• Susan (6/5): Had a lovely 3n stay all things considered. - The resort is so handy to beach, walking/cycling path, Surf club, however it’s an older building a bit tired and feel it’s time they change cleaners as our unit was very dusty and areas needed a good clean. Single rooms no aircon and extremely hot in peak summer. U7 Nth tower. Pools and outdoor areas are immaculate. Unit not thoroughly clean lots of dust and sticky dinning table, smelly drains in bathrooms, one single room smelt of urine as though someone may have wet the bed!
• Sandy (7/5): Good - Fabulous location near the beach and shops. Very helpful and friendly lady on reception when we arrived. We certainly needed air conditioning that worked well, as we had an east and west facing unit and we were there during some hot days. We were in Unit North 17. The unit’s plumbing could do with an upgrade. The unit could benefit from some deeper cleaning in general, but in the kitchen particularly.

• Keynahz (6/5): We won't be back unfortunately. No elevator, Hot apartment, hot swimming pool and needs a renovation - Location was perfect to be close to the Stadium where we had our boys tag tournament and also close to the Kawana Mall which was super handy. The apartment was spacious and a short walk to the beach. The patio area on the rooftop was cool but too hot so we didn't really use it. The reception ladies were really friendly and super helpful also when messaging via email. Customer service was awesome. Sorry, I really really wanted to love it but this review is ONLY for Room N15 1) When I booked the room I didn't know that our room was the one that didn't have elevator access. So if you have health issues (which I suffer from bad sciatica) then climbling 3 flights of stairs won't be for you. Lugging your luggage, groceries and doing general errands was a major inconvenience. I only knew our room didn't have elevator access when I called after I paid my deposit - so make sure to call and ask if your room is affected before booking. 2) The apartment only had 1 aircon in the dining/living room which was not disclosed specifically on the booking. So all the bedrooms were way too hot to sleep in, so every night for all 6 of us was in the living room with our mattresses and we also had to buy an additional fan to get more cold air circulating. Prob be better if we booked in Winter. 3) The apartment is a bit worse for wear so expect fly screens broken, blind curtain strings not working, the trays in the oven weren't even clean/washed, the tv in the main room turned on once and then after that we couldn't get it working again, even tried to reset it and change the batteries but still nothing. No manual, unfortunately. Overall wasn't very clean. 4) The swimming pool is HOT! For some they will say it was hot, like my husband but for me it was very warm. This is not ideal in 35-40 degree weather and in need of a cool down :( My family were so disappointed, so we could only really use it late at night when the weather wasn't as hot. We also tried to swim at the beach but we weren't able to because there were massive jellyfish and bluebottle jellyfish everywhere. The locals said it's been like that for a few weeks because of the warm weather. So yeah pretty bummed with this holiday and want to give an honest review. Again this only applied to room N15.

• Tra (4/5): Disappointing - Spacious So dirty! We found someones bikini under the bed. Our pillow was mouldy! The oven was not cleaned! The place really stinks had to buy room spray! Glass door was jammed. And lots of other things was not impressed, couldn’t get a hold of reception either.
• Kellie (4/5): - - we were not informed that the apartment had limited aircon. Loungeroom aircon and main bedroom aircons could not be used at the same time. Two of the three bedrooms do not have aircon, with 3 children this was a nightmare with the heat and humidity - there were dead and live cockroaches, a cockroach egg sack in one of the single beds (photo proof) - the tiled surfaced in the kitchen area was greasy and slippery - dishes plates cups knives etc were not cleaned properly (we had to wash before use, some had excessive dust and hair on them, some were also wet) - the ensuite toilet had faecal remains in it - the floor in the toilet of main bathroom was sticky, so disgusting - the main bathroom shower was not clean and has mould (photo proof) - the fridge was not cold on arrival - no blackout blinds in the living area to early reduce the morning light/heat - surfaces were not cleaned properly or regularly. Food and water residue on dining table legs. Dust build up on bar chair legs, bedside tables and carpet - carpets not vacuumed properly. Infant crawler found multiple items to put in his mouth - fly screens doors are not secure. Unable to be locked and the screen itself was loose/holes etc. not safe for children - Apartment 23 is NOT a 4 star apartment! - the booking was made for 4 adults and 3 children; only the main bedroom had a double bed; the other bedrooms were made up as 4 singles. What 4 star rated resort would expect adults to sleep in single beds (unless requested)

• Amanda (8/5): Perfect location for a relaxing family holiday. - Perfect location for the purpose of our trip to the Sunshine Coast - an event at the Sunshine Coast Stadium. Great short stroll to get coffee in the mornings. We arrived later than expected but staff were very helpful. The floors did not feel clean and coffee satchets in the room were rock solid.

