From the moment we arrived she was kind, funny, attentive and very aware of our needs and wants. She was actually the main highlight of our stay and we hope the management realizes what a gem they have with her. We would stay again just because of Kahlen. The room she gave us (city view) was also excellent and very quiet. On a busy long weekend as it was when we stayed, the parking was barely adequate. We managed to get the last spot when we came in from visiting family around 9pm thank goodness. More parking appears to be necessary.

- Linda (8/5): It was a great place for an overnight visit to a City where we lived for 25 years. - The view was great and the location was perfect. It was an easy walk into town to attend an opening of an art exhibition and over to the Barley Station for dinner. At dusk we walked out to the wharf and watched the grebes perform. It was not possible to adjust the room temperature to a cool enough level for a more comfortable sleep.

- Dale (10/5): We had a great stay and a nice rest on our trip home from Calgary. - The location of the property by the lake was great. I enjoyed the view of the marsh birds from our room, and the king size bed was very comfortable. There is a great walkway outside and a small park next door. I saw lots of mallards, grebes, blue herons and a ring-neck pheasant. The restaurant was a relaxing place for both supper and breakfast, and the staff were super helpful. The best PEI mussels!

The room was spotless, and the view was absolutely beautiful, overlooking a serene lake with lots of birds living among the reeds and grass. The only downside was that we didn’t enjoy the restaurant’s food.

I do hope that, on our next visit, a sauna will be added alongside the jacuzzi. I cannot think of anything that I disliked.

There’s e- bikes that are complimentary for 2 hours with a deposit which we really enjoyed . There’s also paddle boards but we didn’t have a chance to try that out. The room was very clean and was outfitted with a nespresso coffee machine and real glassware which was lovely . There happened to be two weddings at the time we stayed so the pool was closed both times we tried to go down which was very disappointing given it’s an indoor/ outdoor pool which looked incredible .

Pub was nice and server was exceptional. Dining room was lovely and especially nice sitting by the window for breakfast. Nice to have complimentary bikes and we enjoyed the outdoor pool and sitting area on the lawn. Gates around pool could have been nicer. Beverage centre in back by pool would have been exceptionally nice. A/C in room was a bit noisy.

Close to shopping and restaurants and also many good hikes ne - The property is located next to the lake and a bird sanctuary. There are lots of nice walks near by. The hotel itself is conveniently located in a quiet area tgat is an 8 minute walk to town. There is just one elevator and it is very slow

- Boulier (10/5): We were struck by how beautiful the hotel was, and we genuinely felt looked after! - The hotel is beautifully situated beside a stunning marine park, complete with lush gardens, scenic walking trails, and a long, wide wharf. While exploring the trails, we spotted pheasants and a variety of other birds, making for a peaceful and nature-filled experience. In autumn, the trees are a breathtaking mix of green, gold, and red — a perfect seasonal backdrop. The hotel itself is grand and elegant, with exceptionally clean facilities. The pool and hot tub overlook the lake, offering a relaxing spot to unwind with a view. The staff were warm, friendly, and went out of their way to be helpful. A truly memorable stay! It would have been nice if the air hockey and the other games in the arcade were free to play, instead of being coin operated. Although there was still a lot for our teens to do, with an indoor pool connected to the outdoor pool, the hot tub, free e-bikes, and a fire pit!

Unfortunately, it was extremely loud throughout the night with constant door slamming and loud partying from the room above, which made it difficult to get any rest. When I brought this to the front desk’s attention, I was told the hotel was full and that the noise was due to a wedding celebration, so nothing could be done. Overall, while the cleanliness was excellent, the noise level and dated room made for a disappointing stay. I would not stay here again, as there are many other hotel options in the area.

Rooms were very standard hotel vibes, nothing to complain about but equally nothing special. The room was clean. We booked this hotel for a relaxing weekend, specifically to enjoy the outdoor pool, loungers, and spa — but those amenities were closed for weddings during most of our stay, with no prior notice. The pool and spa were off-limits until after 5 pm one day and again from 11 am–3 pm the next, leaving few options in the heat. For $885 for two nights, we expected full access to what was advertised. Staff at reception were polite and offered a breakfast, but management dismissed our concerns and provided no follow-up or compensation. It’s disappointing that paying guests lose access to key facilities for private events.

