Guest Reviews
- Kathryn (8/5): - Fresh linens, staff kind, way to find off hwy
- Jessica (2/5): - The night manager is a joke. Got me and my husband banned over her allowing a guy to sleep in histruck in the parking lot. Not to mentionand hr before she called the cops on me for no reason other than she was salty bc she called the cops on him for being weird and driving around the parking lot. Then u let him sleep there for real. I wouldve had to rent a room like anyone else which in fact idid for 2 nights. Worst experience of my life. Not to mentionall the rooms are falling apart there was literally some white residue of some sort onthe nightstand and dresser when we checked in.
- Melissa (6/5): - Old and out dated but it worked for 1 night for my husband and son after going to the Clemson game. Has a strange smell and thin walls.
- Jeff (10/5): - Awesome service always
- Christopher (2/5): - It was not worth the money, TV is horrible, and the poor manager has no idea how to treat people and thus will NEVER grow her business. I wont be back and will be back in that area for business next week... lol
- wendy (10/5): - The lady at the front desk was very polite. I have breathing problems and on oxygen and she accommodated me close to the office on the bottom floor. Nice place to stay and right at the interstate.
- Audrea (8/5): - The property is very nice and the staff is sweet. I would recommend this hotel to anyone:)
- Cory (2/5): - Tv didn’t work
- Beverly (2/5): - The hotel was dirty and unsafe. Asked for money back after walking in for 5 min and they refused.
- patrick (2/5): worst - very unfriendly staff
- James (2/5): - Worst motel I ever stayed at in my life.
- Angel (2/5): Not happy - I ended up not going on my trip and couldn't and get my money back two weeks before.
- Teresa (4/5): - Desperate for a hotel for Clemson parents weekend. All hotels in the area charge abusive prices for parents weekend. I brought my own pillow and pillow case and settled for this one.
- Samuel (8/5): - Nice staff.. plenty of restaurants near motel, quite clean
- Lin (4/5): - Not worth it
- William (4/5): - The room was recently renovated and was clean. The room was a good value for the price.
- Marie (2/5): - This was the WORST place I have ever stayed and we felt very unsafe. The bath towels were stained. And to make it a complete nightmare, we discovered cockroaches crawling around in the morning. We want a FULL refund!
- Exploration515055 (2/5): Cockroaches were NOT invited. - This was the WORST ever experience. There was NO security lock on the door and we did not feel safe at all. The bath towels were stained with who knows what? And worst of all, we discovered cockroaches crawling around in the morning. Seriously!?
- Kevin (2/5): Filthy room/careless management - The floor of the room was filthy. I told the front desk about this after our first night and they said they would clean it. It was just as dirty the second night. Management didn't care when I voiced my complaints the next night.
I tried calling back four times over the following two weeks to speak with or leave a message with a manager about my experience. They never bothered to call back.
- Jamie (2/5): - Went to room after checking in and there was a space of 1/2 inch between door and frame. Went to front desk told her we weren't staying . She said owner doesn’t give refunds if its 10 minutes past check-in
- Shawn (8/5): - Ok
- Bill (4/5): You get what you pay for - Its a cheap price hotel, and thats what your gana get. Not the cleanest but a place to sleep better than my truck. Some safety concerns plug outlet behind bed is a fire hazard (no cover on it,and outlet wires exposed found it when replacing the bed head board back on it fell off while moving the pillows around, and glad i didnt get hurt had to have employee help to place it back up because it was so heavy. Employees were nice.
- 140audrinar (2/5): Red Dot - I had dirty sheets there's cockroaches in the bed I fell through the steps and she calls the law all the time the housekeeper steals is just very very bad and she also hit me she was rude and very disrespectful she just walks in your room without knocking and she cusses at you
- David (6/5): - Old, well-used motel. It was clean and staff was nice. It was a good value.
- ANTHONY (2/5): Wrong beds and roaches - Upon arrival, i reserved a king and received 2 fulls. When turning in light roaches were everywhere. We returned to the desk to find no other rooms available. In return, we left and made the 3 hour drive home at 2am.
