Guest Reviews
- Joseph (2/5): Closed - This place literally isnt open for business and I want a refund for the night i was supposed to stay there
- Michael (2/5): - Fire Marshal closure due to electrical defects
- Jan (4/5): - Friendly staff terrible accomodation
- Kenneth (2/5): - No such property where I was
- Jessica (6/5): - Was way out of town, extremely run down. Broken down vehicles and 'junk' Everywhere! Not all the power outlets worked. The shower was broken and at one point we had NO WATER at all! The lady working the front office (that stank like dogs) was sweet enough. The compiters didnt work and they asked me what my total was.
- Kelli (4/5): - If looking for a bed and shower sure was great! I felt much safer moving the chair over and jamming it under the door so no one could open the door. The floor was dirty and a jar of peanuts in the closet. Bathroom needed some help. Like I said, I stayed cause I needed a bed and shower, but would have NEVER allowed any of my kids in the room!
- Karen (4/5): Hotel time has forgotten - The room was not clean, cobwebs, rugs over bad carpet.
- Roger (4/5): No free breakfast at Free Breakfast Inn - Start with the name. The "Free Breakfast Inn" serves nothing at all for breakfast. You get a voucher for a restaurant 1/2 mile away across the Interstate that doesn't open until 11 a.m.; therefore, most guests will be long gone and on the road by the time one can take advantage. The evening clerk was a very friendly, well-spoken and nice old lady who explained this to me, and gave me a $4 room discount after I noted I had to be at least 100 miles down the road by the time I could eat that lunchtime breakfast.
I wish the room were as clean as the service is friendly. It looked like a time warp to 1974, with a pink bulb in the lamp, golden sculptures on the wall, silver flowery curtains, and brown shag carpet. That would be fine (if eccentric), except the carpet was grimy, somewhat greasy, and littered with small hard objects (likely pebbles from the outside driveway). It hadn't been vacuumed in a long time. Beds were really old, squeaky and uneven, but not hard; I actually slept fairly well. The shower ran fine but had no head; water squirted from a hole at the end of a pipe. Paint was peeling in several places too. At least I didn't see any bugs. Still, I'd expect to pay $30-45 for a comparable grunge motel elsewhere on the High Plains, not $55+tax as I did (on hotels.com discount) here. Aside from being overpriced, it's also very remote -- only one restaurant, one bar and a truck stop within at least 3 miles of open prairie.
- Verified traveler (2/5): hotel close to interstate - facility needs updating. Cleanliness questionable
- Tanya (8/5): Decent Stay - The rooms are extremely dated, but the linens and towels were cleaner and of higher quality than a typical motel. The blackout curtains were AMAZING.
- Carey (2/5): Never staying there again! - charged $10.00 more than Hotels.com said it would be
- EM (6/5): See comments! - Was contacted by Shirley at the hotel this morning. I didn't stay there 21 Sept and regret my earlier comment. I was given misleading info from some Oakley locals and changed plans. Again I regret earlier comment and told Shirley I would stay there depending on future travel plans.
- free breakfast (4/5): cannot recommend - dirty floors musty smell cracks in the door frame
- Steven (8/5): - Just what we needed for the price. Had to break up a road trip with a few hours of sleep for a family of four. Free breakfast was for only two, though. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was great.
- Vesna (2/5): Room was bad; device was friendly - The lady at front desk was very friendly but room was awful. It stunk and it was falling apart. Shower was falling of the wall. Comforter and bed cover had staines on it. Door had big gap and wind was coming through the bottom. We will never stay at that place again
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worse Motel I have been in, beyond dirty! - Stay Away!!!!!!! DIRTY Nothing work in the room.
- Pam (2/5): Filthy room and property - The most dirtest and bizzarest place I've ever stayed
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Needs a better shower. Storm went through and no TV channels worked.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Trip 2016 - The whole place could use updating. There was nothing around except for Two restaurants about a 1/2 mile away. We ate at Captain Jacks, great food and company.
- Verified traveler (2/5): I would never stay there again. - This is a very old hotel- towels and sheets were clean, but carpet was really gross. Desk falling apart, mattress very old....
