Guest Reviews
- gatlason (8/5): Had a nice couple of days in this hotel. Service is very nice and friendly. Good and the rooms are ok. Hotel interior old fashio - Nice hotel in Subic right on the beech.
- Nadeem (4/5): - Way too expensive for what it is. Very noisy rain soumd on roof. Noisy bar downstairs with loud music late at night. Got food poisoning.
- Explorer08615351233 (10/5): Amazing spot! - I highly recommend this place. Perfect for a gateway trip with loved ones! The food and the staff are all welcoming. I will definitely go back.
- S3713WQchrisg (4/5): Why would you ? - Don’t bother booking this hotel , it’s over priced , poorly run , tired and overall underwhelming.
Qudos to the housekeeping staff who were lovely .
If your eating in the restaurant make sure your food is actually cooked before eating it , my wife certainly regretted not doing so with raw prawns served up .
- sherylln2024 (10/5): One of the best hotels in Subic! - We like the complimentary drinks always available near the front desk plus the complimentary snacks in the hotel restaurant and complimentary room snacks and drinks serve by the hotel housekeeping staff. I like the scents of their handwash soaps & lotion. We like the design of the room and all the things they provide inside the room. We also like the lighthouse at night.
- Constante (10/5): - Easy access to most everything.
- Franco (10/5): - I like the staff and the excellent customer service.
- DOMINICK (10/5): - The hotel is upgraging the properrt which os great to see. The staff are friendly, professional and extremely helpful. The hotel has a great location and is walking distace to shopping, restaurants and music venues. The view from my room was amazing. Watching the sunrise over the mountains and the bay was the perdexr way to start the morning.
The buffet breakfast offered a varity of food options.
I would stay here again.
- Christopher (10/5): - The staff was impeccable! They were very attentive to my needs/request. I highly recommend this hotel when traveling to Subic Bay, Philippines.
- Katherine (6/5): - The property is great size but was not well maintained. This could be a five star hotel if they cleaned up the outside area and beach. Add some lounge chairs and umbrellas on the beach it could be fantastic. Staff were so helpful and kind!
- Marcial (6/5): - Food was good. Service and staff was excellent. Facilities can be better.
- jnRadcliffe (8/5): Good resort on the saefront . - Very helpful and friendly staff. Helped with seeing places and what to see. Two large beds and a good sized bathroom. Clean and comfortable. Lift was out of action when we were there but the exercise did us good. Good breakfast. Accommodating restaurant staff.
- James (8/5): - Large bedrooms. Clean reasonably large bathroom. Staff very helpful.
- Kim (10/5): - Perfect getaway for me as i was visiting my friend in Angeles City and decided to take a vacation from my vacation from Pampanga
- G3822FFdavidp (10/5): New Years Eve Celebrations - Great service and New Years Eve Party would recommend anyone to book this hotel first class service well situated within in walking distance to many restaurants, management at the hotel are really the best and will assist with any of your requirements.
- JULIE (10/5): - H
- Culture34587638473 (10/5): This place is awesome - I would like to commend the staff for the very memorable experience we had during my mom's birthday celebration. It truly was one of the happiest moments that we will cherish for a long time. Everything went smoothly and all my family members had nothing but praises. From the cruise to the room accommodations and especially the breakfast.
Special mention to the housekeeping staff member who found my valuables and turned it over to the front desk. You are life saver.
- Constante (8/5): - Quiet and safe
- edmundp550 (10/5): Great views and excellent service! - We stayed from Feb 20-22 with our friends and were assigned the 3rd floor overlooking the beach. We were assigned a corner room facing the sunrise and the sunset views which were awesome. The rooms were very clean and truly enjoyed the restaurant where we ate dinner there both nights including the acoustic musical entertainment. Most of all, we really appreciated the kindness, warmth and hospitality of all the staff from the front desk, the room staff and the restaurant, including the pool staff. Cant wait to come back there next time!
- 193kail (4/5): Dated and overpriced. - Pros

Cons
We picked the oceanview room and the room is dated and needs renovation. Over priced.
Needs to have more power outlets.
Needs to have more hanging areas for robes and towels inside the bathroom.
They charge us for cappucino during breakfast. Other hotels weve been to offer this for free with the breakfast and those hotels are much cheaper in comparison to Lighthouse.
