- Greig (8/5): - William our host was the best and we were made to feel welcome straight away. All the staff were lovely and notbing was a bother. We were upgraded for our last 2 nights which was a lovely gesture. This hotel is about a 30 minute iwalk into town which is ok eventhough there are plenty of tuk tuks near the hotel. After 5pm this hotel offers free tuk tuk into town. We would definitely stay here again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff is great and very, very helpful. Room is spacious and very comfortable. Restaurant is very good, prices are fair but we found a too short list menu. The location is not close for a city walk/dinner/ any kind of actions and you have to take a tuktuk to go at night market or to any mart if you need things. But tuktuks are cheap (2$) so we do not complain as the hotel is quiet. Popular Residence is a good choice in Siem Reap.

Also tuktuk drivers may not know where this hotel is so you need to clarify with them. My booking was to include airport tuktuk on arrival and departure but they only provided on arrival. Also no welcome/departure gift. We didn't use the spa services as they actually dont have a spa onsite as such, they either send you to there recommended spa locally or they can come out to the hotel but you need to give them an 1hrs notice. Breakfast was very basic. They have alot of staff standing around not doing much and as english is there second language it can take awhile to be understood. Overall I wouldn't stay here again, there are so many places to stay in Siem Reap.

- Deb (8/5): Close to home but they will do all for you - This is close to where we live in a local village. A treat to retreat with the friendly and professional staff there. The sitting area near the pool is good to while away some hours with a good book. Breakfast and restaurant menu for other meals for freshly cooked and prepared and tasted really good can recommend. They looked after us as if we were the only customers but they did have other customers as well.

The hotel has beautiful gardens and at night it is a pleasure to hear birds and animals and not traffic noise. The location is also very good and we were able to walk into town easily - it takes about 30 minutes to the Old Market and busy city life. The breakfast is ok- as vegetarians we didn’t go hungry and the staff were very accommodating with our requests. We used the shuttle service to and from the airport via tuk tuk ( from the airport it is free). The staff are all wonderful, very polite and helpful, and make up for any shortcomings in the facilities.

I have never written any online reviews but I thought the staff members in this hotel were so professional and friendly I felt it would be wrong for me not to compliment them. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted with a cold towel, a cold drink and some chips. Check in was so easy. I just had to relax while the staff handled everything. When I wanted to go anywhere, a staff member would accompany me and talk to the tuk-tuk driver to make sure I got to the right place. Hotel service was provided promptly whenever I asked. I travelled solo this time but when I bring my family to Siem Riep, I will definitely be staying in the same hotel. I highly recommend it to everyone.

They arranged a boxed breakfast for our sunrise tour of Angkor Wat and free tuk-tuk rides to the market and Pub Street. The spa services were divine after a long day.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing customer service - I never write reviews but I really want to thank Popular Residence for there exceptional Customer Service they provided( probably the best customer service I’ve had). The staff were very friendly and always had a smile on there face. Our flight arrived really early in the morning way before check in time and they had someone waiting to pick us up once we landed at the airport and had our room ready. They provided a welcome drink/snacks upon arriving to the hotel and the set up was beautiful. Our check out time was 2pm but our flight wasnt until 7 pm so they let us stay an extra 3 hrs and provided airport drop off all at no cost. They also provide free tuk tuks to the market and pub street.The staff really go out of there way to make your stay great and to top it all off they gave us a cambodian scarf as a good bye gift to remember out stay. I definitely recommend this hotel and will be booking this hotel again in the future.

The Reception Ladies are super welcoming and even help you with heavy bags if no man isn't around, and that's rare. They serve you cold water and a cold wet nice towel every time you enter the Hotel. The bathroom and toilet are huge, around 2 m by 4.5 m, & you can sleep in the big Tub. Rooms also are very big and spacious, not to forget the gym, the pool and fish aquarium added to very clean settings. It's located in a very calm area, just 10 minutes from pub street. The restaurant is elegant in food and staff, but the food portions were small for my big stomach. With Expedia's great deals, never hesitate to try Popular Residence Hotel...