• David (6/5): - Our recent stay at Surfside on the Beach was disappointing. Despite booking a top-floor three-bedroom room with promised ocean views, the reality was vastly different. The room lacked the advertised views, and its condition was subpar. Old, stained curtains, dirty floors, and musty bathrooms greeted us. Bedding configurations didn't match what was promised, despite confirmation. Props to Ebony for helping with an extra bed, but it didn't salvage the experience. The sole air conditioning unit in the lounge was inadequate, making west-facing rooms unbearably hot on warm days. On the upside, the grounds were well-maintained, offering a pleasant alternative to missing ocean views. Underground parking was convenient, though the lack of elevators made hauling luggage up multiple floors unexpected. Overall, our stay fell short. Despite commendable staff efforts, the disparity between promised amenities and reality was disappointing. With hopes for a fulfilling stay dashed, we left unsatisfied. We will not return to this hotel. Expedia also need to ask the property to update the photos and descriptions on the Expedia website, as this is NOT what the property looks like inside anymore

• Simon (4/5): - This property’s aircon was not working in the bedroom and the ceiling fan wasn’t working properly either. Conditions were stifling. The unit had not been cleaned very well with a thick layer of dust on the tv unit in the bedroom and the floor! The TV screen in the bedroom was damaged. There was a loaf of mouldy bread in the pantry. The frying pans looked disgusting as was the cupboard where they were stored. The office was closed on the public holiday so we had to endure the stifling conditions in the bedroom or sleep on the couches in the lounge. We reported everything to the front office on the Sat morning and received a call from the on-site manager. It was easy to tell he wasn’t happy. We were told the aircon was to be fixed that coming week. So they had rented the unit knowing the aircon wasn’t working. The manager attended the apartment while we were out. He cleaned the three pans and put a pedestal fan into the unit. This was so disappointing. The washing machine was absolutely filthy. We don’t go on holiday to start cleaning up after other people. There was no further communication with the manager either. No offer of compensation. The standards of Surfside on The Beach have slipped dramatically.

It needs maintenance and thorough cleaning, one of the couches was not usable and the wifi didn’t work in any of the bedrooms and barely worked in the lounge by modern standards.

• Toni-Maree (8/5): - The location was perfect. Direct beach access was incredible. The view from the balcony and sound of the waves at night I loved. One of the pools was heated which the kids loved as we stayed in winter. The unit we stayed in was spacious, 3bdrm. Had books and games for kids. Kitchen was well equipped. Tiles in all areas inside apartment were hard on feet though. Cockroach bait traps were left throughout which was a hazard for my toddler and I also had a big live cockroach on the bench surprise me one night. Glass Sliding door to balcony had no safety sticker and one of my kids walked into it thinking door was open and got hurt. Washer dryer combo machine took a very long time to dry clothes.We had a power cut while we stayed for 4 hours which wasn’t great. Designated parking spot for each unit underground but the spaces and area underneath is so small so I couldn’t park down there with my imax despite it being under the height restriction, definitely for small cars only. There is some street parking though which we used. Lady at front office was lovely. You Have to use a key to open every single door/ use lift etc. means everything is super safe but it was a pain with kids and the key gets stuck in the locks. Trying to hold a kids hand and turn the key and the door handle at the same time was difficult. I’d probably stay again purely for the location and the lovely staff, but the interior could definitely do with being updated/refreshed a bit.

• Tracey (8/5): It was fun and we all enjoyed ourselves close to everything yet private and peaceful except forthe l - The drier needs repair extremely noisy and filter is completely torn dont know what the neigbours thought i used it late at night once only the clothes were already wet. toilet stained at rear in bowl (crusty) and shower at a glance fine but when in and actually taking some notice edges stained with built up dirty water/soap residue, laundry floor between wash tub and machine filthy with built up dust slash dirt very noticeable.....attention to detail really expected for the cost. Gorgeous unit and space to be in decor and utencils etc impeccable oudoor space just awesome vincinity to beach uncomparable. Need cleaners to be more vigilant or check on them more regularly, also garden man came around with a blower and blew a bunch of debree all over the large outdoor verandah which i had to sweep. so my recommendation would be better service staff required with a respect for your beautiful property . Having said this it did not take away from a wonderful break i am keen to come again.

