Guest Reviews
- Lovely45 (1/5): Roaches - The staff was nice The roaches, all over the room and it was not clean.
- Bundick (1/5): - It wasent enough blankets
- kimberly (10/5): -
- Guy (5/5): - Close to boardwalk Rooms look old and not really updated
- Taylor (1/5): Horrible nightmare that made me never want to come back to VB - The walk to the beach The room was dirty, the curtains had galaxy duct tape to close them. The lamp was basically the leaning tower of Pisa and had dents all in it. There was hair on clean towels??? The sheets had stains. The whole experience was distasteful and it was nothing to be happy about. This place needs to be shutdown.
- Marvin (1/5): Terrible place , would not recommend - Nothing , the place was terrible! This place was absolutely terrible , the room I was given smelled like cigarettes which affected my asthma severely , there were holes on the ceiling and in the wall , the shower knob was broke so where was no way of turning on the water . After a few minutes of sitting on the bed , something bit me , I’m assuming a bug. Terrible experience , I left after being there for an hour.
- Celeste (1/5): Don’t stay here. - The property was very dirty. The room was filthy and smelled of cigarettes. The lamp didn’t work, the safety latch was broken, the door was not completely on the hinge, it was distrusting. The place was dirty, the bed had cigarette burns on the comforters. The air conditioner was broken.
- Colin (6/5): -
- Kirby (6/5): -
- Bobby (10/5): - The way is looks is relaxing No laundry facilities
- prodrag100 (2/5): - Was no breakfast smelled cigarette smoke all night people was very noisy all hours of the night needed thicker pillows they were very thin ond ony had 3 for 2 of un in a king bed I could stick my hand between the wall and a/c shower didn't work Will not stay there again don't recommend

- J (10/5): -
- Madeline (7/5): pretty good - good price, clean, no bugs, comfortable mattress would recommend to bring your own pillow and blanket they barely give u a blanket and the hotel is a little loud outside
- Ashley (4/5): - The location is great. Right near the beach and in walking distance from all attractions and shopping. The facility had trash piled up under the stair well about 5 feet tall. The other occupants that seemed to live there full time were EXTREMELY loud and played rap music at the highest volume in the public passage ways all day and night. In addition to the loud music, there was a couple screaming at one another off and on throughout our stay as well as a dog that barked non stop.
- Malayna (1/5): - No The room was dirty there was roaches there was no trash can it was all terriblew
- Temeka (8/5): -
- KUOSHU (1/5): - location not really clean room
- Richard (8/5): - The price was great for a hotel 2 blocks from the beach
- Andrea Artino (10/5): - Great location- very nice and accommodating staff.
- Starr (10/5): - We loved the owner .an they are all cool Everything was perfect. O
- Destiny (8/5): - It was in a great location. Plus it had a 8ft pool which is hard to find. Checkout is at 11. While we were still there at 10:30 employee opened our door.
- Sean (2/5): - Room Condition was not as advertised. TV service didnt work. Damaged Furniture. Overall disappointed
- mohamed (2/5): - Area is good but hotel is not clean
- Amy (4/5): My heebies were jeebied - I knew the type of motel I was buying into, and it wasn't the worst I've seen. For what it was it was clean, A/C and fridge worked. We got locked out of our room bc the key wouldn't work and had to ring for help. We found out there's a privacy switch on the door lock that will lock out all keys except the master key. I would think it'd be beneficial to label it that way so lockouts at 2am don't happen. The whole vibe of the place and the people hanging around and/or living there just gave me and my daughter the heebie jeebies and we decided to leave and drive home early. I don't think we spent more than an hour total actually in the room. I'm glad I only paid $30 out of pocket for it, otherwise I'd be asking for a refund bc that's about all it's worth.
- Herbert (2/5): - The shower didn’t work. No wash cloths. The hot water didn’t work in the bathroom sink. Not very clean. I won’t go back
- Marlene (4/5): Horrible beginning to good finish - My rating is based on the initial interactions with front desk staff and the first room (dirty need, no security door lock, strong cigarette smell, noisy neighbor, very dirty and stained chair, no working outlets). Also, it was a standard room, but my reservation was for a suite. The second room that they moved me to was perfect. Because of that room, I will stay there again if I can get that same room!
And, though I booked online, front desk staff tried to charge me $10 additional during check in for amenities such as the pool, which I had no intention of using during my 1 night stay.
- Kari (4/5): - The Picture on website did not accurately represent real life. I had a difficult time finding my room as it did not have number on it. When I went to the room, the tub was dirty and the toilet seat was broken. I will not be going back.
