Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I like that it was right in the entertainment district
- Eric (10/5): - Good location, nice clean apartment, everything you need and more
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not an experience I want to repeat - After booking a hotel on hotels.com I was surprised to find out I had not booked a hotel. When I punched in the address into Waze, I could not find it because I was looking for a hotel. I call the contact number on my invoice and the voice message I heard was of someone that was on vacation and not to leave a message. Although, a gentleman called me back not 10 minutes after I left the message and he was able to help me find my key and locate the building. I was unable to obtain parking even though it was offered to me. Internet did not come with the rental, which made things difficult as this was a working visit.
Upon arriving at the apartment, a strong, unpleasant odour greeted me and it was very warm. I was unable to use the thermostat as it appeared broken. I was able to leave the sliding down open but did close it when I went to bed. Making it very hot when I awoke. All in all not an experience I would like to repeat.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This place was clean and well kept. I would not hesitate to stay there again as it had a real comfortable feel. The only thing was an extra towel would have been nice.
- Flo (8/5): - Decent place and near to everything ...
Secuirity
- Donald C (6/5): - The condo was clean but the carpets were filthy and need to be replaced. They were really off putting! The construction outside started early and was jarring. Please add tissues to the unit.
- Bev (8/5): - I loved the space itself . Balcony was not furnished . Carpet in bedroom was in need of cleaning . Some light bulbs need replacing . Bathroom was very clean .
We had an issue with the tv and we contacted the agency who rents the apartments but no one got there to fix the tv .
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The bed was very lop sided and the frame underneath didn't fit the bed. Took forever to work the tv properly. Remote wasn't working. And the bathroom shower was leaking on ceiling.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Livingsuites Toronto - Overall, great place to stay in downtown Toronto. Modern looking building and suite. The location of the property is excellent, walking distance to CN tower and other attractions. The suite itself needs better maintaining: broken closet mirror door, deep crack in drywall, burnt out light at the nightstand, visible old spills on doors and trim. Also, getting access to the property is a bit confusing since you have to use a key-dispensing machine at the pizzeria around the corner. Not sure why it couldn't be given out by the concierge at the front desk. Another thing I didn't like was that the suite was cleaned and stocked between the stays rather than daily. The management really needs to reconsider their approach since they charge you a cleaning fee for the stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Spacious, close to downtown, kitchenette, ensuite to one bedroom, dishes, cookware provided,
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This was the perfect place for a young couple traveling on a budget. If you are looking for a place with normal hotel services, this property is NOT for you. THIS IS NOT A HOTEL, it is a unit in an apartment building and the building and its staff have no affiliation with Livingsuites. Because of this, check-in and getting in touch with Livingsuites representatives is a bit more challenging than with a hotel, but certainly not impossible. I read a lot of reviews complaining about the check-in experience, but as long as you thoroughly read the emails Livingsuites sends you beforehand they cover all of the necessary information to make your check-in go as smoothly as possible, and we did not have any issues. The apartment was clean with plenty of extra sheets, pillows and blankets available. There were limited towels but a washer and dryer in-unit if we had needed to stay longer, and shampoo, soap, etc. were provided. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking supplies and a dishwasher, and we easily could've made a full meal there if necessary. The furniture and decorations were cheap, but served their purpose. This was nothing fancy, but the location was incredible (5-minute walk to CN Tower, Aquarium, many tourist attractions, restaurants, and bars, and accessible from the streetcar service) and the price absolutely could not be beat for this location. Overall we had a pleasant stay in a clean, functional apartment that served our purposes for the long weekend.
- charlie (8/5): pretty satisfied -- I'd stay here again - In general I'd stay here again. the condition of the condo is not unlike a tired hotel room. it's comfortable enough. I might suggest a desk? Bed is really firm -- a bit too firm but not to the degree that you can't sleep on it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was very helpful and everything was easy to find
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent location, apartment size is wonderful and so are the amenities. Our only complaint is the blinds in both bedrooms don’t close. As a result we were uncomfortable changing and the rooms get too bright in the morning.
- Jodie (8/5): No frills, great location and perfectly good unit. - Slightly complicated to get the keys - have to walk around the corner to the key box but not terribly inconvenient. The FOB wasn't working to get in but there are 24/7 attendants for the building and they let me in and fixed the issue eventually.
