Guest Reviews
- Christine L (10/5): Very clean neat had coffee maker micro and frig in my room the bed was very comfortable - Very pretty elegant Nothing
- Kristin (9/5): Over all good choice - Gabriel was great
Clean hotel
Convenient location
Shower water pressure a plus For $200 a night you had to pay an addition $19 for breakfast
- Gayle (10/5): -
- Laurie (7/5): It was fine, if we stay in the area again though I’m likely to look elsewhere. - Reasonable clean and well appointed. Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Enjoyed the hot tub. Breakfast was way too expensive for what you received. Even dining early it was cold. For 18 plus a plate I would have liked something above the average continental breakfast.

- Nicolas (5/5): Not worth the 180 a night. - Loved the bar, fitness center and pool and hot tub. Its no fault of the hotel, but the amount of children running around and being loud really put a damper on things. I decided to checkout at 4AM due to how uncomfortable I was.
The connected rooms need more sound dampening between the doors, as I could hear everything happening in the room next to mine.
I had to share some personal details on the phone and felt more comfortable sitting in my truck than in the room.
Im also unsure if there was a dog on property but multiple times I heard what sounded like some type of monster barking at clouds.
- Brittany (4/5): Fine for a quick one or two nights at most - Convenient location for what we needed The room smelt musty. The refrigerator was not cold. The remote for the television didn’t work. The pillows were hard as rock.
- Tonya (9/5): -
- Irene (10/5): This was a return to a place I lived 50 years ago and the hotel just improved it - I had a wonderful dinner of ribs my eventually waitress was outstanding nothing
- adam (9/5): I would travel again there one day okay thanks bye - It was the right fit for my travels Nothing
- Guest (8/5): -
- Mark (10/5): -
- Lori (10/5): Great stay - It was very clean and comfortable
- Pushpamali (6/5): - Location was great Ridiculously expensive and not worth the money.
- Jody (9/5): -
- Donald (9/5): We enjoyed the location, cleanliness and quiet atmosphere. - We were met with friendly service at check-in. Our room was clean. We appeciated having a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. We used the hot tub and fitness room. No real complaints but if I am trying to think of something I noticed a squeaky floor in my room
- Robert (10/5): -
- Zofia (9/5): Very pleasant. - Loved the location. Hotel very clean. Beautiful ambiance .Staff very pleasant and helpful. Hot tub water warm, not hot enough to fully enjoy it.
- Kathryn (5/5): The grille restaurant was good, bed was comfortable. Over priced - The room was not worth the money. Wall paper peeling off and bubbling in some areas. Needs work, bed was comfortable Some areas were run down a bit. It was crowded
- Woodward (9/5): -
- Paul (7/5): - The grill was good. It was expensive for an empty hotel. And rooms were very noisy.
- ScottSambadeS (2/5): Bad Form - I booked at the colonial hotel on 2-14-26 till 2-16-26 to ski at mt wachusett. I called with a sick child who needed to go home. I spoke with an arrogant and un empathetic manager named briana. No credit , no flexibility and no decency . If you have a family i would stay somewhere else as i was unapologetically charged for two nights.
- Arleen (8/5): Lovely overnight stay in a picturesque location - With Frank Sinatra singing softly over the speaker system, staying at the Colonial Hotel is like taking a step back in time. It feels like it was once a grand hotel. I had dinner in the dining room. The food was good although the chicken dish was a little heavy on the butter and lacked a vegetable.
- Jared (10/5): - I liked the amenities. Also, the mattress was super comfortable!
- Dorothy Diana (10/5): Well kempt hotel, sauna was great!!! - Cleaned the snow very well when I stayed! Had to pay extra for meals but it’s understandable.
- William (8/5): -
- Edwards (7/5): I don’t think they did enough to make up for the extreme inconvenience. - I always enjoy the place. I go for the hot tub. It’s nice but not super hot. The problem was that there was a fire alarm due to some construction. They said maybe dust. We had to exit the hot tub and go out in extreme cold waiting for the fire department. We asked to extend our check out time for free and they gave us 1 hour.
- Cecilia (10/5): -
- Ryan (8/5): Beautiful property! Will stay again just without purchasing breakfast on site. - Old-school vibe is as really cool! The breakfast was expensive and horrible. Save your money and get breakfast somewhere else. Also, the room smelled a little musty but being able to open the windows was awesome!