The only disadvantage was the location a little bit far from the center but you can come back to the hotel with 2$ took took .

- KT (10/5): Best experience ever - I've very thankful to all the staffs for the amazing stay I've had so far. The rooms are exceptionally clean and very big too with fast wifi, I stayed for about four days and came back two days ago. They have a spa, gym and swimming pool which I was very lazy to use but very convenient for those who actually use them. And also I had an unexpected birthday celebration by the hotel staffs and a cake which I didn't see it coming at all because it was still 2 days earlier. Though a little bit far from the night market or the tourists spot, they do have tuk tuk within their hotel compound and I think that's a lot safer than hiring tuk tuk drivers outside, I guess. Overall, I feel like Siem Reap is a safe place to go but I don't know. I feel safer going with tuk tuk from the hotel. They also provide free transport to and from the airport for customers.

The only glitch for me is that some things inside the room may be a bit faulty or not working properly but these are not deal breakers for us.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel a short ride from town - Great stay at the Popular Residence. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was clean and very spacious, so you aren't confined to either the bed or bathroom. Bed was comfortable and everything else was in working order. Nice pool area, small restaurant and a very basic gym. Couple minor complaints: shower could use more cleaning as there was some mildew and breakfast was average at best and dependent on timing as multiple items had been depleted/not refilled if you show up later. One other important note: the hotel is located beyond walking distance from the main downtown/night market/pub street area. The hotel provides free tuk tuk service from the hotel to town as well as to/from airport or bust station (you're on your own for return trips from town at ~2$ a ride). The upside is it's nice and quiet for sleeping but if you like to be within walking distance of places to eat/drink/shop this probably isn't the place for you. Overall we had a great stay here and the staff were excellent.

- Carmen (10/5): Amazing service and comfort! - A fantastic stay - the rooms are incredibly spacious and comfortable. The service is superb - the best service I've ever received, actually. Everyone was kind and considerate and no request was ever too much to handle. The staff even noticed it was my birthday in a few days (even though I wouldn't be there anymore) and organised a little cake for me - the attention to detail is absolutely exemplary! The actual hotel is a little remote however the complimentary transfer into Pub St means that you can be in the thick of the action within minutes (and the return journey is very cheap via tuk tuk). The airport transfer just needs to be arranged ahead of time and the daily breakfast is simple but satisfying. Overall, I would highly recommend for anyone who would like a quieter place to stay but from where you can still easily access all the tourist hotspots.

The staffs are extremely helpful and friendly.They provided many information for sightseeing and sorted out every problems during my stayed. Even more, we arrived in the early morning (5 a.m.) , they carried our luggage when we arrived the hotel and provided a welcome drink. What really surprised me is that we got a room to take a rest before we check in! It is also fantastic that breakfast are tasty. The staffs even prepared a breakfast box for us on the day we went to sunrise trip. Most important thing is the bedroom is super comfortable! Staying here means you can enjoy the time in Siem Reap for sure. The hotel is new furbished and clean. Swimming pool is also nice! Free 2 ways pick-up service is perfect. Highly recommended for everyone!

- Scott (10/5): Awesome hotel... - ...and I really enjoyed my stay here. The young, energetic staff here go above and beyond to please their guests. After a long day’s sightseeing, it was nice coming back to a comfortable place and greeted with friendly smiles and a cool, wet towel. Our group had two rooms and both were modern with comfortable beds and fresh linen. Both rooms were upgraded at no extra cost. The bathrooms looked new and were spotlessly clean with no signs of rust or mold even in corners and tile grout. Our friends’ room also had an extra shower and battub outside their sliding glass door. Breakfast was nice too. All four of us were extremely pleased with our stay here. Special thanks to Tuan and Kit for arranging great tours and a very late checkout our last day at no extra cost.