- Shawn (2/5): - The only endearing quality is I that I was able to have my dog with me, but there was no mention of an additional fee. When I checked in the first room they gave me was occupied when I walked in which was kind of disturbing. Imagine walking into what you think is an empty room with the TV on, bed covers missing, and soda cans everywhere. The room they gave me was tidy, but bugs kept coming in under the door that my dog chased around. Last, I've never been in a hotel/motel with no bathroom doors to the shower or toilet, at all in any room. (I asked). For $80 there are other options that I will take next time that accommodate pets for free. The photo looked like a cheap hotel and I've been in plenty traveling. But this was a unique experience that I won't be doing again.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Room was way better than expected
- Christina (10/5): - Amazing
- Lindy (6/5): Definitely not the best - This was survivable for one night, but wasn't entirely clean- bathroom was clean and sheets seemed clean, but floors were sticky (looked like something spilt and not cleaned), comforter was dirty and there was a slip of paper from a previous guest with the wi-fi password in the room, so we know they didn't clean off any dressers. The bed was comfortable and shower worked fine. The area is a bit sketchy- only one gas station, a Mexican restaurant and this hotel were on this exit. Outside was very dingy and dirty. I would have felt safer with my husband, but it was only my daughter and myself on this trip so we were nervous- ended up putting the chair in front of the door to sleep. Also, the air conditioner had a note on it that you couldn't turn it on high or it would cut off. We had it set on low, but at about 4 am it started cutting on and off over and over again and was very loud, so made it difficult to sleep. Also, walkways were well lit (which I was thankful for), but it did cause a bright light to shine around the curtain all night (curtain was closed) so that made it hard to sleep too.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Our tv did not work
The heater was so loud every time it kicked on it woke me up.
Could have used more pillows. But other than that it was fine.
- Ion (10/5): - good location good price
- Joshua (4/5): - Bugs in room try charge more money when checked in
- Anne (4/5): - The first key card I was given to a room on the 2nd floor, after schlepping all my stuff up there, did not work. The next shift person took pity on me and put me in a room on the first floor with a key card that worked. The room was renovated and well-appointed, but the bedspread had cigarette burns and the only blanket had stains on it. The bathroom seemed clean, but there was a used large bar of soap left from a previous person! The headboard and dresser hadn’t been dusted in a while. The refrigerator was making weird irregular sounds all night long. The smoke detector went off TWICE during the night! I was told that someone was probably smoking outside my door or next door. Oy! Needless to say, I got very little sleep and I will be seeking a refund. And lastly, I was unable to turn off the TV upon leaving the room because the remote was no longer working. )-:
- Queen (4/5): - Nothing but the big ice box
- Verified traveler (6/5): Adequate - Mattress was smaller size than steel bed platform. No soap bar provided. Ice machine worked fine. Door lock worked fine. Lavatory drain plug was very difficult. All in all I slept well.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly and Economical! - Thank you for being so friendly and accommodating! My son and his friend enjoyed their stay!
- tinamS9862BA (2/5): Never Again - I just checked in and the room stinks and it wasn't worth the $89 I paid. Never ever will I come back here! The staff was nice but the room was terrible! Than you can only stay one night because of football. The cashier was very nice. But the room never
- Preston (10/5): - Good value.
- Jeff (4/5): - After a very hard rain floor was wet in the room because of humidty no towels at first and no door keys
- Herbert (4/5): - The room was NASTY!!!!! Floors were dirty' roaches were crawling on the wall and dead roaches on the floor. Bathroom door was NASTY, Dirty hair was left on the shower walls.
- Preston (8/5): - Very good value.
- Corrina (2/5): - Roaches
- Gage (6/5): Not good, do not care about the guests. - I had to stay a few nights and it was closest to the place I was visiting. First of all, I know that it's a cheap one, but I didn't have many options, but being cheap does not have to mean being dirty. I also experienced a power outage for which no one checked in with the guests who had to stay there and let us know anything. They wouldn't come and bring extra towels or do any cleaning! Their refrigerator was not even cold. If I could give it a worse review than half of a star, I would. Terrible.
- Richard (4/5): - It would have been fine for very inexpensive, if not for a few roaches, and late night trucker arrivals and departures
- Orielle (2/5): - Only thing good about property
- tammy (10/5): - Very clean friendly staff. Close to everything.