- Sean (9/5): -
- Wendy (9/5): -
- Matthew (9/5): -
- Erin (7/5): This was a convenient, clean place to stay in an area with few accommodations to choose from. - The beds were very comfortable, clean facilities. The soap/shampoo/conditioner in the bathtub was very nice. No breakfast- not even coffee and muffins or a cold selection. Peeling wallpaper, outdated carpet causing a musty smell. Sliding door for bathroom was damaged causing myself or must husband to run into the latch many times. Also, the door was not a great door for privacy. Cheap paper products.
- christopher (8/5): -
- Danielle (10/5): Nice hotel. Clean and comfortable beds. -
- Trevor (10/5): -
- Cheryl (10/5): -
- Joanna (4/5): Will not stay in future. - Didn't have breakfast, in view of overall rather negative experience, decided to have breakfast elsewhere. Room. It was dark, uninviting, near the exit door, which slammed until late hours, then too early in the morning, unabling us to have proper rest.
- Deborah (10/5): - The staff were friendly and very helpful and the facilities were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious meal at the on-site restaurant too.

- Daniel (8/5): Although over priced our stay was comfortable. - It was clean and comfortable. The room / bathroom needed updating. For the price I would expect an updated room and bathroom.
- Arner (7/5): -
- Catherine (9/5): -
- Joan (10/5): Gabriel made my stay , great concierge! - It is clean, the staff is kind, the Colonial Grille and Bar are wonderful!
It is beautifully decorated for Christmas.
- Tracy (8/5): Convenient, comfy economical - Loved the xmas decorations! Perfect room for a quick overnight stay Is a little bit dated however that did not affect our stay.
- Darlene (8/5): -
- mike (10/5): - Not super busy
- Ray (8/5): Great option for area, was very well kept and clean. - Clean and well kept, but dated. The restaurant/ bar was nice and food was good. Squeaky floors and small bathroom.
- John (10/5): This will be my destination, went in that area in the future - Beautiful front lobby area Can’t say there was anything I did
- Amie (2/5): Would NOT waste my money on this hotel. - The common areas of the hotel was nice. The bar staff and the per that checked us in and out was extremely nice. Breakfast buffet was served cold @ $18.95 per person I expect it to be hot. The room smelled like dog and the bathroom like cat litter I understand i was in a pet room but it was like they did nothing to try to clean it. The bathroom door in the room is a barn door gives no privacy. Staff didn't seem to know the policies of the hotel. Tried to get room service one night was told had to go to the Grille ourselves because it was shut down the Grille was too busy to do room service when we got there they had 2 full tables and 6 people at the bar. It seemed like the hours of the restaurant and bar depended on what time the employees wanted to stay until so cannot guarantee they will be open when you want to go.
- Isabel (5/5): It works because it is the only place in town - Hate the art. It’s is not very New England or “colonial”. No water in room anymore, not hand lotion. Very bare bones. No breakfast the day after thanksgiving. Hate the pocket doors in rooms. They don’t stay closed and are hard to close. Would be nicer to have a hotel that is walkable to Gardner. Instead of tearing down old buildings in the city. Use these buildings for a boutique hotel
- sue (10/5): - The hotel was anazing
- Victoria (10/5): -
- Destiny (10/5): - The hotel staff were kind and helpful. The room was very clean. Pool area was very clean and nice. The resturant and facilities had great hours.
- S5575UDfrancess (10/5): Beds and pillows so comfortable - Very friendly welcome, lovely quiet hotel in a good location. The beds and pillows were so comfy, probably one of the best. We enjoyed our overnight stay while we were passing through.
- Frances (9/5): Most comfortable beds - Friendly staff. Very comfortable beds and pillows! Lovely quiet location and lots of parking
- Cynthia (8/5): - Clean beds very comfortable pool was warm No fresh brewed coffee
- Jean (8/5): - The hotel was very nice outside and inside. I only stayed 1 night and we got in late. They did allow me to have a late checkout time at noon. (we did leave well before that) We had drinks and nachos in the Gardner grill. Very good drinks and the nachos were also very good. I do wish they provided complimentary coffee for guests in the morning. Instead , you can buy coffee pods for the coffee pot in the hotel room for a couple of dollars each. Overall it was a comfortable night's stay.
- The Oldies (10/5): - The reception staff were superb. In fact, not only were the staff friendly towards the guests, they also seemed to be a really good team that got along together.
The rooms are spacious and contain everything you would need. The seating was really comfortable.
The bar was great and spacious, with reasonably priced drinks and food on offer.
There is plenty of parking.
The public areas are stunning. Nothing at all.