• Luis (6/5): Pleasant - It had lots of space. The view from the room was terrific. The kitchen had all the tools to cook yourself a nice meal. The beds were comfortable. Although we only used the rooftop once, it was very nice. The apartment was very dusty, especially around the fans. So when turned on they would fill the air with dust. Some of the kitchen pans and glassware were dirty.
• Julie (2/5): - Property was absolutely disgusting. Stains on white bed sheets, air conditioner unable to be used as it hasn’t been cleaned in a very long time. Fans and walls in bedrooms were covered in thick dust. All cooking utensils were dirty. Food left in freezer. Nice unit, however needs a very good clean.
• Deanna (9/5): Family Easter holiday.. - We live in far north qld, so we loved the quiet location of the motel/beach, which still had a touch of the Sunny Coast 🌞 Central to everything... apartment was spacious, well equipped, and brilliant for my family. Very happy with security. We were very happy on a whole... but maybe dining chairs may need replacing, 2 bedrooms without aircons/this was needed, spare bedroom (nearest to toilet) the fan was very slow (room could be quite warm), and one kitchen cupboard (saucepans cupboard) needed a clean.

• Peter (10/5): Pleasant, peaceful & relaxing. - We stayed for 5 nights & the apartment was well appointed with everything we needed. It was spacious, airy & a relaxing atmosphere. I enjoyed morning swims at the nearest of the 3 pools. The temp was comfortably cool to do some short laps. The bed was a little firm but ok. Having an overhead fan really helped during the humid nights. We enjoy SBS TV series so needed the wifi connection which worked most of the time. The apartment was 2 bedroom averaging about $200p night so basically value for money. The key system was frustrating at times being required for the lift & entering/exiting the parking garage. made the mistake of trying to enter the central building & not the northern one as it was night & the entrances look similar. Some signage on the garage & the main apartment doors might help avoid this. we were not the 1st to end up trying to "break into" the wrong area. If you go to the top deck of your apartment you get some sea views. All in all it was a relaxing time& peaceful location to take a break. Sonia & Rob were friendly & helpful managers.

The door to ensuite latch has been installed backwards. So the lock doesn’t work properly and may be a safety issue in the event of an emergency.

Unfortunately, the apartment was really outdated with very unconfutable beds and poor bed configuration. It was lacking maintenance and cleanness. The apartment was not fully airconditioned. The whole S6 apartment needs to be updated and a good throughout cleaning.

Car park under isn't built for large cars :-) but we could park outside next to reception most times. Lady on reception was very friendly and helpful.
• Kirra-lee (6/5): It was a great location but cooling in unit needs attention. - Location was good, facilities were tidy and clean. Only one air conditioner in unit which struggled to keep things cool in the living area. No air conditioners in bedrooms so it made it very uncomfortable to sleep even though there was a ceiling fan. We were also unaware that there was no lift to this unit which was on the third floor, it was okay for us but wouldn’t be good for elderly, injured or people with little ones. Main bed was comfortable but the mattress protector needs replacing as elastic has gone and the bottom sheet didn’t cover the bed properly so woke up several times with all the bottom sheet and mattress protector screwed up underneath us and lying on the mattress. Internet was pretty hopeless as well.

Not recommend it at all. The manager is not easy to communicate and not interested in guests circumstance.

Walking distance to Kawana Surf Club (great meals!) and Kawana Shopping Centre. Comfortable bed & well appointed unit. Staff communication was excellent. The whole unit needs a thorough clean. It smelt musty & mouldy and we needed to keep the windows & doors open to get fresh air circulating. The floors were filthy & had evidently not been cleaned. Build up of mould and grime found in window & curtain tracks plus on top of the dvd/set top box. Kitchen cupboards were disgusting, with a build up of grime & grease on the shelves and the cooktop rangehood was even worse! The ensuite bathroom smelt terrible and the build up of mould around the floor/walls was really bad.

• Shaun (10/5): Awesome accommodation - Loved this place! Super roomy and we’ll appointed apartments. Location was perfect for us and beach, pools and local surf club all within a few meters of the back door! We’ll be back next year for sure!