- Howard (8/5): - good room for the price
- Gary (10/5): - Very nice staff. quiet
- Elizabeth (8/5): - I made a last minute stop to sleep here for a few hours on my way to visit a friend. The staff was friendly and knew what they were doing, got me in my room quickly and without any fuss. The room was clean, though the renovation was a bit sloppy (paint splattered and not cleaned off, nothing major) and very pet friendly.. The room was very nice, but loud. I heard every step of the person above me, and I'm not sure that they were being particularly loud.
Over all it was a good stay.
- Joe (2/5): Child trafficking location - This is an awful hotel. Raided in the middle of the night regarding child trafficking. Police indicated often receiving calls for this location also for trafficking. Not a safe place to stay at all.
- Austin (8/5): - Went to visit my grand daughter at college! Restaurant in front great food ! Staff were great just some of the people were jerks that was staying there !
- Lynn (6/5): - You get what you pay for, and really $80 a night was too much ...Repairs needed and if done, done as inexpensively as possible. Definitely would not recommend
- paulcF9568EF (2/5): Stay away - Room was dirty. Shower curtain was moldy and the bathtub faucet was falling off. 1st morning there was no hot water. Exterior of building is old and run down. I stepped in dog crap outside my room at night. Would not recommend this place no matter how cheap it is.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The property was up to date and easy check in but it had roaches.. alot of bugs
- Jessica (8/5): We found a Great place to stay!!!! - For some reason the hotel was given bad reviews by most people. I have NO complaints at all!!! The people was very nice and it was very clean! We liked it so well that we stay an extra night! You cannot beat it for the price! And it was the weekend of the Fourth of July!!!
- Jennifer (2/5): Sleep in your car first - This place is a rat hole , dirty , bad service , bad location!! The owners and staff were rude ,. Don’t do it !! Sleep in your car first!!
- Joshua (2/5): Bad nasty - Sucked
- Randy (4/5): I will never stay here again. - If you are looking for a good restful sleep, this is not the place. It was definitely not worth the money I paid to stay here. There were noisy guests all night long. I was rattled out of bed several times through the night, between the tap dancers upstairs, the moron in the parking lot that could not figure out how to turn her alarm off on her car, somebody out there working on their vehicle pounding and pounding, you get the idea. The room was clean enough, the bed was comfortable. Too bad that I could not enjoy my sleep due to all the noise. If you are looking for a restful night's sleep with quiet, I strongly recommend you go elsewhere. I'm still here, and now it's too late to go back to sleep now that all the noise is gone. Looks like I'll be sleeping in my vehicle for a bit, at some point today on the road. The lady at check-in was very nice and helpful. If it weren't for the noisy guests, this place would have been a total winner. I will never stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - If you’re looking for something nice, then don’t stay here. If you’re just looking for something cheap then it’s perfect.
- Angela (4/5): Nasty - Horrible don’t recommend
- Omar (6/5): - Not daily house keeping.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - they never could get internet to work---it was EXTREMELY INTERMITTENT...did not give me a price reduction. I could not reach a person I was to contact by email.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked how quiet it was to rest. What I didn’t like is they had a home refrigerator in the room. Faulty plug ins and not enough plug ins. The desk lamp didn’t work. Not enough soap shampoo. The housekeeper was very rude after I said I woke up late and was checking out, he says well you will have to pay. I had to yell I’m checking out louder. Didn’t know the wi-fi there. No phones in the room to call for a wake up call or number.
- Sasha (6/5): Comfortable - Power went out and they did no extend our stay or refund anything
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Is a typical low budget family type owned hotel. Little sticky and showing some wear I would say it was an ok stay
- Christopher (4/5): - Thr room was dirty. There was no bathroom door the cable didnt work and people always outside making noise
- Stephen (8/5): - This place is no frills. It’s not the Marriott. Don’t bring swim trunks as there is no pool. Enjoyed the tv, slept great, showered and left fo 60 bucks. I got what I wanted for the price
- KenyataGalloway (10/5): - Peaceful and quite and the rooms are comfortable and beds so soft
- Wesley (8/5): Decent - It was fine
- Yellowmeat (10/5): - Quietness and cleaniness. Desk attendant was very friendly and courteous.