It also comes with a large bathroom and a lovely balcony. Pool is beautiful and the pool chairs are so comfortable. The location is quiet. It takes 5 mins with Tuk tuk to go to downtown, and they provide free tuk tuk send you there(you need to get your own transportation back). When we checked out, they wrote a thanks letter and gave us Cambodian scarves as gift. Overall, everything was perfect and it was one of the best hotel experiences I ve ever had.

What makes this hotel so good? 1. The friendliest staff I have ever seen! 2. Refreshing towel EVERY time I returned to hotel! 3. They packed a breakfast for me at 4:30am! 4. - Wai Han (10/5): Highly recommended hotel - Amazing and highly recommeded hotel. The early check-in and upgrading of the room were really very appreciated. This trip was a celebration of our 33rd anniversary and the hotel arranged nice decoration for us. Everything was nice and the staff was particularly friendly. Though this hotel was a bit far from the city centre, there was no problem as it provided free transfer to Pub Street. The breakfast was tasty though more local food could be provided if possible. The hotel could improve on small things like the quality of the toothbrush and do not forget to replace the glasses/remove the used plates. I believe they will keep improving as they listen to our views attentively. I would definitely stay here if I come again. So thankful for the staff here

I had contacted the hotel prior to our arrival to get some dinner recommendation as we arrived the day of our 1st anniversary. Mr. Tik suggested to have dinner on their rooftop. Love the idea. What I did not know if that they have decorated our bed with two swans made out towels looking like a heart, spreading beautiful flowers on the sheets and even printed a card, saying Happy 1st Anniversary and even our names. Plus the roof top dinner was incredibly staged. Balloons around our chairs etc... and right on time for the sunset. It was so so special. The whole staff is just beyond attentive and so welcoming and caring. Can't thank them enough.

- Phil (8/5): Very nice hotel but some mistakes by staff - I stayed over a week and I found the hotel very nice and mostly had a very relaxing stay there. There was some problems, for example, I booked an early morning tuk-tuk to see the sunrise at the temple through the hotel. The hotel staff never arranged it and I was waiting at 5:30am for a tuk-tuk that never arrived. At all times the staff tried to be very helpful and were sincerely apologetic when things went wrong.

- g (10/5): Nice boutique hotel. - you get free pickup and drop off from the airport in a tuk tuk. Very authentic Cambodian ride. You also get free tuk tuk ride to center of town for shopping and restaurants. Kit the receptionist at the hotel welcomes us with drinks, fruits and chips upon arrival. Hotel price very reasonable and comes with daily free breakfast. All staff very helpful with all your questions and needs.

My friend fell sick during the trip and one of the staff came to take care of him and called in a doctor for us. The location is a bit far off from the town and there's nothing much around but the free tuk tuk service the hotel provides is fast and convenient. My only problem was the insects and geckos in the corridors and room and that took a bit of getting used to. But everything else makes up for this. Will definitely recommend this hotel!

The people are young and energetic and always greet you with a smile. Each day when we return to the hotel from temple tours, we were welcomed with cold tower and refreshing drinks. We booked the temple tour packages with driver and guide from the hotel for 2 days and it was worth it; the price is reasonable as compared to outside vendors. Mr Bonn in particular is very helpful and see to our every need. It was beyond our expectations. We would also like to recommend Mr Sok Chan the tuk tuk driver who is always on standby at the hotel. We found him to be honest and humble. Overall a very good experience. Only downside is the location; this is offset by the hotel offering free ride to the city centre, where return trip is US$2.