- Roel (8/5): Zeer goed geslapen en vermaakt in de Gym en Hottub - Het is een mooi hotel met een mooie toegang en parkeerplaats voor de deur. De kamer was mooi met een heerlijk bed. De omgeving is mooi en vanuit de hottub buiten heb je een prachtig uitzicht. De gym overstijgt de normale hotel gym! Deze komt in de buurt van een sportschool keten. Dus je kunt hier echt een goede workout hebben. Al met al echt een prima hotel. Eigenlijk niks op aan te merken.

- Aly (4/5): Would not come back. - Well the hotel is pretty nice in appearance, it is definitely rundown in a lot of areas. Upon first impression it is quite nice. The location being on a bird sanctuary was lovely! Being near the pier and close to town was enjoyable as it was an easy walk to get anywhere. After a long drive, it was much nicer to be able to get out and move your body. We booked through Expedia, and found a super nice room we loved. We were told afterwards the room we booked we couldn't have because we were bringing our dog (which we obviously had noted in the original booking). There is a flawed system here. We didn't get anywhere near the room we wanted, and I had mentioned several times we were coming for a wedding we were both in. They gave us a room with no closet (which is just weird to begin with), and we couldn't hang up our dress clothes, or any other items that we needed. We didn't receive any bathrobes and when we called down for them, they only brought us one. The pool area is quite unkept. There was several bandaids around the area, and lots of spider webs and debris. I know it is an indoor/outdoor area, but come on. We saw people out there cleaning often. How was that missed? They neglected to mention when we checked in that all the doors are locked after 8pm and there is only one random side door that can be used. Even when the concierge saw us trying to figure out how to get back in, he just put his head back down and offered zero assistance. For an overall safety concern, I think that should be mentioned. This hotel is quite expensive for rooms, I have traveled a lot and was quite disappointed.

Two small issues we had was there was a wedding at the hotel on the saturday night and there was nowhere to actually park at the hotel that night , not even on the street Ended up having to park around the corner up the street and walk back to the hotel . The second thing was we couldn't get breakfast at the hotel as they were too short staffed and couldn't handle the volume of people trying to have breakfast so we were turned away and had to go elsewhere for breakfast on the sunday. Everything else was fine .

- Thomas D. (3/5): So much potential wasted, this establishment could have been a lot better with very little work. - Hot tub. Two bunks in the bunk room, which doubles for luggage storage, luggage which you can't look through as the lighting is abysmal. Perhaps we should just use the flashlight on our mobile phones to find our clothes? The bunk room door would not stay closed, I had to hold it closed with a piece of luggage. Hot tub was good but general lack of toiletries was shameful, with nothing at the hot tub and only one small sample of each of the toiletries in the washroom. Considering the room was for two this was skimping at it's worst (or perhaps just plane cheep?). The room was the only one on that side of the floor with a hot tub and it had a street view IF it had been on the other side of the corridor it would have a lake view. One of the most expensive rooms in the hotel and they couldn't place it on the right side of the hotel. Breakfast; I will never understand why anyone thinks that a teapot that hemorrhages tepid water over you has any place in dinning room. The only worthy thing to do would to put out of its misery and relegated it to being a decorative device, of dubious taste, in a goldfish bowl. Tepid water and a "teabag", served on the side, never has and never will constitute a "pot of tea". The failure to understand this obvios failure in ceramics and etiquette and/or to perpetuate it through ignorance, says nothing about their "professionalism". Table set for 2 with only one of each jam/jelly laid out, perhaps we should just share what we are graciously given(?), ridiculous. Breakfast was over $47 for two and the menu clearly states "...served with 2 slices of toast". Cutting a slice of bread into two makes it "two half slices of toast" and never will that be "....2 slices of toast, there is a very real difference. Cruet set had been filled wrong salt in pepper pot and pepper in salt cellar.