- Jr (2/5): Terrible - There was absolutely no parking, the room looked like it hadn’t been used or touched in years. It was disguising, only amenity that was given that was advertised was the outdoor pool and that was filthy. There was not one thing that looked like it did in the pictures on trivago or Expedia. Place should be shut down. The only pleasant experience was from the two night employees that checked us in. They were very helpful and personable.
- alexhG506PN (6/5): Good value for the money! Perfect location, great pool, clean room but outdated furniture. - Great place to stay for the price but if you rent with kitchenette you must bring all your own supplies. Nothing provided.
- Glenda (1/5): - Demasiado mal olor a marihuana y muy sucio los cuartos y muchas cucarachas
- TaKia (8/5): - Yea
- Ingrid (7/5): -
- Alison (10/5): - Nice place
- William (6/5): Ok - The place advertised cooking utensils and there were none , the floors were very dirty
- Parthemer (1/5): - Nothing No hot water in the shower called 2 times then had to go to the front desk to tell them about no hot water and they didn't have any thing to say other than yo wait a hour to see if it worked then. Then the king bed only had two pillows in there.
- Damian (2/5): - Roaches, bugs lamp with rust everything’s broke, weed smells the whole time, sheets old and stain no blankets nothing to do with the pictures 150 % nothing to do, Location is perfect that’s the only good thing about it
- Beasley (4/5): Dealt with it. - It was quiet. Not very clean, very outdated, rundown looking, and floor wasn’t even clean when arriving.
- Yolanda (4/5): - The AC in room 309 did not work nor did the microwave work. They gave me a fan but would not accommodate if the weather was extremely hot
- James (2/5): Never again - When I was checking in ,they tried to charge me $16.00 when it said clearly on my reservation $10.00. TV wasn't working and they did fix it quickly. Someone had a big speaker blasting their type of music at the pool so loud that you could not get away from it. I called the office at 10:00pm to have them turn the muisic off. All they did was turn it down. I called at 11:00pm to find out when pool closed because now young children (10-12years old) were playing in pool yelling and screaming. I was told the pool closed at 10pm . I asked the person on the phone why people were still using the pool area when it is suppose to be closed. They made the people leave pool area and shut off music. My wife and I finally was able to go to sleep around 11:30pm. Not excepable. Will not be back.
- Tiarra (6/5): Pleasant - Pool
- JESUS R (8/5): - Good comfort and good place
- Monterroza (9/5): Superb -
- Juanita (1/5): Bad - Nothing The room was nasty with no sink in the kitchen
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The service was great. Floors were sandy and we had to buy mattress pads for the sofa bed. It was very uncomfortable. The queen bed was great. kids loved the pool. Close to the beach too. We had a very nice stay overall.
- Don (1/5): Room dirty stunk shit on the hopper seat did not even stay the second night tried to get a hold of Booking.com, but that - The property sucked. The only stayed one night. We didn’t go back to second night. We just drove home. The room was disgusted. Shit on the toilet seat smelled like cigarette butts dirty.
- Guevara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jordan (3/5): Poor -
- Kirian (6/5): It’s a good location but i think they could give a better customer service - The Pool and it was only a block away from the beach It didn’t had alot of parking space. The check in was not on time.
- Katherine (10/5): All in all we had a great stay. - The pool Small rooms
- Cathy (6/5): - Nothing
- Urenna (2/5): - This place was the most disgusting place I have ever stayed in . To sum it up , room smelled full of smoke, made front desk aware , they gave me an air refreshner . This was the only thing close to the boardwalk . They refuse to give a refund . Indian manager was rude , including his wife, tell me they have to wake up in the morning . Not to mention the guest next to our room was banging on the door cussing and fighting ! This MOTEL, is not fit for animals , I am going to report this place to the better business bureau ! What a shame !! Ps the pictures are nothing like the actual place DONOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME
- Akeem (4/5): - Very poor wasnt clean and very out dated
- Oscar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eid (1/5): Bad - The worst place ever broken bathroom door
The smell is bad, mostly weed
The staff is unfriendly
- Andrew (6/5): - The proximity to everything was great. This place is close to the beach. There are many shops and restaurants within walking distance as well. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was good. We called ahead to request an early check-in. When we got to our room, the bed was made, but the sheets were dirty. They had crumbs of food on them, which told us that the sheets had not been washed or changed from the prior guests. The bathroom was also dirty. There was a large streak of something down the mirror that easily came off. There were remnants of the soap discs that they gave out on the tubs surface, and the floor was dirty. This room was dirty. The woman at the front desk was more than happy to give us clean sheets, and told us to ask if we needed anything else. She also said the room would get cleaned the next day. That did not happen. We could also hear the beeping of a smoke detector that needed its batteries changed. I would not recommend staying at this property. I guess you get what you pay for.
