- diana (9/5): A pleasurable experience would definately recommend - The white buck was in beautiful surroundings and the grounds really well kept!. They up graded our bedroom has it was my husbands birthday, which was a lovely thing to do. The staff couldn't do enough for you, you didn't have to wait very long for food and drink either. Asking any questions they would come back with a prompt answer. All in all a pleasurable experience..would definitely recommend Perhaps more vegetarian options on the menu

- Adrian David (7/5): Hotel top, room flop! - The hotel is in a scenic area with lots of hiking possibilities nearby. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the service very friendly. Guests with allergies are well catered for. Our hotel room was situated next to the delivery entrance so that we were woken up early must mornings during our 5 night stay. The daily cleaning of our room was very basic.
- Cheryl (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Paula (10/5): Can't wait to return !!! - A beautiful hotel in an amazing location. Staff super friendly. Breakfast outstanding. Lovely little touches, complimentary beer, filtered water, shortbread and slippers in the room. Complimentary doggy package, bowls, mat, treats, a ball and own towel. We only booked for one night, we wanted to stay an extra, but fully booked 😆 Not surprised as an awesome hotel.

The extra little touches in the room like the homemade biscuits and a bottle of beer. - Emma (10/5): Another enjoyable stay at this lovely hotel. - We have stayed at The White Buck before as it is in a great location for cycling. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast. On check out the receptionist offered to get us some food to take with us, which was a really nice touch. Minor point but the dinner menu was a little disappointing for our tastes. The quality of the food we ordered was very good though.
- Robert (9/5): Very enjoyable - We would highly recommend. - The hotel and facilites are excellent. Many hotels state 'dog friendly' but at the White Buck they truely are and go the extra mile to cater for pets... and their owners! Our short stay was very relaxing, the breakfast and restaurant food was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable with very good facilities - we will return in the near future.
- Pat (8/5): - Excellent location. Lovely outside gardens Rooms basic. Reception not open until 9am

- sumita (10/5): Fabulous hotel with Amazing staff and superb food ! - Beautiful property in the midst of the forest , comfortable , good food and Amazing staff ! Good parking . Easy walk to Burley Old building so floorboards can get a bit noisy
- Nahda (9/5): -
- Floris (9/5): - good size rooms
nice restaurant
good atmosphere noise from the neighbours upstaires
- Gemma (10/5): Perfect hotel after exploring the new forest working up an appetite and needing a rest - Incredible idyllic hotel and restaurant.
We had a beautiful room with a roll top bath was just what we needed after exploring the New Forest
- Victoria (10/5): - Close to the place we were visiting.
Lovely breakfast, friendly helpful staff Mattress was too soft, but that's just a personal preference due to health reasons
- Rahele (7/5): - The location was excellent. In the middle of the New Forest, surrounded by absolute beauty. The room was clean. Tea coffee water in the room. Breakfast was very good. Dinner also good though expensive Upon arrival, I found the attitude of the receptionist to be unwelcoming. The manner in which I was addressed made me feel uncomfortable and dissatisfied with the initial interaction. In my experience, hospitality staff are typically trained to create a welcoming atmosphere, which unfortunately was not reflected in this instance.
Additionally, the room provided did not meet expectations. The shower was partially broken, and the toilet door—made of frosted glass—did not close properly, leaving a noticeable gap. This was particularly uncomfortable given that I was staying with a child. Furthermore, the window shutters did not adequately block light or sound, which affected comfort and privacy.
On our first night, there was also significant disturbance from a group of children in the garden who were shouting, screaming, and hitting furniture with sticks. I made several attempts to contact reception by calling there from my room, but received no response. Ultimately, I had to take my child—who was struggling to sleep—down to the bar to alert staff. It then took some time before the situation was resolved and the noise subsided.
I hope this feedback is helpful and will be taken into consideration to improve future guest experiences.
- Guy (10/5): - They looked after us and the dog very well. I can only recommend
- BARRY (9/5): Always friendly and welcoming. -
- Kerry (7/5): - The location was great.
The food was exceptional. Room could have been better - carpets a bit worn, no hand soap until we asked for some and shower was difficult to keep in the tray without spraying across the bathroom floor.
- Kerry (10/5): -
- Dan (6/5): Pleasant and comfortable despite room issues I wouldn't tolerate for a second night. - The location, staff, and general atmosphere was more than pleasant. The room. While perfectly clean and more than adequately equipped, my room had floor height changes and poor lighting options to make it convenient, comfortable and safe for a one-time, one-night stay. I had a heavy but ultimately harmless landing after failing to remember there were steps down into the bedroom and there weren't great options to light the room without using the main lights. In addition, there was another room above mine and the noise was quite disruptive. Footsteps, creaking, thuds, and talking were all audible from 4am. If a bedroom can't be a quiet environment from 11pm-7am, it's probably not fit for purpose (room 19, named Eling).
- Jamie (10/5): -
- katie (7/5): -
- Owen (6/5): Lovely apart from this very disappointing setback. I won't go back. - Fabulous hotel and the room was great despite the squeaky floor. Lovely shower too and nice view over the garden. Didn't have evening meals. Best stocked bar I have ever seen in a UK hotel. Unfortunately no bar stools. Supposedly dog friendly hotel set up their completely covered breakfast buffet in part of the room where I collected items in several trips on Saturday morning with my dog by my side, unhindered by staff. On the next day, staff said dogs weren't allowed in that area and she was rudely insistent. I walked out.
- Laura (8/5): We had a short stay and had a really lovely time. The food was delicious and the staff were very helpful - The location was amazing