When returning, do not pay more than USD$2. The tuk- tuk drivers will ask for more, but DO NOT give in (always bargain to USD$2). - Please do not get put off by the distance from town, it is a very nice and quiet hotel. - Hotel is NEW and MODERN. Very stylish. However, we got mosquitoes in our room for two nights because Siem Reap just has a lot of insects. Just inform the reception and they will do their best to eradicate it. - Breakfast is a good spread and reasonable amount of choices. If they run out of food, just tell them and they will replenish it. Conclusion: GREAT hotel. If you feel that anything is not satisfactory during your stay, raise it to the staff and they will TRY THEIR BEST to solve it. (but, I hope that your request is not unreasonable)
- fluffydog50 (10/5): Nice spacious boutique hotel - Hotel was clean, spacious, away from the main tourist spots. This is a very modern & contemporary hotel in a nice quiet area. Their tuktuk will take you to town one way. Breakfast was a simple eggs variety with your choice of ham or sausage. Ham could be improved it was a very thin slice that was rubbery but a minor issue. Got a great deal for the room so I wasn't expecting anything great. ($170 4-night stay taxes included & breakfast) Cambodia is relatively cheap so a 5-star will cost $130/night. I would stay there again!

I don't usually write reviews too but Popular Residence is deserving of one! The hotel is near Pub Street (within 10-15mins?) but there's enough distance apart that it's very peaceful and relaxing. The hotel staff were all very sweet and helpful, and the room was very cosy. I did not try out the pool but it looked very nice. Transportation was easily available, and guides to Angkor Wat were easily attainable from the front desk. The hotel restaurant was good too! I loved the Popular Residence Passion mocktail. If I ever go to Siem Reap again, I would totally stay in this hotel again.

The only downside is that it is located about 5-10 mins' tuk-tuk ride from the town centre but not really that much a problem. Just had to spend a bit of time negotiating with the tuk-tuk driver every nite. LOL. Don't mind staying again.

The room was very large with modern amenities, a balcony overlooking the pool and well air conditioned. The staff packed us breakfast for our 4.30am start to visit Angkor Wat which was a lovely touch. The hotel is a little out of the centre of town but that is not an issue at all with the tuk tuk service they provide into town. We had the most lovely tuk tuk driver employed by the hotel named Phanny who looked after us our entire stay. Would definitely stay here again.

If you like some peace and quiet like me, this is the best place for you. The staff were very friendly. Mr. Bonn, the Rooms Division Manager, was too kind and accomodating enough, and very prompt in answering my questions thru email. The staff (I forgot to ask his name) that welcomed me when I arrived late at night was kind enough to show me to my room and explain the hotel facilities. Breakfast that came free with my room was very delicious and huge in serving. The food at the restaurant were great and in huge serving as well. As I often ate at the hotel, either at the restaurant or room service, in the evening. Rannya from the restaurant was very friendly and often times served my food. The hotel also provided me with a kind driver, Mr. Sovann, who picked me up from the airport and became my driver for visiting the temples. Over-all, it was an amazing first solo travel experience for me. Cambodians are indeed friendly people. I fell in love with the warm hospitality. Great job Popular Residence Team! I will surely come back!

All of them are really friendly and helpful. Provide me with cold towel when I got back to the hotel after a hot sweaty day and even gave me a glass of ice water when I casually commented on the weather!! I very much appreciate all the details the staffs looked into, just to make sure every guests felt welcomed and comfortable :) The room is big and clean as expected. Had my own balcony facing the pool on the 2nd floor. Enjoyed the big and comfortable bed after a long day. Tucked away in a wuiet street not too far from town, there are free one way tuk tuk to old market, which makes me feel safe even going out in the evening. Coming back to the hotel would cost about $2 from around pub street. Overall an amazing experience and would stay again when I am back in Siem Reap!

- kristin (6/5): - Overall, we had a good stay here. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The pool are was nice and had full restaurant/bar service. We booked tours to Angkor Wat and the land mine museum through the hotel with no hassles and a great experience. The hotel is a little remote from the market/bar area but do offer a free tuktuk into town(the ride back will cost you $3.00). The room itself was mediocre. It wasn't the cleanest and had a concrete smell to it. There were also tape marks on the wall from where pictures had once been. The ac took a while to kick in so the temperature was uncomfortable at times.

Every time we walked in to the hotel we were greeted with a smile and a cold wash cloth dipped in lemongrass to refresh us. The room was comfortable. The pool was very nice. And the food at the restaurant was excellent! The breakfast was made to your order and we even had lunch 1 day.