- Wilson (2/5): Very poor -
- Jorge (2/5): - The hotel pictures on Expedia didn’t match the actual property and room. It had dead roaches and was not clean.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Spend the extra $ for a better stay somewhere else - Many items in the suite broken and many things outdated. No working microwave, coffee maker and kitchen stove not in service. Not a very clean place either. Could not get extra towels or sheets. Had to bring the dirty bath towels to the hotel front desk for clean ones.
The staff was friendly, but that is about the only positive thing.
- Jennifer (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kibler (10/5): Exceptional - There clean pool frienldly service. My wife and I woke Lan hour after checkout. They were really considerate to our situation. I would stay again. Na
- KLE1224 (2/5): Couldn't pay me to stay there! - Resort? what a joke! The owners clearly don't give a f*** about guest experience or repeat business! The whole place was disgusting and we left and stayed elsewhere. Hopefully some of these negative reviews get through to the owners. From the broken shower faucet to the broken cabinets and the disgustingly dirty fabric on the chairs oh and of course the complimentary hair in the shower! We expected the place to be dated but disgusting wasnt on our bingo card! Shame because it's close to the beach and could be fixed up nicely if the owners gave a crap! Also, why do they have Marriott Courtyard door passes? 🤣
- Michael (2/5): - Nothing was good about the property or the room. It was so bad I couldn’t stay the second day. Very sad conditions
- Elias (4/5): - Dirty rooms, things broken, lied about fees over the phone.
- Helen (2/5): - This place is horrible. Everything is old & broken. Lights don't work. Bed feels worn out. Bathroom floor looks dirty. Bathroom tub looks dirty. Couch &: chairs look old and dirty. I would Not recommend this place to anybody.
- Kareem (6/5): - My stay was good, but for us to stay 4 nights they never changed our sheets
- Charles (10/5): - Excellent ...wish I was staying longer. I will go back. A block from the beach and in the middle of everything VA Beach has to offer. I arrived early, but the staff/owner was extremely friendly and made the utmost effort to ensure everything was to my liking. The room was huge and would have been great for an extended stay, as it had everything you could want or need. The pool was very clean and was popular with all the guests. Plenty of parking. The Alamar Resort Inn is a gem, and the staff is the best. Thanks again.
- Hayle (6/5): - I loved how friendly the family was. They were very kind when we had to switch rooms and very patient . The only issue we had was the room we ended up with was invested with cockroaches. At night they came out and were all over our stuff. We had to shake everything out and wash before we went home. Otherwise really enjoyed the place. Just could be cleaner.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible place to stay! - Broken bathroom and walls! Air conditioner was not working
- Shemeka (1/5): Front desk disrespectful n room wasn’t clean and didn’t give me the suite I paid for - Dirty Dirty
- Selena (6/5): Never Again - I was allowed to change room to a lower level, but new room was almost empty. No closet, microwave, toiletries, hair dryer, iron, ice, extra lock on door and a small fridge that only kept food cool.
- E5382NXbenh (10/5): Bens visit - Clean room friendly staff. The pool looks very nice I had a great time all my needs were met morning not too far from the beach which is beautiful by the way I will definitely be back there soon very relaxing and quiet atmosphere comfortable bed fluffy pillows
- Johnson (1/5): Drug dealers paradise, people's nightmare - How close is was to the oceanfront. But THATS IT. This place was an absolute nightmare!!! It says newly renovated and I'm not sure how that is possible. There were random holes in the walls, graffiti, mold on the shower curtain and they struggled to find us towels without stains.
This is a drug dealers paradise. People knocking on our door at all hours of the night. Screaming and yelling and when we first checked in there was a knife stabbed into the door. With the security bar broken off on the inside the only way we were able to sleep was to put the chair under the door.
DO NOT STAY HERE.
- Stephanie (2/5): Gross and roach city?! - WARNING!!! Do not stay here!! The pool had green swamp water and it smelled so bad the pictures are fake!! This place is a dump!! They have roaches the sheets looked dirty and gross i asked for my money back and they refused !! I had to pay to stay in different hotel because it was awful!!!
- Latiks (8/5): Very good - Friendly staff The noise
- Tre (1/5): AWFUL! - Nothing at all! My wife and i got down about 6pm and had to lead by 6am due to work so we scheduled this place for about $110 because we wouldn’t really be spending much time there anyway! Big mistake, Crackhead motel LITERALLY! Crackheads hanging all around the stairs and stoop screaming, yelling, fighting, & slamming doors ALL NIGHT LONG I finally was able to fall asleep around 3am to turn around & get up at 5:30am. I do not suggest staying here if your budget is tight just don’t stay overnight & definitely do not bring kids to this place!!!
