- Aurora (3/5): Ya ni la friegan . - El club de playa sunio Te cobran por usar las instalaciones del club de playa , aunque estés hospedado , la alberca del hotel, no es climatizada, es mas bien chapoteadero , el yacusi no sirve , las instalaciones son viejas. Si quieres usar la alberca, camastros ,yacusi, tienes que pagar ,50.00 dlls por persona extra , descontando 40.00 dlls por consumo obligatorio.

There were a lot of food choices since its right in the city. We were really looking forward to the pool and hot tub but both were cloded during our stay without any prior notice. - rosiez462 (10/5): BBF retreat - I came out to Rosarito with BFF Stephanie and my girlfriend Samantha recommended us to stay at Castillo Del Mar and suggested to get a massage at the spa with Gabriela. She spoke highly of Gabriela and the hotel and I’m so so impressed and loved this resort. I’m definitely coming back with my whole family to enjoy this resort. I enjoyed the massage, if you fall asleep, and wake up relax then that means the masseuse did a great job, you got to try her! Thank you Gabriela and everyone at Castillo Del Mar 💞
- Murty (1/5): Rooms and bathrooms are Very dirty , staff if rude and unhelpful. - Only the location. The bathrooms are discussing, moldy , smelly . They didn’t clean the shower, the curtain had hair dye on it and all over the shower walls . My shower was also clogged. Floors were dirty as well.

I asked for 30 mins and those 30 mins were painful but so good at the same time. She got rid of the knots I had on my shoulders and she walked me thru every message, explaining why it hurt and how to message at home to feel better. Im leaving fresh and ready for work. She even gave me a few mins extra of neck massage with vibrator. I will definitely be coming back when I come back to Castillos del Mar Hotel just 3hr 30 mins from LA

- 437cyndil (8/5): Old rooms BUT CLEAN - we had to stay in a hotel overnight at the spur of the moment, so Hotel Del Mar was our choice. Their location is fantastic. The room was old BUT the linens were fresh and CLEAN, the floors clean, the bed was decent, the pillows were good, the water was hot, bath towels were thick (as well as the toilet tissue) , plus the room included a full cooked breakfast at Sunio restaurant which was fabulous. The room sits right on the ocean (away from any street noise) with very nice private beach below. There were 2 clean patio chairs and a table outside the slider from the room The only thing that bothered me was the lack of being able to secure the bedroom window near the patio...I want to be able to leave my room & not worry about the security of the contents (laptop) I leave there.

Ms Gabby offered a wonderful relaxing environment and a wonderful massage to us both. We loved the attention to detail and to be able to relax. The staff is friendly and attentive, especially Geylet, who made our experience even more special. The food was delicious, and the view is simply breathtaking. - Verified traveler (2/5): - We checked in around 4pm 9/3 We were told there was no power/electricity in the area , but should be coming back in an hour. We were giving the key to our room and the room was an oven. We left to have dinner hopping it would be back on when we return. Well it wasn’t. Room was HOT we opened the balcony doors only to be bitten over 20 times by mosquitoes. Power didn’t come back until around 5 am. We were so tire we wanted to stay in to rest and watch Tv. However we couldn’t watch tv because it wasn’t working. We got a message that it would be fix by that evening which was Thursday and then got another message that it would get fixed until today Friday. What would be the point of that if we were checking out today. 😡 we had the same problem with the TV last year when we stayed there. I understand the power was out of their control , but they could’ve called me to let me know what was going on and let me decide if I still wanted to stay there. I have a skin condition and extreme heat flares it. It was a very bad experience.

The room was super dirty,with lots of sand,hair and mouse poop,yes there was a mouse in the room. I complain with front counter,couldn’t get my refund I only were offered a different room. Never staying here.

- Maria (6/5): - So many pros and cons about this property and stay! Overall, we had a nice time, staff were all kind and helpful and very hardworking! The facility needs some help and things between the Sunia side and the Hotel side weren't always clear. Pros: Lovely location, wonderful people. The property was beautiful, very picturesque, the beach access was delightful but steep stairs to get down. The included breakfasts were freshly cooked to order, we never opted for the chilaquiles, but the eggs and ham with fresh veggies, beans and tortillas was plenty of food. The restaurant views were lovely, great cocktails as well. There are a couple restaurants and shops within walking distance, totally worth checking out! Good to Knows: The rooms were simple, no hooks or places to hang towels, no wash cloths, but generally pretty. Our door opened up to the 1st floor yard which we loved. The Sunia beach was often occupied by cruise tour groups, had all the beach chairs, toys, loud music etc, whereas the hotel beach has no tables or chairs to use but was much more quiet and peaceful. The pool was nice, but closes early, and the hot tub was out of order. The bed was not bad but had an uneven frame, we crammed some tissues under a corner so it didn't rock every time we moved or sat down. Cons: The hotel is generally run down. We had no hot water in the shower (5 nights!), it was reported, but never fixed. Rules for the Sunia side weren't clear, some days they let us be there, some not.