- Paul (9/5): -
- Alison (10/5): Comfortable and special! - This hotel is gorgeous, casual yet special N/a
- dvaid (9/5): The white Hart continues to be our perfect short stay spot in the new forest. - Perfect hosting as usual by all staff Bed a little less comfortable than normal
- Brian (9/5): Very Comfortable stay - Very good breakfast with plenty of choice Very minor mention, the towels could have been a bit better
- Geoff (7/5): Great hotel in a wonderful location, food could be much better given the price. - The location is wonderful. The hotel is tastefully decorated and blends with the "forest" theme. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The restaurant food was poor. My wife's pork was inedible, overcooked and hard. When she complained the manager rightly offered to replace it or remove it from the bill. However her approach was fairly dismissive, and certainly not friendly.
- Claire (10/5): Definitely coming back from another stay. - Fab stay in beautiful setting Weather, lol. Rained.
- Kate (10/5): Simply stunning. - The lovely staff were so attentive, rooms were super comfy, breakfast absolutely delicious. It felt so safe and calming. Nothing
- Natalie (10/5): Ideal , comfy , clean great staff , incredible location and fantastic food - Everything was fantastic . The staff were as helpful as the hotel was nice . Nothing
- Kristina (10/5): - Friendly staff, excellent bed, very good restaurant especially breakfast choices. There didn't seem to be a lift. Stairs a bit steep.

- Dawn (8/5): Lovely and we’ll be back - We’ve never stayed in a pub before, although this us definitely more than just a pub. The location was lovely, close to Burley but in a quiet location surrounded by trees and lovely wildlife. The room itself surpassed expectations. Everything was great, really no complaints. Staff, friendly & helpful. Bed comfy, shower was hot & powerful and breakfast amazing Honestly we can’t think of anything
- Gill (8/5): Had a lovely trip with good food and exceptional breakfast. - Position in the Forest. Restaurant space. Sound insulation wasn’t good in the room, could hear next door.
- SueSue (9/5): - Location
Fireplace Room was a bit cold

- Sue (8/5): Comfortable, quiet and great food - Huge room, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast and dinner. Cozy bar, huge car park.
Extra heater gave a great blast of heat. Room 14, Glass door to bathroom and shower tricky to operate.
- David (8/5): Gem in the heart of the forest just let down by a few nigly things. - Location food and service. Nice big room with free parking. Excellent breakfast. Very small bathroom and a bit noisy at night until bar closed.

- Denise (7/5): Go for the breakfast and room but don't expect eye contact from the staff! - Very good breakfast, clean and quiet room, EV charging. Other than the breakfast waitress, the staff were totally disinterested.
- Sam (10/5): -
- Michael (9/5): -
- Jennie (8/5): Lovely hotel, lovely staff and great food - Property was lovely
Lovely location
Very inviting reception and lounge area
Restaurant was great
We stayed in room 5 which was lovely
I can’t fault the stay There were only 2 waitresses on the Sunday evening and they were run off their feet, bless them but did a fantastic job
No lock on bathroom door in the room
Pretty cold even with the added heater switched on so much so that every felt a little damp
- Singh (9/5): Luxurious and lovely -
- Fran (9/5): Lovely break at this fab hotel in New Forest - We had a fabulous break at this hotel. The atmosphere was lovely, the food was good, and the staff were warm, helpful throughout our stay. It made for a really relaxing and enjoyable few days. Breakfast was excellent.
There are just a couple of small areas where some updating and maintenance would enhance the experience even further, but these certainly didn’t detract from what was overall a great stay.
We’d happily return and would definitely recommend to others looking for a comfortable, welcoming getaway. The only area for improvement would be some minor maintenance in the bathroom — a small cosmetic refresh to the ceiling would really enhance the overall feel of the room. It certainly didn’t spoil our break, just something that would take things from very good to excellent.

- Laura (10/5): A wonderful stay at The White Buck - Beautiful place, great location, comfortable room - I had such a great sleep, welcoming staff and delicious food. I had a roast dinner (lamb shoulder and apple and plum crumble) which was beautiful! Breakfast the following morning was delicious as well! Couldn't fault my stay, will be recommending to others. N/a
