this confirmed our fear that we would be in a continual struggle to get the service we nee
• Saad (10/5): Awesome B&B, close to everything you need - While staying at Mac's B&B I didn't have to ask for a cab or take a bus anywhere. All the necessities are within walking distance. The service from Mac is great too, a very friendly/family-like environment. His art and music will have you awestruck as well! Definitely recommend to all.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Not returning - accommodations were very clean. Bedding was new and free of wear and tear. not enough seating in the breakfast room when all residents came to eat. Breakfast was served from only 8 to 9 a.m. If you had an earlier flight too bad. If you wanted a second cup of coffee you had to pay for it, never experienced that before at a B/B. Not enough parking, had to park around the corner on the street, didn't feel comfortable about leaving my car unprotected. The owner was polite but could become abrazive boarding on being rude. Not going back.

• Wing (8/5): Very good! - Very great. Mac is very helpful. I'd allegy and cough heavily ib the morning. Mac made some ginger tea with fresy mint and honey, which was very helpful to ease the coughing. The only setback is a little bit noise, because its located at the corner of a four-way stop. Depend on people, I'm ok, but my wife not so easy. I think those rooms at the back will be a lot better.

And during my two-night stay, Mac introduced me to his paintings and concerts, and also showed me the places of interests in Ottawa. Overall, it's really a recommendable place!