- Bruce (5/5): Passable -
- Alexander (3/5): Poor - Location and ease of access. Just about everything. The room was rough. There was broken wicker chair in the corner that fell apart when placing a travel bag in it. We informed the staff and were told "that's just decorative, don't worry we will not charge you for it". There was no wastebasket or toilet paper. The drapes had holes (2/3rd of the room was windows). The door did not latch (unless pulled hard when closing). The "pool" was filled with garbage and debris.
Despite all the problems with the room/facility. The worst part was the other patrons. They were loud, obnoxious, fighting, yelling, and generally the worst part of the stay. They would have loud conversations outside our window/wall on the "community patio", there was a fist fight that started the first morning we were there, and there was constant commotion and activity going on.
All of this should have been dealt with by the staff on-site. They live there too. I would recommend that you find somewhere else to stay.
- zachlQ467VT (2/5): Terrible - I decided to book this hotel for St. Patrick’s weekend because it was cheap and walking distance to the bars at the oceanfront. I read the mixed reviews beforehand and gave it a chance - oh brother, was that the wrong move. For starters, the parking situation was terrible. There are 4 spots outside the office and a small parking lot located on the side of the house next door. We had 2 cars and could only get 1 parking pass so we had to park one of the cars off-site. Now onto the room: it was by far the worst hotel room I have ever experienced. Our non-smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke as soon as we opened the door, and there was an old cigarette butt on the window sill. There were wads of hair and dirt on the floor. The TV didn’t work, and the walls were dirty. The bathroom was a nightmare. Someone clearly kicked a hole in the bottom of the door, the door was peeling apart and didn’t fully close, the door had a mysterious brown stain on it, and it looked like someone punched a hole in the wall in the bathroom. There was black mold on the ceiling, curtains and lampshade. My girlfriend brought Lysol because we didn’t want to touch anything when we got there. We booked for 2 nights and only stayed for 1 because we didn’t feel clean or safe there. It was more worth cutting our losses and staying elsewhere rather than sleeping in that room again. During our short stay, there was constantly a group of sketchy people hanging out in the parking lot. This hotel could offer rooms for free, and it would still be overpriced.
- Lea (6/5): - Totally average for the price
- Tinesha (7/5): Good -
- Muhammad (1/5): Bad - Its so poor condition bed smell in room dirty bed sheet after guests no change
Anyway i just wounded how these kind hotel r operating their business in usa
Anyway its like junk i hope its eye opener for owner
- Derek (9/5): VERY PLEASANT+QUIET STAY,WITH PLEASANT,ACCOMMODATING STAFF+MANAGEMENT. 5 STARS. - THE ALAMAR RESORT INN IS QUIANT,CHARMING,+QUIET,+IT'S RIGHT NEAR THE BEACH*DAVE CHAPPELLE JAMAICAN ACCENT*,WHICH IS CONVENIENCE FOR BEACH STROLLS+PICS. ALSO WALKING DISTANCE TO RESTAURANTS +STORES.THE MANAGER IS VERY ACCOMMODATING WITH ROOM SIZE+BED SIZE ADJUSTMENTS. +THE VALUE IS ABOVE REPROACH VIA MY BELOVED BOOKING.COM GENIUS 3 LEVEL STATUS. ALL IN ALL,I'M HAVING A VERY PLEASANT STAY! IFF YOUR EVER IN VIRGINIA BEACH,VA,I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALAMAR RESORT INN. NOTHING,ACTUALLY. THE POOL WAS CLOSED DUE TO IT BEING WINTER.
- Tom (10/5): Fantastic - It was very. Nice would go back for sure the people running jt where amazing good people
- Rebecca (2/5): - Broken light, no functioning tv, cold water, rude owner.
- 974kamleshm (10/5): Great Stay - Location is good. its nearly three minutes walk to Ocean front. stay was nice. Staff are also nice and cooperative. Rooms are clean. They give me a parking pass for my two vehicles. My family likes the destination very well. Overall great stay over here
- Joshua (2/5): - I booked a non-smoking room with a kitchenette so I could make meals during my stay. My room was not clean when I arrived, so I was given room 100. My keycard did not work for this room, so I was given a smoking room without a stove. The first night, I was promised I could switch rooms the following day, but the switch was delayed another day. The third day I finally switched to room 106, but it was in very poor condition. The shower was small and dirty, and there were stains on the shower curtain. The tiles were cracked and repaired unprofessionally, and the shower knob fell off when I tried to turn it. In the kitchen, only one burner actually worked, and similar to the shower the knob of the second burner came out while attempting to turn it. They included a backup plug-in stove, which was dirty, had only one functioning burner, and smoked heavily when heating. The dishwasher had a yellow wire sticking out of the front panel, so I was afraid to use it at all. Bedding is extremely thin and furniture is stained. It seems that some people use this place as a party spot, as people often walk around blasting loud music with portable speakers.