- Amanda (8/5): Excellent motel - It has wonderful rooms with great people on staff
- Kimberly (8/5): Good value, great location - This hotel surely needs a renovation, but for our couple times a year, its price can't be beat. The carpet in the room really needs replacing, but the staff is kind and helpful and the room was clean. The AC didn't work as well as it should, but, again, for the price, it is fine.
- Turner (8/5): - close to I-85 and Clemson; friendly staff, adequate room
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was completely awful nothing was good we didn’t even say we walked in and it smelt horrible it was dirty stains all over everything it was a complete disaster never will I ever book here again EVERRRR!!!!
- Joshua (8/5): Not bad for the price - This hotel isn’t as bad as people say. For a game night in Clemson at this price, you can’t beat it. There’s nothing luxury about it, but checkin was painless and I was in the room a total of 6 hours to sleep. Great Mexican restaurant within walking distance too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Refurbished bathroom with tile! However missed caulking over top door molding as you walk out of bath. There’s a gap on left. Tube faucet sorta hangs loose afraid to touch, it wiggles as you lift to release shower.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quick and friendly check in. Room clean, smoke free, and undamaged.
They took my request for lowest room possible and had it ready for me as I arrived.
Convenient check out.
- Wyatt (2/5): - Don’t bring your family here , service was terrible and facility was disguising.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was clean and comfortable bed. Room was small so tight path between foot of bed and the furniture. Does not include breakfast as was listed in description.
- Cameron (8/5): - The woman behind the counter was friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - They have very clean rooms and a very friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely stay their again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - At first they were fine. Then when i got complaining about the no free wifi the refrigerator i had to turn up from a broken button in back of it (how i first found the roaches), the cockroaches and much later the two bed bugs i found one on my pillow and one on my towel blanket (after the roaches i wasnt climbing in the bed. (Own chair too). I captured both bed bugs in a small empty 7oz beer bottle. At this time i was wild upset. 3am ish nowhere to go. I repacked my car. Slept in my car from 530 -830am. Finished packing toiletries and watched television until. 1030 ish. I was in 117 the people in 118 had just complained 9-930 ish. I complained and they were very hostile. Refused to refund my room and said i was the only one that complained. Said i was making the bed bugs up just to get a refund. I have them in 2 empty beer bottles. Said i should've called them for a different room. 3am! Next room likely would be equal condition and i was tired no thanks. They are going to rent that room again. I cant believe it! No return no im sorry and worst of all they will rent that room today if they can. Mexican restaurant very close and a diner and store close enough to walk also. I would only have let them know about the wifi fridge and roaches, the bed bugs were the last straw. I became homeless 3 days ago now so i was mostly just happy to have a bed shower and some ac for $61.04 start work on monday. Hope the next place is at least run better.
- TigerFan1224 (2/5): - This place was the worst hotel I’ve ever been to, and I’ve done quite a bit of traveling. Upon arrival we were given a room that was still dirty from the last guests, then given a room where the key wouldn’t work and I had to argue with the front desk to get them to come unlock the room. No hot water, only 1 bulb in the 4 lamps provided, AC/heat was broken, and the door was not sealed so the cold air leaked in all night and I felt like I was going to freeze to death. Stay away if you can, I only stayed for a sporting event but the cheap price is not worth the stay.
- 675jamesa (8/5): Reasonable price, clean inside - No frills but good sleep. Bathroom in really good shape. Carpet very good. Furniture in good shape. Bed slept good, fresh relatively new linens. I could hear the highway traffic but I don’t wear my hearing aids when asleep. I did not use the tv or refrigerator or microwave. The electrical outlets are worn so much as to not be serviceable in some cases. The front walk along the rooms was in need of sweeping and removing trash after the maids had serviced the rooms. Heat/air conditioner worked fine.
- Woody (4/5): - Bad truck was vandalized at nite while I slept
Notified staff
They refused to pull Vedic or help
- Tuke (2/5): - The worst room I've ever seen and been in!!!! How can i go on....without getting sick!
- j0rgesa (6/5): needs renovation but affordable - The rooms on the property need to be renovated. Old bed spreads and old furniture. It is conveniently located just off of I-85 near Anderson, Pendleton, and Clemson. My room had a microwave and large refrigerator, so one could live here weekly. The young woman at check-in was polite and friendly. not bad for $55 to $61 per night. no truck parking.