Staff in the restaurants needs to be retrained.
Overall the hotel is pricey!
- Mauidud (10/5): Subic Bay recreation and accommodation - A funtastic location and very luxurious place at reasonable price. Located on beach inside Subic Bay Freeport. Has swimming pool. A sailing and boating connection. Really friendly people and staff. Close to live music venues. Close by is Network, a business with many water activities. Short distance to an ocean adventure park, tiger safari park or zoo like park. A few good malls a short walk. Many restaurants close walk. Texas Joe. My favorite.
- Christina (10/5): - Staff were amazing!!
- Samuel (6/5): - One of the best hotels in Subic Bay Freeport area.
- Discover15147402741 (10/5): Nice stay - We enjoyed our stay in Light House Marina, so cozy and the food was magnificent. Staff were all friendly and hospitable, always their to adhere to our requests. Would love to go back some other time and preferrably stay a little longer if ever. Thank you for the nice accommodation!
- Redentor (8/5): - The Lighthouse has the best location, on a corner lot with access to the beach.. it’s walking distance to other restaurants and bars altho The Lighthouse has its own restaurant and bar as well. If I have to suggest anything, the surrounding area can be spruced up a little, professional landscaping is needed, pool needs repainting and restaurant staff needs training. As in every establishment, some are good workers while some are less attentive, needs to be called every time we run out of drinks and food. Overall was satisfied with our stay..
- georgec448 (2/5): Stay Elsewhere - Stay elsewhere. Newer hotels in Bario Barrto. Desk clerk girls are air heads so watch your bill. They tried to charge me for a guest that I never had. One of my group members had a guest sit across from me at breakfast and the dining manager assumed it was my guest without asking and attempted to bill me 1500 PESOS. MONEY GRUBBING HOTEL.
- Veronica (10/5): - We have a happy experienced by Lighthouse marina hotel, staff is amazingly friendly ,helpful and hospitable very accommodating place is super! Except we can’t swim on the beach! Food is also super on our Xmas eve celebration🎄recommended👍
- Andrew (8/5): - Staff was very attentive. I liked the complementary hot coco and sweets after turn down service at night. Buffet breakfast was sufficient. Room was very spacious. Bathroom had enough amenities. Bottled water was aplenty.
Downside is the beach is not really swimmable because water is not as clean due to proximity to the port. Pool is bit on the small side.
- Jason (10/5): - Very clean and the staff was very helpful
- ennairdaa (10/5): Very relaxing - We’re in a mining company. We use to travel all over rhe Philippines almost every month. This hotel is one of the best, cozy place, very relaxing environment and with friendly staffs. Highly recommended.
- Julers01 (8/5): Stellar staff make this hotel shine - Staff here are friendly, kind and do their utmost best w a smile. They delayed building work for us, gave an upgrade and discount, were at our room door/table asap for each request, and had someone monitor the pool for safety even if it was just our son swimming.
Hotel is a bit dated but clean, we loved the view and jacuzzi in our room. One thing that could be better - glass sliding doors don’t lock properly and are not soundproof either; live music from bars nearby is so loud until 1230 each night. We used ear plugs and headphones.
Subic itself pales in comparison to other beach towns (abandoned, run down buildings) but Rali’s and Kim’s were lovely spots for meals. Hotel’s Sands resto was good too.
We went to Anvaya for the nicer, private beach but local cleaners swept the public beach by the hotel daily so rubbish was not too bad. Local government should improve the beach further, it has potential.
- PGaroundtheworld (10/5): Weekend Bike Trip - Stayed for 3 days (Fri-Sat), Hotel is great for cyclists because you can bring your bike up to your room, only challenge is the elevator can only fit 2 pax, that means 1 person with your bike at a time.
Breakfast was great and really helpful staff as well. definitely would be our option if we decide to stay for the weekend in Subic in the future.
- VENUS (8/5): - I wish the place has a gym
- OmegaExplorer (10/5): Great stay - I stayed for one night and this hotel did not disappoint. The location is perfect and the room is large. Lighthouse is a good place to stay in Subic. I had lunch, breakfast and a drink at the bar. The food and service was good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Honest and Great Service - Great Service! Unfortunately left a phone at the hotel, reception called up and send the phone to our residence. Appreciate the effort! Will definitely go back to this hotel again.