The unit was comfortable and in a fantastic location, was perfectly fine, clean and great to walk around. Would recommend for short business stays.
- Duncan (8/5): Great hotel alternative - Entett - Room needed hand towels in the bathroom but otherwise great.
- Gary (8/5): - Nice place, bed was a little uncomfortable, the parking was very tight but do-able, and the gym was nice. Good location.
- Michael (2/5): Survived this Hotel...I guess? - Was given improper information prior to check in about suite from Hotels.com. There was dried blood on the futon which was also placed dangerously close to the only entrance/exit. Was misinformed about payment and then was told that I would not get any money back if there was an issue at check in. There was no spare sheets or blankets for sleeping arrangements. There was no method to contact the concierge from the room. There was no parking which was contradictory to the information on the Website. We were only given 1 key despite having 4 occupants of the room which was difficult to coordinate. We had to give them the only key to our room to replace the mattress that had blood on it and the replacement was abismal at best. I would not recommend them again as my stay was very Unsatisfactory.
- John (4/5): - No Keys at checkin given stayed in residents building, mess up there, it was resolved but had to wait for someone from livingsuites to go there and late at night tired from flight, having to truck luggage around and kill 1 hour to check in not fun. Afterwards keys programmed wrong didn't work for door, same thing, couldn't leave work meetings to get them reprogrammed . Building Security head made it very clear to building Desk people DO NOT HELP OUT any people staying there thru Living and only help residents
- Nicholas (8/5): Decent Family Accomodation - More an AirB&B than a hotel this is a a couple of condos in a downtown tower. As such some of the usual hotel amenities are lacking such as concierge and other such services. This made check-in a bit clumsy but otherwise wasn't a major issue.
The place itself was excellent for a family with two bedroom and two bathrooms with full kitchen. My only significant complaint was the fact that the shower curtain rod in one of the bathrooms had fallen down.
All in all a pleasant place to call home for a long weekend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We wish we would have known that this was not a hotel and we needed to bring our own soap etc. The security guards for the property were unhelpful and rude. No concierge.
- Carmen (6/5): Not all it appeared to be. - Bed was comfortable. Condo was relatively clean. Rugs were badly stained. Walls were dirty. There is not an indoor pool like noted. Just a hot tub. Good location for Roger's center and restaurants. Only 1 roll of toilet paper in room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property was clean but it needs some “TLC”. Most of the light bulbs were burnt out, light switches and microwave needed repair. The bedroom carpet was gross and there was something splattered all over the bedroom wall. Will a little “love” this place could be so much more....
- Konstantin (2/5): - The place had no wifi and the bathroom light didn’t work. They never responded to emails or cared about calls. I’ll never use Expedia again if I am not refunded
- Verified traveler (6/5): Location is great - We have Rogers as the WiFi connection and it was terribly slow
- Roly (8/5): 1 Bedroom in Downtown Toronto - Price was less than a hotel room in the area but it should be noted that this is not a hotel. We reserved online -- management is not very good at returning e-mails. To check in, you go to the lobby and get a key from security. There's a fob which opens a couple of doors and a room key. Parking is an issue. Living Suites does offer $25 per night but although I asked for it there was no reply. There is a paid lot behind the building (Mercer Street) which charges $15 overnight or $35 for 24 hours. There's another lot about one block away on Wellington. Room was fabulous. Hardwood floors, full kitchen with granite counters, a kitchen island, washer/dryer, big screen TV, balcony (view of two buildings under construction) and small bedroom. Bed was too bouncy for my taste.
- Ron (10/5): Excellent suite good location. - As with any city you may experience some vehicle street and nearby construction noise but did not interfere with sleeping at night. The major downfall though is that there is no onsite parking. However, There are paid parking areas within a couple of minutes walk.
- Jonathan (8/5): Cozy Condo - Cozy condo in a prime downtown location. Great place for a home base if you’re in town for any type of event. Close walking distance to many places.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Downtown access - Great property right in the downtown core. I did have some trouble at check in, which took approximately 30 minutes to resolve, but other than that, the property was clean and well situated and met my needs for my business stay in Toronto.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Near MTCC - Great property in the downtown core of Toronto. I was attending a function at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and this property is only one block away from the facility. Room was clean and tidy. Would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good value; slightly dated but clean. Greater attention could be paid to certain items such as working blinds and replacing light bulbs.