- Felise (10/5): - Staff were helpful. We arrived late and tired. The hot tub was wonderful. The bonus of a washer and dryer was unexpected and welcome. The area is quiet.
- Christopher (8/5): - Nice place
- Joseph (10/5): - Very friendly staff and comfortable beds. I didn’t care for the coffee in the room for the one cup machine.
- Aimee (10/5): - The rooms were nice and updated. Dinner (hamburger and taco salad) was ok, people were nice though.
- Gail (10/5): - We always love staying at Colonial Inn when we visit family in the area. We informed the front desk concerning an issue with a stairwell door and it was fixed by end of day, on a Saturday!!
- Frances (8/5): - Nice rooms and restaurants. People were friendly
- Diane (10/5): - Clean Room, great staff, COMFORTABLE BED!
- Julie (8/5): - Everything was great except they charge you 2 bucks for a coffee. Coffee should be free
- Gary (10/5): - Huge place. Great restaurant and quiet area
- Deborah (10/5): - Fantastic 9 day stay. Room (especially the bed) was very comfortable.
- Alice (10/5): - Great
- Doretta Lee (8/5): - It was very expensive for the time of year and area
- Christopher (6/5): - The hotel is just okay. Definitely dated
- Pam (10/5): Fantastic rest stop. - Very quiet and spacious with appealing surroundings.
- Christopher (10/5): - Everything was great.
- Robert F (10/5): - Very nice
- Jane (10/5): - Very convenient location. Facility is clean and attractive.
Very comfortable.
- Christopher (10/5): - I love this place! I've stayed here twice to break up a long trip. It's the perfect place to relax. It's not within walking distance of anything, but you don't need to leave the hotel - the bar and restaurant in the hotel are perfect. I highly recommend this place.
- Brian (10/5): - Perfect spot if you have any events at Wauchuset Mountain.
- Alan (9/5): -
- Audra (10/5): - Super clean and comfortable room! The staff was friendly and welcoming
- Cheryl (10/5): - Very convenient and clean hotel with well appointed rooms, easy and plentiful parking.
- Sylvia (10/5): - Well run, well kept and friendly staff.
- caribbeanfruit (8/5): Clean and convenient for this area! - Very clean room! And quiet for sleeping. We had a double for family visit to local area. Reminded me of a marriott in terms of room size and linens. Front staff at check was flat and not very friendly. Was told that many third party websites pretend to be the real hotel website when they are not. Guess thats how I ended up booking through a third party that auto charged my CC. Not a huge deal but I wanted to use a different card upon check and could not. Was told to call hotel to make reservation in the future to ensure I wasn't on a third party site. If we come back I will do this for sure because I don't want my CC info all over the place! Info on breakfast on their own website was not too clear and found out in am there was no breakfast available- warning to others there is almost nothing else for miles to grab breakfast! Which also confused me because I had to pay a $100 deposit for "incidentals". For a stay less than 24 hours and a closed restaurant just where exactly did they think I would charge even $50 to the room let alone $100. And it took them 4 business days to clear the hold from my card. Oh well.
- Robson (2/5): - I booked because they have sauna however the Sauna wasn’t working but they only said it when I didn't say anything about. I had to stay there anyway. Next time post it then I can make a decision where I would stay for my whole weekend.
- Jack (6/5): - When I made the reservation I was with the understanding that breakfast was included with each night stay and was told that it was a pay if you wanted a meal and the price for breakfast was a little so we ate elsewhere
- Iñigo (7/5): -
- William (10/5): - We were so impressed by the Colonial. The staff was so friendly and the rooms and facilitiies immaculate. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub area very much. The bar and lounge was a great way to end the day, and the breakfast was delicious. We will be back!
- Vallim (10/5): -
- Danille (8/5): - We have stayed multiple times and will be back. Uts always nice and quiet with clean rooms. The only minor issues we have are there are no hooks to hang towels. They do have dinner at the on-site restaurant but a hit or miss.
- Chris (6/5): - Nice location, attractive building. Very over priced, AC broken, Wifi did not work, no USB connections, staff uninterested, no breakfast available. Room was next to exit where all staff used to smoke dope so constant noise and smell of marijuana!
- Natalia (10/5): - Beautiful hotel with very clean and comfortable rooms. The atmosphere was relaxing, and everything felt well maintained. Perfect stay!
- Mitzi (10/5): - The pool area was absolutely amazing! Restaurant was fabulous!
- Tracy (10/5): - A lovely spot