- Maricris (10/5): - Staff are friendly and helpful. The only downside is the area, it seems that a lot of business have closed due to the pabdemic. The beach needs to be cleaned.
- LLL333LLL363 (4/5): centralized aircon smell of cigarette smoke - One can smell cigarette smoke though the aircon because it is centralized. There is a plumbing problem with water pressure. The staff at front desk needs more training with hospitality. It is very clean.
- Ling (4/5): smell cigarette smoke through centralized aircon - It is very noisy. Can smell cigarette smoke through the centralized air conditioning. Problem with water pressure.
- Rosieintown (10/5): Beach area is picturesque - Have a very good view and location is perfect for nice restaurants nearby if you wanna explore other food options. Nice staff, very attentive and caring. And another thing is the hotel is accessible for its near commercial and recreational facilities.
- georgec448 (6/5): Front desk staff could use more hospitality training - The front desk girls are a bit rude and snooty. Be careful when you check out for hidden charges that mysteriously appear on your bill. Upon check out I noticed a guest fee. I had no guest. Apparently one of my office mates brought in a guest and she sat across from me at the dining table during breakfast and the dining manager assumed it was my guest. Also another co-worker was charged for an additional night so please review you bill carefully. The front desk girls seem to be somewhat incompetent. The hotel itself was nice but beware of the dining room manager as she tends to spy on hotel guest.
The rooms are basic rooms. In my opinion not worth the daily price. The Moon Bay across the street was nicer..of course you have the daily street vendors trying to hustle you for over priced trinkets. Thats the Philippines.
- Trippin2018 (2/5): Weddings galore - Hotel is at a good location with a convenience store in the same building, a park and several restaurants nearby. The adjacent lighthouse is picturesque. Two things to watch out for when/if booking: (i) Check before you book whether there is a wedding going on during the dates you plan to stay at this hotel -- if there is, just look for another place to stay. Do double check the answer though. We were looking for a quiet weekend at a small hotel and were promised just that by the hotel reps. I even changed our booking dates not to coincide with a planned wedding (all the best wishes to the couple whoever they were, but we were looking for a quiet, peaceful stay). At check-in I was once again assured by the front desk that the wedding was over, only to learn (just a few minutes later) from the hotel staff that another wedding party has booked most of the hotel for that night. I can understand a hotel wanting to make up lost revenue during the pandemic by booking large events, but misrepresenting the condition of the hotel to other guests who are looking for a quiet getaway is very short-sighted. (2) This hotel does not require guests to be fully vaccinated or show negative COVID test results, in fact they declined to see my vaccination card when I offered.
- chispunks (10/5): Had a great time! - Very clean. Comfy bed. Down pillows. Nice bath. Good breakfast, not commercialized, good quality ingredients. Kind and welcoming staff. Good view and location. Car is safe on parking. Good location for nice restaurants.
- 1977rc (10/5): Excellent customer service - We booked a planning session for a large group and they were very accommodating with all our requests. They set up a nice outdoor meeting place with large tv and audio facilities and outdoor refreshments. They were supet attentive to our technical needs and would jump in if there was even a slight problem or they would have someone on standby. Execution of our instructions were flawless.
Their staff was always attentive and made sure we were always comfortable.
The rooms we had looked great and had great views. Its not a new hotel but very well maintained. Nice litle beach walk at the back. Would definitely book here if going with family.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice location on the subic bay, nice breakast with simple choices
- Gary (10/5): - We love staying at Lighthouse & would stay nowhere else!
- Charles Mitch (10/5): Pleasant Stay! - Amazing Staff and Very Helpful.
The view from our room is awesome and relaxing. It's rught next to a beach.
Food is good too.
- Gary (8/5): - I was disappointed that the elevator was out of order for the majority of our stay as I walk with a cane & it’s very painful to walk up & down the stairs. Other than that all was good.
- Philip (8/5): Nice Accomodation on the bay - Rooms were nicely decorated and appointed, good restaurant and breakfast walking along the bay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice hotel and friendly staff. Rooms are clean, breakfast is good, a combination of continental and philippine cuisine.