- sandi joseph (6/5): Nice condo - It was a very homey place. Love the fact it was furnished. Down part was, there was not enough face cloths for shower nights for my kids.
- Clive (10/5): Great - Loved it great location, clean ,lots of space, great kitchen, comfy bed hope to go again
- Pedro (4/5): Could be better taken care of - The location was great, but we were quite disappointed as we had dirty towels, broken table and broken blinds. These are items that should have high priority in order for customers to give better reviews.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place! - In the 2 days of my stay (7/12 - 7/14/2017), the rooms were nice and clean. It was a great location: close to the Toronto attractions and very comfortable.
- William R (6/5): - The apartment was scarce on amenities but clean, spacious, and well located. On site staff were useless.
- Darcy (10/5): - Excellent location!! Very close to everything
- Rae (6/5): - Very good location! Every thing was within walking distance. I did not like the fact that they charge extra for daily parking!!! Also we got locked out of our room the first night & a locksmith had to be called at 10:30 at night to replace the whole door knob! However, this was taken care of fairly quickly after we brought it to staff's attention.
- EDWIN (10/5): Worth it! - Safe surroundings, would return again!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not the best stay! - Trip was good, but hotel services was not! Are electronic key never worked to get into our buildings. Living suits said they would take care of it and they never did! Not to mention they are hard to get a hold of. Luckily there was a hotel security at the front or we would have been left in the cold. Also by the sounds of things this Is not the first this has happened. They are not very organized for guests arriving. Not my best stay at a hotel, very disappointed!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location. - Within a few blocks of major attractions and sports venues
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice place but damaged walls in hall and living room. This wasn't repaired , some plastered but not painted, others not even plastered. The bathroom walls needs to be cleaned and blinds in bedroom were quite dusty. For the price I paid for two days including parking I was very disappointed.
- Barry (8/5): Great location - Just remember you can't check your bags. No concierge
- Verified traveler (4/5): Great location. Just plain dirty. - No toilet paper, light bulbs burned out, sticky kitchen counter, shower curtain with brown edges and soap, hair ... need I say more.... stay elsewhere.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Backup scenario - The evening staff was too busy focusing on their job that they omitted to make me feel welcome.
No instructions on how to operate the TV and a bunch of remote controls.
During the reservation it was not clear if the rate was for one night or for my total 2 nights stay. When I completing the booking, I realized the mistake I made, they did not want to cancel my reservation. I would have cut my stay by one night.
- C (10/5): condo close to everything - Great fully furnished condo downtown with full bathroom, full kitchen and the best gym I've ever seen at a hotel!
- sales manager (6/5): Great location, extremely busy area , lots to do - Parking was expensive, $40.00 a night for overnight parking near hotel, should have been available with our room rental. I will not stay here again because of this, should have been included
- Charlene K (8/5): This is not a hotel! - Our stay was comfortable, as it was a full access apartment. However, I really think that the description through Hotels.com should stress that this was NOT a hotel, and as such, did not have room service or cleaning of any type. This is an apartment, well equipped, but still an apartment. We had three people staying, and the sleeping arrangements were not adequate. There was a very comfortable queen sized bed, but we were led to believe that the couch made into a hide-a-bed. It did not! There was some sort of single folded futon mattress that could have been used for the third person, but there really wasn't any room to spread it out. There were adequate linens for the bath and bedroom. The place was very clean, however, in addition to the room rate, a $50 (Canadian dollars) cleaning deposit was required. That was not mentioned in the Hotels.com description. The gym offered was very good quality, and certainly much better than the regular workout rooms most hotels provide. So that was a plus.
- SARINA E (6/5): Pay $50 cleaning fee...for a dirty shower! - Pros:
Spacious room, good location, in-room laundry, kitchen
Cons:
Filthy shower (hair, dirt, and what looked like toothpaste on the shower walls, extensive dark mold on the grout)
The condo needs maintenance (chipping paint, large hole in the wall behind the entrance door, tons of nail holes)
Cheap finishings (considering the room is 200+per night)
Stained carpeting in the bedroom (black/brown dirt on white carpeting is pretty egregious)
This was my second time staying in a Livingsuites condo, and in the last place the washrooms were also dirty. Why do they charge a separate cleaning fee if they're not going to clean?
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It won't happen again.