- Extraordinary130589 (2/5): Needs lots of repair work - I'm here now. The ac is struggling to cool the room. The unit is not even bolted into the wall. It is about 78 degrees in here. The floor all around the door and the ac is soaked.
Bathroom is clean, as is the rest of the room.
Found a dead bug on my pillow. It was dried.
Went outside to walk my dog and there was an altercation in the parking lot at the gas station nextdoor. Called 911 because I felt it wasn't a safe situation.
The restaurant beside the motel is closed and boarded up.
Hate this for the propriaters, but they should be ashamed to charge what they do.
- mnmel1997 (4/5): Not Recommend based on an in person "Look" to check out budget options! - The exterior view of this motel is awful, a closed pizza restaurant in front of the motel is boarded up. The lobby is tiny and the "free" breakfast offerings appeared to be quite sparse. A housekeeper allowed me to view both a double room and a king; both appeared to be fine and functional noting dated decor. The housekeeper and front desk representative both responded "No" when I asked about bed bugs but I have doubts. The overall "feel" was not good, I plan to cancel my reservations to attend a Clemson home football game hoping that better "low cost" options may be noted.
- goode2shuz38 (2/5): Dont stay here- plenty of better options - There was no breakfast or coffee anywhere- no one even around the office in the morning. The bedspread had black marks and we immediately threw it in the floor. We had booked online for 2 nites but could not get our money back when we saw it in person- we did get a refund for 1 nite but we were stuck for 1 nite. My husband hated it so bad he wanted to just get in car and go back home. I hated that the parking lot lights lit up my room like daytime when all our lights were off.
- seanbZ6812RV (2/5): Not Worth It - Stayed during football season with some buddies. It was the cheapest price but just not worth it. Some rooms did not have hot water, some guys tried to sell us gold in the parking lot, and the room smelled like an old rusty metallic barrel with stagnant rain water trapped inside.
- 681lauriev (4/5): Price does not forecast accomodations - My husband and I spent a weekend in the Anderson, SC area during February. One night was spent at the Budget Inn Express and the other night at the Quality Inn. The prices were the same, while the accommodations at the Budge Inn Express were barely passable and the continental breakfast was a joke. In contrast, the Quality Inn exceeded our expectations in both areas.
- Sky1725 (2/5): Do not stay here - No hot or even warm water.
Timer on bathroom and light over the sink that turned off after ten minutes.
Towels were either dirty or had holes in them.
Locked out of room @ 0830, even though checkout was @ 1100. Housekeeper had to let me into room.
It is on outskirts and away from everything except pizza place and gas station that are right there.
I would avoid this place and spend a few extra dollars elsewhere.
- hudgins81 (2/5): Discusting - we were tired after attending the coco cola 600 so we decided on staying here because we were to tired to drive all the way back home. when we went to our room the room smelled musty along with our sheets and towels. on the bathroom counter was a roach crawling around. will never be back!!
- luvsmrt (2/5): bad transparency-booked it through booking.com but the inn was also very lame in giving reasons - I booked for a room yesterday through booking.com. The website clearly explained that the hotel or inn that I booked will only charge me after once I show up personally. So I assumed it as, if you don't show up for any personal reason they'll automatically cancel the reservation. I guess that's what most people who see such an advertisement with think. But once I booked it, the policy said the no show will cost me 100% of the booking charge if I don't cancel my reservation before 24 hours of actual booking time. How can someone practically who is on an emergency can book an hour before a situation demands but cancel it 24 hours in advance of the reservation?. Such a bad website transparency. I only booked it through the website because it had all these flashy advertisements saying they will charge me only when I show up personally, but guys please don't believe it. It is just another bad website to book a hotel
- NatalieBChapin_SC (2/5): Horrible place to stay - We booked this room thru priceline.com. The Policy for this hotel was "If you cancel 1 day before check-in, there are no charge" Well how do you know that the room was going to be nasty and that the employee was going to be rude when you asked about not being satisfied and wanted a refund. Then you have to go to another Hotel and pay again to stay. NEVER ever have gone to a place and was not satisfied. Needless to say never gone somewhere and advised of not being satisfied and not been given the courtsey of a refund.