The beach is very disappointing, dirty with a lot of garbage laying. Definitely not for swimming.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent customer service.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It just seemed the staff went out of their way to make your stay comfortable. A simple good morning or good afternoon went miles, a pleasant can we get you anything in passing, a pleasant smile, all made you feel at home.
- Roxan (10/5): - The breakfast and afternoon snacks were great. Live music was fun. Rooms are clean although size is ok.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There are bed bugs on our beds, one of us ended up with bites at the back. I myself don’t want to use my own blanket. The toilet rim is yellowish not cleaned well. Worst hotel I have stayed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Relaxing!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, friendly efficient staff. A bit of noise coming from neighbouring property at night, otherwise cannot fault this place. Would stay here again.
- Patrick (10/5): - Good hotel, quiet and relaxing place. The room is big and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay here. The grilled food was also good and price is reasonable, not expensive at all. View and designs were nice too. There’s not a lot of things to do late night or very early morning though.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room is just ok with Veranda ,. supposedly overlooking the beach but we can't see the beach because the container van is right in front blocking the view and the chairs and table is dirty.
- Mario Aluf-Medina (10/5): FABULOUS, FANTASTIC - The Hotel was sensational and the crew was friendly and helpful. A Super Hotel better then 5 stars in some places.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed at four different hotels while on out Philippines vacation, and the Lighthouse Marina was by far the nicest. The property is meticulously maintained and absolutely gorgeous. The staff and service was exceptional. I will definitely be staying here again and I would recommend it to anyone.
- Joe (8/5): - Not your typical local hotel, I give this resort a 4 1/2 stars out of 5. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very supportive. Pricing is reasonable based on the quality of our stay. We stayed in the most expensive room available, the Bay View 3rd floor corner room, $189/day with 1 king bed. The kids stayed next door with 2 doubles for $148/day. Rooms were large, a/c was cold, plenty of hot water and water pressure never slowed down unlike other local hotels. I would have given our stay 5 stars, although coming from the states, we were used to hotels providing biscuits and gravy as one of the breakfast buffet choices, this did not, although this a very small 1st world complaint that probably should not even be brought up. Breakfast buffet nevertheless was very good, plenty of pancakes and even a staff member that makes omelettes to your liking. Swimming pool was about the size of a typical stateside ranch home pool. Adequate enough for a large American family. Location was walking distance from the restaurants, I highly recommend Texas Joe’s Steakhouse, about a quarter mile from the resort. Altogether our overall stay at Subic was 500 percent than all others, including Clark AB, seriously! Clark was very industrial, congested and not very tourist friendly, where Subic is still clean, plenty of fresh air, and breezy. The beaches were not as clean as I hoped, but the pools made up for it. Highly recommend this resort!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent hotel! Clean rooms and surroundings. Next to the beach.
- Debbie (8/5): - it was quite comfort , but the Balcony was not clean and the door lock is broken.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice!!! Will book again next time. Close to places that I wanted to visit.
- Anshum (8/5): Subic Bay in Typhoon season - Old property but probably the best one in Subic Bay. Our stay washed out by a typhoon but staff did all they can to make us comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I would say we have an awesone stay
- Jeff (8/5): Nice - Nice room, decent location, friendly staff. The beach area is kind of pretty, but the water isn't that nice to swim in since there is a little bit of garbage in it, but it's probably like that at most places.
- Halvdan (10/5): - It`s a lovely place :) Breakfast buffet was lovely, good selection. Good Staff, always smiling
- Cris (6/5): Nice location near the beach. - The staff is excellent, they were all very nice & courteous but the hotel is not really worth the price, too expensive. The breakfast is not that good so we didn't bother to eat there for lunch or dinner. I love the view but the room is a bit old and dark.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The stay was amazing! Love it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was our favorite resort. Staffs are very friendly & accommodating. And it’s close to everything.
- Justin (10/5): Nice quiet cozy and yummy ! - Fantastic stay as usual! Warm welcome! Clean functional cozy luxurious rooms! Great food! Great view! Nice and quiet too!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Be careful if you need independent bedroom. - We needed independant bedroom because we were with our maid. Some of sweet room have it, but you shouldn't expect spaciousness to it.
Please be careful that Aqua veranda unit is just studio type room even detail explanation in this site says Aqua veranda has independant living room.
- Jocelyn (10/5): - Relaxing place, the room is big for family, the food was great, service is excellent.
